Thanks to kirvanessa for following/faving my story.

NicoleR85: thanks!

The Time Lord Oracle: thanks. Wanted to make it a little different to cannon.

Amy groaned as she awoke, her head pounding a little from all the dream jumping. Though she quickly forgot about her aching head when she saw Alyssa lying on the floor. She jumped up from the bed and went over to her. "Ali? Ali!" she called, gently shaking her shoulder. The Time Lady let out a soft moan as she stirred. "Are you ok?" she asked.

"Yeah" Alyssa slowly sat up "blimey, the Dream Lord sure knows how to make a girl's head hurt", she remarked "I take it you made your choice".

Amy nodded "I did", she replied "I chose Rory".

"Figured you would've done", Alyssa said giving her a proud smile "never doubted you for a second".

"I doubted myself", Amy admitted "didn't think I'd be able to make a choice".

"How so?" Alyssa questioned, curious.

"I still love the Doctor. Not in a romantic sense, of course…that stopped after the kiss", Amy explained "but I still care for him. So it made it very difficult to choose between two people that I care for deeply".

"I understand. If I were in your position, I'd find it hard too", Alyssa said gently "Now I think we should go found our respective partners because I don't know about you, but mine is going to into worry mode".

"That wouldn't surprise me at all. The Doctor is pretty protective of you", Amy remarked, helping the Time Lady up.

"Can you blame him? He is the father of my baby after all", Alyssa reminded her.

"I still can't believe he's going to be a dad. He's such a child!" the red headed Time Lady laughed at her words.

"Yeah, that's true", she agreed "but you should've seen the previous version of him. He was so handsome…still is actually".

Amy smiled at how lovestruck the empath seemed to be. "You really do love him, don't you?" she asked.

"He's my everything", Alyssa replied, touching her engagement ring "anyway we better go find our fiancé's. I don't know about you but mine is probably freaking about right about now".

"Yeah, good idea", the ginger haired Scotswoman agreed and the two females left the bedroom. "We're should we go first?" Amy questioned.

"Lets head to the console room", the Time Lady suggested "our fiancé's are either already there or on their way to it". Amy nodded in agreement and the pair headed off toward the console room. They hadn't reached it when the Doctor careened around the corner, almost knocking them down.

"Ali! Are you ok?" the Time Lord asked, frantically checking her over, his hands lingering around her stomach.

"I'm fine", Alyssa said gently. She took his hands, placing them on her stomach "we're both fine".

"Good. That's good", the Doctor said utterly relieved "wait…what happened to your hand?" he asked taking hold of her bandaged hand.

"The TARDIS did something to wake me up from the dreams but its fine, really", Alyssa assured him.

"Rory is in the Library", he told Amy "you and I are going to the med bay", he added to Alyssa.

"Alright", she said knowing not to argue with him. She should've figured that he'd want to check her over properly, not matter how much she'll insist that she was fine and the baby was alright too.

"I'll come find you later!" Amy called as the Doctor took Alyssa's uninjured hand and led her away.

"It looks like everything is alright for both you and our baby", the Doctor reported as he looked at the results on the tablet.

"I did say that we were both fine", Alyssa reminded him, sitting up.

"I know, I was just worried", the Doctor admitted, setting down the tablet on the nearest table before going over to hospital bed she was partially sitting up on. "I'd lost you once and it was only thanks to the TARDIS that I got you and our baby back. I never want to go through it again".

Alyssa touched his hand "you won't", she said softly "I'm not going anywhere".

"Good", the Doctor said, caressing her face "cos I don't plan on letting you go, ever" he then kissed her "never. Ever, ever". Alyssa then yawned, making him chuckle.

"Sorry, I don't know why I'm so tired", she said "it's not like I have been sleeping for hours. Oh wait! I have". That had the Doctor laughing even more.

"Well then we better get you to our room", the Time Lord said getting up from the bed. He held out his hand to her and she took it. The Doctor carefully pulled her off of the bed and led her out of the med bay. As they walked, the Time Lord noticed that she seemed to be distracted by something. "Love, are you ok?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just tired", Alyssa replied, waving off his concern.

The Doctor stopped walking and looked at her "Ali, I may not be an empath like you but I can tell that something is bothering you. And I mean not cos you're tired", he said.

"I'm just thinking about what the Dream Lord showed me", the red head explained "when we got split up I saw the previous you and…" she trailed off as she teared up.

"You miss him", the Doctor said, quietly.

"Yeah", Alyssa whispered "I know you are still the Doctor but he's the one I met. The one I fell in love with. Maybe that's why I feel so close to James. Its like having the old you back".

"Maybe we can try and find him", the Doctor suggested "so you and he could spend sometime together".

The Time Lady smiled at him, touched by his gesture. She knew how much he wasn't keen on being around his meta crisis. "Thanks but you don't need to do that. I'll be fine", she assured him "you're the only Doctor that I need or could ever want".

The Doctor smiled at her, rather pleased by her words "I love you, Ali" he kissed her softly and touched her waist "both of you". He took her hand and they continued toward their room.

"So where would you like to go today?" the Doctor asked when Alyssa had woken up.

"Hm…how about Rio?" the Time Lady suggested.

"Rio sounds good", the Time Lord agreed "but later though, I'm too comfy to move" he pulled her closer to him "way too comfy".

"Well, I wanna have a shower", the red head said, using her powers to slightly loosen his grip on her. The Doctor pouted when she got out of bed. "You're welcome to join me unless you'd rather just sit there pouting like a child", she offered. She headed into the bathroom and her fiancé scrambled out of bed to join her.

"Behold..." the Doctor grabbed hold of the handles and pulled the doors open with a flourish "Rio!"

The sight that greeted them wasn't not Rio, in fact it was...a graveyard. Amy, Rory and Alyssa move around the Doctor and out of the TARDIS. Amy looked around the graveyard shaking her head. "Not really getting the sunshine carnival vibe", Rory remarked.

"Looks like we've ended up in the wrong place", Alyssa commented "never mind. I'll get us to Rio". She started to head back into the TARDIS when she stopped and frowned.

"Ali, love what's wrong?" the Doctor asked, concerned "is it the baby?"

The red head shook her head "the baby is fine", she replied "no, it's the ground", she knelt down, pressing her palm to it "feels strange". The Doctor stepped out of the blue box and seemed like the Time Lady was right.

"Can you two feel it?" he questioned to Amy and Rory who both shook their heads "oh just us then". He then noticed something strange out of the corner of his eye and darted off. His fiancée and two companions hurried after him.

"Doctor, what is it?" Alyssa questioned seeing him stop and crouch down by one of the graves. He plucked a few blades of grass.

"Blue grass", he stated standing up "patches of it all around the graveyard".

"That's weird", she remarked "just like the ground".

"Yep", the Doctor agreed.

"Who cares about blue grass?" Amy asked "we quite clearly in the wrong place and..." She trailed off and frowned across the valley. There were two people waving at them "Why are those people waving at us?"

The Doctor followed her gaze "Can't be", he said and pulled out a pair of binoculars from his pocket "It is!" he lowered the binoculars "It's you, Amy. Rory as well".

"No, we're here. How can we be up there?" Rory asked confused.

"This is the year 2020", the Doctor said "Ten years in your future. Come to relive past glories, I'd imagine. Humans, you're so nostalgic".

"We're still together in ten years?" Amy said surprised.

"No need to sound so surprised!" Rory remarked.

"Where do you think we'll be in 10 years' time?" Alyssa asked the Doctor.

"Well, for starters we'll have a little one running about", the Time Lord answered, putting his binoculars away before he slid an arm around the red head's waist "and we'd also be happily married".

Alyssa smiled at him "I can't wait to be your wife", she said.

"Hey, let's go and talk to them!" Amy piped up "We can say hi to future us. How cool is that?" she grabbed Rory by the arm and started to head off when the Doctor's voice stopped her.

"No, best not. Really best not. These things get complicated very quickly..." the Time Lord spotted some sort of mining thing nearby "oh look! Big mining thing. Oh, I love a big mining thing. See, way better than Rio! Rio doesn't have a big mining thing".

"We're not going to have a look, are we?" Amy groaned.

"Let's go and have a look", the Doctor said, ignoring the ginger's complaint "Come on, let's see what they're doing". He moved his arm from around Alyssa, taking her hand instead. He then pulled the red head down the path.

"Do you think we could forgo the 'big mining thing'?" Alyssa asked as they walked "I'd rather think that Amy and Rory would prefer to see Rio".

"We'll go to Rio after we look at the big mining thing", the Doctor said "I promise".

"I'm holding you to that, dear. I know I could really do with a break", the pregnant Time Lady admitted. The Doctor stopped and looked at her.

"We'll go right now then", he proclaimed. He started to walk back the way they came when Alyssa pulled her hand out of his. "Ali? What's wrong?" he asked, worried.

"I hate to say this but we should check out the 'big mining thing'. Especially if it has something to do with the blue grass and why the ground feels strange", Alyssa explained.

"You sure?" the Doctor questioned. As eager as he was to investigate, he was more than willing to forget about it if she asked him to.

Alyssa nodded "Yeah, I'm sure", she confirmed "Now, come on" she grabbed his hand "let's go poke with the big mining thing with a stick…not literally though".

The Doctor laughed "yeah, lets", he agreed.

~Mine gates~

The pair stop at a set of locked gates. "Restricted access. No unauthorised personnel", the Doctor read the sign aloud.

Alyssa laughed "like that ever stopped you", she commented.

"So true", he agreed, taking his sonic out and using it on the padlock. He removed it and opened the gate "come on".

Alyssa glanced behind them, frowning. Amy and Rory were nowhere to be seen. She'd expected them to be following which is why she didn't bother using her gifts to keep tabs on the two humans "shouldn't we wait for Amy and Rory?" she asked.

"Nah, they'll catch us up", the Doctor replied holding out his hand. Alyssa took his hand and they walked through the gate.

~Tunnel~

"Penny for your thoughts love?" the Doctor asked, noticing that his future wife seemed to be a little distracted as they walked. She'd been like that the other day after the Dream Lord. She couldn't still be thinking about his meta crisis, could she?

"I was thinking about our upcoming wedding", Alyssa replied "I…" she trailed off "what's that noise?"

"Its a, drill in start-up mode. Afterwaves of a recent seismological shift and blue grass" the Doctor replied "but don't let that stop you from telling me what you wanted to say".

"Oh, it's nothing. We can talk about it later", Alyssa said "now what's in…" they walked into a room where an Indian woman, Nasreen, was standing near machinery "...here? Hello!"

"Who are you two?" Nasreen demanded "What're you doing here?" she frowned at Alyssa's outfit "And what're you wearing?"

"I dressed for Rio", Alyssa told her.

The Doctor took out his psychic paper and showed it to Nasreen "Ministry of Drills, Earth and Science! New Ministry, quite big, just merged. It's lot of responsibility on our shoulders. Don't like to talk about it" the Time Lord tucked the paper back into his pocket "What are you doing?"

"None of your business", Nasreen answered.

"Where are you getting these readings from?" the Doctor asked moving over to the monitor, Alyssa following him.

"Under the soil", Nasreen answered removing equipment from a hole in the floor.

An older man, Tony, enters the room "The drill's up and running again", he told Nasreen "What's going on? Who are these people?" he asked looking at the Doctor and Alyssa.

"I'm Alyssa and this is my fiancé, the Doctor", the Time Lady replied, introducing herself and the Time Lord.

The Doctor walked over to the hole and picked up a pinch of soil, letting it fall through his fingers "Why's there a big patch of earth in the middle of your floor?" he questioned.

"We don't know. It just appeared overnight", Nasreen replied.

"Good. Right" the Doctor stood up "You all need to get out of here very fast".

"Doctor, what's wrong?" Alyssa asked. Before he could answer the ground suddenly started to shake. The Time Lord ran back to monitor.

"The ground is moving", he stated.

"Is it an earthquake?" the Time Lady questioned.

The Doctor shook his head "Doubt it. Cos its only happening under this room", he replied. Two more holes appear in the floor then three more. "It knows we're here. The ground's attacking us", the Doctor said his hearts starting to hammer at the growing danger to his fiancé and unborn child.

"No, no that's not possible", Nasreen insisted.

"Under the circumstances, I'd suggest, run!" the Doctor grabbed Alyssa's hand and ran for the door, Nasreen not far behind them. Tony tried to follow but became trapped by a hole opening up beneath one of his foot.

"Tony!" Nasreen exclaimed. Alyssa tugged her hand out of the Doctor's and dashed toward Tony.

"It's ok, I got you", Alyssa assured grabbing hold of his arm. Suddenly the ground beneath her feet opened up and she screamed as she quickly sank into it.

"Ali!" the Doctor shouted rushing over to help her.

"Something's got me!" she cried as she was pulled down through the ground up to her waist.

"I've got you", the Doctor said grabbing hold of her hands tightly.

"Don't let go", Alyssa said her voice trembling with fear. Normally she would use her powers to blast her way out of the earth but she was just too scared. Plus the Doctor's fear wasn't helping things either. She knew he couldn't help it, he was afraid for her and their baby. She just wished in moments like these that she didn't have her empath powers.

"Never", the Doctor said, his hearts hammering even more in his chest. Nasreen ran over and easily pulled Tony out of the ground.

"Your drill, shut it down! Go! Now!" the Doctor ordered Nasreen and Tony. They all but sprinted from the room.

Alyssa let out another small scream as she was pulled further into the ground. The Doctor shifted both hands to the one arm that was still free. "Doctor, I don't want to go like this", she whimpered.

"You're not going to die", the Doctor said firmly "you're going to live. We're going to get married and have a baby and our adventures are never going to end, ok?"

"Ok", Alyssa whispered. She was yanked down once more, all that remained where her head, shoulders and one arm which the Doctor was clinging onto with all his strength. He tightened his grip even more, his arms straining to hold on to her hand as she sank deeper. Now only her head and part of her that the Doctor was holding onto was poking out of the dirt. With one final scream, Alyssa was pulled completely underneath the soil.

"NO!" the Doctor cried "No! No!" he frantically dug through the dirt but to no avail "No! No! No!" he slammed his hands on the ground and stands up, pulling out his sonic screwdriver "No you're not gone. You cannot be gone", he muttered using the device on the ground.

Nasreen and Tony rush back in the room "Where is she?" the Indian woman asked.

"She's gone", the Doctor whispered, the sonic falling out of his hand as the shock set in "my fiancée is gone. The ground took her". His twin hearts constricted painfully at having lost her...again. The Time Lord shook his head. No, she wasn't gone! Not like that! She and their baby were still alive and he was going to get them back, no matter what it takes.

With that thought in mind, he walked over to the computers, flashing his sonic over them. "Oh no…what…what are you doing?" Nasreen demanded.

"Hacking into your records", the Doctor answered "Probe reports, samples, sensors. Good. Just unite the data, make it all one big conversation. Let's have a look. So, we are here and this is your drill hole. Twenty one point zero nine kilometres. Well done!"

"Thank you. It's taken us a long time", Nasreen said, pleased with her accomplishment.

"Why here, though? Why'd you drill on this site?" the Doctor questioned.

"We found patches of grass in this area, containing trace minerals unseen in this country for twenty million years", Nasreen explained.

The Doctor sighed "oh, you stupid human", Nasreen and Tony looked at him somewhat offended "Those trace minerals weren't X marking the spot, saying dig here. They were a warning! Which you didn't listen to and now my fiancée has paid the price! She and our baby".

"She's pregnant?" Nasreen repeated, giving him a sympathetic look. The Doctor just glared at her.

"Yes she is", he snapped "and thanks to your drilling, she and out son/daughter are in danger to whomever is drilling upward". He pulled up a screen on one of the computers showing a network of vertical tunnels "see?"

Tony shook his head "No, no, we've surveyed that area", he said.

"You only saw what you went looking for", the Doctor told him "Now I have to go". He didn't wait for a response before marching out of the room.

"Go?" Nasreen asked following after him with Tony "go where?"

"To get Ali back", the Doctor replied "I suggest you two stay out of my way". Then a curious sound reached his ears, making him stop. It was drilling. The Doctor dropped to the ground and listened intently. He then jumped up and rushed back into the store room. "That wasn't drilling, that was transport", he muttered staring at the screen. Three blips were moving upwards at a fast pace "it's transport", he said louder to Tony and Nasreen who'd followed him back into the room, rather confused "Three of them, thirty kilometres down. Rate of speed looks about a hundred and fifty kilometres an hour. Should be here in ooo, quite soon", he glanced at his watch "Twelve minutes. Whatever made the Earth take my fiancée is on its way up, now". He turned to Tony and Nasreen "take this equipment, we're going to need it", he ordered. The Doctor snatched up one of the computers and rushed out of the room. Nasreen and Tony picked up the other computer and the rest of the equipment before following after him.

~Cwmtaff~

"How can something be coming up when there's only the Earth's crust down there?" Tony asked the Doctor as they walked, laden down with equipment.

"You saw the readings!" the Doctor said.

"Who are you, anyway?!" Nasreen demanded "How can you know all this?" Before the Time Lord could answer her, there was a loud whirring sound and the trio saw red lights streak across the sky. "Whoa, did you see that?" Nasreen gaped.

"No, no, no!" the Doctor exclaimed. This cannot be happening! He took out a catapult from his pocket, picked up a rock from the ground and fired it into the air. It hit a force field, red lights streak out from impact. The Doctor then used his sonic, revealing the force field surrounding the village and drill site. "Energy signal originating from under the Earth", The Doctor said "We're trapped".

This wasn't NOT happening! He cannot be trapped! Alyssa needs him!

Then Rory and Amy along with an unfamiliar woman and young boy appeared. "Doctor, something weird's going on here, the graves are eating people", the dirty blonde said.

"Not now, Rory", the Doctor waved him off "Energy barricade, invisible to the naked eye. We can't get out and no one from the outside world can get in".

"What about the TARDIS?" Rory questioned.

"The what?" Nasreen questioned, confused.

"No. Those energy patterns would play havoc with the circuits", the Doctor told him "With a bit of time, maybe, but we've only got nine and a half minutes".

"Nine and a half minutes to what?" Rory asked as Amy looked around, noticing that someone was missing from the group.

"We're trapped, and something's burrowing towards the surface", Nasreen explained quickly.

"Where's Ali?" Amy asked.

"The ground took her", the Doctor replied.

The ginger's eyes widened "Oh god", she breathed.

"I'm going to get her back", the Time Lord said firmly "now, everyone get into the church".

"Where's Mo? Is he with you?" the unfamiliar woman, whom the time travelling trio learned was Ambrose, asked. As they stopped outside the old building.

"This flaming door. Always sticking. I thought you were having it fixed", Tony said trying to get the door open, avoiding his daughter's questioned.

"Dad!" Ambrose exclaimed.

"Something's happened to him, hasn't it?" Elliot, Ambrose's son asked fearfully. Tony again didn't answer, instead he focused on getting the church door open. As soon as it was, they all entered.

The inside of the church, was in a state of disrepair. Crates and random pieces of junk littered the place. "So we can't get out, we can't contact anyone, and something, the something that took my husband, is coming up through the Earth", Ambrose stated while the Doctor, Tony and Nasreen set up the equipment.

"Yes. If we move quickly enough, we can be ready", the Doctor said.

"No, stop. This has gone far enough. What is this?" Ambrose demanded.

"He's telling the truth, love", Tony told her.

"Come on!" Ambrose exclaimed "It's not the first time we've had no mobile or phone signals. Reception's always rubbish".

"Look, Ambrose. We saw the Doctor's fiancée get taken, okay?" Nasreen spoke up "You saw the lightning in the sky. I have seen the impossible today, and the only person who's made any sense of it for me, is the Doctor".

"Him?!" Ambrose said looking at the Time Lord sceptically.

"Me", the Doctor confirmed.

"Can you get my dad back?" Elliot asked. Everyone looked at the Time Lord wondering what he was going to say.

"Yes", the Doctor answered "But I need you to trust me and do exactly as I say from this second onwards, because we're running out of time".

"So tell us what to do", Ambrose countered.

"Thank you. We have eight minutes to set up a line of defence. Bring me every phone, every camera, every piece of recording or transmitting equipment you can find. Every burglar alarm, every movement sensor, every security light. I want the whole area covered with sensors", the Doctor told them all.

When Alyssa eventually woke, she found herself inside what appeared to be some sort of clear coffin. She reached up to touch the top of her prison when a figure appeared. "Let me out", she ordered "now".

"Shush", the figure said.

"Do not shush me. I want out! Now!" Alyssa smacked her 'coffin' "or I swear to god, I'll bust out of here and kick your ass". Gas suddenly started to seep into the coffin from one of the sides. "Oh, no. This is not happening", she muttered and held her breath, silently thanking that fact that she was now a Time Lady. Double respiratory system was definitely going to come in handy right about now. She pressed her hands against the glass and focused. The glass shattered, expelling the gas out of the coffin. Alyssa clambered out of her small prison, glaring at the person who'd shushed her. He was green, rather lizard looking and wearing some kind of lab coat.

"H-how did you…?" he stammered.

"Never mind how I did that. You should've let me out when I told you to", the Time Lady said angrily "now if you don't mind, I'd like to get back to my fiancé. Show me the way out".

"I-it's that way", the Silurian said pointing to the entrance.

"Great", Alyssa said. She started towards the doorway when she felt a sharp pain her neck. The red head cried out and collapsed to the floor, unconscious. Malokeh looked down at the drugged Time Lady with some regret in his face. While she had been confined in the container, his scanner picked up that she was pregnant. He never wanted to harm any female that was with child but this female unfortunately had displayed something both intriguing and scary which warranted further experimentation.

~Crypt~

The Doctor marched down the steps of the crypt where they were holding one of the aliens prisoner. Long story short. Their plan to use tech had failed resulting in Elliot getting taken and Tony getting hurt. But he and Rory managed to capture on of the aliens that had come up from underground and now it was time to get some answers.

"I'm the Doctor", he said to the prisoner "I've come to talk". Without waiting for permission, he removed the alien's mask to reveal a Silurian face beneath it. Normally he would've commented on her appearance but he wasn't in the mood for niceties. Alyssa was still stuck under the earth. He needed to get her back and he didn't care what he had to do to accomplish it. "Your people have my fiancée and I want her back", the Doctor demanded. The Silurian didn't say anything, she just looked at him.

The Time Lord crouched down and looked her in the eyes "listen to me. Ali means everything to me. Both and our unborn child. I want them and the other people that were taken back, right now", he said.

"No", the Silurian replied firmly. The Doctor stood up. He wasn't surprised by her answer. It looked like he was going to have to find the rest of her tribe and negotiate with them instead. He turned and left the crypt.

~Church~

"You're going to what?" Rory asked wondering if he'd misheard the Time Lord.

"I'm going to go down below the surface, to find the rest of the tribe, to talk to them", the Doctor repeated.

"You're going to negotiate with these aliens?" Ambrose asked, sceptically.

"Yes I am", the Doctor replied "it's the only way to get back Ali and the others without instigating war. Now, the creature in the crypt, she's my best bargaining chip. I need her alive. If she lives, so do Elliot, Mo and my fiancée, because I WILL find them. While I'm gone, all of you, in this church, in this corner of planet Earth, you have to be the best of humanity".

"And what if they come back? Shouldn't we be examining this creature? Dissecting it, finding its weak points?" Tony questioned.

"No dissecting!" the Doctor snapped "no examining! We return their hostage, they return ours, nobody gets harmed. We can land this together, if you are the best you can be. You are decent, brilliant people. Nobody dies today. Understand?"

Everyone nods, quietly while Nasreen applauds his speech. Though she did stop when no one else joined in.

~Graveyard~

The Doctor walks quickly toward the TARDIS with Amy. The ginger had been pretty insistent in going with him, that Alyssa would want her to be there to keep him grounded. The Time Lord very reluctantly agreed with the ginger. He did need someone to prevent him from going off the rails and Amy was the best bet after Alyssa. As the Doctor unlocked the door, Nasreen ran up. "No, sorry, no. What are you doing?" he asked her.

"Coming with you, of course!" Nasreen answered as if it was obvious "What is it, some kind of transport pod?" she questioned eagerly, looking at the TARDIS.

"Sort of, but you're not…coming with us", the Doctor said.

"He's right. You're not", Tony agreed, joining them.

"I have spent all my life excavating the layers of this planet, and now you want me to stand back while you head down into it? I don't think so!" Nasreen argued.

The Doctor checked his watch "I don't have time to argue!" he told her. The longer he stood there arguing, the longer Alyssa was in the hands of the Silurians. And she'd been in their clutches long enough.

"I thought we were in a rush", Nasreen stated.

"It'll be dangerous", Amy pointed out.

"So's crossing the road", Nasreen countered.

"Oh, for goodness sake, all right, then! Come on!" the Doctor said crossly, unlocking the TARDIS and entering the blue box. Amy and Nasreen followed after him, the latter doing a double take at the vast interior. "Welcome aboard the TARDIS", the Doctor said going over to the console "Now, don't touch anything. Very precious".

Nasreen walked over from the doorway "No way! But, but that's…this is…" she slapped the Doctor on the arm "fantastic! What does it do?"

"Everything", the Doctor answered "I'm hoping, if we're going down, that barricade won't interfere". Suddenly the ship pitched drastically causing the trio to quickly grab hold of the console. "Did you touch something?!" the Doctor asked Nasreen. He knew Amy wouldn't have done. She knew not to which only left the Indian woman.

"No! Isn't this what it does?" Nasreen asked loudly over the noise.

"Not normally", Amy answered her "what IS happening Doctor?"

"We've been hijacked. They must've sensed the electro-magnetic field. They're pulling the Tardis down into the Earth", the Doctor explained. The TARDIS came to a juddering halt, throwing all three of them to the floor. The Doctor shot to his feet and darted out of the ship's door.

~Laboratory~

Alyssa's face scrunched up as she stirred. Her eyes shot open and she tried to move only to find herself strapped down to a near vertical examination table. "Don't struggle", a male voice spoke up quietly as she thrashed against her bonds "Close your eyes and don't struggle". Alyssa glanced over and saw a man strapped down, just like she was. "Decontamination, they call it. They did it to me while I was conscious", he continued.

"Did what? Who did?" Alyssa questioned.

"Dissected me", the man said looking down at his chest. Alyssa followed his gaze, her eyes widening at the large scar running down his chest.

The Time Lady blanched, turning her head away and breathing through her mouth to avoid from throwing up. She stiffened when she sensed the same person/ being from before. Alyssa looked back to see that it was the alien who'd tried to gas her. "You keep that thing away from me", she ordered, eyeing the sharp implement in his hand "I said keep it away from me!" she repeated and telekinetically ripped the instrument from his hand.

"You really should've listened to her", James piped up, leaning against the doorway of the lab.

"James", the Time Lady whispered, very relieved to see the ginger.

The meta crisis pushed himself away from the door, eyeing the Silurian with hatred. "Release her. Now", he ordered and Malokeh did as he was told. The bonds snapped open, freeing the Time Lady. James went over to Alyssa as she shakily stood up and enveloped her into a hug.

"I want out of this place", she mumbled.

"We're going to leave now", James said. He gathered her up in his arms and glanced at Malokeh "let him go too", he added.

The Silurian nodded and used the same device that he used on Alyssa's bonds to free Mo. "I'm sorry. I…" Malokeh started.

"I don't want to hear it", James snapped "just be grateful that her fiancée isn't here…"

"Um James?" Alyssa piped up "he's here and not very happy". She nodded toward the door way and sure enough a few seconds later, the Tine Lord in question appeared along with Amy and Nasreen. The empath was right in saying the Doctor wasn't happy. He was actually trembling with barely suppressed rage.

James set Alyssa down and she went over to the Time Lord, putting her arms around him. Slowly the Doctor wound his arms around her waist, his rage beginning to dissipate. "Amy, give me a hand", James said to the ginger while he eased Mo to his feet.

He and Amy supported the man between them while the Doctor still held onto the Time Lady. "I'd like to go now", Alyssa said quietly to him.

"Of course", the Doctor agreed. He picked her up and walked out of the lab. Alyssa wasn't going to complain, in fact she was grateful that she didn't have to walk. James and Amy followed after them with Mo supported between themselves. Nasreen was quick to hurry after the group.

The Time Lord strode along the dirt tunnel with one clear thought in his mind: getting his fiancée to the TARDIS, to safety. Thankfully nobody tried to stop him from getting back to the ship, though the Oncoming Storm in him was rather itching to see if someone would just so he could show them the fury of a Time Lord.

~TARDIS~

Just like with the Daleks, the console room's lights dimmed and she left out a worried noise for her 'daughter'. "I know", the Doctor muttered as he crossed the console room floor "James, Amy Nasreen take Mo to the med bay. I'll be there in a moment".

"But where is it?" Amy asked.

"Ask the TARDIS", the Doctor replied in a much harsher tone than he meant to. Amy didn't blame him though, she knew he was more concerned with Alyssa than being polite. Not even waiting to see if they had any more questions, the Time Lord disappeared into the corridor to his and Alyssa's bedroom. When he reached the door, it swung up by itself. "Thanks dear", he said entering. The TARDIS closed the door behind him.

The Doctor sat down on the bed, the Time Lady still in his arms. "I'm sorry love. I'm so, so sorry", he murmured, pressing his face into her hair.

"You don't need to be sorry, its not your fault", Alyssa said quietly.

"But it is", the Time Lord insisted and she looked up at him "I failed to stop you from being taken from the earth. If James didn't show up when he did…" he trailed off, not wanting to finish the sentence. The red head reached up and touched his face.

"It's ok", she said softly "I don't blame you" she then showed him her ring "And I'm not going to go anywhere. Its you and me and our baby. All of time and space at our fingertips".

The Doctor took her hand and pressed a kiss to it. "I love you", he proclaimed, he placed a hand on her stomach "both of you".

The door opened and the pair looked over to see James standing there "um, sorry to interrupt but Mo needs your help", he said.

"I'll be right there", the Doctor said and looked back at Alyssa.

"Go. I'll be ok", she assured him, sensing his reluctance to leave her.

"I'll stay with her", the meta crisis offered.

"I won't be long" the Doctor promised, dropping a kiss on top of her head before setting her on the bed. He then left the bedroom.

"How are you feeling?" James asked, perching on the edge of the bed.

"I'm fine", Alyssa replied "just glad to be out of that…place". She shuddered at the memory of being held prisoner in that lab. The ginger haired man put his arm around her, hugging the Time Lady to his side.

"Yeah I'm glad you're out of there too", James agreed.

"How did you know I was going to be in there?" Alyssa questioned, curious.

"Spoilers, love", the ginger replied which made the red head move away from him.

"Don't call me that", the Time Lady said, sharply.

"Sorry, it's just habit", James admitted. It was hard to stop himself sometimes thanks to the Doctor's memories.

"I know. Its just…hearing you say that it reminds me that the old you isn't around anymore", Alyssa said quietly.

"You miss him", the meta crisis murmured.

The red head nodded "very much", she whispered. James wiped away a tear that rolled down her cheek with his thumb. Alyssa couldn't help but lean into his touch. Brown eyes gazed into her green and golden flecked ones. Slowly James leant in, his lips barely brushing against Alyssa's when the door to the bedroom opened again. Quickly the meta crisis moved away from the Time Lady as it was the Doctor who'd come in.

"I've got Mo stable and now I need to go get Elliot back from the Silurians", he told them "I wont be gone long".

"Be careful", Alyssa said, getting up from the bed.

"Me? I'm always careful", the Doctor insisted causing the Time Lady and meta crisis to exchange glances.

"You're a trouble magnet", the pair chorused. The Time Lord hung his head as the two of them laughed.

"I-I'm going to go", the Doctor mumbled and made a hasty exit. James watched him go, highly amused. He turned to Alyssa only to find that she was looking at him in a way that he hadn't seen for quite some time. Before he knew it, the Time Lady was kissing him!

"I'm sorry", Alyssa said, breaking away from him "I shouldn't have done that. I'm in love with the Doctor… I-I'm engaged to him…I…" she was cut off when the ginger pressed his lips against hers.

"You don't need to apologise", James said softly, caressing her cheek "it was this version of him you fell in love with after all".

"I know. I just…I'm just confused. You are the man I fell for but you're also not. I realise that doesn't make much sense".

"Actually it makes plenty of sense", James told her "I was made from his hand which both you and Donna touched. So I am the Doctor but also not. Just like the Doctor I have his memories…as well as the feelings that accompany them".

"You love me as he did. I mean does", Alyssa stated and the ginger nodded.

"I love you so much Ali. I've tried to ignore it for as long as I could but I can't deny it any more", James admitted, taking her hand "I know that you feel the same way".

"Yeah, I do", Alyssa confessed "I don't want to feel the way I do towards you but I can't help it" she sighed "so what do we do now?"

"I think you should get some more rest. You've been under a lot of stress which isn't good for you or the baby", James suggested "and when the Doctor gets back I'll tell him about this little development".

"I'm not sure he'll be happy that we kissed", Alyssa said "He isn't exactly a fan or yours".

"True", James agreed "but I'm sure I can bring him around". He doubted that he would be successful considering that it was ages before the Time Lord accepted the fact that the two of them were in love and it was never going to go away.

"Good luck", the Time Lady said with a smile "you're gonna need it".

James touched her face and kissed her softly "that's all the luck I need", he told her and she blushed. Alyssa watched him walk to the door and was about to open it when the room suddenly shook. The Time Lady yelped as she stumbled forward, almost falling if the ginger hadn't caught her. "Are you alright?" he asked, straightening her up.

"Fine", Alyssa replied "Sexy? What was that for?"

It wasn't me sweetie. The Doctor is taking off, rather hastily

"Why?" the red head questioned.

Get to the console room and you'll find out

The Time Lady glanced at James "we got to get to the console room", she said. The ginger nodded and they left the room.

When the pair reached the console room, they discovered why the Doctor was leaving in such a hurry. "Let go of me!" Amy exclaimed, wiggling in his grip "Rory isn't gone!"

"Amy, I'm sorry but he is", the Doctor insisted "and you need to keep him in your mind. Don't forget him. If you forget him, you'll lose him forever".

That made Amy stop trying to escape "y-you mean he's being taken by the same light that took those Clerics on the Byzantium", she said.

"Oh god", Alyssa breathed, leaning against James, feeling Amy's grief and despair. She'd hadn't felt that since her grandmother had died.

The Doctor let her go "yes", he replied. She spun around to face him.

"But I still remembered them", Amy said "and you told me it's because I am a time traveller now".

"They weren't part of your world. This is different. This is your own history changing", the Doctor gently cupped her face "It's going to be hard, but you can do it, Amy. Tell me about Rory, eh?" he urged "Fantastic Rory. Funny Rory. Gorgeous Rory. Amy, listen to me. Do exactly as I say. Amy, please. Keep concentrating. You can do this".

"I can't", Amy said, tears filling her eyes.

"Yes, you can", Alyssa said, coming over to the pair "I know what it's like to lose someone I love and if I couldn't remember them, I'd be truly lost".

"I'm sorry, Ali but I can't", the ginger sobbed.

"Yes you can", the Time Lady repeated "and I'm going to help you" she place her fingers on Amy's temples "close your eyes", she instructed.

The young woman did so "what are you going to do?" she asked.

"Help you focus on Rory", Alyssa answered "I need you to remember everything you can. His face, his smile…the first time you two met and when he proposed to you". Amy's brow furrowed in concentration as she did her best to recall what she could about her fiancé. As she thought about Rory, the memories flashed through Alyssa's mind as well.

Before she could do anything to 'cement' the memories of Rory into Amy's head, the TARDIS came to a jarring halt, throwing them all to the floor and breaking Alyssa's mental connection. Immediately James rushed to the Time Lady's side, helping her sit up. "You ok?" he asked.

"I'm alright", she assured him.

"Amy? Do you remember Rory?" the Doctor questioned, taking his eyes away from the ring box that had fallen off the console and landed in front of him.

The Scottish woman looked at him confused. "Who's Rory?" she asked. Alyssa's hearts dropped and she sagged against James. If she had more time she could've gotten Amy to remember Rory. But it seemed that she was going to have to mourn the dirty blonde for her.
