Chapter 1: A Perverted Idiot and Fallen Angels. (2/2)
Rias Gremory didn't really know how to perceive her current situation. Just a few weeks ago, she was doing everything in her power to break her engagement with Riser Phenex. As not only everything about the individual disgusted her but she also wanted to have control over her life, especially who she was going to marry. But that suddenly changed out of nowhere.
In a day like any other, Rias received a message from her beloved brother. Telling her to meet with him and the rest of the family. While they were having dinner together, Sirzechs, somehow managed to convince their father to break her engagement with Riser because he had a better match for her. Rias was instantly not fond of the idea of another engagement, but she knew that her brother wasn't going get her into trouble.
Ironically, all of them were shocked when they found out who was this better match. It turns out that, Ajuka Beelzebub had secret son. That was something that surprised everyone in more ways than one. The Clan Astaroth were justifiable the ones who were most surprised by the revelation, as the fact that they had one more member around was great as the clan was relatively low on numbers.
Although, Rias was skeptical about her new fiancé. She personally knew Ajuka Beelzebub, as he was her brother's best friend. So she decided to give him the benefit of the doubt as he couldn't be worse than Riser Phenex.
Strangely though, they actually told her that his knowledge of the Underworld was fairly limited, so her parents added a term to their engagement. The term is that he should help her on her duties.
But, apparently, there was another problem besides his lack of knowledge. The problem was, that he had absolutely no idea about the arrangement. So her brother and Ajuka still had to inform him of it.
The previous day, her brother visited her and told her that he took care of the matter of informing her new fiancé of the engagement. According to him, however, he did not react well to it and seemed really frustrated by his lack of a choice in the matter. Which Rias instantly felt sympathetic towards it.
Currently, she was sitting on a couch talking with him. Azrael Astaroth was his name. And honestly, she was very surprised. Rias was expecting some resemblance to Ajuka, but he hardly looked anything like him. Azrael Astaroth was short and scrawny and had bright blond hair, bright green eyes. Rias would never admit it out loud, but he was actually much cuter than her nephew, Milicas.
Akeno, who was standing besides her, apparently thought the same. As she has been giving him a, painfully obvious, predatory gaze since he introduced himself to them which was making him visibly uncomfortable. Rias was actually surprised as she always assumed that Akeno was into manly guys.
Azrael Astaroth on the other hand, was silently sitting there. Listening to everything that Rias was saying. There was three things on his mind in that moment.
One: I'm certainly relieved, I was really afraid that I was being engaged to a girl who was either ugly or obnoxious but Rias, so far, proved to be the opposite.
Two: I certainly hope that this duties aren't super heavy work, as I unfortunately inherited my father's tendency of not taking work very seriously.
Three: Is her friend going to stare at me like that every time we're in the same room? Though, her predatory gaze is certainly better than the ones I used to receive from those perverted Priests.
Azrael was listening carefully to his fiance's words. In her words, Occult Research Clubis just another name for her peerage. The Club's business is top priority even topping academics, so it serves as the perfect cover and excuse in order to get out of class in emergencies such as Devil Hunting and Destroying Fallen Angels. His duties while being a member of the club will be basically the same as her peerage.
"Do you have any problem with it?" Rias asked him while she sipped a bit of tea.
"No, not really..." Azrael eat some strawberry cake that Akeno served him. "But I must warn you, I unfortunately inherited my father's tendency of not taking work too seriously and I deeply apologize if that becomes a problem." He decided to be honest with her.
"I... See..." Rias replied to his warning. The only thing that Ajuka told me about Azrael, is that his son is actually brilliant but pretty lazy and warned me that it will be a bit difficult to work with him but he's very competent when he wants to be.
Azrael finished his cake before he looked at Akeno. "Could I have another slice please?" He politely requested.
He also told me that Azrael has possibly one of biggest sweet tooths he ever saw. Rias thought as it was literally the fifth slice of cake that Azrael has eaten so far.
Akeno just smiled at him in obvious amusement, before she went to get him another. But suddenly, the door opens and another person entered the room. It was a petite girl with white hair and gold eyes. The front of her hair has two long bangs going past her shoulders and several loose bangs hanging over her forehead, while the back has a short bob cut. She also wears a black cat-shaped hair clip on both sides of her hair. She was wearing the Kuoh Academy girls' school uniform, without the shoulder cape.
Wow, she's cute... Like a kitten... And she's shorter than me... It was Azrael's opinion about the girl that just entered the room.
"Koneko, I was expecting you earlier." Rias told the girl apprehensively.
She bowed towards her in response before she spoke. "Apologies, I had something to take care of it." The girl told Rias with a neutral expression. Then she noticed Azrael presence.
"Umm, Azrael, this is Koneko Toujou. She's a member of this club and part of my peerage." Rias introduced her to him. "Koneko, this is Azrael Astaroth, son of Ajuka Beelzebub and my..." She was having trouble in saying the last part.
"Fiancé." Akeno finished the phrase for her while giving low giggles.
Rias seemed a little embarrassed by that, but Azrael understood since it was just as awkward to him.
Koneko bowed to him respectfully. "It's a honor to meet you." She told him respectfully.
Azrael seeing that, returned the favor and stood up from his sit, removed his hat and also gave bowed. "Likewise." Once he moved his head up, they noticed that Rias and Akeno were kind of amused by his gesture.
"Azrael, I'm really sorry for cutting this short but, there's something I must discuss with Koneko." Rias told him apologetically.
"I understand," He replied before putting his hat back on. "I guess I'll be going now then." Before he did however, he moved towards Akeno. "I'm really sorry for making you keep serving me, but the cake was just too delicious." He apologized while scratching the back of his head in embarrassment.
Akeno just smiled at him warmly. "Don't be, it was my pleasure."
Azrael then turned around to leave, but he stopped in front of Rias one last time. "I apologize one more time for the situation that we find ourselves in and I promise to do my best to not make this predicament even more unpleasant."
Rias nodded at him. "I thank you deeply for that, and promise to do the same." She told him sincerely. "Be here tomorrow after class, there's still the matters about your duties here that I would like to discuss tomorrow."
Azrael nodded in response before he made his way towards the door. Once he passed through, Koneko closed the door behind him.
The three girls were now alone in the room with a strange silence that ensured once the door closed. It lasted almost a minute before someone finally spoke.
"I thought he would be taller." Koneko commented as Azrael was considerably short.
Akeno giggled at that. "He's got to be the cutest boy I ever saw." She commented. "So, what do you think about your new fiancée?" She asked Rias.
Rias sighed before replying to her best friend. "So far, definitely an improvement." It was the truth. She was very worried about what Azrael Astaroth would be like, and, so far at least, he seemed nice. But she's yet to find out if it's genuine or an act. "I will discuss with him the matter of trying to break free from our involuntary engagement to one another tomorrow." It would certainly be an easy conversation and she could probably get him to help her as he isn't interested in it either. But she needs to explain that they can't just end it as she would probably just be engaged to her previous fiancée again.
"If that's the case..." Akeno spoke with a strange smile on her face.
Rias noticed right away what Akeno meant by that and sighed in response. "Can you at least wait until I find a way to break free from the engagement before you take him for yourself." She may not want this engagement but she certainly isn't fond of the idea of her best friend fooling around with her fiancé.
Akeno giggled in response before she replied. "I'll try, but it will take a lot of willpower to resist that cute boy."
Rias chuckled a bit, before she turned to Koneko. "Now, back to the important matters...
Well... That was more pleasant than I expected. Azrael Astaroth thought as he made his way to his home. Rias Gremory was very nice and polite in regards of him, independent of the situation that the two of them are in. I plan on keeping my promise to her, and try to make this as unpleasant to the two of us as possible. He eat the remaining candy from the bag that he carries.
Arriving at a bridge that he must pass through to get home. I'm curious about what she's going to tell me tomorrow. Suddenly however, he arrived at the bridge. The blond haired boy noticed two people at the middle of it. And he recognized one of them. That perverted idiot again? Azrael recognized that brown haired guy with the red shirt, who's name, he thinks it's Issei. Although he knows he shouldn't judge people over a single flaw, Azrael simply hates perverts since the incident. But, who's that with him?
At the bridge, there was a girl speaking with the perverted idiot. An attractive young woman with violet eyes having a slender body. She had long silky black hair down to her hips. She had a slender body with a large bust. She was wearing a school uniform, which consisted of a dark red jacket with the letter "P" embroidered in gold, a white undershirt, a red bow, and a green skirt with a thin white strip around the lower end of it.
Azrael observed the two as he slowly approached the bridge, as he senses something off about that girl. Apparently she said something to the perverted idiot that made him excited. Something is off. The closer he gets, the worse his bad feeling about that girl gets. Is she a... Soon he was close enough to the two of them. It only took a second before they noticed him.
"You again?" The perverted idiot asked as he noticed Azrael standing behind him.
But Azrael ignored him and stared at the girl for a bit. The girl was stoic and barely reacted to his stare but it only took him a few seconds to confirm his suspicion. She's a Fallen Angel... He could tell. But, what does she want with him? He looked at Issei with an analytical eye to try to figure it out.
"What are you looking at me for?" He asked him in confusion.
Azrael put another sweet in his month before he answered. "Nothing..." It was his response. "May I know your name please?" He asked the girl who discretely gave him a dark stare that the perverted idiot didn't seem to notice.
But she quickly changed into a smile. "I'm Yuma Amano." She told him.
She already noticed what I am as well. Azrael thought. Can't attack her in front of him. He was annoyed by that.
"She's my girlfriend." The perverted idiot announced proudly at the blond boy.
Azrael, maintaining his composure, put another sweet on his mouth. "Oh really?" He asked. "How long are you two together?"
"She just asked me to be her boyfriend." Issei spoke arrogantly like that was a reason to be proud or something.
"Oh, congratulations, how long have you two know each other?" He doesn't know why he was wasting time with those questions. I need to get this moron away from her.
That question seemed to have caught Issei off-guard. "We... Actually just meet a few seconds ago."
And you don't think there's anything strange with the fact that a girl that you literally just met asked you to be her boyfriend?! He had an urge to yell that at his face, but he controlled himself before asking another question. "I don't recognize that uniform, where is it from?"
"I go to a school that's pretty far from here, you probably wouldn't know." She spoke with a fake but very convincing smile. "I have to go now, see you tomorrow." Yuma told Issei while waving at him cutely as she walked the other way.
Azrael observed as she moved away, he had an urge to chase after her but decided to let her walk this time. I should inform Rias about her, even though I'm not happy with it, I technically answer to her thanks to the terms in our engagement. Azrael moved his head to look at the perverted idiot in order to give him a warning about her, but he was met with the sight of a very disgusting looking face that he made as he stared at Yuma as she walked away. The blond boy sighed before he spoke. "Stay away from her, she's bad news." Azrael told him bluntly before he put another sweet on his mouth.
However, Issei seemed to have taking offense to that. "You're just jealous that a cute girl like her asked me out." He spoke with hostility.
Azrael just looked at him with his green eyes before he replied. "Yeah, yeah, I'm totally jealous of a perverted idiot like you who's way too dumb to realize that there's something clearly wrong with that girl." He spoke sarcastically. "You know what, I don't care, just don't come whining to me when something bad happens to you." It was the last thing he told him before he walked away.
"Like that'll ever happen!" It was his response, before he walked and descended some stairs at the bridge.
Azrael arrived at his home after a short walk, the day was somewhat unpleasant due to what happened at that bridge. But Azrael didn't care, all he wanted to was eat some ice cream and go to sleep.
Once he arrived at the door however, he felt something, a strange sensation that he didn't know how to describe. Until he heard something from behind, which, in a split second, caused to jump out of the way to evade an upcoming projectile. Light spears. Azrael thought as he saw the spear piercing through the door of his home. The blond haired boy only took a few seconds to figure out what was going on.
"You know, I sincerely wasn't expecting you to attack me now." Azrael spoke to his attacker.
"Oh, I wasn't planning to, but you left such an impression that I changed my mind." His attacker was Yuma Amano once again, but she looked different from before. She grew taller, taking on a more mature appearance, and her eyes changed, taking on a darker, more evil look. Her clothing also changed dramatically, now consisting of black, strap-like objects resembling leather around and under her breasts, a thong-like piece held around her hips by three thin straps, gloves that ran right up her arms with small lengths of chains hanging from them, shoulder guard-like objects on her shoulders with three large spikes sprouting from her right shoulder, and black thigh-high heel boots. She was flying using her black wings right above Azrael.
"Tell me, what exactly did you want with that perverted idiot?" He asked in curiosity.
"That perverted loser had something special, let's leave at that." She told him.
"Alright then." Azrael replied before removing his hat and bowed before the Fallen Angel. "My name is Azrael Astaroth." Suddenly, two Devil Wings pop out of his back. "It will be my pleasure to kill you." He informed her before putting his hat back into his head. Before he used his wings to fly off the ground and stand at the same height as her.
Sorry everyone for the delay, for the ones who aren't aware, my computer broke at the beginning if the year and since I'm unemployed since the beginning of the pandemic, there's no prediction to when I will be able to replace it and the shitty phone I'm using makes writting pretty difficult.
Warning: This is not a Issei bashing story, I absolutely despise character bashing. But Azrael has a hatred towards perverts that might fall upon Issei but that's pretty much it.

The story is good so fat. As for the harem I would say look which characters you like most and look what is the limit, where all characters in it still get enough interaction/screentime/character development.

He's a little shy around girls.
So once again we have another overpowered original character who's also a self-righteous hypocrite. he will be collecting girls like Pokemon while in the same breath mocking issei calling him a pervert like that's the only thing to his character. They both want the same thing yet somehow issei is wrong because he's honest about it. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with bashing fanfics but a warning would be appreciated.
This is not a bashing fanfic, I despise bashing fics. Seriously, Azrael has a justified bad first impression of Issei and you already assumed that I'm bashing him. They will actually become best friends later. Chaotic friends, mainly because Azrael hates perverts.

I'm actually really happy with how the meeting with Rias went you didn't have her resent him for being her arranged partner she understood he had no say in the matter like she did and that Azrael was blindsided by it more than her
Saw you reply to someone that you don't know how the Underworld system works so I'm going to have a crack at explaining it
The power in the underworld is currently split between 2 factions the Satan faction who support as you can guess the four Satans this faction is the more progressive faction and the other faction is the Great King faction this faction is lead by the house or Bael and are more conservative fully believing in pure blood purity and all that
It should also be noted that each Satan heads their own faction and supporters with the two biggest factions being Sirzechs and Ajuka and while each faction supports a different Satan the Satan factions all work together aside from disagreement over small things
Also since he's the son of Ajuka, Azrael should already have supporters looking to have him eventually take his fathers place as the next Beelzebub or at the very least see him become a Satan
You also have the extra demon clans who are nobles like all the pillar devil families but unlike them they don't take part in Goverment and for the most part keep to themselves the exception to this is the number 2 rating game player Roygun who is head of her family the Belphegor family
I hope I made some sense out of that point is you've got the Satans as the ultimate leaders of the devils

Oh, he will, but their friendship will be pretty chaotic since Azrael hates perverts and Issei is jealous that Azrael ends up getting a harem.
Let's just say that, Azrael will involuntarily become her object of persue after a chess game.
