A/N: I don't own any of the characters except my own.

A couple weeks had passed. Olive was adjusting well to being the mom of 4 and Trevor had been absolutely amazing. Maggie was sleeping in their bedroom but Trevor was great about getting up with her in the middle of the night, so Olive could sleep. They always alternated who fed her. Olive would nurse her and then the next time she ate, Trevor would give her a bottle or if someone was over, they could give her a bottle. This was new to Olive. When Daniel was born, Justin had been doing his Army stuff, so she nursed him more than anything. Once the twins came along, she was grateful she mostly had Hank to help her out but it wasn't the same. This time though, she and Trevor were in this together and he had already proven that to her from the moment Maggie had come into the world.

Denise's surgery had gone well and she was on the road to recovery. She was temporarily living with Trevor, Olive and the kids. Her rehab was going well. She loved spending so much time with her grandchildren.

Diana had gone for her appointment to get the results of her biopsies and the she had asked Ed to stop at SVU afterward. They arrived and then Ed helped her out of the car before they headed up.

"Hey, Captain."

"Hey."

"How are you feeling?"

"About as good as can be expected. I just came from my appointment to get the results of the biopsies."

"How'd it go?"

"They were benign, so now I can breathe a little easier and this guy can stop worrying so much. We're heading over to the Pub after this, so we can tell the family. His mother and sisters have been at Church almost every day since my surgery praying that everything would be ok."

"That sounds like them."

"My ma was too."

"Lucy said her mom was too. I do appreciate it. Where's Olivia?"

"She had a meeting with Dodds."

"Everything ok?"

"As far as I know. None of us did anything that I know of."

"If one of us did something, it would be IAB she'd be talkin' to and not Dodds."

"Yeah, true."

Then Hank, Al and Meredith came in.

"Where's the Boss?"

"In a meeting with Dodds."

"Is she in trouble?"

"As far as we know, no."

"How'd your appointment go?"

"It was fine. The biopsies were benign."

"Good."

"What are you and Olivia up to this weekend?"

"Not a whole lot. Erin, Jay and Camille will be gone."

"Chicago?"

"Yep."

"When are you leavin'?"

"We have a 6 o'clock flight."

"How's the baby?"

"She's great. The last time Jay talked to Will, which was the other night, he said she has grown so much since we last saw her. They're thinking about coming out here for Camille's birthday."

"Does Owen like being a big brother?"

"He does."

"How are things goin' at the Langan's?"

"Things are going quite well. Trevor gets up during the night with her. During the day, they alternate who feeds her. She didn't get a whole lot of that from Justin because he was doing his Army stuff when Daniel was born. I did what I could to help with the twins. I was over there the other day, while Daniel was at school and took the twins off their hands for a while. Dan does the same. The two of them really make a great team."

"Olive really lucked out with him."

"She did."

"How much longer are you off?"

"Another 4 weeks."

Fin got a call, so the 4 of them left. Amanda and Shauna were the only ones left. Fin had also contacted Olivia, who said she would meet them there. Everyone else decided to stay at the Precinct for a while. This case ended up turning into a hostage situation. Olivia and Erin ended up going inside. The ones still at the Precinct had heard everything that was going on. Even though Diana was off, she still knew what was going on. Amanda and Shauna were getting as much information as they could on the perp. The perp wanted to talk to someone higher up. Not a Lieutenant. In the meantime, Chief Dodds had come into the Precinct.

"Captain."

"Chief.

"How are you feeling?"

"Better. Thanks. Is there someone en route to the scene that's higher than a Lieutenant?"

"As soon as I can get some information on this guy, I'll go. HNT was at another call and no one would be available for another 20 minutes or so but it could be longer."

Amanda and Shauna gave Chief Dodds everything they could find on the guy and then he headed to the scene. Everyone else headed there as well. When they arrived, Chief Dodds was on the phone with the perp. Al and Diana knew that Hank was about ready to lose it as both his wife and daughter were inside that house. ESU had arrived but Jay was told that he could not be involved. He saw Hank, so he went over by him.

"They told me I couldn't help."

"With good reason."

"Yeah, I know."

The guy was not listening to anything anyone had to say. They then heard gunshots.

"Go in, now!"

They rushed towards the house, rammed the door and went inside. Hank had a bad feeling and so did Jay.

"Call a bus! Officer down! Perp is dead."

Hank's heart sunk. The officer down was either the love of his life or his daughter. Jay felt the same way. The officer was either his wife or his mother-in-law. He didn't care what they told him. He took off and ran into the house. The officer that had been shot was Olivia but he had hit her in the shoulder. Erin was the one, who had shot and killed the perp. The ambulance arrived as did Melinda. Erin had come out of the house with Jay and Hank knew. She saw Hank and ran over to him.

"Erin, how is she?"

"She is in a lot of pain but she was hit in the right shoulder."

They wheeled Olivia out and Hank ran over to her.

"Hey."

"Don't scare me like that again."

"The only reason I'm still alive is because of Erin."

They put Olivia in the ambulance. Hank went over to give Al his keys and then he went back over to the ambulance. He got in and rode to the hospital with Olivia. Jay had convinced Erin to get checked out, so they headed to the hospital and then everyone else headed there as well. Fin, Sonny and Jeff stayed at the scene until Melinda was done. When they arrived at the hospital, Katie was at the desk and had seen that Olivia was the patient. She told the Paramedics which room to put her in. They came in right away and then they took her to xray. Diana had her badge, so she went in.

"Did they take her to xray?"

"Yeah."

"I need to sit. Katie, could I get a wheelchair?"

"Sure."

Katie had one of the orderlies get Diana a wheelchair.

"Thanks."

"No problem.

Hank and the orderly helped Diana sit down.

"How are you feeling?"

"Pretty good. How's your foot?"

"It's getting better. Josh and I have been working the same shift, since I can't drive."

"I'm still off another 4 weeks. Apparently I need it but I'm bored already. I'm constantly listening to my scanner to find out what's going on. Ed and I had stopped by the Precinct after my appointment and then when we found out it was a hostage situation, we all headed to the scene."

"It has to be so tough being a cop."

"It is."

Erin was still waiting for her results and had seen Hank and Diana, so she came out of the room she was in and wrapped her arms around Hank. Jay was with her.

"How's Mom?"

"She's getting xrays done right now. She said if it wasn't for you, she'd be dead?"

"Yeah. He threatened to kill both of us but he had something against Mom for some reason. He had already hit her in the shoulder and had the gun pointed at her head. I wasn't about ready to let him take her away from all of us, so I did what I had to do. He wasn't listening to anything anyone was telling him and he didn't care who he hurt."

"Thank you."

"There's no need to thank me. I would have done it if it had been anyone else in the squad too. I love her too."

"I know. I'm at the point now when I just get so nervous when she leaves for work every day. You and Jay too. Not that I don't care about the rest of her squad because they're also a part of the family but I don't want to bury another wife. I want us to grow old together."

"I know. I loved Camille too and yeah, I get scared that I'm not going to see my daughter or husband again. You have no idea what was going through my head when he had that gun pointed at her calling her just about every name in the book. He was purposely staying away from the window, so they couldn't get a clear shot."

"Obviously he wasn't overly intelligent or he would have taken your weapons from you."

"He shot Mom with her own weapon."

Diana rolled her eyes.

"I just love cases like this."

"Yeah, sure."

Then Olivia came back just as IAB showed up.

"Captain."

"Hi and no, I'm not working. I was visiting SVU when all this happened. Right now, I'm a family member but I did hear Detective Halstead's account of what happened."

"Ok. How are you feeling though?

"I'm doing better. Thanks for asking."

No problem. How about you, Lieutenant?"

"It hurts like hell."

"I bet. Erin, can we go talk?"

"Yeah, sure."

Erin too the person from IAB back to the room she was in, so they could talk, while Jay stayed with Olivia. Olivia then told Diana what happened, which agreed with what Erin told her.

"Babe, I'm going to go call Lucy and Trevor and Olive to let them know what's going on. I'll be back."

"Ok. I love you."

"I love you too."

Hank kissed Olivia and then he went to make his calls. Not too long after Hank left, Josh and Dr. Jensen came in.

"Hey, Olivia."

"Hey."

"We have your results already. You do need surgery."

"Great."

"I'm seeing fragments from the bullet in your shoulder but at the moment, there doesn't appear to be much structural damage to your shoulder. We will know more once we see what we're dealing with. We need to get you in as soon as possible, so the fragments don't start to move."

"Ok. Jay, can you go find Hank?"

"Sure."

Jay went to find Hank, who was standing outside. He ended the call and then they went back.

"I need surgery."

"That's what Jay said."

"Did you need to identify the bullet for anything?"

"I was shot by the perp with my own gun, so we know what it is."

"Ok. We'll be taking you up in a few minutes."

"Ok."

Josh and Dr. Jensen left and then Erin and Lieutenant Philips came back.

"I need to have surgery."

"Jay, I think we need to postpone the trip to Chicago."

"I was thinking the same thing. We can go see Will, Nat and the kids anytime. Right now, they need us here."

"Ed and I will do what we can too. I'm pretty useless right now but he can still help out."

"How'd your appointment go?"

"They were benign."

"That's good."

"I'm going to go call Will. Do you want me to call Antonio?"

"Al said he'd call Trudy once we knew what was goin' on."

"Ok."

Erin and Jay hugged Olivia, Erin went back to her room to wait and Jay went to call Will. He also told Olivia's squad, Al, Meredith and Ed. Diana hugged Olivia and wheeled herself out into the hall, so everyone else could hug her before she went into surgery. Hank went with her to pre-op and then took her into surgery. Al called Trudy and Hank had called Lucy and Olive back. Fin had called Rafael, Casey, Alex, Don and Munch to let them know and Ed called his family. Hank, Al, Meredith, Ed and Diana went to the cafeteria, while the squad stayed in the waiting room.

"I don't miss this."

"Me neither."

"If you need help, Hank, let me know. If Lucy needs a break, I can come over and stay with the kids."

"Before all this happened, Lucy had actually asked for the rest of the week off. She said if I need her to change her plans, she will."

"Tell her not too. Since I'm sure you'll be staying here with Olivia tonight, I'll talk to Erin and Jay and find out when they want me there in the morning."

"That works. Thanks, Meredith."

"No problem."

Erin had been released, so she and Jay decided to grab a bite to eat. When they joined the group, Hank was on the phone with Lucy again.

"What time do you two leave in the morning?"

"Usually 7:30ish. You're watching the kids?"

"Yeah."

"I'm actually planning to be off the rest of the week. I was advised to because of the ordeal. I don't know what Jay is planning to do."

"I'll probably still go in but I told them that right now, I needed to be with my family."

"That works."

"If you want me to come over, I'll still come over."

"That would be great, actually. It's easier not to have to have to take everyone to take Noah or Rachel to school."

"I can't believe Camille is almost a year old."

"I know. It's so hard to believe."

"Was Will ok with you postponing?"

"Oh, yeah. He, Nat and the kids send their love and they hope Olivia is better soon. He said they've been talking about coming in the weekend of Camille's birthday."

"Good."

"Are you staying here tonight?"

"I'm not goin' anywhere. I told her I'd be here when she woke up and I am a man of my word, especially when it comes to her."

"Diana, do you think I'm going to get in trouble for what I did?"

"As far as I'm concerned, no but I'm not the one investigating it."

"Lieutenant Philips is new though, right?"

"Yeah. The one that was there when I was shot at that situation at Kara's school transferred out. I guess he was there for a while."

"He was there when I was there. He's the one that investigated me with what happened with my cousin."

"I'm really trying to have IAB working with the units instead of against them like in the past. When something comes up involving any of the officers, we investigate it, like today with what happened with Olivia and Erin. We haven't had as many problems with dirty cops as we did before both Peterson and Doyle were killed. Sometimes these shootings can't be avoided."

"I wasn't about to let that guy kill her though."

"I would have done the same thing."

They kept talking and once everyone was done eating, they all went back upstairs to the waiting room. The rest of the squad went to grab something to eat as well. Rafael, Don, John, Alex and Casey all came in but they had missed the others.

"Anything?"

"She's still in surgery. Thanks for being here."

"No problem. Fin thought we'd like to know."

"I'm glad he called you."

Everyone sat and talked for a while, which seemed to help the time pass faster. The squad had come back from the cafeteria and joined everyone. All they could do was wait and it seemed like it was taking forever.
