Lucius Malfoy was not having a very good time. He hadn't been having a good time for several years now, but he was having an even worse time now. It probably started when he stupidly joined the ranks of a madman when he was a teenager. Even though he hasn't believed in that stuff in over 2 decades, he was marked and therefore he had to listen, lest his family be in danger.

He was doing as he was told, going to the department of mysteries to steal the prophecy. He had to go and be one of the man's most faithful, huh? He was in the prophecy room when he heard the gaggle of teenagers run in; him and his group cursed, they split up around the place to try to get out of there with the prophecy as fast as they could.

Lucius ran into a room and shut the door behind him, when he finally looked up, he saw there was no other way out, there was only a silvery fabric looking material in the center of the room. Lucius felt drawn to it, he knew he shouldn't, he knew it could be something disastrous like the veil he just saw the Potter kids godfather fall into, but he couldn't stop himself stepping towards it. A soft glow emitted from the fabric as it swayed despite the stillness of the room. He reached out to touch it, and then everything was dark.

The next thing he remembered was blinking open his eyes and a man standing over him. He was lying on the cold ground still in the room with the shiny fabric, the man over him was wearing unspeakable robes. Lucius saw something flicker in the man's eyes, but he was shrouded by darkness before he could speak.

The next time he woke up, he was in a hospital bed. He groaned and reached his hands up to rub his face, when he finally opened his eyes, he saw his old friend Severus Snape standing next to his bed, giving him a bit of a smile,

"Lucius, it has been done, the dark lord has been killed," Severus had said, Lucius' eyes widened,

"Wh-what? How? When? What happened?" he asked all at once, he moved to sit up and looked down at himself. Something was off… but he couldn't tell what.

"Potter killed him, that night at the ministry, traveled through the link they shared and just focused all his magic and energy on killing him. He basically exploded from the inside out." He answered, sitting at the foot of Lucius' bed. Lucius could tell by the way Severus looked him up and down and then smirked that something was up.

"Alright, great, assholes dead. Now why are you looking at me like that?" Lucius glared and crossed his arms over his chest, Snape's smirk only widened.

"Whatever room you fled into at the ministry kind of… changed some things," Severus hummed, he summoned a mirror and handed it to Lucius.

The blonde looked at his reflection and his mouth fell open in shock. Lucius was supposed to be in his early fourties, he had had wrinkles from all the stress he had been under recently, he was supposed to have his sharp face and harsh eyes- that wasn't what looked back at him.

In the mirror was Lucius, that he was certain, but the Lucius that was in the mirror he hadn't seen in many years. His face was smooth, young, he still had an angular look to him, but it was softened. He reached his hand up and touched his face, somehow surprised when the image didn't immediately change back to normal. He pulled his hand away and looked down at them, just looking over the different parts of him.

"Severus…" he began slowly, looking up at his friend who looked like he was trying not to laugh. "Please tell me that that curtain didn't deage me irreversibly," Lucius frowned deeply,

"I am no liar Lucius, I will tell you no such things," Lucius' frown only depend.

"How old am I?"

"from what the healers can tell, it looks like you have just turned 16," Severus patted his friends leg, "you know what that means, right?"

Lucius stared at him for a moment, "I'm 16 years old. I'm underage. I can't do magic outside of Hogwarts. Shit, I have to go back to Hogwarts don't I?" he placed his head in his hands and groaned loudly.

"I'm afraid so, my friend," Severus answered, "at least you are in the same year as your son," he said in a mocking tone, Lucius quickly moved and threw a pillow at him,

"You're an ass, Severus!" Said ass only laughed, Lucius glared at him for a moment before he calmed,

"I guess it is a good thing I divorced my wife before I was deaged," Lucius scoffed a bit, "can't even sign legal documents because I'm not an adult." Severus looked like he was going to say something when the door opened and another teenaged blonde walked in the room.

Draco closed the door behind him and when he turned around, he paused, looking Lucius up and down. He had of course been told what had happened in the department of mysteries by his godfather, Severus, but it was different seeing it.

"Woah," Draco said as he stepped closer, looking at somebody who looked incredibly similar to him. They had their differences of course; Draco's face was pointier and Lucius' was more square. They had the same platinum blonde hair but Lucius' was just as long as it had been before he was changed, while Draco's was short, barely reaching the nape of his neck. They just looked at each other for a moment,

"So," Draco began, pulling a chair up to his dads bedside and sitting down, "I heard we're the same age now?" Lucius gave him a small glare, but Draco didn't find himself being as intimidated as he would be by adult Lucius. Teenage Lucius just felt more like an older brother already, even though it hadn't even been 10 minutes.

"You were out for a while, y'know," Draco started "about a month, got real worried there, but Severus told me what happened and it seems you've gotten yourself into a real pickle," he wanted to end with 'father' or 'dad', but he couldn't get his mouth to say the words with a teenage version of his father in front of him.

"yes, it seems I have," Lucius sighed and looked up at the ceiling tiles, "Severus, I assume you will be my legal guardian until next year when I turn 17?" he just heard his friend hum in affirmative.

"Okay great, this is just great," he mumbled bitterly,

"Hey uh, what do I call you?" Draco asked after a moment, looking at him funny, "father or dad just seems a bit out of the question,"

Lucius paused, he hadn't thought of that, he supposed he and Draco were more like brothers now, in a way. Thinking about it made his head spin if he were honest. "Lucius is fine, or, I guess I won't be going by my real name at Hogwarts?" he looked over at Severus with a raised eyebrow.

"Dumbledore and I have decided you will go by Abraxas at school," Severus informed, "that way you can cite being a cousin or something to Draco, who was named after their grandfather," Lucius nodded and turned back to Draco, "Abraxas is fine too, obviously," he heard his son chuckle at him and he shot him an annoyed glare, but it only made him laugh harder.

"So, Severus," Draco grinned, "when do we get to bring Abraxas school shopping?"

Lucius only scowled at the bedsheets.

-HHLL HHLL HHLL-

It was the first of September now, Abraxas (which Lucius had gotten quite used to, and actually preferred, being called) and Draco were sitting on the Hogwarts express. Draco had led Abraxas to the compartment with a haughty air around him, Abraxas felt proud at how well he kept his pureblood mannerisms around the general public. They got to the compartment which Draco explained him and his friends always sat in. They sat down across from each other, Abraxas shook his head and moved so he was spread out over half the seat. The door opened only a few minutes later and Abraxas looked up to see Blaise Zabini and Pansy Parkinson walk in, he nodded to them in greeting, they gave him a weird look but sat down anyway.

"Pansy, Blaise," Draco started, motioning to his father, "this is my cousin, Abraxas Malfoy, he's transferring from being homeschooled in France," Abraxas gave them a wave, they nodded at him in greeting.

"I'm Blaise Zabini," Blaise introduced,

"And I'm Pansy Parkinson," she smiled, "a pleasure to meet you." Abraxas gave a closed off smile to them in return,

"the pleasure is all mine," he responded smoothly. With that, Pansy and Blaise turned to Draco and started discussing their summers,

"I heard your father got thrown in Azkaban," Blaise said with a shake of his head to Draco, "sorry to hear about that, I know that must be hard," Draco rubbed the back of his neck and gave them a fake pained look,

"yeah, especially with his and mothers divorce, it has been difficult. But Abraxas came to keep me company right after dad got taken away, so at least I haven't been alone," he lied easily, once again Abraxas was filled with pride. The other two Slytherins gave him approving nods before going back to their conversation.

It was 15 minutes later when the train finally started to pull out of the station. Abraxas hummed and leaned back in his seat; he had missed the train. He started a bit when the door to their compartment was thrown open, he looked up to see none other than Harry Potter, breathing heavily, looking like he had gone through a meat grinder, and a look of panic in his eyes.

"Potter what are you-!" Draco began. Harry and the three Slytherins had formed a friendship over the last couple of years, so he wasn't surprised to see him there. Although, they couldn't just out in the open be friendly to each other, so they made up a code word to let them know when the other needed to cut the act.

"Canary!" Harry spoke over him, he closed the compartment door and looked over his shoulder, "you don't know I'm here!" he said quickly as he pulled himself up onto the luggage rack above the seats. Abraxas watched with his mouth open, but his shock only grew when Harry curled into a ball, pulled a silvery fabric out of his pocket (which eerily reminded him of the very fabric that got him into this mess), and then covered himself with it. Abraxas thought this was a stupid way to hide, whoever he was running from would see the moving lump, but when Harry completely disappeared, he only looked more astounded.

"Abraxas!" Draco hissed to get his attention away from the now empty luggage rack, just as the man looked over at his son there was a quiet knock before a ginger boy and a brunette girl opened the door and peered inside. When the girl saw them, her face scrunched up a bit in frustration,

"This may be a moot point, but have you lot seen Potter?" she asked, Draco gave her a sneer,

"No Granger, if we had seen Potter our eyes would have melted from the sight," he spat, she just rolled her eyes at him and left. After a few minutes, Harry swung down and landed in the seat beside Abraxas. The kid was skinny, far too skinny for it to be healthy. He also had bruises all over the parts Abraxas could see, he could only imagine what was under the boys clothes.

"Hey guys," Harry sighed, he rubbed his face, "hey new guy," he said offhandedly to his seat mate. Abraxas glanced over at Draco with a confused look that demanded an explanation. Draco gave him a 'not now' look on his face.

"Hello, Harry," he said calmly, Blaise got up and from his place in between Draco and Pansy and moved to trade seats with Harry, Draco pulled out his wand and muttered a quick diagnostic spell. He read the list that printed out of the tip of his wand and he frowned deeply, looking back up at Harry who looked so… broken.

"Harry, why is this so much worse than it was last year?" Draco asked gently, his asshole Slytherin persona out the window. Harry gave him a sad laugh,

"Don't know," he shrugged his shoulders but winced a little, "I think it had something to do with the blood wards dropping after ole snake face blew up. Who knows, really." He shook his head, "don't worry about it, do I have anything serious?"

Draco looked at and read over the list, "2 of your ribs are broken and so is your right wrist," he answered, "but the rest seem to be just surface level, bruises and the like," Draco pulled out a magical first aid kit.

"Wait," Abraxas cut in, "how did you just vault up to that luggage rack with a broken wrist?" Harry looked up at him and did a double take, this was the first time he had really looked over at the extra person in the compartment. He looked between Draco and the other curiously, there were differences between the two, for sure, particularly the difference in hair length and general face shape, but they still looked pretty damn alike.

"Draco," Harry said calmly, turning towards him, "you didn't tell me you had a twin brother," Draco snorted and started to laugh,

"Sorry Harry. This is Abraxas, my cousin," he said, gesturing towards the other Malfoy. Harry looked over at him and narrowed his eyes a bit,

"Abraxas… isn't that your grandfathers name?" he asked Draco, said blonde looked up at him in a bit of surprise,

"uh, yeah, how did you know that?" he asked, Harry shrugged, "well, your father's name is Lucius Abraxas, isn't it? I've noticed people in the wizarding world give their first born son the fathers first name for their middle. I mean, you're Draco Lucius, I'm Harry James, I figured it was a pattern,"

"wait, wait, wait," Draco shook his hands a bit, "hold on a minute, how do you know my father's middle name is Abraxas? It's not like that's just something I would have mentioned," Harry shrugged again,

"Guess I've seen it somewhere. How is your father doing, by the way?" Harry glanced over at Abraxas and the deaged man didn't like the look in Harrys eyes.

"He is doing alright, he's not in as bad of a part of the prison as your godfather was, so he should be fine," Draco answered, he noticed Harry wince at the mention of his godfather, he apologized quietly.

"Anyway, enough of the depressing stuff, and back to different depressing stuff," Harry nodded his head to the first aid kit Draco had brought out but that had been forgotten. "can you fix my ribs? It hurts to breathe," Harry's face scrunched up a bit, finally showing some of the pain he felt on his face.

Draco hummed and took out his wand, he pointed it at Harry's ribcage and muttered the bone mending spell. Harry jumped at the two loud cracks and he bent over on himself with a groan, wrapping his arms around his middle.

"Are you okay?" Abraxas startled at the loud noise, concern building up in his eyes, Harry just nodded weakly and held his wrist out for Draco to fix. Harry groaned again at a series of cracks that came from his wrist, he just sat there breathing through the pain. When he sat up Draco handed him a pain potion which he took gratefully.

Abraxas looked up at Draco with a worried look, Draco just shrugged a bit in response. Harry leaned over and lay his head on Draco's shoulder, closing his eyes as he relaxed from the easing of the pain, Draco rubbed his back soothingly. He was asleep within a few minutes.

When Draco finally looked up at his father, the man was just giving him this look of complete confusion, Draco sighed. "We became friends sometime in third year, had to play it off like we hated each other though, couldn't go around being openly buddy buddy with the dark lords enemy, now could I?" he teased a bit, "he has abusive relatives, he keeps glamour's and concealment charms up for the first few weeks back at school so the bruises and the skinniness don't show, but it can be exhausting for him to keep them up all the time. Usually if he needs a break from Weasley and Granger he'll sneak off to come hang out with us," he motioned towards Blaise and Pansy.

"they keep sending him back to abusive relatives?" Abraxas' eyebrows furrowed a bit, Draco made a face of annoyance and frustration,

"Yes. He tried to tell Dumbledore in first year that his relatives abused him, but the headmaster just insisted he was being overdramatic, and that the blood wards were more important to his safety." Draco sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose with his free hand. "Poor kid has been through the ringer, I mean, between his relatives and Voldemort, he's barely had any time to not be in constant panic mode."

Blaise and Pansy hummed sadly in agreement, looking over at the sleeping boy. "when do you think he last had any food?" Pansy asked, frowning,

"my guess is at earliest a week ago. He wouldn't have fallen asleep so fast had he eaten any time before then." Draco shook his head, when he looked back over at Abraxas, he saw the horror and deep concern on his face, he shook his head.

The rest of the train ride went by relatively well. Weasley and Granger didn't bother them looking for Harry again, and the boy was allowed to sleep for a good few hours. He finally woke up only because Draco was shaking him gently.

"Huh? What?" Harry asked, rubbing his eyes and sitting up,

"Harry, you need to get changed into your robes, we're almost to the castle." Draco said with a hum, Harry nodded and held his hand out, suddenly a backpack came flying into his hands from some other part of the train. He looked up when he felt eyes on him.

Abraxas had watched the boy just open his hand and summon the bag, and it amazed him. He didn't even move his lips! Or raise a wand! And he was half asleep for Christ's sakes!

"woah…" Abraxas breathed, he watched as Harry gave him a small smile and the blonde really wished the boy weren't covered in bruises, so it looked more real.

"Sorry, forgot you're new around here." He hummed, pulling his robes out of his bag. He changed into his uniform quickly, trying to spend as little amount of time without something covering his bruises as possible. When he was finished changing, he sighed and suddenly, the pristine perfect Harry Potter that everybody knew was back in front of Abraxas.

He was taken aback, before he remembered what Draco said about glamours. He frowned, not liking how tired Harry looked despite the concealment.

The 5 of them got off of the train, Harry stayed with them through the carriage ride up to the school, he didn't want to deal with Weasley or Granger yet.

They walked into the castle, Harry lagged behind a bit, so it didn't look suspicious that he was walking with the 3 most popular people in Slytherin and Draco's look alike. Professor McGonagall was standing at the doors to the great hall greeting everybody, she had the sorting hat held in her hand as she waited for the first years.

Draco stopped, "Alright, Abraxas, this is where we leave you," he smirked, Abraxas gave him a small glare, "see you on the other side," Draco teased, he waved and went into the hall, Harry smiled at McGonagall as he stepped up to her and now Abraxas.

"Hello professor," he said with a smile,

"Hello Mr. Potter," she greeted, they were both caught off guard when the sorting hat seemed to wake up.

"Mr. Potter is here?" the old hat asked, Harry furrowed his eyebrows,

"Yes Penumbra," he had asked the hat his name in first year, he was trying to be polite but also it was because he was stalling his sorting, "I am here." The sorting hat grinned with its wrinkly fabric,

"Perfect! I have been thinking a lot about your sorting in first year, Mr. Potter," the hat hummed, Harry frowned, he knew where this was going.

Abraxas on the other hand, had no idea what was going on, he was looking between the hat and Harry with a look of pure confusion, he glanced up at McGonagall for answers, but she just shrugged her shoulders as well.

"Penumbra, I am happy where I am-" the hat cut him off, tutting his tongue,

"no, you aren't," Penumbra scoffed, "and you will be resorted now that I have you here." Harry sighed and closed his eyes, why did these things always have to happen to him?

"a resorting?" McGonagall asked, surprise filling her face, "Penumbra, you have never in the history of Hogwarts wanted to resort a student, your decision is always final."

"Well Minerva, it seems old dogs can learn new tricks." The hat, if it could, would be smirking at her right now.

"Do I have to do it in front of everybody?" Harry asked with a sigh, knowing he wasn't getting out of this, not this time.

"Wait, if not Gryffindor, where would you put Potter?" Abraxas asked confused, there was no way the kid was a Hufflepuff or a Ravenclaw, Slytherin didn't even cross his mind at the time, though.

"Oh, you will see Mr. Malfoy," the hat hummed, this only made Abraxas more confused.

"and we can do this now, Mr. Potter, I do not want to make things more difficult on you than they already are," the hat hummed, Harry sighed and reached his hands out, Minerva numbly placed the heap of fabric in his awaiting arms. He put it on his head,

"ah, yes, just as I suspected." Penumbra spoke inside of his mind, "You have only become more fit for Slytherin over the years my boy. and tricking me into placing you in Gryffindor? Quite the snake move of you," the hat laughed, and Harry rolled his eyes,

"what happens when I am suddenly in Slytherin robes and in the classes with the Slytherins? Weasley and Granger are already driving me crazy, now the whole student body is going to be, too." He thought bitterly. Ron and Hermione, he had thought, were his best friends. But since he killed Voldemort and the horcruxes, they've been treating him more as an obligation, so they can use his name for their gain. Hermione was already applying to universities with one of her qualifications being "Harry Potters best friend". The two of them have been up his ass, trying to keep him in line so they don't lose his benefits. They have been pretending since May (and probably long before that, as well) that they were still his friends, and it was driving him crazy. Most the time he wondered if they had stopped being his friends a long time ago and were only keeping him around for the same reasons.

"Oh, but Harry," Harry could hear the grin in his voice, "I think this will be a victory for you. Weasley and Granger don't want to be associated with Slytherins. I've been inside their minds, I never forget a student, and they can't stand the snakes. Imagine if Harry Potter went into Slytherin, they would be so disgusted with you, that they would leave you alone- like they do with any other Slytherin." Harry felt a grin spreading over his own face,

"well, Penumbra," he thought, "get on with it, my freedom awaits."

"Slytherin!" the hat bellowed, Harry smirked as he took the hat off of his head and handed it back to McGonagall. He looked over at his old professor who was just giving him a raised eyebrow and a knowing smirk, Harry grinned at her. Then, he turned towards Abraxas, and he couldn't help but laugh at the others expression.

"Well, professor," Harry started, noticing his Gryffindor robes turning to Slytherin ones on their own, "It has been an honor to have you as my head of house, but I'm afraid I must bid farewell," he bowed, "I'll see you at the table Malfoy!" Harry called over his shoulder to Abraxas as he walked into the great hall, suddenly looking much more at ease then he had at all in the last 6 years.

Harry made his way inside and nobody paid any attention to him. Draco, Blaise, and Pansy weren't even looking at him, he smirked. He made his way over to the Slytherin table, taking a seat next to Draco. The blonde jumped, he looked over at who had sat next to him ready to tell them off, but when he saw Harry his jaw dropped.

"Woah! What the hell?" he asked, looking him up and down, noticing the Slytherin robes.

"Had a chat with the sorting hat," Harry hummed, glancing up at the head table. The students may not have noticed him, but the staff definitely did. Severus was giving him a raised eyebrow, he had also been one of the people that Harry had befriended a few years prior, keeping it hidden from the rest of the school and world. So, seeing his new head of houses face, he knew it was amusement in his eyes and not anger, like everybody would think it was. He waved cheekily before turning back towards the other 3.

"I had stopped to greet professor McGonagall, when the hat heard my voice, he stopped me and said I was going to be resorted. You don't fight with the sorting hat, not after he's been so adamant to resort you for the last 5 years. So, he put me where he had wanted me originally, Slytherin."

Draco grinned, he pulled Harry into a side hug, "well, Mr. Potter, if you're going to be a snake now, welcome to the pit." Harry just laughed at his antics.

The first years plus Abraxas lined up outside the great hall, the sorting went by and Abraxas was very relieved when the hat placed him in Slytherin without any bit of hesitation. He stood and walked over to his son and his friends; he found a seat next to Harry.

"Hey," Harry grinned, "a Malfoy never gets sorted outside of Slytherin, isn't that right?"

"Oh, you know it," Draco answered, "goes back for generations, all the Malfoys being sorted into Slytherin. Haven't had a deviant yet." He smirked a bit. Finally, the sorting ended, and Dumbledore welcomed them with a quick speech before the food at the table appeared.

Abraxas hummed, one thing he had missed about Hogwarts was the food. He piled all of his favorite things onto his plate, he looked over and noticed that Harry hadn't moved to get any food, Abraxas frowned, "Potter are you-" his sentence was cut off however when he felt a quick kick to his shins. He hissed and looked up at the girl across from him who was glaring. Her eyes shot to Harry's plate, then back to Abraxas, and she shook her head firmly.

Abraxas frowned but then remembered what he heard on the train, Pansy asking when Draco thought the last time he ate was, and Draco responding at least a week ago.

He went back to his eating, but he was still paying attention to his surroundings. He saw as his son placed a small amount of food on Harry's plate, and then the way Harry looked almost hesitant before picking up a fork and slowly eating only about half of it. But he had eaten some of it, which he guessed was good enough for Draco when the blonde nodded and hummed a little bit.

Blaise, Draco, Abraxas, and Harry finally made their way to their dorms after Severus gave his house a welcome back speech. Draco and Blaise were laughing about something, taking up the front of the group since they knew where they were going and the other two didn't (well, Abraxas did, but he was supposed to be homeschooled, so he pretended he didn't). Abraxas noticed how Harry was trailing back a bit, just looking rather lost in thought. Abraxas paused for a moment so that he was walking next to Harry,

"Are you alright?" he asked, he noticed as Harry jumped a little bit and looked over at him, his eyes wide. Abraxas noticed for the first time that the young man's eyes were green, and a very rich shade of green as well.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm okay." Harry gave him a strained smile "just thinking, I suppose."

"What's on your mind?" Abraxas asked, not sure if Harry was going to say anything or just tell him to mind his own damn business, it seemed the other teen was trying to decide himself.

"It's nothing." Harry finally responded, looking away from the blonde. Abraxas felt a little bummed that he wouldn't get to find out, but he respected Harry's choice.

Abraxas was just a stranger, after all.
