and I can see us twisted in bedsheets

At the hotel, Remus books them a room with a bed to share. Turns out that Sirius is one step ahead...

"Can't believe we were there so late," Sirius says, pulling Remus into the door of the hotel. "God, I'm knackered. Need to sit down." He pulls out his wallet and takes out a few notes. "On me, yeah? I hope they have some twin rooms. Cheaper than two singles." His arm is thrown over Remus' shoulders and he's a little more cuddly than usual. Always the way when Sirius has had a couple of drinks.

Remus nods. He knows Sirius isn't a fan of a room by himself. Sharing rooms at Hogwarts helped, then a bunch of short term relationships and one-night stands just so Sirius doesn't have to be alone.

Remus knows that Sirius planned this. James and Regulus' wedding has just reminded him that he's very alone and he doesn't want to have a room to himself. Remus is happy to share a room. More than happy. He'd gladly stay in Sirius' room every night for the rest of his life if it helped Sirius stop the relationships that hurt him, and stopped the one-night stands that broke him a little more each time.

Sirius, as much as he likes to pretend, isn't cut out for those sorts of relationships.

"Yeah, I'm a bit short," Remus agrees. He's not, but he knows that Sirius will feel better about the situation if he believes he's helping Remus out. "Just like you."

Sirius glares at him over the dig about his height. It's always been a sore point for him, being shorter than both Remus and James. "We'll get a cab in the morning," he murmurs. He moves across the room to the chairs and takes a seat, wincing as he takes the pressure off his feet.

Remus walks to the counter. "Please tell me you have some rooms," he says.

The woman smiles at him, her gaze moving to Sirius. "We do," she confirms. "Just for one night?"

Remus nods his head. "We've just been to a wedding in the area. We were going to get a cab home, but it's late and… well, thought we'd come here tonight instead."

She taps away at her computer. "I've got a room here a little away, so you won't disturb any other guests by your late arrival." She holds up the key and winks and Remus realises the implications of what she's saying. She passes over the receipt and Remus glances at it.

Sharing a bed, as well as a room. Remus opens his mouth to tell her that he wants two beds in the room, but the words die on his lips.

He's had a few drinks - one or two more than Sirius anyway, and… well, he doesn't have that much sense anymore. He can't get past the idea of sharing a bed with Sirius.

"Right," Remus murmurs. He hands over the money, not even counting it out, and the woman takes what she needs and hands the rest back. When the booking is done, Remus thanks the woman and walks over to Sirius and hands him the change. "I'll give you my share in the morning," Remus says faintly. He's really doing this.

"Come on, let's get to our room," Sirius says, getting up and grabbing onto Remus as he winces from the ache in his feet. "Too much dancing. Remind me not to do that again."

"As though you'll even listen," Remus says with a laugh. Sirius had danced with everyone at the wedding at least once. James several times, and then decided that Remus was going to dance for the rest of the night with him. Even the slow dances, and Remus is not going to forget Sirius' arms holding him. He'll never forget that.

Sirius smiles as they walk down the hallway, and it doesn't take long to get to their room. Remus hands the key over to Sirius, and he waits for Sirius to say something as he opens the door.

Sirius merely takes a quick glance around the room. "Bed looks comfortable," he murmurs. He pulls off his suit jacket and tosses it to the side. "Which side do you want?"

Remus can't think. Is 'under' an option? How about 'on top'? He manages to keep his mouth completely shut somehow, and Sirius turns to grin at him. "Oh, I know - I'll take the side closest to the window." He doesn't kick off his shoes, but takes the change from Remus. "I saw a Tescos on the corner, luv, I'm going to get a snack, I'm starving. Want anything? Or just some chocolate?"

"A bottle of water would be good," Remus says, hiding the shake in his voice. "I'm gonna… I'm a bit cold, I'm just going to get under the covers."

"I guess we're going to have to sleep naked," Sirius muses. "Gotta re-wear these clothes tomorrow." He winks at Remus before letting himself out of the room.

Remus strips down to his boxers, his heart racing. Surely Sirius wasn't serious… right?

"Sirius. Is that a box of condoms?" Remus can't help but ask, staring at the items as Sirius unpacks the bag. "Did you go out for condoms?"

Sirius nods his head as he reaches up, taking off his tie. He tosses it onto the bed before glancing at Remus. "Did you really wear a vest to the wedding?" he asks.

Remus nods a little self-consciously. "You know I get cold sometimes."

"It's warm in here. You should take that off," Sirius says. He takes off his shoes and socks, before starting to undo his shirt buttons, and Remus wonders why he's taking so long. Remus wants to see some skin.

"Why did you buy condoms?" Remus asks, his voice a little more than a whisper as his eyes follow the movement of Sirius' hands. The shirt is removed and tossed over the chair, and Sirius starts on his belt.

"You see, I called ahead to the hotel," Sirius says. "You know, to check the rooms. You picked this room, Remus. Now, maybe you picked it for a reason, or perhaps not. But it occurred to me that if you picked it for a more enjoyable reason, we gotta be prepared."

"I… the woman assumed… I didn't want to be rude…" Remus stutters, eyes wide.

Sirius smirks. "Of course she assumed. When I called, I mentioned we would be here shortly, and said we'd want a double. It was a test, luv. If you corrected her and told her that we needed twins, well, that tells me everything I need to know." He pulls his trousers off, and Remus has no words.

"But you didn't. Means you want to share a room. Sirius' fingers pull on the waistband of his extremely tight underwear, and Remus knows he's fucked, but he honestly doesn't care. As long as Sirius takes those pants off.

"Oh, you're going to have to work for that," Sirius says, correctly guessing what Remus wants. "You want me naked, you gotta take them off yourself. So… here's where you tell me to fuck off, or tell me to fuck you."

Remus nods. "Perhaps… I want…" he sighs. "Okay, fuck me."

"Good. James knocked some sense into me earlier. He pointed out that we could be happy together, said dumb shit about settling down. It sounded like…" Sirius shrugs. Though his words are dismissive as though he's not that interested in it, Remus knows Sirius well enough that he can tell Sirius actually wants this. Wants the whole settling down thing. Remus can't be unsure here, because Sirius is doing what Sirius always does and is playing this off. Knowing Sirius, he's already telling himself that Remus won't want more, or that he's not worthy. He can see it in Sirius' expression.

"I fancy you," Remus tells him bluntly, because it's clear now that Sirius fancies him, otherwise he wouldn't have gone through this trouble. "But I'm not looking for a one-night stand, or a quick fling, or even friends with benefits." He reaches to take off the vest, glad that the room is only dimly lit and hides the scars from his bite. "I want this, but only if this is going to go somewhere after tonight. Otherwise, keep those pants on."

Sirius stares at him for a long moment, and Remus smiles reassuringly at him.

"If you want me, I'm around for the long-haul," Remus adds "But I need that same reassurance from you."

Sirius walks over to the bed, grabbing the tie as he does so.

"You know, I've always wondered what you'd be like if I tied you up," he says. "How about it?"

Remus raises his eyebrows.

"You can tie me up next time," Sirius adds, a little more softly. "And the time after that, and… whenever you like. Because… because we'll make this work, yeah?"

"Yeah," Remus agrees. Sirius climbs on the bed and crawls towards him, stormy-grey eyes fixed on Remus.

"Good. Because I don't think I'll give you up, now that I've got you!"

With that, he crowds into Remus' space and without warning, crashes their lips together.
