Chapter 6: A Wild Night Stroll

"Tell me, what exactly do you scare of?"

Quote by none.

We started the story with one man with dazzling orange hair, dressed glamour and dandy in a clean white coat, silk gray scarf and a black bowler hat with a small feather, facing a little girl with black hair with red tips, dressed in red & black goth style in a red hood.

Around the man were several men dressed in black and red suits with red sunglasses, lying on the floor unconscious.

He politely started, as he dropped the burning cigar he was smoking and extinguished it with the bottom of his walking cane. "Well, red, I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening, and as much as I'd love to stick around." He raised his walking cane in his hand to point at the girl. "But I'm afraid that this..." The end of the cane flips up, revealing a reticle scope, and a gun barrel. "Is where we part away."

The cane gun fired, letting out an intense flare of heat blast, with the girl reacting immediately, using the giant weapon that was a scythe but also a high impact sniper rifle in hand to launch herself up in the air before the blast contacted and exploded.

When she landed, she noticed the man had disappeared, quickly scanning around, she found a familiar shadow moving up on the ladder of a nearby building.

Quickly asking the owner of the store that was under robbery, the girl began her chase after the criminal.

The criminal hurries his way up the ladder, hands reaching for the next metal bar as fast as physics law could allow, climbing his escape while grumbling between his quick huff and exhale.

When he made it to the top, the girl had somehow flown all the way up and landed right behind him.

"Hey!" The little girl yelled, her giant red & black scythe pointed at the thief.

"Persist." The said thief stopped briefly, muttered under his breath in annoyance. But weirdly enough, he did not turn around to face the girl, instead, he seemed to be waiting for something.

Just as the girl thinks she got the thief cornered, a mixture of roar between a metallic engine and wind blast breaks the silence of the night, as a silver aircraft rises up from behind the building.

The girl narrowed her eyes at the flying beast, knowing very well that she can't let this guy aboard the aircraft.
However, her resolve was interrupted when the front light of the aircraft shone on her face, blocking her vision.

Using the chance of distraction, the criminal not only aboard his escape route, but also throws two red crystals at the girl's feet. And blast it with the aim of his cane. "End of the line, Red!"

The girl was too late to notice the trap, so she closed her eyes, hand clenched onto her precious weapon, embraced and waited for the worst of the explosion force to hit her small and fragile frame.
But instead, she felt a pair of hands hold onto her shoulder, as the shot landed onto the crystals…

... and she felt nothing. No pain at all.

One Ruby Rose slowly opened one eye to peek around, expecting to see her body slightly burnt, battered, maybe land on the cold floor in defeat, or maybe her sense got numbed from the zero point explosion that she can't tell the situation at hand.

Only to see that she is completely fine. Around her feet, the roof she stood on had scorched burn marks, but her whole body along with her clothes and weapon was now transparent for some reason.

One Roman Trochwick on the aircraft was cheering his small victory as he let out a haughty laugh, thinking he had dealt with a pest & a potential threat in the long run for his future operation.

His celebration, however, was cut short as he noticed that something wasn't right. The spot where the girl was standing was empty, and the girl nowhere insight to be found.

Immediately, he began to furiously scan the surroundings, people don't just disappear suddenly, she had to be hiding somewhere very nearby.

"Throwing a firebomb directly in the trouble? Heh, I dig it." A chilling voice called from behind the little red hood. She turns her head around, to meet a tall man wearing a luxury white suit with a magenta scarf with a magenta diamond pin, with a color matching pale white face and hairs in a very long braid that reaches all the way down to his leg, a pair of thick black eyebrows that stand out, and a small gold crown enhanced with diamond-shaped blue & red jewels rest on top of his head.

The man retracts his hands off her shoulder, and Ruby's body becomes visible to the eye again, thus confusing her and the criminal on the aircraft even more.

"Alright, Red... riding hood, you should go home, cause things are about to go ugly." The pale man orders as he rolled up his sleeves, preparing for some actions.

"Who… are you?" Ruby hesitantly asked, unsure what to make of the man in front of her. He protected her, so that makes him a Huntsman, right?

"Me?" Said man shooting her a glance before smirking. "You may call me The Specter of the night."

Ruby blinked at the unusual answer.

The man rolled his eyes. "Fine, the name is Boo." This only makes Ruby even more confused. Boo? What kind of color is that?

Standing there smugly, one King Boo was happy that this night finally became interesting. Compared to the night of Mushroom Kingdom, the night here in Remnant is boring and dull. Not a single soul out there at night to hang out or have fun, everyone stays at home, all because those black ugly beasts, and said beast doesn't react to his spookiness at all.

King Boo can endure many things, being defeated by Mario or Luigi, being sucked into a vacuum, being revenge pranked by having a bright flashlight shine on his face. He can look over all those things, but not a boring night without a single soul to scare to death.

He is the King of Night for reasons.

And finally, after a week of wandering in the Vale City at night, looking for targets, his effort finally pays. Criminal robbing at night? Hell yeah! It's the party-crushing time!

Chucking because he can hardly contain his excitement, King Boo took out a white-colored halberd out of nowhere. Surprising Ruby even more.

And without any warning, Boo took flight after the criminal. Defying the law of physics right in front of the eyes of Ruby and Roman.

Roman, baffling at the turn of development. Noticing that not only the red brat somehow dodged his surprise attack, but now a different guy is onto him, and is currently flying right toward him. "Oh you have got to be kidding me."

Boo charged toward the criminal as he prepared to swing his halberd. The criminal onboard held his breath as he prepared himself to parry the upcoming attack.

Only for the man to disappear at the last moment, throwing the thief off guard.

"What the… where did he go?" Roman looked left and right, panic-filled his mind, he has completely focused on him just seconds ago. How did the guy disappear from his sight?!

He got his answer very quickly.

"Behind you." Someone whispered near his ear.

The orange-haired criminal turned around sharply, swinging his cane for a low blow at the abdomen.

Only to have his cane pass through the shape of a man as if his body was not there, and the body simply scattered away like mist.

"Hehehehe, quite a sharp reflection, and a mean blow meant to hurt." The whisper continues, echoes in the small metal chamber of the flying vehicle.

Roman scanned all corners of the hangar, yet no one was in sight except the pilot in the cockpit. A great sense of stress builds in his mind.

Clicking his tongue, the master thief decides it is better to leave than wasting time and taking unnecessary risks. He was about to order the pilot to leave the scene.

Only for a pair of hands to hold on to his shoulder, and a guy to jump on top of him from behind.

"BOO!"

"Gah!" Roman loses his cool and his balance, falling on his butt.

He quickly aimed his cane gun everywhere, ready to shoot at whoever was messing with him.

"Hahahaha hahahaha! Ohhhh, you should have looked at your own face! That, was, precious!" The whispering voice echoes again, this time more closer to his ear.

Roman jerks around angrily, swinging his arms and cane, hoping to at least land a hit on whoever this rude trespasser that was on board with them.

This great mystery that was bothering him was quickly answered, as the culprit appeared in front of him, hands behind his back, looking smugly.

"Gee, learn to chill, buddy, you looked tense. Why don't we sit down and talk about it over a fine pot of turtle leaf tea and some Boo Biscuits? "

Roman wastes no breath and no time, firing right at the white man's face. Only to see the shot pass through the smug bastard's face, the dude staying completely still, simply titled his head innocently before continuingly looking at him with a smug grin.

This result was not what the thief had in mind, as he looked shocked, annoyed, wary, and utterly confused. 'Transparent Semblance? Shit.' Roman thought panicky in his mind.

Roman was quickly pulled out of his trance when a gunshot was heard, following by the sound of metal banging.

He and the man in white both looked where the sound came from. And they spot the girl from earlier who was shooting the aircraft they're on with her giant weapon, now transforming into a big sniper gun.

The guy referring to himself as Boo yelled at her. "Hey! I thought I told you to go home, Red hood!"

"But I can help! Sir!" *Gunshot* *Metal banging* "See?" She continues firing at the engine of the aircraft.

King Boo rolled his eyes at the girl's action. "Middling with matters that do not concern you? Sheesh, what do they feed you kids these days?" He was questioning whether he should stop the girl or just roll with it?

Only to have the thief go back on foot and point his cane at his throat, hand on the trigger.

"I would like to know that as well. But I have to ask you to get off this ship first."

Boo cast a bored look at the Roman, lavender orbs meeting green orbs. "And you thought aiming your weapon at me is gonna work? Anyway, are you coming in peacefully or not?"

"I don't think you're aware of the situation at hand, buddy, you're in no position to throw questions nor make demands." Roman pressed the muzzle further into Boo's throat, narrowed his eyes dangerously.

His reply, however, proves to be the wrong answer. As Boo snorted. "Hahahahaha! You got guts, I'll hand you that. However..."

And the thief found four sharp edges of halberd a few inches away right at his neck from all four directions, 4 copies that looked exactly like the guy had surrounded him right under his nose.

Boo replied as he cocked an eyebrow. "Since when were you in charge?" And he flashes the thief a wild fanged grin, a dangerous look glittering in his lavender eyes. Silence the thief from trying anything.

Boo then moves his eyes toward the cockpit, where the pilot is seated, he pauses for a moment as he gets a good look at the back of the figure, raven black hair like a night sky, the beautiful red mini-dress with yellow pattern design she's wearing shows her good figure, and that nice shoulder line.

"Now, ms. pilot, be a good lady and park this ship down, or I'll be forced to do something unimaginable to you." He cackled dangerously yet flirty as he made his order.

The pilot says nothing, as if ignoring the man's order. Boo raised his eyebrow at that, a bit confused and dejected that the lady gave him the cold shoulder.

Without a warning, Boo was suddenly struck with a fire orb right in the face, the force behind the blast launched him out from the hangar.

With the real body hurt, the clones that were surrounding the thief disappeared into puffs of smoke, along with the weapons, and Roman sighs in relief as he rubs his neck frightened.

"Oof!" Boo landed back on the roof where the red hood girl was on, with the girl startled and confused by his return.

Boo immediately picks himself up, brushing his handsome face to check for any damage. "Sheesh, lady, you could've just said no. Blasting a guy right in the face? Even I wouldn't stoop that low." In the back of his mind, he was confused and baffled. 'How did she do that? I didn't see her do anything.'

Inside the hangar, Roman trade places with their mysterious pilot, as their chasers have proved to be too much for the thief to handle.

The mysterious figure makes her way to the hangar, her black glass high heel clicking as she walks toward the opening, her palm holding out and ready, aura-like fire energy surrounds her arms and chest, the yellow pattern on her dress glowing, as if actually heating up.

Taking a few seconds to aim, the mysterious lady threw her hand forward, shooting a blast of fire at her target.

King Boo swung his halberd upward, slicing the blast in half. "Gee, don't you know it's super dangerous to play with fire?" He motions his left palm, as a ball of blue flames appears beside him. "You might get your beautiful face burned. And that would be a big shame."

Sending his hand forward with a handgun, the blue flame fires toward the mysterious lady, who counters the flame with another blast of red fire of hers.

Inside the cockpit, Roman, adjusts the engine thruster, preparing to blast off from this crime scene.

His plan, of course, didn't go smoothly as he hoped.

A cloud of black storm forms right above their vehicle, which didn't go unnoticed by Roman.

Immediately a second right after, rains of jagged icicles pour down on the jet like a heavy hail storm.

"Shit, shit ,shit!" Roman cursed out loud as he not only had to add the power of the engine to ensure the jet stayed airborne, but also cocking the control stick left and right to balance the jet, and on top of these, he had to look out for an icicle that nearly landed on his head.

'Just great, not a single thing is going as planned tonight!'

Back in the hangar, the mysterious woman isn't doing better than she anticipated, she was continuously trading blows of fire with this mysterious Huntsman she does not recognize at all. It would seem that this man's odd blue fire was on equal terms with her fire. more oddly, he doesn't appear to be using dust at all. He just motions his hand and the fire appears to his command.

Knowing that she had to end it quickly, she blasted an intense wave of fireball at him, increasing the amount to overwhelming her opponent.

Boo noticed the upcoming rain of fireball, impressed that his opponent could manage to shoot out these much, but also sour that he can't make as much ghost fire to counter. He sends another wave of ghost fires to block some of it. He was about to turn transparent to completely avoid the rest of the blast, but realized that there was a dang kid right behind him. "Crap!" He shot his head back, knowing that he won't be able to make it in time.

Helplessly watching the fire rain shoot past his transparent body, King Boo closes his eyes to avoid looking at the ugly scene.

'Oh well, it's not like I know her or anything.'

When the smoke scattered, a blonde lady dressed in a white shirt and black skirt with a purple cape was standing in front of Ruby, a purple magic circle blocking in front of them.

King Boo whipped a sweat. "Phew… talk about a close call. Nice save, Goodwitch!" He shot her a toothy smile and a thumb up.

The lady in compliment narrowed her eyes at the man in front of her, then focused her gaze at the giant jet that was preparing to take off. The mysterious lady in the hanger meets her gaze, as the two glare dangerously at each other, until the hanger shuts off.

Notice her attention wasn't on him, King Boo looked behind him, and saw the aircraft take off, flying fast and far away. "Oh."

He hesitantly looks back, and saw one Glynda Goodwitch looking at him very dangerously.

Operation: Crushing party. Failed.

"Well… that could have gone a lot worse."

We change the scene to a very nervous Ruby sitting in a small gray room, beside her is the white huntsman from earlier, who was placing his legs on the table and his arms behind his head without care of manners.

"Sigh" Ruby turned her attention to the man. "You would think that taking care of the injured is the first priority, no, she will drag you straight up to the police station for questioning."

"But… you're not hurt, are you?" Ruby meekly asked.

"That lady on the jet blasted me right in my handsome face. I make a living with my face, thank you very much."

"If you have enough energy making complaints, then that means you're completely healthy." An equally annoyed Glynda Goodwitch opened the door and walked into the room, her arms crossed as she eyed him condemnatory.

"Ouch, how cruel." King Boo grabbing his chest, looking hurt by the comment.

Goodwitch only popped a vine on her head at the insouciant act this full-grown adult is displaying.

Moving her attention away from the troublemaker. She looked at Ruby very sternly.

"I hope that you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken kindly, young lady. You put yourself and others in great danger. And that goes double for you too, Mr. Boo."

"They started it!" Ruby pleaded, with a meek cry that sounded like music to King Boo's ear. Ahh, fear, his best source of entertainment.

"What she said." He chucked, jerk a thumb at Ruby.

Another vine popped up on Goodwitch's head, but she ignored it and continued scolding Ruby.

"If it were up to me, you would be sent home… with a pat on the back..." Ruby showed a relieved smile on her face. "... and a slap on the wrist." Glynda slammed her riding crop on the table, making a loud bang, causing Ruby to jump in fear.

King Boo laughed at Ruby's helpless and yet adorable act.

Glynda aims her riding crop at King Boo's face immediately. "Don't think I've forgotten about you, you're in just as much trouble as this young lady, if not worse."

"Hey now, I'll have you know I tell the kid to go home, it's her fault for not listening to my warning." Boo shrugged, completely not concerned about the wrath of Goodwitch. And earning a betray look from Ruby.

"You could've at least taken her away from the scene."

"And let those hooligans escape?"

"You still let them escape!"

"I don't see you doing a better job than me, and that's saying something." Boo retorts back, snorting as he does so.

"Why you..." Another vine popped up on Goodwitch's head, as a dangerous red aura covered her head.

"Yade yada, bla bla bla, are you done? Can I go now?" Boo holding up his hand to make a talking puppet.

"As if, you're not going anywhere."

"Sweetheart, that wasn't a question." King Boo stood up and leaned at Glynda, then turned his face to Ruby. "Well, hood, it's been fun, but I gotta go, smell you later!" He then flies up and passes through the wall, disappearing from everyone's sight.

Ruby hesitatingly looked at the lady in purple that was trembling in rage.

Outside of the Interrogation room. King Boo immediately met up with a strange yet familiar face.

"If it isn't much to ask, I would like it if you don't push Professor Goodwitch like that." One Ozpin with his coffee mug in hand, and a plate of cookies in another hand walked toward King Boo. "Lord knows how scary she can be when provoked."

"Ehh, I say she needs to let loose. Drop that attitude, or else nobody wants to be with her."

Ozpin chuckled as he shook his head. "Oh, I have been trying to tell her that for a long time."

"Then you simply didn't try hard enough." King Boo reached his hand and grabbed a cookie.

"Say… how was she?" Ozpin asks, looking past the one-way mirror.

Boo looked back, swallowed the cookie pieces before answering. "You mean Red Hood? Idk? I know that she got a badass scythe, but other than that? I got nothing."

"Hmmm..." Ozpin pounder for a moment, then he asks. "What of the person assisting Roman Torchwick?"

"The Lady in Red that's with the Dapper? Black hair, red dress, shooting fires, and nice shoulder line, that's all, didn't even get a good look on her face tho, and she didn't talk at all, so I won't be able to recognize her even if I want."

Ozpin didn't reply, continue observing Ruby through the mirror.

"Although... there's one thing that's bothering me." Boo speaks, suddenly turning serious. "When she attacked me, I felt like she was using Magic instead of Dust."

Ozpin's eye weiden slightly at this, but manages to keep his composure.

"Well, I don't have enough experience fighting people from your world, so there's a chance that I'm wrong, but ehh, not my problem. But who knows? Maybe she's the kind of people you've warned us about from before, although... how exactly did she get magic in the first place?"

Ozpin sigh before addressing the issue. "That's... a difficult topic to talk about, besides, I would need others' approvable before telling you all the detail."

King Boo just laughed at this. "Ha, I already had a feeling it's not that simple or easy, ehh?" Shaking his head, Boo continues.

"Well, one thing is for sure." After munching down the rest of the cookie as he looks through the glass. "If she continues sticking her nose where it doesn't belong, she's gonna get herself killed. Sooner or later." Patting his hands. "I had fun tonight, but not enough, so I'll be going. Smell you later!"

With that, King Boo flew past the wall again, following with a few shock cries from various people that must have been policies.

Watching the odd man leaving, Ozpin can worry about how and what to deal with his special guest later, right now, he has a future promising student to recruit.

The scene changes to a dark room, where one Roman Torchwick is seated on a box, smoking cigars furiously. Tonight has been a total mess. First that the goons of JJ were useless at the finest; Second that a red brat shows up and plays hero; Third a crazy Huntsman almost catching him, and now the Huntsman of Beacon is onto him.

He wasn't sure if this is karma trying to tell him something, but he was starting to regret this partnership with Cinder, he knows for a fact that this crazy bitch was just using him, but again, what choice does he really have? This isn't your normal ambitious psychopath, this is a race genocide ambitious psychopath he's talking about here, do her way, or die.

And Roman Torchwick was all about surviving, even if it means swallowing his pride and dignity.

...

...

...

But more importantly...

It was for her.

"Sigh… what a hot mess." Roman massaged his forehead tiredly, throwing his cigar on the floor, before using his cane to stomp it.

He needs to do something for their situation, he had to, but he have to be extremely careful, one wrong move and it's all over.

If only switching sides were that easy.

*Rumble* The sound of the metal gate rolled up reaches his ear, as the devil showed up.

Mentally sighing in his head, Roman does his best to put up a friendly face.

"Ahh, Cinder, what pleasure do I have for this unexpected visit at this late hour?" It was then Roman noticed that several different people were with her.

And Cinder was not looking happy. Her eyes, that is.

"Roman, after today's little incident, our beneficiary has decided that… we need more skillful people on the team, and I'm here to introduce you both to the future working partner." Cinder calmly answered, but her voice betrayed her, there was a hidden irritation underneath.

Roman wasn't sure what to make of Cinder's irritation, but he knew it can't be good news.

"So… this is the man we'll be working with?" A chilling voice calls from the side, from an empty spot.
Then, opposite of Roman, a figure appears in mid-air, surrounded by an aura of purple malice.
A face that is pale white like a ghost just like the Huntsman bastard from tonight, frowning thick black eyebrows that could also rival the ghost-like bastard, fangs like a vampire, short white hair that was combed back, but what differentiates the two apart, was the black eyes with magenta iris that stare at your soul dangerously.
With a height of 6'1'', dressed in like a ghost too, yet looking like some sort of royal, exquisite, and luxury suit that made of the finest fabric, a white jabot tie around his neck, a round, magenta jewel pin rest on top of the tie, multiple jewelry belt hanging on his waist, and different jewel rings on each finger with long nails that were polished with magenta color, a small white fur cape with purple inner floats behind his back, black leather shoes with sharp tips. But what really stood out the most from his attire, was the huge purple diamond that rested on the gold crown on top of his head.

"EEHYAH Hahahaha! So… this handsome man is the one we'll be working with?" The second voice called from behind Cinder, the owner belongs to a lady of some sort?
Taller than Cinder with the height of 5'9'', she has unsettling greenish skin, her large, pink eyes with cat-like slit blue iris with purple eyeshadows, an elongated head with a large mouth and jagged teeth and a snake-like tongue, middle part green hair with two long trim at the front, and a pair of large purple horn-like things with a yellow ring on top of her head. A blue jewel beads on her center forehead.
Dressed like some sort of royal, she wears a large purple robe with a pink undergarment and a yellow rim, the sleeves of her cloak are revealed to be very large and roughly frayed on the edges, somewhat reminiscent of bat wings, her nails long and polished green. A ridiculous wide ruff resting on her neck, being the most stand out part of her clothes, a pink corset vest holding her figure, and a puffy long skirt with many layers that goes from purple to pink to yellow with sharp z-zag edges.

"We have Redemption! Cackletta & Fawful will finally take revenge like a bully taking candy from a big turtle baby. I have chortles just from thinking about it!" The third figure was a super short man, shorter than Neo with the height of 4'3'', with the same greenish skin with a very wide smile, a big and round swirl blue glasses covering his eyes, and his short black hair ends with a curled tip on his forehead. He wore a large red cape with gold trim over a black jumpsuit with black gloves and black shoes with white stripes.

"Ahh ha! So very nice to meet you... I am, master of dimensions, the pleaser of crowds... I am...Dimentio! Remember the name well..." Quoted the fourth figure, his speech elegant and wavy.
Like his voice, the man was floating in the air, with a height of 5'7'', he had a mask on his face that was divided into black and white. The white portion of it had a black eye and the black portion had a glowing yellow eye. He wears a pale yellow and purple outfit with a matching hat. Looked like a Jester. The rest of his body was pitch black with white lines.

"SCREEK! So this is the man that vill help us to perform the first part of the plan?"
And then the last person spoke, his voice sharp yet low and nightmarish.
Standing the tallest of the newcomers, with the height of 6'2'', a stranger with a black mask that mimicked bat ears with white outline, spiky hair that shot upward, long pointy fangs inside his mouth like a vampire too.
Dressed in a purple long cape with red inners that mimics a bat's wings, a bat pin rests on the front of his cape, a blood-red long tie underneath his cape, pitch-black suit with a pair of purple leather shoes with sharp tips. He had dark purple gloves that ended with sharp claws in his hands.

The way a person looks can tell one many things.
If Roman wasn't sure before, he is certain now. That he has made the biggest mistake by accepting Cinder's invitation.
Because now he was paired with a bunch of actual psychopaths that is even crazier and dangerous than Cinder.

To be

I actually did encounter a small write block in this chapter, mainly the part of how I want to approach the jet fight scene. And some weighting about the end part.
