"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" The young girl screamed out as she jumped up and down on Evie's bed and shook her to wake her up.
Evie just jumped up as she had been sleeping and Mal scared her. "Mal what's wrong?" Evie quickly asked, making the small girl giggle as she shook her head no.
"Nothing mommy, I'm just excited! It's Halloween! It's Halloween! It's Halloween! I get to go trick or treating today! Yay!" Mal squealed out excitedly, making Evie groan as she looked at the time.
"Yes it is and yeah you do. But Mal it's 3 in the morning and mommy is really tired," Evie told the little girl as she rolled over and tried to sleep again.
"Otay I come back!" The young preschooler screamed out as she ran off causing Evie to smile as she closed her eyes again. "Finally," Evie told herself as she fell back to sleep.
Evie's peaceful sleep didn't last long though as the four year old came running back five minutes later as she was bored and couldn't sleep from her excitement.
"Mommy!" Mal cried out again making Evie hold back her urge to start screaming as she just took a deep breath. "Mal whyyyyy," Evie whined out as she just wanted to get some sleep since she barely got any anymore with having a hyper little girl like Mal.
Who for some reason seemed to never sleep at night. "I wanna do Halloween stuff!" Mal told Evie who just sighed as she just wanted to sleep.
"Mal it's bed time. You can do that in the morning," Evie told the four year old as she tried to roll back over but Mal just shook her awake again.
"But mommy!" Mal whined out as she just wanted to carve some pumpkins and have some Halloween fun, but her mommy was just ignoring her.
Evie just closed her eyes and took another deep breath as she picked Mal up and placed her down on the bed next to her. "Okay come here. Mal, it's still very early and mommy is really tired. Plus you're going to be very tired for Trick or treating today," Evie told her daughter as she tried to lay her down.
"But I no sleepy!" Mal screamed out, making Evie groan as she laid Mal back down. "Okay well how about you just stay here quietly and at least try to sleep," Evie told Mal as she tucked her into the covers.
"Otay mommy!" Mal told Evie as she closed her eyes, making Evie smile as she rolled over and went back to sleep.
"Mommy!" Mal cried out again about 30 minutes later causing Evie to give up as she was tired of trying. "Ugh I give up! What's wrong Mal?" Evie asked as she was too tired to argue against the little girl anymore.
"Can we carve pumpkins?" Mal asked as she gave Evie her puppy dog eyes. "Right now?" Evie asked as she looked at the time and saw it was still 3 in the morning.
Mal just nodded as she looked at Evie. "Mal it's almost 4 in the morning," Evie told Mal hoping to get her to give in and sleep but Mal didn't seem to care.
"Pwease mommy!" Mal told Evie still using her puppy dog eyes leading to Evie having to look down to avoid giving into her cuteness.
"Mal it's too early. We can do that later okay," Evie said as she continued to look down and avoid Mal's cute little face. "Pwease mommy!" Mal asked Evie. Evie tried to resist but as soon as her eyes met with Mal's little face she couldn't resist any longer.
"Okay come on you're lucky we have pumpkins," Evie told the little girl as she helped her up from the bed. "Yay!" Mal squealed out as she ran off to the kitchen and got in her special chair.
"Okay now Mal, which design do you want to do?" Evie asked the little girl as she grabbed the pumpkins and the carving kit.
Mal just smiled as she picked up her dragon. "Dragon roar!" Mal called out making Evie sigh as she flipped through the book of designs and didn't see any dragons.
"Um I don't think dragons are really a Halloween thing. What about a cat?" Evie asked, hoping to not upset Mal who just shook her head no.
"Mommy I want a dragon pwease!" Mal asked Evie with her puppy eyes again. "Okay we can do a dragon," Evie told Mal giving in.
"Yay!" Mal screamed out excitedly. "Evie, why is there screaming at 4 am?" April cried out as she had just gotten up to use the restroom and heard loud screaming from the kitchen.
"We're carving pumpkins!" Mal hollered out happily making April look at Evie like she was insane. "At 4 in the morning?" April asked almost in disbelief, making Evie sigh as she just wanted to sleep but couldn't.
"She won't sleep," Evie told April who immediately got up as she could see Evie's look and knew what was coming next if she didn't leave now. "Ah I see well I just came out to pee so um good night," April quickly told Evie as she tried to run off, but Evie pulled her back.
Stay!" Evie called out quickly as she didn't want to be the only one forced to be up with Mal right now. "Evie I'm tired," April told Evie who just thought fast as she knew it would be wrong, but it would work.
"You once gave my child a collapsed lung and I forgave you easily for that!" Evie cried out, causing April to look at her in shock that she would bring up that horrible accident again that she knew took a toll on April.
"That's low Evie," April told Evie who just shrugged. "Well it's true," Evie told April knowing she was about to win the argument as she could see April starting to give in.
"Alright fine I'll stay and help," April called out making Evie smile on victory while Mal just jumped up excitedly. "Yay! We're making a dragon!" Mal squealed out, making April give her a fake smile as she nodded.
"That's cool but Mal, are you sure you want to do this now," April told the little girl who smiled and nodded again but quickly got distracted when she saw Tessa who had come out to get some water.
"Yeah! Oo Auntie Tessa's up!" Mal screamed out excitedly making Evie smirk as she knew she could get Tessa roped into this as well.
"Yeah why don't you go ask her to help us," Evie told Mal as she gave her a smile. "Otay! Auntie Tessa!" Mal cried out as she ran over to Tessa making Tessa smile as she could never resist Mal's cuteness.
"Hey cutie you're up early," Tessa told her niece who just giggled and nodded. "Yeah it's Halloween!" Mal hollered out excitedly, making Tessa laugh.
"I know are you ready for trick or treating tonight!" Tessa asked the little girl in her over the top voice making Mal giggle again. "Yeah! I'm gonna get lots of candy! We're carving pumpkins right now! Can you help us!" Mal asked Tessa who just smiled as she nodded.
"Aw of course I can," Tessa told Mal who smiled as she dragged her to the others. "She got you too?" Tessa playfully asked her two sisters who just nodded.
"She always does," Evie told Tessa who nodded in understanding. "Evie guilt tripped me," April whined out, making Tessa nod again.
"I'm about to guilt trip Lola watch this," Evie told the others as she looked at Mal. Causing April to quickly try to warn Lola, but it was too late as Mal approached her.
"Hi auntie Lola!" Mal screamed out. "Aw hey kid what's up?" Lola called out, making Mal giggle. "It's Halloween!" Mal squealed out, making Lola laugh. "Yeah I know. Are you excited?" Lola asked Mal who nodded.
"Yeah! Wanna carve pumpkins with us!" Mal asked excitedly causing Lola to look at the time then at Mal in confusion. "Right now?" Lola asked as it was extremely early and she was exhausted.
"Yeah pwease!" Mal asked Lola with her puppy eyes. "Um it's kinda really extremely early what about later," Lola told Mal who just started crying.
"Mal hey come on kid I'm sorry. It's okay," Lola told the little girl in her gentle voice as she hated making Mal cry.
"You no want to play with me!" Mal cried out as she continued to let the tears flow. "No Mal of course I do! Okay I'll help," Lola told Mal, giving in making Mal stop crying as she smiled.
"Yay come on!" Mal told Lola excitedly as she dragged her to the others making Lola look around in confusion. "What just happened?" Lola asked as she was still trying to figure out what she just witnessed.
Evie laughed as she pulled out a ring pop ans handed it to Mal. "Bribery," Evie told Lola with a victory smiled. Lola just looked at Evie in shock and betrayal as Evie knew that was Lola's thing.
"That's my thing!" Lola cried out in offense making Evie shrug. "Two can play at that game," Evie told Lola who smirked as she had to admit she admired Evie. "Oh you're good," Lola told Evie who laughed.
"Yup! Now we're all going to carve pumpkins," Evie told them all as she handed them all a pumpkin. "What about Auntie Ava?" Mal asked as she noticed that not everyone was there.
"She's not here right now she's staying at her old dorm for the weekend," Evie told the preschooler who just tilted her head in confusion. "Why?" Mal asked Evie who just sighed.
"So she can get drunk and not judged," Lola quickly called out not even letting Evie answer. "Lola!" Evie cried out making Lola laugh. "I mean Lola's right," April told Evie who just shook her head as she looked at April. "April!" Evie called out causing April to shrug.
"What's drunk?" Mal asked as she tried to understand what was going on. "It doesn't matter. Anyway let's carve some pumpkins," Evie called out just wanting to change the subject.
"Yay! Oo can I get the goo out!" Mal asked excitedly. Evie just looked at Mal as she just knew that if she let Mal do this it would get everywhere and that outfit would be ruined too.
"Mal that's messy though," Evie told Mal hoping to change her mind making Lola roll her eyes. "Oh come on! Let the kid have some fun. It's Halloween! Yeah Mal go ahead you can get all the goo out with your little hands. And feel free to get as messy as you want," Lola told Mal as she hated when Evie would get like this.
"Yay! Hehe it's so squishy!" Mal squealed out as she reached into the pumpkin and grabbed out all the goo getting it all over herself.
"Okay sweetie you got all the goo out now," Evie told Mal as she tried to remain calm seeing the messy four year old covered from head to toe in pumpkin goo.
"Evie it's okay. Let her enjoy this, it's a fun part of Halloween," Tessa told Evie who just looked at Mal again as she hated messes like this.
"Okay you're right. But she did get all the goo out," Evie told the others as she held up the pumpkin that was cleaned out.
"Okay so then what are we carving?" April asked, making Mal smile as she held up her dragon that was also covered in pumpkin goo now. "We're doing a dragon! Roar!" Mal told the others, making them all laugh at how adored Mal looked.
"Okay dragon it is. Let's see do we have any templates?" Tessa asked Evie who shook her head no. "Don't worry I'll make one. That's easy," Lola told the others as she grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and started drawing.
"How does this look?" Lola asked as she finished up with her design and held it up. "Yay dragon!" Mal squealed out excitedly making them all laugh as Lola took that as a good thing.
"Okay so I'll take that as this works," Lola told the others. "Yeah it does and seriously you're so talented," Evie told Lola, making Lola smile as she loved when she could contribute something instead of causing trouble.
"Thanks sis alright so we carving or what?" Lola told Evie and then the others, making them laugh as they placed the template on the Pumpkin.
"Mommy can I help!" Mal asked as she watched Evie and the others carve into their pumpkins, but Mal wasn't allowed to. "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" Mal whined out as she pulled on Evie's sleeve.
"Okay Mal what's wrong?" Evie asked Mal who pointed to the mini carver tool. "Can I help?" Mal asked Evie who just looked at the carver hesitantly.
"Um I don't know," Evie told Mal uncertainly as she was worried about Mal accidentally hurting herself with it. "Evie it's okay. I let her work with tools all the time and she's fine," Tessa told Evie who just sighed as she looked at the tool.
"You sure?" Evie asked Tessa who smiled and nodded. "Okay Mal you can help but be careful okay and only touch the purple handle never touch the sharp part it will hurt," Evie told the small girl as she handed her one of the carvers. "Yay! I get to help! And otay mommy I will!" Mal told Evie.
"Okay now just follow the lines with the carver," Evie told Mal who nodded as she stuck the carver into the pumpkin and followed the line like she was told. "You're nervous," April told Evie as she noticed Evie just staring at Mal intensely.
"Dude you seriously have to let go a little. She's fine," Lola told Evie who was about to respond when Mal started crying.
"You were saying! Mal hey it's okay. What happened?" Evie asked the little girl in her calm and gentle voice, making Mal try to tug at the carver but it wouldn't budge.
"I can't do it anymore! It's stuck!" The preschooler cried out as she kept trying to make the carver move. "Aw sweetie it's okay. You did good. Sometimes some parts are harder than others. Come here let me help you okay," Evie told Mal as she picked her up and gently grabbed Mal's hand with the carver as she moved the carver making Mal smile.
"Yay it's moving again!" Mal told Evie excitedly, making Evie laugh as she nodded. "Yeah it is!" Evie told Mal excitedly, making her giggle as they continued to carve their pumpkins.
"And done!" The four adults all said at the same time making them all laugh as they looked at the small preschooler who had finally fallen asleep. "Well she finally slept," Evie told the others as she gently picked her up and cleaned her up then tucked her into bed.
"She's probably exhausted. I will admit that was fun though," April told the others who nodded. "Yeah even though it was at 4 in the morning," Tessa told them all, making them laugh again.
"Yeah so who wants to watch a scary movie till Mal wakes up because it's probably best to let her sleep since she's going trick or treating tonight," Evie asked the others as she came back and threw herself down on the couch.
"Wait, you want to watch a horror movie?" Lola asked in shock. "Yeah I love horror movies. I grew up on the Isle after that honestly nothing is scary about horror movies. It's fun to watch how obviously not scary they are though," Evie told her sisters as she turned the tv on leaving the other three in shock as they never expected Evie of all people to say something like that.
"Really? I always thought you would be terrified of horror movies," April told Evie who laughed as she found a movie and clicked on it.
"Oh please it's all so terribly fake! I'll tell you about real horror. Real horror is being afraid to even leave your house because someone could brutally murder or rape you," Evie told the others as she just hit play on the movie leaving her sisters in shock again at how easily Evie just talked about something like that.
"Moving on, what are we doing for Halloween like are we dressing up or what?" Lola told the others wanting to change the subject. "I don't know, I mean it's tonight," Evie told the others who nodded.
"Oo what if we dressed as each other!" Tessa told the others excitedly. "You mean like to trick people because I'm totally in!" Lola told them all, making them laugh.
"Well Mal's going as me this year because she said she wanted to be mommy, so sure let's go as each other," Evie told them all.
"Alright then I'll go as Tessa, our style is pretty similar," April told Tessa who smiled and nodded. "Yeah and I can go as you," Tessa told April who smiled as well.
"Well that leaves me as you. Which is perfect because I already got that down," Lola told Evie who laughed. "Oh I know. And that makes me you. This could be fun," Evie told Lola who laughed.
"So are we watching this movie?" April asked. "Oh right yeah! Hit play," Evie told April who nodded as she hit play and they watched the horror movie with Evie interrupting the whole time about how not scary it was and how fake it was.
"Are you really scared right now," Evie asked the others who were trying to act like the movie wasn't scaring them. "What no! Nothing scares me," Lola told Evie who just nodded as she let Lola and the others go back to watching the movie as she watched Mal come out of the room and she knew Mal would just come running over.
"I'm back!" Mal screamed out as she snuck up behind the three young adults making all three scream and jump up. "Ahhh! Don't kill me!" The three young adults screamed out, making Evie and Mal start laughing.
"Ha! You're afraid of a four year old!" Evie exclaimed as she started laughing hysterically, enjoying this whole thing. "We weren't scared," Lola told Evie who laughed. "Yeah sure you weren't," Evie told Lola.
"We weren't. We were pretending for Mal," April told Evie who just rolled her eyes. "Uh huh sure. Just admit it Mal got you good," Evie told them as she tickled Mal making the small girl giggle happily.
"Okay we were scared. I don't know how you weren't," Tessa told Evie who shrugged. "I told you nothing scares me anymore plus I might have seen her come out. Anyway we should probably start getting ready. It's starting to get late and I want some photos before Mal goes trick or treating," Evie told the others as she picked Mal up and got her ready.
"Do I look like mommy!" Mal asked the others as she came running back over in her costume. "Aw you're so adorable!" All four of the young adults squealed out making Mal giggle as she put her hands on her hips. "Hehe I'm mommy!" Evie told the others.
"Yes you are and you're so adorable. Now we'll be back, we just have to do something first," Evie told Mal as she wanted to try and trick her and didn't want Mal to know they were wearing costumes.
"Otay I watch Halloween stuff!" Mal told the others as she turned the tv on and put on Nick Junior. "Okay she's distracted, let's get ready now," Evie told the others who nodded as they all got up and followed Evie to her work room, so they could get ready.
"Alright Mal you ready to go trick or treating now," Lola asked the small girl in her best Evie impression once they all changed making Mal look up and start giggling as she could tell right away who everyone was.
"Hehe Auntie Lola you look like mommy! And mommy you're silly you look like Auntie Lola! Auntie April you look silly too you're not opposed to wear that! That's what Auntie Tessa wears! And Auntie Tessa you look like Auntie April! You're silly!" Mal told the others while giggling as she could always tell who was who.
"What no, I'm not Evie!" Evie told Mal as she tried her best to act like Lola. "Uh huh I know who my mommy is!" Mal told Evie, making her smile as she gave in. "Okay that was just too sweet! Yeah it's me. These are our costumes," Evie told Mal who smiled.
"I knew it I'm smart!" Mal told the others who laughed as they nodded in agreement. "Yeah you are," they all told the small girl. "Otay can we go trick or treating now!" Mal asked the others.
"Almost we have to get some pictures first then we can go," Evie told the preschooler making her groan as she just wanted to go trick or treating and didn't want to take any pictures.
"Mommyyyyyyyyy I hate taking pictures! I wanna go now!" Mal whined. "I know but mommy wants these pictures," Evie told Mal and Lola, April, and Tessa nodded.
"Yeah and we do too," Lola told Mal, making her groan as Lola was normally on her side. "You too Auntie Lola!" Mal asked in shock, making Lola laugh. "Mal photography is amazing and you're going to want these pictures someday," Lola told Mal who just groaned again.
"Otay but hurry up! I wanna go trick or treating!" Mal told the others, making them laugh as they just got as many photos as they needed.
"Otay now can we go trick or treating!" Mal asked, making them laugh as they nodded. "Yeah kid now we can go trick or treating," Lola told Mal, making her jump up and down excitedly. "Yay finally! Trick or treating!" Mal screamed out as she grabbed her purple pumpkin bucket and started running. "Mal, wait for us!" Evie cried out as she ran after the small girl causing the other three to quickly follow as well.
