NicoleR85: thanks!

It wasn't long after the Phoenix got back to her TARDIS when her phone rang. "Oh hey Nick!" she greeted cheerfully when she saw that the ID was none other than one of the Writing Warriors "H…." she trailed off and frowned "what? Ok, I'll be there as soon as I can. Just keep your distance from him".

Goose meowed at her, questioning what happened on the phone call. "That was an old friend of mine. She and a group of humans are in trouble", the Phoenix explained as she started to work frantically at the controls. The Flerken was quick to hop up onto the jump seat when the ship took off.

As soon as the TARDIS touched down, the Time Lady raced out of it just in time to see her friend and two others being chased by a rathe ugly looking being. "Oh bloody hell", she groused and chased after the creature, Goose hot on her heels. "Hey ugly!" the Phoenix called making the being stop and turn around "oh, you're an Absorbaloff!" her face hardened when she saw that he'd already taken a few lives "those humans are off limits", she growled angrily "in fact all humans are off limits".

"Who are you to declare such a thing?" Victor the Absorbaloff scoffed, eyeing the brunette.

"I'm the Phoenix", the Time Lady replied.

Victor looked at her very pleased "the Phoenix. At long last", he proclaimed "I've been waiting quite a while to meet you and of course the Doctor".

"Well, you wont be meeting him any…" the Time Lady trailed off when she heard the last sound that she wanted to hear "oh you've got to be kidding me!" she complained.

"Bad timing Doc", Nick muttered as the Doctor stepped out of the police box.

"Someone wants a word with you", he told Elton before Rose exited the TARDIS.

"You upset my mum", she stated, levelling a glare at the young man.

"Great big absorbing creature from outer space, and you're having a go at me?" Elton asked, gesturing to Victor.

"No one upsets my mum", Rose said firmly.

"At last. I have the greatest feast of all. The Doctor and the Phoenix", Victor declared.

"We're not going to be your 'feast'", the Phoenix told him "And if you know whats good for you, you'll leave this planet, right now".

Victor laughed "I don't think I will", he said "I've read all about you two. The Doctor so passionate, so sweet. And you, the Phoenix. You're a formidable opponent but you have one very exploitable weakness. You so called 'Ohana'" the Time Lady's face remained blank, although she could feel her anger rising. "I know that this one…" he pointed at the woman with dyed green hair "has a link to you…one of your precious 'family'. If you give yourselves up, I'll spare her and the other two".

"No", the Phoenix said.

"No?" Victor repeated "but…they'll die".

"No, they won't", the Time Lady said firmly "you've claimed to have done your research on us but you've missed out one very crucial thing".

"And what is that?" Victor asked.

"I make sure that everyone in my family knows how to handle themselves in a crisis", the Phoenix answered. Nick snatched the cane out of Victor's hands and snapped it over her knee. It emits a shower of blue sparks, the top of the cane opening up to reveal a glowing light.

"My cane!" Victor cried "You stupid little girl…Oh, no!" he roars one more time and then before the eyes of everyone he turned to liquid.

"What did you just do?" Elton asked watching the liquid slowly be absorbed by the pavement while Ursula gaped at Nick.

"The cane created a limitation field. Now it's broken, he can't stop. The absorber is being absorbed", the Phoenix explained "let me guess…you used your eyes", she grinned at Nick.

"And noticed everything, yeah", the woman agreed "learned from the best" earning a laugh from the Time Lady.

"But…what about those Victor absorbed? Mr Skinner, Bridget and Bliss?" Ursula asked "are they just…gone?"

"I'm good but I'm no miracle worker", the Phoenix said "I'm afraid the Doctor can't do anything to help either".

"I'm so sorry", the Doctor murmured quietly. Ursula and Elton nodded sadly. It was too much to hope that the Time Lords would be able to save the others. But at least they were still alive and that was all thanks to Nick, the Phoenix and the Doctor.

"Nix, wait!" the Doctor called, hurrying after the Phoenix and Goose. The brunette stopped and turned to him. "I'd like for you to come with me again". Though it hadn't been that long since the trip to 1953 and even less time for his best friend given that she was still wearing her 50's dress…he still missed her. The TARDIS just didn't feel the same without her in it.

"Doctor I…" the Time Lady started.

"Nix, please", the Doctor cut in "I miss you", he whispered.

The Phoenix sighed "Doctor I miss you too but…"

"You can't stay with me", the Time Lord finished.

"Not at the moment", the Phoenix said, regretfully "I want to at least try to get the baby's room done. I know, the TARDIS can do it for me but it isn't the same as doing it myself".

"I understand", the Doctor said, trying to hide his disappointment.

"But afterwards I would love to travel with you for a bit", the Time Lady continued "Goose is great and all but I do miss having another person around. I don't think I can take on a new companion, not after Mickey and of course with the baby on the way…"

"The baby should be your priority. And I look forward to when you do come to travel with me…and Rose", the Doctor added the last bit with a mutter.

"She still annoying you?" the Phoenix asked.

"Only ever 5 minutes", the Doctor admitted and she gave him a sympathetic look.

"Well, you got way more patience than I do for her. If were you, I'd have kicked her to the curb a long time ago", the mother-to-be remarked. She gave the Doctor a hug "I'll see you soon, ok?"

"Ok", the Time Lord agreed. The Phoenix kissed his cheek before she turned and walked away, Goose following after her.

The Phoenix stood in the nursery, now wearing a pair of dungarees and her brown hair pulled back in a messy ponytail. She stood by the blank white wall, contemplating what to have on the walls. She could've stuck with the galaxy from before but it just didn't feel right to have anything that was meant for the baby she'd lost. "Ok…let's try a sunset", she murmured. A mix of yellows, oranges and reds appeared on the wall. "Add a little pink", she instructed. The Phoenix watched the image morph into something very similar to what she'd seen whilst in Hawaii with Jack.

The Time Lady let out a shaky breath and a couple of tears rolled down her cheeks. She missed him so much! "I don't know how I'm gonna do this", she admitted. Yes, she'll have loads of help from the Doctor and her other friends but it wasn't the same as having her child's father around.

Suddenly the lights flickered overhead. The Phoenix glanced up at them, curious. "What's all that about?" she questioned but the lights kept flickering before an arrow appeared on the ceiling, pointing toward the corridor. The Time Lady left the nursery to where she found a line of lights all along the floor. The brunette followed them to the console room where the scanner had turned on. The Phoenix moved closer to the screen and let out a gasp. On it was a rather large sand phoenix sculpture! "I don't believe it", she breathed, seeing the image zoom out to show the hut she'd stayed in with Jack and the American himself sitting on the steps, waiting. He was waiting for her.

Goose pawed her leg and she glanced down at her. "I know what you're about to say and I agree", she said, nodding to the jump seat. The Flerken didn't waste any time hopping up onto the seat while the Phoenix started programming the TARDIS to head toward Hawaii.

Jack shifted on the wooden step for the umpteenth time. It was getting really uncomfortable but he didn't want to move in case the Phoenix's TARDIS showed up. And she was going to show, he was sure of it. There was no way that her ship wouldn't alert her to a large sand sculpture of a phoenix right next to the hut they stayed at. He stood up when he heard a wonderful sound. It was a TARDIS! Her TARDIS hopefully.

The American watched as the Phoenix's TARDIS appeared. He was already taking off toward it when the doors opened to reveal the Time Lady. "Jack!" the brunette exclaimed happily, running out to meet him. Jack swept her off her feet, hugging her tightly.

"Oh Nix", he breathed, happy tears rolling down his cheeks "I found you. I've finally found you".

The Phoenix kissed him soundly "I've missed you so much", she whispered against his lips.

"I've missed you too", Jack whispered back, kissing her again.

"Jack, there's something I need to tell you", the Time Lady said.

"What is it?" he asked. The Phoenix didn't say anything, she just took his hands and placed them on her waist. Jack glanced down at her stomach then back up to her face. The Time Lady nodded in confirmation. "I'm gonna be a dad!" he laughed in delight "I'm gonna be a dad!" the Phoenix giggled when he lifted her off her feet, spinning her around "I'm gonna be a dad!"

"Yes, you are", she confirmed as he set her down.

"This is the best news ever!" Jack proclaimed, kissing her once more "I love you, Nix".

"I love you too", the Phoenix said with a smile.

"Marry me", Jack suddenly blurted out, making the Time Lady blink at him.

"What?" she question, rather taken aback. The man got down on one knee, taking out a small box from his pocket. The Phoenix clapped a hand over her mouth when he opened it to show a vintage ruby engagement ring.

"Nix, will you marry me?" Jack asked.

"Yes. Yes I will", the brunette replied with a giddy smile.

"Yes!" Jack said, making her laugh as he put the ring on her finger. With a light grasp on her hand, he stood up. "You've made me the happiest man alive, Nix", he proclaimed.

"Enya", the Phoenix corrected and he stared at her "my real name is Enya but don't tell anyone. No one's supposed to know our real names unless they're family. Oh, or unless you're the Doctor. He's my best friend so I told him".

"Got it, Enya", Jack said. He honestly couldn't believe this day could get any better when the Phoenix gone and topped it with revealing her true name. How did he get so lucky?
