Sorry for not updating fast enough, been pretty busy.
I've been reading your critiques on what I should do with the story.
So here's the number one thing. Subaru literally just has his name swapped with Eren's lines, were gonna stop that and make him just like the Subaru we all know and love. But the AOT story will go in the same direction just with dialog changes.
Another one was to do all the episodes but have them less descriptive until really important parts come up where I can write in detail, we'll do that.
Alright let's do this shit.
The screen started up again to play the episode.
"Wait, wait, wait, hold on a second!" A familiar green merchant yelled. The screen even paused before continuing on to the next episode. "This doesn't make sense to me! We already know about some of Natsuki-san's past and his parents are still alive! We all saw that!"
This revelation started to ripple throughout the crowd. Why were they watching this? Is this even there Subaru that they were seeing in front of them on the screen?
"I finally saw somebody figure it out. Nice one Otto."
The merchant blushed slightly at the praise from the entity.
"It does not make sense to me, I suppose. Betty's contractor came from a world with "modern technology" as he called it. From what Betty see's in front of her it looks no better than were we are from, in fact."
"So wait does that mean Subaru's family is okay? He never watched his mother die in front of him?" Emilia would feel relief if she was right with her question to Screen-sama.
"Kind of."
"Kind of? What do you mean Screen-sama?"
"Paths."
Paths? The audience only looked around each other in confusion at what Screen-sama meant by that.
"Paths? What are paths? Are you talking about roads?" Asked Emilia in her almost constant confusion of anything new.
"You know, paths, like memories?"
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Al blurted aloud. Because of his sudden outburst his dear princess smacked him on the back of the head. "Ow! Sorry." A loud "Hmpf" is all that came from the woman in red.
"Memories? Are you saying these are memories from Natsuki-san?" Otto asked.

...
Emilia in a bit of frustration asked them another question. "Screen-sama do you always have to make things more difficult for us?"
"Did he just go away already?" Said the Sword Saint.
Crusch crossed her arms as she sat back down, a little bit annoyed like everyone else. "It seems so... but why didn't he answer us?"
After a couple of seconds passed with nobody answering there questions on what he meant by "paths" and "memories" the screen only turned back on.
Everyone in the room groaned in annoyance about never getting a clear answer from them.
The all refocused themselves for the coming of a second part of the tragedy they just witnessed in Subaru's life again.
The screen popped up again from darkness, a picture came up of titans devouring humans as they all tried to run away.
The little thief canidate felt her stomach turning at the sight on screen. "Geez..." This new "arc" of Subaru's was going to be filled with this isn't it?
Everyone in the room felt the uncomfortable atmosphere come back again.
"Over a century ago, mankind faced a new enemy." The screen flashed through people trying to run away and defend themselves with weapons against them.
Reinhardt seeking knowledge about Subaru and his home had his notepad in hand again and began to write down. Felt rolled her eyes at her knight being such a nerd.
"The difference of power between mankind and their newfound enemy was overwhelming. Soon, mankind was driven to the brink of extinction."
Emilia's hand covered her lower mouth and face in the horror displayed on the screen. "All those people, they can't fight back." She turned to her knight in relief that he was still alive.
"They are all trying to run away, that gap they are all running in is just full of them." Crusch said.
Julius face scrunched up. "Did I hear that correctly? Brink of extinction?"
"There's so many of them! Look at that! No wonder almost all the people are dead!" Ricardo yelled throughout the room.
"The surving humans built three walls: Maria, Rose, and Sina. They then lived the next century in peace, under their protection."
"Three great walls, okay, okay..." The sword saint muttered to himself as he continued to write down.
A woman in red raised her eyebrow at the current history lesson. "So they have three of these walls protecting them? And how much space do these people have before they overcrowd and eat themselves alive?"
Fire covered the screen as the intro started to play.
Priscilla grunted in annoyance as her question didn't get answered.
The face of a woman on the wall exploded and the title for what they were watching displayed.
Attack on titan
"Attack on titan? That is what this one is called?" Otto asked in confusion
Al snorted behind his helmet at the merchant's befuddled question. "It makes sense if you think about, they are fighting Titans you know?"
"It could have a better title." Said Julius.
As they talked about a better sounding title to the new arc they were watching the rest of the cast had the enjoyment of covering their ears as the new intro was more intense then the one's they have seen already.
"Ah sissy! Rem's ears are hurting from the sudden burst in loud noise." Both twin demons held each other close and covered each others ears as the loud music went on. Roswaal behind them only squinted his eyes as he was too sore from the beatings to move his hands to cover his ear lobes.
Emilia held little Beatrice and covered her ears. "Half elf, Betty can do it herself, in fact!." In her defiance of independence to do things she used her little fingers to plug the holes in the sides of her head.
The rest of the audience repeated the actions of those mentioned before and did the same, some in a show of strength or negligence didn't and sat through the start of the music.
A field is shown and soldiers are standing around in the open in uniform with the equipment they use to "fly" with.
"I'm going to take a guess that these will be the people we will be following around?"
One of the little neko's pointed at the screen. "Oh do you see him!"
A close up is shown of Subaru, Armin, and Mikasa.
Garfiel in Garfiel fashion pumped his fist in eagerness. "Cap'n looks so cool!" He said excitedly, Frederica behind him smiling at her little brother.
The bloodied screen shows the titans marching through the streets. Soldiers are then shown standing in formation.
Subaru and the people standing behind him do the salute.
The duchess nodded her head looking at the military. "So that is their salute."
A giant wall was smashed to bits and now all the characters are gliding through the air and fighting the titans.
People in the audience started to warm up to the intro and were now a little excited for what's going to happen next.
"Did you see the way they were flying like that! It looks like so much fun!"
In the back of the room a certain margrave rolled his eyes and smirked. Flying? Look at what they have to do to even meet a fraction of his power.
"Syuch a mobile army, do you think so Crusch-sama?"
"Indeed Felix, but we haven't really seen how fast they truly are only glimpses thus far."
Subaru was seen flowing through the sky and then came down at lighting speed and cut down a titan straight though the neck.
"Damn!" A big and loud beast man cheered.
"Yeah! Kill that thing Cap'n!"
Soldiers upon the wall were shooting artillery at the giant monsters below. A clip showed soldiers circled around a box and shooting titans that were standing around them.
"What are those weapons Beatrice-sama?" Asked the blue maid.
Beatrice immediately knew because of what her contractor explained to her in one of his stories. "That was some form of gun, I suppose."
Everyone's eyes widened, they were going to see the guns that they heard about in the beginning of all of this? Now this was something they needed to see.
Charging through the steam on top of the wall Subaru was sprinting forward and jumped off to see the colossal titan standing before him.
Emilia felt the sense of fear rising up through her seeing her knight doing something so reckless again. "Subaru no!"
Rem gripped her chair in worry seeing her hero charging forward in danger like that again.
"That's a really good way of getting yourself killed Barusu, you dolt."
The green flag showing the white and blue wings of freedom was shown. A soldier was seen doing a backflip and all of them were jumping from the top of the roofs of houses. The mass of titans before them as they all now rained from the sky. Finally showing the characters standing in the field looking up towards the sun.
"That whole thing was pretty badass if I do say so myself." Al said nodding his head up and down.
"Yeah, I can't wait to see more if it's going to show more awesome stuff like that!" Ricardo agreed
"The way they were all moving and flying around and cutting down those ugly monsters! If we see big bro doing stuff like that the whole this is going to be amazing!" Reinhardt smiled at his lady getting all excited of what was to come. It was nice to not see her in a depressed state for once after seeing so much.
"I will admit, that sequence shows me some promise..." Ms. Barielle said quietly looking at the older version of the half elf's dog performing these actions. 'Now show me what you are made of.'
That Day: Fall of Shiganshina Part 2
Bloodied body parts scattered the ground as everything was destroyed and burning around them. A crow settled down and started picking at the corpses then cawed. The town was shown burning.
Everyone's mood died down as the intensity of the last episode all came back to them now. The reality of what was happening was now here to haunt there watching experience again.
"Until that time a wretched soul and parted." A man was shown walking and reciting a book. A titan was walking towards the man. "From God was I, and wholly avaricious."
The small thief felt her eye twitch. "What is he doing?! Everyone is running away and he's walking right towards them!"
"He has a death wish, I suppose."
"Now, as thou seest, I here am punished for it." A woman and child are shown cowering from the titan onslaught. "What avarice doth is here made manifest. In the purgation of these souls converted and no more bitter pain the mountain hath."
A trio of knights all looked at the screen in sadness. So much destruction happening, and all the people had no way to defend themselves against it.
The screen showed a lone woman running down an alleyway fleeing for her life before she found herself cornered.
Ricardo and Al closed their eyes and looked down knowing what was coming.
Emilia felt the familiar sting of tears forming in the corners of her eyes as the woman in front of her had no way to escape her fate.
A shadow formed over the woman as a titan stood over her looking down with a haunting smile.
"N-no..." Muttered a little maid. The older blond maid held the small girl tighter against her as the both watched in fear.
She was grabbed and pulled upwards to the titan. "Stop! Let go!" All that was shown next was her shoe falling on to the ground.
Everyone present had shivers as all they heard were her screams before silence.
"What more, O Avarice, canst thou do to us, since thou blood so to thyself hast drawn, it careth not for its own proper flesh?"
"Why is that man still preachin'? Does he not care at all of what's goin' on around him?" The bewildered merchant princess asked waiting for an answer.
The first one to answer her question was Crusch. "Like before he is reciting verses probably from some holy book. Now that these walls are coming down around him it's probably there version of the end of the world."
"He probably doesn't fear that there time is coming to an end."
The preacher stopped in his tracks as a large shadow finally appeared over him, staring down at him was a tall and skinny titan. "What more, O avarice-"
"He's still going!" Ricardo said exasperated.
A book dropped on to the ground as the man stopped his words.
Priscilla sighed. "Until the end he kept going, I can give him that."
Running down a road a soldier carried two children going as fast as he could. Subaru was finally shown a frozen look still on his face.
"Subaru-kun!"
"Subaru-dono looks mortified."
"He did just watch his mom get eaten by a monster."
"Yeah and the damn coward carryin' him let'r die!"
Turning around in angry tears Subaru started yelling at Hannes. "Why did you leave her behind?! We could've saved her! She's dead! She's dead! Why?!"
"Subaru stop yelling!" Hannes grabbed the small boy from his shoulder and tossed him to the ground.
"Subaru!" Mikasa called out to him.
The duchess of the Karsten house gripped her seat in anger on how this man was treating him.
"Why would he do that to a child? How unbecoming."
"First he let's Cap'n's mom die and now he's doin' this shit?!" The yound demi-human was feeling his blood boiling he was already tired of this.
"Subaru!" Emilia called out to him.
Rem grinded her sharp teeth at the current display.
"Subaru... You couldn't help your mother because you're weak."
Al finally let out his own frustrated sigh. "Alright fuck this guy."
Reinhardt pinched his nose in his own bit of disappointment. "Why would he say that? Shouldn't he be trying to comfort him?"
Subaru was ready to yell at him again before he was stopped. "I... I couldn't face the titan. Because I was scared!" Both of them froze as they stared at each other. "I'm sorry." The trio started to walk away.
"At least the mongrel admits to his faults that he was a coward."
As they walked away the little girl Mikasa put her hand up to her head. Flashing on screen was a dead woman on the floor and a the corpse of a man against the wall. Looking back behind her, "It happened again."
"What was that?" Petra asked in fear, more death was displayed in front of her.
"Those people looked like they were dead."
"Did you hear her? She said "it happened again" she probably lost a family before."
"That explains it to Betty, I suppose. My caring contractor probably took her in after her first family perished."
"And now she lost her second one." Emilia said in sorrow.
The screen cut back to the evacuation effort to try and get the people out of the city. "Hurry to the inner gates! Use the ships to escape! Hurry up if you don't want to get eaten!"
A boat sailed off in the water to the inner walls.
The small, closed-off areas surrounding the walls, such as Shiganshina, were used as bait to attract the titans, fulfilling their roles of lowering costs of defense and military. As a result of this design the people of Shiganshina could escape the assault of the titans by traversing only one gate.
"The people only have one way of escaping, what happens if they were to shut the gate?" Says the purple haired knight.
"Toss all luggage! We might even fit one more if you do that!"
Crowds of people were sitting outside the boat waiting to get on, looking outward was the young blond boy. "Armin, sit down."
"But Subaru and Mikasa haven't showed up yet." He gasped in surprise when he saw them both get on the boat. "They're here!" He was going to wave at them before he stopped. "Subaru...?"
The audience formed a wince on their faces, he didn't know what happened to his friend yet.
"Now isn't a good time to talk to them. Those poor souls. You can tell what happened by looking at them." Armin looked back at him in surprise.
"Don't just stand there! Hurry up! What are you waiting for?!" A titan smashed though a building, with a look of fear on his face he turned and screamed. "Hurry up! They're coming!"
It cut back to the boat on the water. "This can't be happening..."
"God, please save us..."
Everyone started to panic as the boat lifted the bridge to enter it.
"Hey, what the hell are you guys doing?!"
"This ship is full! we're leaving!"
"Please, let us on! Even just my child!"
I'm sorry, but we can't do that! Go!" At his words the boat started moving forward.
Emilia gripped her sides tightly. "All of them are being left behind."
"It was almost at full capacity when Barusu came to it, he barely just got out of there."
"Let us get on!" In there panic people started jumping across the small gap in the water to just get on.
"They are doing everything they can just so they can survive" Ferris muttered quietly.
Loud expulsions rang out as the solider were firing cannons. "You fool! What are you aiming at?!"
"We can't hit moving targets with these!"
"Who the hell cares?! Just hurry and load the next round!"
"I can't!"
As they continued to bicker the gate behind them started to close.
Julius was right the gate was going to close eventually and now everyone was going to be trapped with those monsters.
"The gate is closing!"
"Don't close it yet! Just wait a little longer! We've still got people out here!"
"If they break through this gate, we'll lose much more than this small district! Mankind will be pushed back to the next wall!"
"The man is right." All eyes turned to the red haired woman. "If that gate remains open those beasts would come through and put the rest of this civilization in danger."
"It still doesn't make it right to leave those innocent people behind!" Emilia shouted.
"Use your brains half-wit, would you rather have the remaining commoners in that town die out or put the rest and the one's that escaped in peril?"
"I..." For her own good she stopped responding. The woman in red let out a triumphant "hmpf."
"That doesn't make it right to sacrifice all those people!"
Emilia formed a small smile, at least this "Hannes" guy agreed with her.
Two more men appeared behind them. Hurry up and close the gate!"
"The titans are coming!"
They all began to scatter before everyone perked up at the loud footsteps coming from the town.
"What's happening now, I suppose?"
"Another damn catastrophe I bet."
Stepping forward was a titan different from all the others, tall and muscular, unique plating covering most of it body."
Reinhardt's eyes slowly started to widen. "Is that-"
"Armor?" Julius finished for him.
The armored titan positioned itself for a sprint.
"Oh shit!" Yelled Al.
"What is it?" Asked his dear lady.
"That damn thing is going to run and smash through that gate!" The crowd's mouths opened in shock at the helmeted man's words.
"Damn it! Can this get any worse!"
"We can only watch and see for ourselves."
Lunging forward the armored titan started to run as fast as it could down the road towards the gate.
"Fire!"
The cannons fired as the last bastion of defense to hurt the creature but to no avail. The cannon balls hit all around it, only a few actually striking it, doing next to nothing.
Crusch looked at the screen with genuine fear. "Not even a scratch, nothing it hurting it."
"It's not working!"
"Shit! Run!"
"The titans are coming! Close the gate!"
Smashing right through the wall the armored titan breached the only thing protecting everyone from the rest of the titans invading the walls. Rubble and soldiers are sent flying from the impact.
Everyone saw the gigantic hole that was previously the gate to the city. The realization of the titans now having access to invade the rest of the people' lands now shook them to the core.
The Sword Saint felt his own sloth. Though it was probably impossible he wished he was there to stop that monster from putting any more lives in danger.
Garfiel felt his rage build up oh how he wanted to be there to fight that monster so bad. The shield of the Sanctuary was ready to rip that thing to shreds.
No words were said as they looked at the aftermath of that the armored titan had done. The camps can only look in despair.
"The Gates..."
Opening it's jaw the Armored titan let out a series of flames that engulfed the area around it.
A certain phrase her contractor would say came to Beatrice mind. 'That's just overkill.' Yes, indeed it was.
Within a few hours after Wall Maria had fallen in the southern district of Shiganshina, the news of it spread though the human territories like wildfire.
South of Wall Rose: Trost District
"Is it true that Shinganshina was invaded by the titans? Unbelievable. How could the wall fall after lasting an entire century?"
"The truth is out there. A ship carrying refugees is already out here. It's reported to have over 500 people onboard."
"The question is whether Shiganshina was all we lost."
"But there is no way they could invade Wall Maria..."
Felt looked at the screen confused. "Who are these guys?"
"Must be some important people."
"Anyway, let's contact the center and wait for orders. We can't handle such an emergency by ourselves."
"Orders?" They might just be military."
"Excuse me! We just received word! Wall Maria has fallen and the titans have invaded beyond!"
The screen cut back to Hannes standing on a roof of a house covered in blood, titans coming from the hole in the wall. "This is the end..."
"Nya! He's bleeding from the head." Felix felt his healer instincts kick in from the injured man on screen.
"It's over..."
"The titans will eat us all..."
Subaru was crying. "It's over?" The screen flashed back to his home with his family. "I'll never be able to go back home again. Why... Why did I have to argue with her until the very end?! Mom is dead. She's gone! Why...?" His eyebrows were starting to crease.
"Subaru..." Emilia held her knight's hand gently this time in some pseudo effort to comfort him.
'Because you're weak.'
"I... No, humans are weak. Because we're weak, can all we do is just stand around and cry?" Looking down his tears were hitting his bruised hand.
"I'll erase their existence from this world..."
An uncommon sight before them was unfolding, Subaru was getting genuinely mad.
"Subaru?"
"What's the matter, Subaru?" He would only brush his hand away. "Subaru?"
Subaru gripped his hands on the side of the boat. "I'm going to kill them all. Not a single one will be left to walk this world!" His eyes piercing fiercely into the distance as they rode down into the inner districts.
"Subaru..." Armin said.
The anger in his eyes was a rare sight, but it was something they never liked seeing.
"Barusu's face, it gives Ram chills down her spine."
"Subaru-kun, no..." Those same eyes she saw in one of his loops, seeing her hero like that made her feel nothing but anguish.
Getting close to Subaru Beatrice stayed close with him again. "Betty doesn't want to see you like this, in fact."
"Subaru, please don't... don't do anything rash..." Emilia silently begged into the slumbering boy's ear.
"The eyes of a beast have appeared in front of me once again. He never fails to interest me in some way, whether it be in anger or amusement."
Crusch only sat in her seat in silence at the malice the small child was showing on screen. Someone of that age should never feel that way, or go through the events that transpired. She already knew that nothing good would come from this.
The old sword demon felt a familiar pang in his chest of what he just witnessed. Subaru-dono now holds a vendetta against the creatures that took away something dear and precious to him. Like when that cursed whale took his wife, he felt the same hatred and wanted nothing more than revenge. He feels now that Subaru was on a path to nothing but grief in his way.
That year, the Central Government decided to withdraw all human activity inside Wall Rose. The Titans devoured 10,000 people.
"10,000 people...?" Emilia was horrified, that many people were killed or devoured by them, including her knight's mother.
Another more surprised response came from Felt. "That's how many died?!"
In the waning sunlight a horse drawn carriage is shown with Subaru's father panicked going as fast as he could. "Subaru! Naoko! Mikasa! I pray for your safety." A tear rolled down his cheek.
"Mr. Natsuki is still alive! Natsuki-san still has his father!" Otto cried out in joy.
"He said that he was heading to the "interior" of the walls so it would make sense that he would be alive."
"But my question is how will he take the death of his wife when he finds out?" Al asked aloud.
Ricardo shuttered. "Probably not well I bet."
The screen was slightly blurry now, a single dim flame being the only thing visible.
"Subaru.. Subaru!"
"Dad! Please stop, dad!"
"What the fuck?!"
"Huh? What's going on?!"
A giant needle is shown trying to stab into Subaru's arm.
The smaller one's present Shivered at the giant medical tool trying to prick the smaller boy on screen. Escpically Al since he what it was
"What are you trying to do?!"
"Just give me your hand!"
"No!"
"Subaru-kun!"
"Natsuki-san?!"
"You've been acting crazy since I told you mom died!"
"Shit did his dad really go crazy from hearing that his wife died?!" Ricardo only passed of his comment as the boy's father having a really poor reaction to his wife's death, but not like this.
"It seems he has. What is has got me now is what is trying to stab his son with?"
"He is trying to inject him with something." The helmeted knight answered for them.
A certain trade princess perked her eyebrows up at that. "Inject? Whaddya mean?"
"That needle in his hand is used for medicine mostly. Like you fill it with fluid and you stab it into someone and pushdown and send whatever it is into the person's bloodstream."
"Nyah! That sounds horrifying!"
"Aren't you a healer? That's what doctors back home did for healing or medical stuff."
"It sounds disgusting, to let anything pierce or stab through this perfect skin." Huffed Priscilla.
"Also it sound scary..." Mumbled Petra still hiding in the comforting arms of her superior Frederica.
"Dad please let go of me!"
"Your no good!"
"What are you even talking about?!"
"Don't forget the key!"
"The key?" said Crusch.
"You must make it there! But until then-!"
The bells of a nearby tower started ringing, Subaru woke up in a cold sweat.
"Aight what the fuck just happen' to Cap'n?!"
"Betty agrees, what just happened with my contractor."
"Subaru, are you okay? You were crying in your sleep."
"I don't know, it feels like I was with dad earlier."
"No, it was just a dream."
"It felt so real... I see then..." Looking down Subaru notices that he now has the key to the basement.
They audience's eyes widened at the reveal that Subaru now had the key.
"It wasn't a dream. Barusu was with his father last night. Now the question is where did the man go?"
"Maybe he's out in the town somewhere tending to the medically wounded?" Asked Emilia.
Ram crossed her arms and shook her head. "Unlikely, since that girl Mikasa told him what he was was all a dream."
The green merchant rubbed his brows in his confusion and agitation. So many questions and so little answers it was like watching his friends journey from the start again. Well it technically was.
"Let's go. They're handing out rations." As the two walked they see the massive crowd. "This place used to be the food reserves. The people who came by ships have now gathered here."
"Hey stop cutting in line!"
"Shut up!"
"I haven't eaten anything since yesterday!"
"We will still struggle for our survival." Said Mikasa as her and Subaru watched people fight over food.
"If they lose any more territory the remaining commoners with only eat themselves to death. A terrible and true concept for everyone in the room that understood how these things worked. The more land they lose, the less food is available and then people will now fight for the death for them or their families to survive.
Hopefully as they watched it would never have to come to that.
But knowing how everything usually goes for the sleeping boy they aren't so sure.
"Subaru! Mikasa!"
"Armin?"
"Look I made it! Grandpa got these for us kids!"
As the small blond handed the other two food a guard behind them grunted and looked away in annoyance.
"The fuck is his problem?!"
"Garfiel!" Frederica said sternly. The little brother only grunted as response.
"What's his problem?" Asked Subaru.
"That's how it goes. There's probably not enough food for everyone. This is an entire day's worth."
"They aren't going to last at this rate if that's the case."
There are just too many refugees. There's always been a food shortage, and you know how people always look down on those who live in the outskirts."
"Why do we have to give our food to outsiders? I mean, the Titans broke through the wall anyway. They should've eaten more of them." The three kids can only look in shock.
Emilia reeled back dumbfounded after what she just heard. "What?! How could he say that? All those people just lost everything and now he's saying they all should have just died?" Her knight just lost his dear mother and possibly father and now someone is saying that he should have just died.
A blue Oni maid was strongly gripping her chair just enough to almost break it, this disgusting man should pay for what he was spouting.
"Disgusting." Is all Ram could say, the clown right beside her even frowned at the man's comment on screen.
"Betty wants to blow him apart, in fact!"
"These mongrels so far have just been despicable." Sitting in her chair Priscilla was not having the best impression of this world's military right now, all she has seen so far were cowards and bastards.
Julius rubbed his brow looking at the man's display. "To say that so openly to the people you are to protect, to dare call himself a soldier."
Subaru grit his teeth in anger and started walking towards the man.
"Subaru!"
"Subaru!" Emilia repeated at almost the same time. She looked at his sleeping form and back to the screen in fright at what he was doing.
Oh here he goes!" Al voiced, sounding a little too excited for what was about to happen.
"This will just make the food shortage worse." Subaru then kicked the man in the leg. "What the hell are you doing brat?!" The nasty eyed boy was punched in the face and kicked on the ground by the other guard.
"You have no idea what you're talking about! Have you seen it happen with your two eyes?! The titans, how they eat people."

Jumping in front of Subaru before another beating could happen Armin came and saved him. "We're sorry! He's just a little moody because he's hungry, that's why he's acting like a brat."
"Whatever, you would have been dead without us." He started to walk away. "You kids should learn to be more grateful."
"God dammit..." Subaru muttered silently. "I would rather be dead than to leech off of people like him."
"Man, Armin is a real pal for stepping in like that to save him." Ricardo said.
"Barusu is being brash like always and getting in situations he cannot win by himself."
"The guards could still have just pushed him away instead of hitting him like that..."
At the very least everyone could agree on that somewhat.
"When I can enlist I'm going back to Wall Maria to kill all the Titans."
"Subaru, you're not serious, right?"
"Ha! Oh trust me boy he is." Al mocked.
"Never have I've been more serious! I am not going to be someone that acts tough when behind the walls!" Gripping his bread in anger he throws the bread at Armin. "I don't need this shit!"
"Why is he throwing their only food like that?"
"Barusu is acting like a brat."
"Subaru don't do that!"
"Why? Doesn't this make you mad? We can't do anything against the titans if we we only live off people's pity!"
"It won't matter, we can't defeat them! The only choice we have is to live inside the walls. The three of us can't do anything rash or else we'll end up dead like my parents are!"
"His parents?"
Julius perked his eyebrow. "They must have died for doing something against the law involving the walls."
"Is that why your bowing down and sucking up to them?!"
"It's all we can do now!"
"Your just making excuses! Just keep going living like a caged animal, you puny fuck!" In a second after his sentence Subaru was hit directly in the face by Mikasa.
Emilia covered her mouth with both of her hands after making a small noise in surprise.
"Oh! Right in the nose!" shouted the helmeted man.
"Yeah right in the kisser!" Mimi yelled.
"I'd be surprised if he isn't going to bleed from that." Ricardo commented.
Ferris rubbed his chin. "It will most definitely leave some sort of bruise Nya!"
"Subaru is already much more "aggressive" than the sleeping one we have right now." He turned over to the silent boy on the ground. "That is if the Subaru we are watching is our Subaru."
"Hmpf, Ram is just glad someone shut him up from all that yelling."
"Betty doesn't know how to feel about the retaliation against him, I suppose." Beatrice always has the urge to protect her dear contractor, but after what she saw of him screaming at his little friend he needed to but silenced in some way.
"Ugh... Mikasa..."
"If you say that Armin is weak, then you and me are also weak. When the city fell we couldn't escape by ourselves. The food we are now trying to eat is from other people, even right now all three of us have no chance of taking down a single Titan."
Subaru grunted in frustration and held his bruised nose as blood started falling from it.
"Yeah he's need to plug that nose for a while." The big wolfman said.
"Subaru-kun..." Rem muttered. Seeing her hero in any state of anger or sadness will always make her upset too.
"What we all need to do now is stay alive and survive like your mother said." Grabbing bread from Armin she forced it into Subaru's mouth to get him to start eating. "So for now, Eat. Eat so we can build our strength and survive."
Even with current situation being very serious in context the angle in which it was being shown was to some... a little wrong.
Garfiel turned over to the green merchant to see him trying to stifle his laugh. "What's so funny Brotto?"
"N-Nothing it's just, from this angle it's..."
"Ha! Ha! Ha!" Everyone then looked to see Al having a knee slapper type laugh at the moment. "Sorry you guys but Otto is right, if you look at this a certain way, how she's forcing the bread down his throat all close up like that."
Looking back at the screen and back to the knight some of the faces in the crowd either shot straight red or started giggling.
Julius closed his eyes and looked down in a bit of shame. "Oh, no." No blush on his face was seen but he was clearly covering up his rising smile.
Crusch blushed madly.
Anastasia's face also turned a little pink.
Priscilla was furious. "Al you mongrel!" Slapping him upside the head she held her prized fan up to his throat threateningly. "Do you have no shame? Making jokes like some sleazy."
"Sorry... I won't do it again." He said trying to get the words out of his closing throat.
"As for your punishment you will be my footstool later."
Emilia looked around at the commotion in the theater. Felt was currently having a fit of small giggles along with a awkwardly smiling Reinhardt. Roswaal was even a little amused at the antics. Ram sat quietly but the faintest smirk could be seen, her sister was red in the face. Crusch was trying to keep her professional composure with Felix helping her.
Beatrice just rolled her eyes showing she was above this, though the thought of that image will crawl into her big head.
"Wait I don't understand? What is everyone laughing about again?"
"Yeah I don't get it either." Petra said, tugging on Frederica's long dress she asked. "Can you tell me why everyone's laughing Frederica-sama?"
"Uh- Um- I can explain it to you later, okay Petra?"
She smiled and hugged her superior. "Okay!"
"It's nothing to worry about Emilia-sama." Rem said. "I'm sure when Subaru-kun wakes up he will be the one to tell you what's so humorous." Emilia nodded and turned back to the screen. A feeling a relief crossed through her camps minds, Emilia truly was a pure soul who didn't know anything. Subaru's job will be the one to ruin all of that in the future.
The giggles finally died down and they all could focus again.
"Surrounded by children." Priscilla said.
A few days later, the refugees were all sent to cultivate land and to secure food. But that couldn't prevent the food shortage. In the following year of 846, the Central Government launched a campaign to retake Wall Maria using the refugees.
Crusch gulped in shock. "They are going to what?"
There were two hundred and fifty thousand of them. Almost a fifth of the total population. However, only about a hundred survived. With their sacrifice, the food shortage has improved, albeit a little, for those who survived.
"All of them were just sent straight to their deaths?" Felt said horrified.
"Did you see how almost none of them were equipped? They didn't stand a chance."
Emilia was beyond disturbed. "Just to solve a food shortage? They were all just sent to slaughter?"
"So they wouldn't all devour each other in conflict, the population had to be culled."
"The population is just slowly diminishing at this rate." The sword said uttered out.
Holding on to his grandfathers hat Armin started crying.
"The Titans are to blame for this. If only we could bring them down, we could take back our home and the world as our own again."
Sitting down next to him Subaru started talking again. "Armin, I'm enlisting into the military next year. I'll train hard, I will become strong enough to take the fight to them."
"Me too."
"Wait Armin!"
"Me too!" He said sternly.
"I'll join you too."
"Mikasa? You don't have to join us if you don't want. You said yourself that surviving is going to be the most important thing."
"Yes, and I will be there alongside you two ensuring our safety together."
"I guess that settles it then. All of us will join together."
Mimi and Tivey cheered on. "Friends stick together!"
The scene changed to a bright new day with a clear sky.
"You are now officially members of the training corps unit number 104! Unfortunately for you, I, Keith Shadis, will be in charge. I'm not here to give you a warm welcome. All of you are now merely livestock, waiting to be eaten by the titans. You're even worse than livestock! For the next three years, I'll train you useless shits. I'll teach you how to fight the Titans! When you face a Titan in three years, will you still be just food? Or will you become a glorious wall to protect these walls? Or a mighty champion of mankind who will destroy these Titans? The choice lies in your hands."
After viewing everyone during the commander's speech it finally got to Subaru, a little bit older now.
"Yes, do not worry. Every single one of them is going to die."

"So in the next installment of this we will see Subaru-dono train as a soldier then."
"It will be interesting to see him actually become one instead of declaring himself as one." Julius mused.
"I just hope Subaru will be safe during this..." Emilia nervously commented.
Most of the crowd shook their heads in disagreement especially the knights. If they were talking from experience it's going to be a difficult journey.
"Three years of watching Barusu train to be a the equivalent of a knight in his world." Ram was so clearly joyed.
As they gathered the screen started playing again.
