Hi all, here is the next chapter. This chapter I felt was necessary for what I want to happen later on. This chapter is quite short but I felt it was a good part to end it at.
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter and/or any associated characters
I'd love to hear what you think.
Picking up that day's edition of the Daily Prophet, Harry set it in front of him and turned a few pages. 'The true Dumbledore revealed' marked the top of the page in big bold lettering. Harry had helped Tom write the article, with Hermione nearby. Severus also had his input, and they, somehow, managed to get it together without hexing each other. Only a few stern looks and comments were shared.
They'd certainly make sure everything there was to know about Dumbledore was revealed to the public before they finished. 'Dumbledore, the so-called leader of the light, set up the Order of the Phoenix to defeat Voldemort but never checked up on the welfare of the students in his care.'
That being one of the parts that made Severus smirk, It would seem obvious to check up on the welfare of people on your side, especially students in the school. Clearly being a headmaster of Hogwarts didn't teach him anything. He didn't seem to want to know or care about what was happening, keeping his head stuck in his hat for too long, Severus mused.
As Tom came to the end of the article in front of him on the table, he smirked, "the number of followers that evil manipulative bastard has by the time we're finished with him will certainly be affected. And rightly so." He hissed, pushing the article away.
Harry on the other hand just nodded as if trying to process everything, while Hermione looked rather excited. It certainly was a lot for Harry to take in in such a short space of time, but was necessary.
Deciding it best to wait for a bit before penning the next piece, Tom bade goodbye to Harry and Hermione after giving them a warning to stay within the wards at all costs.
Harry had always loved flying and had a knack for it, so Tom felt he couldn't stop him. Provided Harry stayed inside the wards as he'd instructed, he'd be fine. The wards were strong enough to keep both him and Hermione safe. He just had to hope now that Harry would abide by what he'd been told. Well if he didn't it may not end well.
With Severus keeping a close eye on the teens' and on Dumbledore while Tom started writing the second article to be published in the following days. He simply couldn't wait to hear what Severus reported back in his watchings of Dumbledore and his followers. He'd use it to spur on his ideas which he couldn't wait to incorporate into action.
Mounting his Nimbus Two Thousand alongside Hermione, who had brought her broom with her when she left with Severus. She just had the feeling she should bring it even though she hadn't been told.
Kicking off the ground, they soared into the air and made their way around the Manor, carefully at first. As they got more comfortable their speed quickened, and they eventually zoomed around.
As Harry swerved around the corner, keeping his speed, laughing madly as Hermione came along behind.
Engrossed in the enjoyment he was getting out of it, he forgot to be mindful of the ward perimeter.
"Harry, please be careful. I don't have a good feeling about you leaving the wards, even just for a minute. It's not safe." Hermione shouted to be heard above the light whistle of the wind and did her best to force Harry into the inside for his safety and protection.
At that moment, Harry's broom jerked, and he squealed, doing his best to prepare himself. Tightening his grip on his broom and clamping his knees together, he made to turn towards the manor. As he did so, his broom jerked more violently. With a yell, he was thrown forward as Hermione rushed underneath to try catch him to break his fall.
Zigzagging through the air, the broom now completely out of his control, he was dragged away from the wards. With his broom now rolling over and over and him barely holding on, Hermione made to cast a counterspell only for it to fail. Trying again but to no avail, She swiftly made her way to get help. She knew better than to leave the wards, one in trouble, ultimately, was better than two.
Jerking suddenly, Harry was flung over, now dangling with barely one hand. Vibrating harder than ever, his grip slipped until he had just two fingers gripping the broom. More vibrating and jerking followed until Harry was plummeting towards the grounds.
Severus had only seen the last part from inside but assumed Harry was only messing on his broom. When it occurred to him, it wasn't a mess, he cast a spell, only for it to fail. Realising why he went to cast a counterspell, but it was too late. He gulped as he saw Harry tumbling to the ground and tore towards him meeting Hermione at the door.
Hearing the commotion Severus caused, he looked up having no idea what happened, but instinctively he knew it involved Harry. Subconsciously holding his breath for a minute, he tore towards the grounds pushing everything out of the way as he did so.
It certainly was one of the most un-lordy runs ever, but he couldn't have cared less. His heart beating loudly in his chest, he cast a protection spell around everyone out in the grounds. It was better playing safe than sorry.
'What could possibly have happened to Harry staying inside the wards?' Those thoughts flew through his mind as he made his way across the grounds with Hermione and Severus, having just caught up with them, till it suddenly dawned on him. Dumbledore. He for sure had something to do with this. He'd deal with him separately, and painfully.
Coming to a halt before Harry's crumpled form, Severus knelt down and pressed two fingers to his neck.
"He's alive!" He yelled to a distraught Tom who breathed a sigh of relief before gathering up the broken remains of Harry's broom. Harry was far too skilled a flier to fall, further confirming his suspicions of which he'd be able to prove later.
Hermione looked beside herself, sat crumpled, hands clasped over her face, watching as Severus checked Harry over. All she wanted at this moment was to save Harry, but she simply wasn't able to help or do anything. She knew Harry was used to injuries, but this was different. It seemed like the injuries were the art of a skilled individual and not from simply falling.
Waving his wand over the splintered broom and hissed in rage as his suspicions were true. Dumbledore's magic made itself known to him. That pathetic so-called headmaster has another thing coming if he thinks he's going to get away with this. Under his watch, he'd pay for every ounce of pain and suffering he'd caused which was a lot, but he'd certainly enjoy it.
Bundling Harry up in his arms, Severus swiftly made his way back inside alongside Tom and Hermione. Wrapping his arm
around her shoulder in a comforting fashion, who still had her head in her hands cast down.
Placing Harry atop the guest mattress, Severus cast a diagnostic spell and handed Tom the list of injuries that appeared.
Hermione took a look over Tom's shoulder at the list and gulped.
