Diana had been busy getting caught up with things her first couple days back. Hank had seen more of Ed and the kids than Olivia had seen of Diana. The weather had been pretty crappy and SVU had been pretty slow the last several days. Olivia was only working 3 days, since she and Hank were going to spend the weekend at Trevor and Olive's house in the Hamptons. Even if the weather was crappy, they still planned to spend that time alone. Diana had called the Pub and ordered lunch for the entire SVU squad. Once she ordered it, she left her office and headed over to SVU. Once she arrived, she went up.

"Hey, Captain."

"Hey."

"How was Ireland?"

"Wonderful."

"Amy and Beth can't stop talking about it and neither can my parents."

Olivia came out her of office.

"Hey."

"Hey."

"I wasn't sure if you came back or not. We've seen Ed and the kids more in the last couple days than we've seen you."

"I know. I've been trying to get caught up. I ordered lunch for all of us and it should be here soon. What are you and Hank up to this weekend?"

"We are spending the next 4 days at Trevor and Olive's house in the Hamptons, while Noah and Rachel get to spend the weekend with their big sister. We had 6 kids last weekend. Erin and Jay went to see the newest Halstead without Camille and Trevor and Olive went to his step-sister's wedding."

"I told Jay he was an idiot for doing that. I knew you two were upset with us for just leaving the way we did."

"Pictures?"

"Of course."

Erin showed Diana the pictures of Mia.

"She is adorable. She looks like Will."

"Yep. She does."

Then Trevor came in.

"Hey, Trevor."

"Hey. I figured I'd drop the keys off now before I forget. I have to be in court this afternoon anyway."

"Thanks."

"No problem."

"How's Olive?"

"She's doing great. I think I'm more nervous about this than she is. She's done this a couple times and I'm the one that is inexperienced when it comes to this baby stuff."

"You're doing great so far with Daniel and the twins."

"What do I know about taking care of an infant though?"

"Jay had the same concerns when I was pregnant with Camille. I had a little more experience with kids than he did because of Daniel."

"Ed was pretty uncomfortable around Noah when we started seeing each other but now he's got two of his own. Almost. He is so good with Kara and Brandon."

"We're hoping it'll be soon and yes, he is amazing with Kara and Brandon."

Then Patty came in.

"Hey."

"Hey."

"Hey, Mom."

"Aunt Diana, by the way, Jeff and I were talking and we decided that we want you and Uncle Ed to be the godparents to the baby."

"You're sure?"

"Yes. He's my favorite uncle and I've known you for a long time anyway."

"We'd be honored. Thank you."

"You're welcome."

"Here's your order."

"Thanks. What do I owe you?"

"It's on the house."

"You don't need to do that all the time."

"You're family. You all are."

"I've asked Edward many times if he would have introduced me and Noah to all of you and he said he may have."

"We've asked him that too and none of us would have minded having you for a sister-in-law either."

"I cared about him and I still do but I didn't love him the way I loved Hank. Ed and Noah get along a lot better than they used to."

"I need to get back. Use any rooms you want to, including the master bedroom. The refrigerator and freezer are fully stocked. If it finally quits raining, you have the pool or the beach."

"Thank you so much. Are you sure you don't want us to pay you?"

"You are very welcome and no. Have a great weekend."

"Thanks again."

Trevor left and headed where he needed to go.

"Are you and Hank headed to the Hamptons this weekend?"

"Yep. I can't wait."

Everyone sat down and ate. Patty sat for a while too.

"Thanks for lunch, Captain."

"No problem. I haven't seen much of my sister since we've been back and apparently, I won't see her until Sunday night or Monday. Rollins and Carisi, how was Disney?"

"Wonderful. We even had a productive visit with my mother, so Jesse got to spend some time with her grandma. We wanted to tell everyone that Jesse is gonna be a big sister by the end of January."

"That's great. Congratulations!"

"Thanks."

"So, then it's just Erin and the boys that will be going out the most."

"You're ok with that?"

"Yep. I'm perfectly happy only going out when I need to. Erin has been doing pretty well since her surgery. When the weather is damp, I'm sore."

"Me too."

"A part of me thinks I overdid it in Ireland with my leg even though it was a gunshot wound. I do want to go back though."

"It is so amazing there. I would love to go with Jeff but without the kids."

"We could do that for our honeymoon instead of Hawaii."

"I would much rather go to Hawaii."

"You decided on Hawaii?"

"Yeah. Olivia was telling us about the place where she and Hank stayed when they went that had a spa. That sounds amazing."

"That was where Jay and I stayed too. It was so amazing."

"I'd rather stay on a beach somewhere anyway."

"We would love to send my parents somewhere on their own where they aren't stuck with the kids. They moved in with me once my first wife was killed and they've been with the girls ever since. They went to Disney with us and they were in Ireland but that was with the kids. They have always wanted to go to Alaska, so we are looking into getting them a cruise for that that is maybe 10-14 days."

"Talk to Olive's parents when you get a chance. Their cruise was for 10 days, so they'll be back this weekend sometime."

"We will do that. I would love for them to have a break from the kids."

"The kids can come stay with us for a week. It's not like we're complete strangers and we are becoming grandparents to the girls."

"True."

"I was glad Eddie came with us because it gave us a chance to get to know our grandson better."

"He feels more comfortable with everyone now and the fact that Aunt Diana and Kara were there too, helped I'm sure. He's known both of them a long time."

"Surprisingly, all 4 kids were spending a lot of time with Dylan and Hailey. They need the practice and since they don't spend a whole lot of time with Pat's kids or Emily's kids."

"Dylan and I were always closer anyway. Kind of like Uncle Ed and Aunt Erin."

"True."

"Emily hasn't had much to do with me since I've been back."

"They all missed you but I think she had a harder time with you being gone, since she really looked up to her big sister."

"We've been talking about wanting to have you and dad, Dylan and Hailey, Pat, Emily and their families over for dinner some night. The kids and Jeff's parents got to know them pretty well but he really hasn't yet."

"I will check everyone's schedules."

"Ok."

"So, are Kara and I the only ones in this family who aren't Irish?"

"I'm not."

"No. Junior was the only one until the grandkids, who didn't marry someone Irish. None of us cared who our kids married as long as they were happy and their spouses treated them well. Kevin and Kristin are siblings and have known Patrick and Emily since they were all young. As far as we're concerned, once you're a part of this family, you're Irish."

"Was Ed's first wife Irish?"

"No."

"What is the age difference with your kids?"

"3 years between each of the 3 older kids and then 5 years between Emily and Dylan. I had a miscarriage between them, so we waited before we tried again. Shauna and Dylan are more Tucker than I am willing to admit sometimes. The other 2 are more like Jack. Shauna was always close to Jack but there was nothing Junior wouldn't do for her and she had him wrapped around her little finger ever since I can remember."

"I am so sorry about the miscarriage."

"Thanks."

"I had one a little over a year and a half ago. Sometimes I think about what could have been and get upset."

"I know how that goes. How far along were you?"

"8 weeks. I never told Hank until later that week after the procedure."

"That's where I was too. I was at the Pub and it was lunch time. Shauna and Patrick were in school and I had just gotten Emily down for a nap. My stomach had been bothering me and at first I thought it was just indigestion, which happened a lot when I was pregnant. I had been having pains that I was thinking was my appendix. Junior had been at the Pub and he could tell something wasn't right. He had his squad, so he rushed me to the hospital. I could not believe how fast he was driving through the streets of Manhattan to get me there. Cops and firefighters drive like maniacs.

All of them nodded in agreement.

"Anyway, Mom called Jack at the Fire Station and he met me there. I had already miscarried by then and I also needed an appendectomy. Ed would not leave until I got out of surgery because he wanted to be there for Jack and he kept in contact with Mom."

"My story wasn't that exciting. I left work early because I wasn't feeling right and I ended up driving myself to the hospital. I found out I miscarried, had the procedure and stayed overnight. They told me I had cysts on both ovaries, so that along with my age was probably why it had happened. I called my nanny to come get me and we went to get my vehicle later. She had taken Noah to daycare but he was with us when we went to get my vehicle. He asked why it was still there and I told him I was too tired to drive home. I hated lying to him. I called Fin and told him I wasn't coming in the next day, which was my birthday. I basically spent the day alone and cried. Ed called me and asked if he could take me to lunch but I told him that I wasn't really feeling all that well. The end of the week, we were going to Chicago for Hank's retirement and I had to break the news to him. He told me he would have come back and that I shouldn't have had to go through that alone. He would have felt better if someone from my squad had been with me or he would have been fine with Ed being there for me. I ended up telling Noah later. That was the same day Olive had the twins. Hank and I were leaving for a cruise for our delayed honeymoon and after we returned, my hysterectomy was scheduled. My squad was there, Rafael was there and so was Ed. Al drove out here with Olive the kids, which was when she and Trevor first met. That's also the day Rachel came into our lives. That was a year and a half ago."

"So, you and Hank had a long distance marriage?"

"Yeah but it was only for a week. Long distance was hard but we made it work."

"It's nice to be able to talk to someone who has been through what I've been through and even though it's been 20+ years for me, it's still hard."

"If you hadn't miscarried, would you have had more?"

"Probably. At one point, I wanted 6 kids like my parents. After the miscarriage though, I decided I didn't want to go through that again. I was about Shauna's age when I had Dylan. I could have but I chose not to. Erin was smart to have only 2. She had 1 of each. If I had decided to do that, I had had 1 of each already."

"Hank lost 3 kids. His son Justin was a twin but the girl was a stillborn, Justin was just gone 2 years and then the baby. He lost 2 in one year. He found out over a year ago that Erin was his and he mostly loves every minute he spends with Noah and Rachel. They can both be a handful at times."

"Olive is done after this one?"

"That's what she says. She's going to have 4 kids under the age of 5. That's a lot."

"You're right. There were no more than 3 of us at a time under 5."

"It's not like they won't have help because they have the nanny, her parents, us and his mother. Her sisters-in-law have offered to help out in any way they can too. I think his mom will be helping with Katie and Josh's baby. Olive still doesn't know if she wants to quit her job after the baby comes. She loves her job and she likes being able to contribute to the household finances. Trevor doesn't care either way."

"They also have the 2 places."

"Hank and I did offer to give him money for using the house especially if we're using the electric, gas and water but he said it wasn't necessary. While they were on their honeymoon, Hank and Dan went over and painted the nursery. Nicole, Adrienne, Denise, Katie, Erin and I are going to shopping for furniture and all that fun stuff. If Colleen can get off, she'll come in too. We're planning a baby shower for them. She never had one when she was pregnant with Daniel and didn't want one when she was pregnant with the twins."

"You're welcome to have it at the Pub."

"We were thinking about having it on a Saturday or Sunday in August."

"That shouldn't be a problem. I should probably get back."

"Thanks for bringing lunch."

"No problem."

Patty left and everyone finished lunch after she hugged Shauna, Jeff and Diana.

"I should probably get back too."

"Ok."

"Have a great weekend."

"I hope to. I guess Ed is staying with the kids until Erin and Jay get home."

"If you need any help, give us a call."

"We will. We never know when we'll both get a case."

"That's just it."

"Since I'm on desk duty, I can stay with them too."

"At least we have backup just in case."

"We'll have to do something when you get back."

"We will. I guess you guys are still having the poker game on Friday?"

"Jay wants to and he asked pretty much everyone that comes over anyway. The only one that won't be there is Dad."

"He's mine all weekend. I'm sure we'll check in."

"I'll see you Sunday I'm sure."

"Yep."

Diana hugged Olivia and then she headed back to her office. Several hours later, Hank called Olivia when he leaving the house. Once he arrived, she got into the SUV and kissed him before they left and headed to the Hamptons.
