Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Holographic Heroes. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own Red vs Blue; Monty and a few others do.

Connie cursed as a pair Charon Industries pelicans flew overhead. How did they find her? She turned to look at Massachusetts who looked surprised.

"Oh, look, your buddies." Massachusetts snarked, his voice vocally sounding like a sneer. "You invite them to stab me in the back? Steal my stuff too?" Massachusetts questioned; his rifle still held at the ready.

Connie sighed, but it wasn't like she had much room to argue. She wouldn't believe the director was corrupt just from word of mouth either. However? She didn't plan on killing any of them unless she was forced to.

"If we survive this?" Connie asked, holding her magnum at the ready. "Will you at least listen to me? If you don't believe me then, we're fight like you seem to want, deal?" Connie questioned to which Massachusetts looked downwards.

He tapped his fingers on the butt of his gun, Connie knew enough from the councilor to know the gesture. He was thinking, measuring his options if he did and didn't do so.

"You gonna shoot me in the back the second I turn around?" Massachusetts questioned which garnered a shake of the head. "Fine, you know I'm no good at this planning crap. I'm going to guess you stab them and I shoot who I can?" Massachusetts put in as he shook his head.

Connie looked at her magnum and knife. She had packed plenty of ammo for her magnum, knowing that she'd probably NEVER be returning to the Mother of Invention.

"Yes, drop a NAV point in between those rock formations." Connie put in to which Massachusetts sighed. "Remember last mission?" Connie questioned as Massachusetts turned to her, his head tilted.

"We screwed that up." Massachusetts stated, laying down so he could properly shoot. "You do anything stupid? I'm shooting you. You know THAT is something I'm good enough at to back up." Massachusetts stated while he turned, brushing off his armor as he did so.

"Fair enough." Connie said before she slid down the rock formations. "Damn it, Marty." Connie added as she drew her gun.

She made sure to keep a rock to her back. The dirt brown stone formations blended in well with her armor. It almost made her forget she had a semiprofessional assassin ready to put a bullet in her head.

'Marty is never this serious, something is putting him on edge. Does he really not trust me? We've been on 4 missions, all of which we worked together… Then again? Bringing up his name was never something he enjoyed, nor did he like secrets.' Connie thought as she looked at the group.

There was a large group of 15 'rebel soldiers' racing into the rocks… Then there were who she knew were some of Charon's personal army. 8 grey suited mercenaries who looked far more professional than the others.

"Marty, can you see me?" Connie questioned which was met by silence. "Massachusetts, are you in position?" Connie questioned as the comm clicked on.

"Yeah, I see you. Busy looking at those fancy soldiers they got, ever seen them?" Massachusetts questioned, pausing to readjust his rifle.

"Rebel mercenaries." Connie replied as she sighed. "Much better than the regular ones. Let me handle them." Connie added to which Massachusetts let out an audible sigh.

"No offense? There's no 'quiet' function on this gun." Massachusetts responded, his voice sounding a bit more amused. "I shoot? They hear it. I know their stupid, but they're not that stupid." Massachusetts added, waiting for her to make her move.

"Hmm, there's plenty of people I need to kill, you know." Connie put in before a single bullet rang out.

Connie watched as one of the rebel soldiers staggered, a fresh hole punched in their head as they collapsed. Connie watched as the other soldiers spread out, trying to figure out where the hell their target had gone.

"Then get to ass kicking, Connie. I thought it's what your good at right now." Massachusetts put in, his voice sounding full of mirth like it had been a few seconds ago.

"There's no talking you out of this, is there?" Connie questioned before another bullet rang out. "Taking that as a no then." Connie said before creeping through chest high walls.

Connie hated these soldiers. She had put the trust in Charon to be the heroes… And what was their first move? Sabotage her, kill her and steal the data from her lifeless corpse for it. The amount of disgust and vile she held was almost unmistakable.

"You got 3 of those fancy guys coming in." Massachusetts stated before 2 more shots were sent flying. "Why don't you run away? There's plenty of bad guys I have to kill." Massachusetts stated to which Connie was silent.

She knew he didn't trust her, why would he? There was NOTHING that gave her proof to expose the director but the info she had stolen. However? Giving the gram sized chip to her possible enemy? Meant they could just turn and kill her, hell? If she wasn't hiding the info? She doubted Massachusetts cared.

"Because I promised to tear down these enemies." Connie responded to which there was a snort. "If you really hated me? Why not shoot me?" Connie questioned as a second of silence was greeting her.

"I need the bait." Connie heard as he blinked. "I'm not in a mood to joke about, Connecticut. You know how ticked I am… You want me to trust you? Then don't take a bullet and take them out." Massachusetts stated to which she nodded and hummed.

There was plenty of things she could do. There was quite a bit of work to be done. Connie snuck around the corner what came next. Massachusetts nodded to which she hummed.

"Do you have anything to think when it comes down to it?" Connie questioned to which he hummed. "There's plenty of things to talk about, Marty." Connie stated as Massachusetts shrugged as he shook his head.

"What do you want me to say, Connie?" Massachusetts stated to her. "Because I'm honestly damn curious. You didn't tell anyone, you just stabbed us in the back." Massachusetts added, pointing to which he clicked his tongue as more gunfire sprang out.

He continued to fire, his rifle clacking as he did so. He knew there was something going on. Massachusetts knew Connie was someone who constantly thought in half-truths and lies, Connie always hid in the shadows.

"Connie?" Massachusetts asked as he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "How badly do you think your right?" Massachusetts questioned as he cracked his knuckles.

More gunshots were fired, 3 hit, 4 hit rock when it came down to it? These rebels were quite interesting, he needed to think of his best move. Connecticut was someone who was quite powerful, she was cunning, she was skilled.

"Yeah?" Connie questioned as she stabbed through one of the rebels. "I know that tone of voice." Connie stated to which Massachusetts fell silent.

He watched the woman stab one of the rebels, putting a hand over his mouth as she did so. She knocked the soldier to the ground, finishing him off. Connie was quite skilled with the knife; he didn't know how good she was until now.

"Don't tell me yet, keep fighting." Connie heard as he sighed. "I need to reload, keep your head down." Connie stated to which he nodded. "And second? Don't think your off the head at the moment." Massachusetts stated to which she was silent.

There was a click and then the unmissable sound of more rounds being inserted into the weapon. Massachusetts continued to think of how best to end this.

"Marty!" Massachusetts here as the sound of gunfire was returned towards him.

More gunfire slammed into the cliff, cutting up the cliff as he slid down the cliff, grabbing his rifle as he did so. He knew there was very little that there he could do. A single bullet would cut thought his armor like a knife through butter… He almost questioned if this was on purpose to help him.

"How many of them are left?" Massachusetts asked as he landed in the canyon. "Connie?" Massachusetts questioned before he sighed.

He landed in a crouch as more gunfire came at him. he cursed, ticked at these soldiers. They had him pinned, all it would take is a few sneaking around to hit his flank.

'She used me, why the hell did I trust her?' Massachusetts asked before there was another noise.

The sound of magnum fire and screams. It made him turn to look around the corner in time to see one of the soldiers. Connie was busy fighting the soldiers just as well as he was. if they had enough people killed? Then there would be a chance they could get through the rest of the soldiers.

However? He didn't know if she was luring him into a false sense of security or she was devoted to fighting these soldiers. Massachusetts really couldn't tell what it was or not.

"Still think I'm on the wrong side?" Massachusetts heard as he rolled his eyes to himself. "There's another squad moving in. I'll see if I can slow them down, but I'd keep moving, they know there's a sniper in the area." Connie stated as she turned to continue shooting.

'Don't have to tell me more. Just make sure they don't shoot me while I'm shooting them.' Massachusetts thought as he sighed.

More gunfire began to shriek through the air, cutting it up like a thousand different knifes. There was plenty of soldiers to be dealt with, however. If he caused more issues? They'd end up cutting the soldiers to shreds.

"Marty!" Massachusetts heard as he paused to shake his head. "There's another squad, all of them flanking you. Keep moving, make sure they don't track you down." Massachusetts heard from Connie as he rolled his eyes.

"Really, how many of them have you managed to kill?" Massachusetts questioned, pausing to ready his rifle still. "Because right now? I'm starting to assume your letting me deal with the rest of their army. I've barely dealt with the rest of their army." Massachusetts stated before he turned shooting the first of one of the soldiers.

There was too much at stake for them to be spent dealing with their army. He turned, shooting the next one in the head and ducking around to notice another of the soldiers were busy fighting a very powerful soldier. Whoever sent for these soldiers? They sure were plentiful enough to be seen as bullet sponges.

"I swear if they don't stay dead? I'm screaming." Massachusetts stated before he shook his head, unsure what to say or do. "Connie, what's your status? These guys are cutting into my location. I'm trying to handle them as best as I can, their starting to come in waves." Massachusetts stated, causing him to pause as he looked around continuing to fire as he did so.

The soldiers came with rifles, bullets pockmarking the area around him as he did so. There was nothing stopping him from retreating, allowing the rest of the mercenaries to kill Connie and leaving his objective secured.

But he sighed mentally. He didn't want Connie to die, even if he saw her as a mercenary or a backstabbing traitor. Mercenary sighed, unsure of what to do he if something happened to her at all.
