Everyone sat and waited to find out about Olivia. Hank was anxious to say the least. He sat with his elbows on his knees and pinched the bridge of his nose. He was also playing with his wedding ring. He was glad he had the people he had there with him. Then Lucy came in with the kids.

"Hank, have you heard anything?"

"No."

"Noah and Rachel wanted their dad and Camille wanted Mama and Dada."

Lucy handed Camille to Jay, while Noah and Rachel went over to Hank. Jesse went over to Amanda and Sonny. Noah and Rachel got on Hank's lap and wrapped their arms around him. Then Dr. Jensen came into the waiting room.

"Hank, she's doing fine. We wanted to make sure we got everything and there was a little more damage than we expected but nothing too serious."

"Can I see her?"

"Sure."

Hank left the kids with Erin and then he went with Dr. Jensen. Hank kissed Olivia's forehead, sat down and took her hand. He laced his fingers through hers and kissed her hand.

"I love you."

Trevor had arrived at the hospital. He went up to the surgical waiting room and went in.

"How's Olivia?"

"She just got out of surgery."

"Is she ok?"

"Yeah. It took a little longer than they expected because they wanted to make sure they got everything and there was a little more damage than they expected but nothin' too serious."

"Good."

"How are things goin' for you?"

Trevor sat down with everyone.

"Quite well, actually. Nicole and Dan were over, so I could leave for a little while."

"How's your mom?"

"She's doing great. Her rehab is going well."

"Good."

"Olive's sister and the kids are coming in this weekend to meet the newest member of the family."

"How's she doin'?

"She's taking it one day at a time. I'm glad she and Olive have a better relationship now than they did. She also now understands what Olive has been though. Olive talks to her at least once a week. A good friend of theirs lost his wife about a year ago and he has 3 kids the same ages as hers. He's been around quite a bit helping her out. Olive and her brothers all said they wouldn't be surprised if she eventually ended up in a relationship with him. Dan, Nicole and Adrienne agree. I just stay out of it."

"Do you ever hope your mom finds someone?"

"Definitely. All 4 of us feel that way. She and I have both been through a lot and I am grateful she's a part of my life again. She loves Rick and Colleen's kids and she'll love Katie's as well because as far as they're concerned, she's their mom. They made the choice to call her Mom. Maggie is the only grandchild she has that's hers. It was my choice to have Hank and Olivia be grandparents to Maggie because if Daniel and the twins are going to be staying with them, why shouldn't she? Hank is also sharing Daniel and the twins with her. I also wanted Maggie to have another grandpa, since Dan is the only one she has."

"His only request was to still be a part of their lives if she ever remarried. He had hoped she wouldn't have ended up with someone who would end up hurting them."

"That wouldn't have been me. After what my stepfather did to me, I was actually afraid of getting into a relationship. Most girls only wanted to date me because of the money I would be making some day. Until Olive came into my life, I was never too interested in being in a relationship. I never expected things to end up the way they did though."

"As long as she and the kids are happy. That's all that matters to us. This is the happiest we have seen her in a long time. For the longest time, Hank never wanted to get into another relationship because of the way C amille was taken from him. He didn't want to go through that again. What happened today is what scares him the most and I know he would completely fall apart if he lost her."

"I've known him longer than most people, so I'd have to agree with Erin. Olivia and the kids are his entire world."

"I agree with that too. Not only is Hank someone I have known for years but Olivia is my sister. If she had been killed today, I probably would have quit my job."

"I would have too. Why do you think I did what I did? I know that could happen to either Jay or me at any time but I know what Hank has been through."

"I think we all would have quit. There's no way I'd want to do this without Liv."

"Trevor, I totally get where you're coming from with your relationship with your mom. I never had a good relationship with my mother and I doubt I would have wanted her around my daughter. Liv has been more of a mother to me than Bunny ever was. Jay has never had a good relationship with his dad either."

"Has he met your daughter?"

"He has. He just sees my niece more, since she's in the same city. We were planning to see him when we went there this weekend but we didn't think it was a good time to go with what happened to Olivia. Erin decided she didn't want to go and I was ok with it. Will said they understood because this is Erin's family."

"A lot of us haven't had good relationships with our mothers. I never did and from what Olivia has said, she never did either. I have a better relationship with Ed's mother than I ever did with my own"

"We stopped to see my mom and that was the most civil she has been towards me in a long time."

"Until the last 9 months, I didn't have a good relationship with my mom either. I'm glad to be home though. I missed the rest of my family so much."

"We missed you too, kiddo."

"Lexi and I haven't had the best relationship lately either. I called and left her a message when we were moving here. She replied by text and all she said was 'whatever'. She doesn't care. I started noticing a difference in her since Justin died."

"It's been longer than that."

"It has."

"She and Kara used to be pretty close."

"She babysat for Eddie a few times."

"Yes, she did."

"I feel like it's my fault. Maybe if I had been more honest to both of you about Michelle."

"Well, I finally forgave you for that but apparently Lexi can't. Now you don't hear from either of them."

"It is what it is. This change has been good for us."

"I think so too."

"Honey, was your sister picking up Brandon?"

"She said she would. You ok or do you wanna go home?"

"Right now, I'm ok."

"It's ok if you're not, you know."

"Yeah, I know."

Diana put her head on Ed's shoulder and he kissed her forehead.

"Trevor, when you have time, Ed and I need to talk to you about changing our wills. We never changed them after Brandon came to live with us."

"Have you appointed someone as guardians for your kids?"

"We have."

"Do they know?"

"Not yet."

"After you talk to them, give me a call. I can come to you."

"Ok."

Erin and Patty came in with all the kids. Eddie and the girls went over to Jeff and Shauna.

"How's Olivia?"

"She's out of surgery and everything went well."

"That's good. How did your appointment go?"

"Everything was fine. My biopsies were benign."

"That's a relief. Trevor, how are Olive and the baby?"

"They're doing great."

"I assume you have pictures?"

"Yes, I do."

Trevor pulled out his phone and found the pictures of Baby Maggie.

"She's absolutely adorable."

"Thank you."

"Dan has seen more pictures than I have."

"Adrienne is always over taking pictures."

"We're all looking forward to meeting her."

"You will eventually."

"So, Mom, how was she today?"

"She was good, weren't you, Sweetie?"

"Uh huh!"

"Daddy, can either you or Mommy come talk to my class about what you do?"

"When?"

"Next week."

Amy handed Jeff a note.

"I'm sure one of us can be there."

"It might be me, since I'm on desk duty. Is that ok?"

"Yeah."

"I'll talk to your teacher when I drop the 3 of you off tomorrow."

"Ok."

Amy hugged Shauna.

"We're heading back over to the Pub."

"Ok. Jeff and I need to go to the Precinct first and then we will head over there."

"Ok."

"Erin and Jay, did you want us to take the kids for you?"

"That sounds like a plan."

Jay went down with Lucy to move the car seats and then Erin and Patty took all the kids to the Pub before Jay went back upstairs. Mostly everyone left and went to have dinner. Olivia got moved and then Erin told Hank that Noah and Rachel were at the Pub before she and Jay headed out as well. Trevor went home and Diana needed to use the bathroom, so Ed helped her with that. Al and Meredith went to Olivia's room. She was awake.

"Hey. How are you feeling?"

"Sore but ok."

"Did Ed and Diana leave?"

"Diana needed to use the washroom."

"Ok. That could be interesting, since they don't have raised seats here."

"Yeah."

"That was a pain. She could have used the one in here."

"She said she wanted to stretch her legs a bit too."

"Everyone else left?"

"Yep. Ed's sisters took all the kids to the Pub."

"That's what Erin said."

"Trevor stopped in."

"Oh, good."

"I heard the others were here."

"Yep. They said they'll come see you tomorrow."

"I'm looking forward to it."

"How long are they keeping you?"

"It could be as early as Friday or possibly the weekend but Monday at the latest. I'm on a pain killer and an antibiotic. I've never come out of an anesthesia this quickly."

Then Ed and Diana came in. Diana was walking and Ed was pushing the wheelchair. They both kissed Olivia's cheek and then Diana sat down again once Ed locked the wheels on the chair.

"How do you feel?"

"Sore but ok. I don't think I have ever come out of an anesthesia this quickly before."

"I already said that if you had been killed today, I would have quit my job. Your squad said the same thing."

"Apparently it wasn't my time. I think I want to only go out if I absolutely have to. I'll still do hospital visits but no more situations like today. I would like to see my children and grandchildren grow up."

"I completely understand. Just make sure you talk to Chief Dodds. I also want you to talk to a Psychiatrist before you are cleared to go back to work."

Then Chief Dodds came in.

"How are you feeling, Lieutenant?"

"I'm still sore but I am doing ok."

"Good."

"I don't want what happened today to happen again."

"I think we all feel that way."

"I appreciate what you did to help us. I think I want to only go out if I absolutely have to. I will still do hospital visits though. Right now, we have a squad of 4 with both Sergeant Walsh and Detective Rollins on desk duty but the 4 we have are quite capable of handling things."

"Walsh and Rollins can still do hospital visits too, right?"

"Oh, yeah. I can't keep putting myself into these situations. I need to think about my family."

"That's understandable. I wanted to check to see how you were but I was also looking for Detective Halstead."

"She is probably at Ed's family's pub."

"I think she was planning to take the rest of the week off."

"Ok, good. I was going to suggest she do that. Does Internal Affairs know what your plan is?"

"I just told Captain Edwards but I have not spoken to Lieutenant Philips. Captain Edwards informed me that I need to speak with a Psychiatrist before I am cleared to return to work."

"Detective Halstead should too."

"She mentioned she was going to call in the morning to schedule an appointment."

"Ok. Glad you're ok, Lieutenant."

"Thanks, Chief."

Chief Dodds left.

"What's new with the Tucker clan?"

"Brandon has both of his top front teeth loose, so that's a big deal for him."

"He'll be so adorable with no teeth."

"And he has his school pictures coming up soon, so he'll probably have a huge hole in his mouth for the picture."

"Eddie has one of his bottom teeth loose."

"Guess who needs braces?"

"Must be Miss Kara."

"Yep. She gets them put on next week, which she is not looking forward to but Travis just got his, so they are going through it together."

"Travis is a good kid."

"I see someone is changing his tune about it."

"I am but I don't want her to get hurt."

"She won't."

"How do you know that?"

"Ok, I don't but he was raised better than that. I've known his family for a long time and I trust him completely. She's a smart girl."

"Erin has had some real losers for boyfriends. Let me tell you. Although I liked her with Severide and I didn't always like Jay but he has grown on me. He makes her happy and that's all I care about. That's all I wanted for Olive too."

"I don't always have the best judgement when it comes to men either. Hank was definitely one of the better choices I've made. I'm not saying Ed wasn't but we could have handled that a little differently. I'm glad I got to see a side of you that not too many people have had the chance to see."

"I get it. That was on both of us. I've said this before and I will say it again, I am happy with how things turned out. We're still a big part of each other's lives."

"I am too. I'm glad you're my brother-in-law now."

"As awkward as I thought it would be meeting Ed when Olivia and I first got together, we get along pretty well and I'm not sure I would want to see Diana and Kara with anyone but him in their lives."

"Now that the 3 of you are retired, you're all causing trouble together."

"That we are. If one of us needs something done at home, the other two are there to help."

"That's for sure. When I needed help getting stuff together before Brandon came to live with us, they were a big help as were my dad, brothers and brothers-in-law."

"I appreciate all of the help we have gotten from everyone."

"I do too. If you two need anything, I'll do what I can."

"We appreciate that."

"When I talked to Antonio, he said everyone sent their love."

"Did you let him know how the surgery went?"

"Yeah. I texted him."

"How long are Erin and Jay postponing their trip to Chicago?"

"That I don't know. Jay said Will, Nat and the kids are planning to come out for Camille's birthday. That's not too far away."

"No, it's not."

"What are you planning for Rachel this year?"

"She hasn't told us what she wants to do yet."

"I do have another trip to Hawaii in the works for our anniversary again this year."

"Thank you!"

"You're going to Disney World next year, right?"

"Yeah. We're taking the whole family, including Trevor, Olive and the kids and Ed, Diana and the kids, including Kelly. Do you two wanna dog sit?"

"Yeah, sure."

"Sounds like a plan to me."

"Yours too?"

"No. Ed's sister is taking her as far as I know."

"That's the last I heard too but that's 6 months from now, so who knows?"

"That was nice of you to include Ed's niece."

"It's more for Kara."

"She would have gone anyway because she's never been there. Does that make me a bad mother because I never took my kid to Disney World when she was little? Her first experience with anything Disney was when we went to Paris last year."

"Same with me. Our vacations usually involved going to Ireland every other year. No, it certainly doesn't make you a bad mother."

"I never took Justin anywhere and yeah, now I regret that but maybe that's why I want to include my grandchildren in this. We never did much after Erin came to live with us either. I want to be a better father to Noah and Rachel than I was to Justin and Erin."

"What happened with Erin was all on Bunny though. She's the one that kept her from you for half of her life."

"Yeah, I know. I just want to do right by my grandkids."

"Nikki has you wrapped around her little finger and Camille and Maggie probably will too."

"All the women in his life have him wrapped around their little fingers."

"I know I'm guilty of that."

"Erin obviously does and so does Rachel."

"Kara and I have been guilty of that in the past but now we have Ed. For the longest time, Hank was the closest she had to having a father."

"There's still nothing I wouldn't do for her. You know that."

"Oh yeah, we both know that. We should have done this sooner but we've been talking about it a lot more lately. We want the two of you to take the kids if something happens to us."

"You had me down before, right?"

"Yeah. I never did change anything after Camille died and then Al and Meredith were next for Kara. Who else did I have? We just want Ed's family to still be in their lives. Erin and Dan are next if something happens to both of you.

"We wouldn't have it any other way. We would never keep them from Ed's family."

"Good."

"We have Erin and Jay first and then the two of you. Al and Meredith are next."

"That works for us."

"We asked Trudy to keep an eye out for Lexi for us. After Justin died, she started pulling away from us a lot more."

"Kara took his death pretty hard. We were in the same city but there were times when we didn't even see each other all that much. Up until I moved here, we hadn't seen each other for maybe a year."

"That sounds about right."

"I'm glad we see each other every day and that you are now my brother-in-law."

"I'm glad too."

"Maybe we should go and let Olivia rest."

"Maybe we should."

Diana hugged Olivia.

"Love you."

"I love you too."

Diana hugged Hank and kissed his cheek. Then Ed hugged Olivia and kissed her forehead.

"Don't give them a hard time."

"Would I do that?"

"Yeah, you would."

Olivia rolled her eyes. Ed patted Hank on the back and then he and Diana headed out. Al and Meredith hugged Hank and Olivia and then they headed out as well.

"You don't need to stay."

"I know I don't need to but I want to."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Hank kissed Olivia. Olivia closed her eyes and fell asleep, while Hank stayed by her side. He fell asleep after a while as well. Ed and Diana had gone to the Pub to get the kids and then they went home. Ed let Lola out, while everyone else went upstairs. The kids got ready for bed and then once Lola was done, Ed went to tuck Brandon in. He then went to help Diana get ready for bed. Once she was settled, he got ready for bed and joined Diana. They kissed each other and then both pretty much fell asleep right away.

Erin had taken the rest of the week off and Olivia had been released from the hospital by the end of the week. Olive's sister and the kids had come in to meet Maggie.
