"As much as I'm delighted to declare about our triumph. The triumph is nothing if we are unable to recognize the sacrifices made by thousands of people in both wars. There are thousands of people lying under graves as we speak and we shall not forget that they all have sacrificed which has helped us in achieving independence. As the temporary Minister of Magic, I'm proud and privileged to announce that we shall honor these people with Order of Merlin." Kingsley paused when everyone shouted and clapped, he knew everyone has lost someone they loved in the wars but the most who have lost is the man who fought for it since he was fifteen months old and Kingsley can surely see his eyes glistening with tears but a smile in his face.
Harry Potter smiled. He regrets the deaths of his parents, Godfather, his honorary Godfather, and Fred's the most but he also knew that nothing can be changed and he'll make sure that they never regret dying because of him.
After Kingsley's speech, everyone sat in the great hall and started talking and consoling each other.
Kingsley's eyes roamed towards Harry who was talking with Hermione and Ron. He stepped towards them clearing his throat
"Harry, You shall come with me. We have to talk regarding a few….. people." Kingsley smiled at him and Harry nodded
Kingsley followed by the Golden Trio reached towards the side where the death eaters were tied with magical handcuffs and the Slytherin students were standing not a few feet away from them.
"I want Rodolphus Lestrange's fate to be Dementor's Kiss and that too after he's tortured into insanity as he did to Neville's parents," Harry answered without any emotion
"And I believe that this time Mr. Malfoy will not repeat that 'I was imperiused' statement. It has become too old. Don't you think Kingsley?" Kingsley nodded with a chuckle
"They don't deserve any leniency and make sure they pay for all the pain they had caused to innocent people." Kingsley nodded and signed the aurors to take them.
"What about Snape?" Kingsley asked
"Dumbledore was cursed and would have been dead even if they hadn't staged the act. But like everyone he has destroyed many innocent's lives and he's one of the reasons why my parents were snatched from me. Only if he didn't open his mouth years ago, my parents would have been alive. He shall be punished for his share of crimes and he shall not be allowed to teach in Hogwarts anymore." Snape nodded, well, he knew he deserved it.
"About the others, if they have the dark mark, arrest them and leave those who weren't involved in the war." Harry looked at Kingsley who nodded and assigned the aurors to check the students for the dark mark.
"Let's go to borrow. Mother shall be waiting there for us." Ron asked and the other two nodded
"Dobby" Harry called
"Yes, Master Harry. What Dobby can do for the Great Master Harry?" Dobby asked excitedly
"Take Narcissa and Bellatrix to the Malfoy Manor. I shall think about them later." Harry explained thoughtfully
"And keep eye on them" Ron added to which Harry nodded
Borrow
The Golden Trio reached the Burrow.
"I hate apparition" Ron and Harry grumbled
Hermione shook her head
"Molly" Hermione asked as they entered the burrow
"Oh! Hermione dear. I'm glad you came back. Harry, Ron why did Kingsley had stopped you all?" Molly asked worriedly
"Well looks like the Ministry is shattered into pieces. Kingsley told us that most of the dark and light families are killed in the war including important ministry officials. If I'm not wrong then it'll make them more than a year to fill the gaps. Because all the important officials were either killed or become death eaters and Kingsley is worried that if they're given a trial. It must again let some of the dark families be freed like Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyal, and many more. That's why Kingsley wanted me to decide what to do with them. Any witch/wizard who has the dark mark is subjected to at least two years of Azkaban and those who participated in the murders and tortures of the muggle-borns and muggles. They are subjected to stay in Azkaban for their whole lives." Harry finished
"You did good Harry. Now you all must come and eat quickly. Your parents will be so proud of you Harry." Molly said smiling but Harry could see a ting of grief in her eyes
"How's George Mrs. Weasley?" Harry asked
"For now, he's utterly quiet. I'm worried that he becomes depressed. Though he wishes to speak with you" Molly said and left to her kitchen
Harry nodded hesitantly
The dinner was too silent. Everyone was trying to cope with this war. It had greatly affected Harry after Remus, Tonks, and Fred's loss that he was trying to think that only they were associated with him that they died. He was resenting himself for being the reason of pain for so many people's death.
The next few weeks were spent visiting the funeral of people who fell in the war. The hardest was of Colin Creevey, Remus, Dora, and Fred's.
Harry finally met his Godson, Teddy. Teddy smiled and morphed his hair just like his Godfather. Harry was in awe hugging his Godson he looked at him longingly and decided to adopt him as his heir and son. He didn't want Teddy to grow as an orphan.
2nd June 1998
It has been a month since the war. The wizarding world is still in chaos. The vote for the minister of magic position had started and people were keen on making Kingsley, the new Minister.
Being a member of Sacred Twenty - Eight, the Pure-Bloods supported him while being a member of Order and staying closely with Harry Potter and his friends he got the support of the muggle-born and the half-bloods, and other light families.
Kingsley hopped he can finally change people's views and help everyone in making a peaceful society.
Tonks House
Andromeda sighed. Harry had floo-called her asking her to meet at Burrow. Well looks like finally, she'll meet her sisters.
It has been one month since her precious daughter was killed by her estranged eldest sister who was currently a 'guest' in Malfoy Manor along with her estranged baby sister. She remembers how close they were. And now? Thirty years later, she is fidgeting when imagining their reactions.
A baby's cries snapped her to reality. She smiled slightly at the two-month-old Teddy.
Only if Dora and Remus would have lived, carrying her grandson she changed his spoilt nappy cooing him, and hugged Teddy tightly.
I will always protect you, Teddy. Andromeda thought
Burrow
"What are your plans for now Harry?" Harry looked at Molly who was knitting a sweater
"Tomorrow I'm going to Gringotts to claim my lordship and from there I am going to Malfoy Manor. It has been a month and now I think that both the black sisters shall accept their fate." Molly nodded worriedly
"Are you sure you will be fine Harry?" Molly hesitated " I mean, I know you shall stay fine but what if they try to harm you?" Molly added worriedly
"Don't worry Molly. I'll take care of myself." Harry shook his head
"So have you thought what are you going to do now?" Molly inquired
"Yeah, I'm joining the Auror training from July, and I'll complete my NEWT in private. Kingsley wants me and the other members of the DA to join the Auror training and I don't think that it will be that bad. Moreover, it was my dream since I was enrolled in Hogwarts. And I have been thinking about my and Ginny's wedding also. I just want an official family now." Harry shrugged
"Yes, I'm pleased to know that she has chosen you but Harry dear, you shall not hurry. As much as I love to officially add you to our family. Marriage is a big deal and I want you and Ginny to understand each other completely. And right now just teenagers you have your whole life to marry. I must say at present you shall right now concentrate on your career first." Molly caressed her surrogate son's hair.
"Thanks for always supporting me Molly." Yes, he was at home now.
