Chapter 11

Chloe walked into the Kent house where Lois was on her laptop downstairs; she was absorbed in whatever she was doing. "Hey, Lois." she greeted her.

Lois looked up and noticed her cousin standing at the door. "Hey cuz."

"Have you noticed anything about Clark today?" She asked. Lois asked what she meant and Chloe explained. "He was acting weird just a minute ago. He and Kara just flew off suddenly."

"No, I haven't seen him today actually."

"So, speaking of Clark. Is there anything you'd like to tell me?" Chloe walked over to the table and sat down next to Lois.

Lois closed her laptop. "Yeah, Clark told me that the cat's out of the bag. We never wanted you to find out that way."

"Why didn't you guys just tell me? And when did this even happen? Last I checked, you two couldn't be in the same room for five minutes without butting heads."

For a moment, Lois was tempted to tell Chloe the truth. She quickly decided that Chloe really didn't need to know about the future. But telling half of the truth couldn't hurt. "We knew that it would raise questions if people saw us together, especially so soon after he broke up with Lana. So, we decided to keep it on the down low for just a little bit."

"It was a shock, when Lana called me to say that Clark had ended it for good. For as long as I've known him he obsessed over Lana relentlessly. Of course I was going to have questions when I found out that Clark and my cousin, who barely seem to get along, are seeing each other."

"You know if I'm being honest," Chloe continued. "I saw this coming. I just didn't think it would be so soon."

"What do you mean you saw this coming," Lois asked, confused.

"Ever since you came here last year," Choe stated. "I remember when I first noticed it, this chemistry between you two. It was that day you dunked Clark in the tank after he joined the football team."

"Really," Lois was surprised.

"You, brought this life out in him. In a way that no one else has ever been able to. He is always so serious and brooding. Like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders, though now I know why. I've never seen anyone get to Clark the way that you can."

Lois smiled, " I really like him Chloe. Just know that we are both serious about this. And we never, wanted to hurt you by keeping it a secret."

"I know Lois," Chloe said, smiling. "Anyway, I think I found something on our resident super computer." She pulled out a map of Smallville and opened it on the table.

"For the past few months have been reports of power surges and outages. Residents have said that sometimes their power would skyrocket before returning back to normal. And other times when their power would go out randomly before coming back on a few seconds later. The power company investigated the area but found nothing."

"What does this have to do with Brainiac," Lois asked.

"Look what is at the center," Chloe pointed to an area of the map that she had circled. "There is an open field right in the middle of where all these power surges were reported. What if these surges or outages are related to highly advanced ship we can't seem to find? What if it has been closer to home this whole time?"

"Get your keys," Lois said before getting up. Chloe followed her out the door as they went to investigate the area.

When they arrived they saw the ship right in the middle of the field. They also saw Kara, trapped in a cage and unconscious. There was a green meteor rock right on the outside of the cage.

"Kara!" Lois shouted as they ran over to her. She tried lifting the cage but it wouldn't budge. "Chloe, get rid of the Kryptonite!"

Chloe grabbed it and threw it off into the distance. She turned back to Lois, asking if Kara was alright.

"Kara. Kara, wake up,"Lois called.

"Come on Kara," Chloe said as she knelt by Lois at the cage. Kara began to come around. The sun was shining bright, giving her strength as she opened her eyes. The blonde kryptonian groaned as she slowly lifted herself up on her arms. She looked to see Lois and Chloe on the outside of the cage.

"Kara, are you alright?" Lois asked.

"What happened?" Chloe followed up.

"It was...it was Brainiac. He made himself look like Kal-El and lured me out here." She told them as she sat up. "I saw the ship and then he trapped me in this cage."

Lois and Chloe both looked at each other. "Where is Clark?" Chloe asked.

"I don't know," Kara said. "Brainiac must have him too." She stood up then. "You two might want to move back."

After Lois and Chloe were a safe distance away, Kara used her heat vision to blast a hole in the cage before breaking out. "I have to find Kal-El. "

"Chloe," Lois said. "That crystal is back at the house. We need to go back and get it now."

Kara flew off as Lois and Chloe got back in their care and drove toward the farm. Kara flew high above the Earth, using her super hearing to try and find Clark.

Clark walked into the fortress with Fine following behind him. They walked over to the console as Fine pulled out a black crystal. "If I do this, you'll tell me where Kara is." He stared straight ahead, not bothering to look at Fine.

"As agreed." Fine said. "I'll never understand human emotions. It is so easy to use people's own emotions to control them. Like fear, for example. Instill enough fear into people and you can get them to do just about anything. Take you, so afraid something might happen to your cousin. Here you are, about to do exactly what I want, just to save her."

Clark turned and looked at Fine, his brow furrowing in anger. "I am going to make you pay. Believe that."

Fine held up the black crystal, "Do it."

Clark snatched the crystal out of Fine's hand and turned back to the console. He gripped it tight, gritting his teeth at what he was about to do. He lifted his hand to stab it into the console, but before he could, they were interrupted by Kara landing in the fortress.

"Kal-El, stop!" She called.

"Kara, you're okay!" He sounded surprised, and relieved.

"How did you get free," Fine demanded to know. Before he could get an answer, Clark dropped the crystal and sped over to Fine, grabbing him by the shirt in anger.

"I'm ending this Brainiac." He then punched Fine though the fortress and into the snow outside.

He erupted out of the fortress and dragged Fine across the ice, punching him repeatedly. Fine grabbed Clark and threw him into the ground. Fine punched Clark through some ice and intro the water.

Kara flew up and punched Fine. He went flying back before shooting up into the sky. Kara followed before being hit with heat vision from Fine, sending her falling back toward the ground. Clark flew out of the water and chased Fine as he flew off toward Smallville, Kara following after them.

Clark caught up to Fine and grabbed him from behind. He flew them into the ground before pulling Fine up to his feet. He turned Fine around to punch him into a windmill, knocking it over. Fine stood up and fired his heat vision at Clark. Clark fired back and their heat vision collided. Kara caught Fine by the head and pulled it back, Clark's heat vision hitting Fine.

Fine took off again and the two kryptonians chased him once more. They finally made it to the ship, which is really the brain interactive construct. Two more copies of Fine emerged from it. "If you will not release Zod, I will kill you both here and now. Then I will take this planet's knowledge and be done with it."

"I don't think so, Brainiac," Clark stated. Kara flew at one of the Fines, but was grabbed by another one, while the third punched her across the field.

"Two against three. Just how do you plan to beat me?" Fine stated. Suddenly, a golden lasso grabbed one of the Fines by the neck, pulling him back before being hit with a punch, sending him crashing into the ship.

"How about we even the odds?" Diana said as Clark smiled at her arrival. Diana extended her hand to Kara and helped her up. "Come sister, let us put an end to this monstrosity."

"And now who are you? You are not a kryptonian." Fine demanded.

"This is why you're not going to win Brainiac," Clark said as he walked up to Fine. "You might be able to copy yourself. But I have friends that I can count on. You're just a machine. You're not capable of understanding that. That's why you're the one who is going to fall here."

Clark delivered an uppercut to the Fine that was right in front of him, knocking him up into the air. The other two Fines charged at Kara and Diana, who began fighting them.

A car pulled up while they were fighting, Lois and Chloe getting out of it with the crystal that would end Brainiac once and for all. "So who is Xena over there?" Chloe asked, noticing the newcomer.

Lois smiled," Someone who can kick some major ass."

Fine hit Clark, knocking him out of the air and into the ground. That was when he looked up and noticed Lois and Chloe, with the crystal. "You two get that to the ship! We'll hold them off,'" Clark called to them. They nodded before Clark flew back into the air.

"What is that," Fine demanded to know.

"You're not the only one with a few tricks up their sleeve," Clark said before charging at Fine.

Diana dodged a punch from the Fine she was currently engaged with and used her foot to sweep him off his feet. She raised her fist and brought it down on fine, creating a crater in the ground with a roar.

Lois and Chloe climbed onto the ship. They were stopped, having no idea where to stab the crystal. "So do we just stab this thing anywhere?" Lois wondered aloud

"What? You mean you guys had this big plan to stab the crystal into the ship and never knew how?" Chloe asked in disbelief.

"Oh give me a break Chlo, it's not like Jor-El gave us a manual." Lois replied.

The Fine battling Kara noticed this, and began to fly at them only to be stopped by Kara. She grabbed him and pulled him back, punching him away. "You're going to pay for what you did to me." Kara told him.

That Fine flew at Kara, grabbing her and kneeing her in the stomach. She hunched over in pain before Fine punched her across the face, knocking her to the ground. "You are nothing but a weak and pathetic life form."

Fine knocked Clark to the ground, before landing behind and grabbing him in a headlock. Clark struggled to break free but Fine's hold was tight. Clark blasted off into the air and came back down on his back, creating a crater. Clark rolled over and began pounding on Fine.

"Oh hell with it," Lois stated before slamming the crystal down into the ship. The brain interactive construct began to glow.

Everyone stopped fighting when all of the Fines began to glow as well. Clark stood up and began to grin, they had done it and he knew it. "What is happening?" The Fine in front of him asked.

"Like I said, you're a machine. And just like any computer, we infected your system with a virus," Clark told him. "This is over."

All three Fines finally melted back into a liquidy, black substance, then faded away into nothing. The ship then glowed with a bright white light. Clark sped over and grabbed Lois while Kara grabbed Chloe and flew them away to a safe distance before the ship was destroyed for good.

They all stood up and looked over the now empty field. It was finally over, Brainiac was gone. Diana walked over to them, asking if it was really over.

"I think it is, "Clark told her. "I don't think we'll ever be seeing Brainiac again. I don't know what made you come to help us, but thank you."

Diana smiled, "Consider it returning the favor. After you freed me from being controlled, it was the least I could do."

She then turned to Kara, "You did well, sister."

"And you were... so cool," Kara smiled. "Who are you?"

"I am Diana, princess of Themyscira." She smiled. "If you ever wanted some instruction, I would be glad to teach you how to fight and use your power efficiently."

"Really? " Kara asked with excitement. "What do you think Kal-El?"

"Well Kara," he began. "I'd like to say no, but the truth is it's your decision. If you want to go with Diana, I know you'll be in good hands. But, why do want to go?"

"You have a great life here Kal-El. And, clearly you have found your path in life. I know, your mother would be so proud of what you've become," She told him. "But, If I am going to live here on this planet, I need to find my own path. And I can't do that here."

"I understand," Clark nodded. "You need to be true to who you are."

"Thank you, " Kara said as she hugged Clark. "For everything."

"Don't be a stranger. Come back and see us soon," He told her.

"I promise."

"Diana, I'm trusting you to watch over her for me." Clark said.

"Do not worry Kal. This will not be the last time we see each other." Diana said as she and Clark shook hands. Diana and Kara then turned to leave. He then turned to Lois and Chloe.

Before he could get a word out Lois grabbed him and smashed her lips against his, kissing him hard. Chloe stood and watched in stunned silence as the two made out right in front of her. The two eventually parted.

Chloe coughed, getting their attention. "Oh hi, are you two finished.?"

"Hey Chloe, look…" Clark began.

"Clark, it's okay. Lois and I already talked." Chloe told himl. "How about we go home? You know, now that we've saved the day and all." Lois and Clark laughed.

"Yeah," Clark said.

Note: Well, that is about it. There is going to be one more chapter to finish this thing off. Thank you for reading. This was an idea I could not get out of my head after seeing the Smallville portion of crisis. If you didn't have a problem with it, that is fine. Like I said, in isolation there is nothing wrong with that scene.

I spent ten years of my life watching Smallville. I did not follow Clark through this whole show, seeing his journey to becoming Superman to just accept that this is how it ends.

I wanted to write this as a big middle finger to the creators of the Arrowverse that I was not going to just accept it. I wanted to throw their scene right back by having Clark realize that he fucked up and come back as Superman. The way that it should be.
