Disclaimer: This is a work of fanfiction based on the Pokemon anime. All recognisable characters, plots, and settings are the exclusive property of Nintendo and the Pokemon franchise. I make no claims to ownership, nor am I making any profit.

This work was an inspiration from stories such as Traveller by The Straight Elf and Symbiotic by Constructive Writer and Legend by BlackStaff and NightMarE.

Type: Multi-Shot (It has six parts)

Author's Notes: I have never written a Pokemon one-shot before. It's something I solely enjoy and have been dying to write but couldn't get enough inspiration or time to do so. Some pokemon have evolved and are far more powerful than anime.

I also have three Harry Potter fanfictions going on right now along with another one-shot. If it strikes your fancy, go check them out. The fics can be accessed from my profile. I'd appreciate your likes, follows and reviews. It inspires me to work harder.

This fic has no beta. I'm in search of a beta-reader since I only have one right now. If anybody is interested in betaing my other fics, send me a PM or join my Discord server.

Legends of the Fallen

Ash vs Tobias- Part 3/

"Trainers! Return your injured Pokemon and send out your next ones." The referee spoke, gesturing for Tobias to return his fallen Latios.

"Pikachu! Return," Ash called out.

Pikachu looked back questioningly before returning back to his trainer.

"Heatran! I choose you for this battle," Tobias summoned his third legendary for the battle.

Who is this pokemon? By the looks of it, it's obviously a legendary pokemon. Ash mused before taking out his Pokedex and pointing it at the pokemon. With a beep, the device blared to life.

Heatran, the Lava Dome Pokémon. Heatran lives in volcanic caves and uses its cross-shaped claws to manoeuvre across stone walls. Its body is made of rugged steel. However, it is partially melted in spots because of its own heat.

This Pokemon has the ability classified as Flash Fire, which raises the firepower capability of a pokemon when it's hit by a fire type move. This is due to it using the fire energy to supercharge its own internal flames.

It's a Fire-Steel Type and is classified as a Legendary by the Sinnoh Pokedex system. Trainers must keep extreme caution while facing this pokemon.

Hmm. So another legend. Ash had met one in the Michina Town battle. If not for Pikachu, it would've taken his entire team out.

"Gabite! I choose you," Ash spoke, throwing the Pokeball. The pre-evolution of the Land-Shark pokemon appeared in the field in a flash before roaring to the high heavens.

(A/N- There's no way that a Gible can learn Draco Meteor and not evolve. I caught a Gible in Platinum in Wayward cave and managed to get a Garchomp before Elite Four. Let's just say that Gible evolved somewhere after Ash's 8th Gym Battle for this one.)

Ash knew that it was next to impossible for Gabite to win against his opponent. But he was after the type advantage that his little dragon had. While he usually detested type advantages, Gabite held quite a resistance to Heatran and would not immediately get knocked out in one hit.

Guess there's a first for everything. Ash smirked in amusement at the thought.

"Let the battle begin!" came the referee's call.

"Heatran! Start strong with Eruption," Tobias commanded.

"Gabite, Dig into the ground," Ash ordered in a calm voice.

"No! you don't," Tobias smirked, "Eruption inside the hole,"

The bulky Heatran moved on the now molten field with surprising agility, reaching the hole where Gabite had entered in an instant.

Ash looked in surprise at the proclamation. For the first time in the match, he internally panicked. It seemed that Hit and Run did not work for him this time.

"Gabite, Stone Edge to distract Heatran. Try to escape from the field," Ash said in his best neutral voice, trying to not give away his panic to the opposing trainer.

Tobias gave a wide smile at that. "Your funeral, Ketchum. Heatran, follow up with an Earth Power,"

As soon as the slightly burnt and smoking Gabite appeared from the ground, a giant chasm, managing to strike it in the torso as the dragon was thrown across Ash's side of the field.

"Gabite, are you alright?" Ash questioned in worry.

"Flash Cannon! End it," Tobias ordered as his pokemon charged a huge beam of concentrated silver energy before firing it at its opponent.

"I believe in you, buddy. You can do it! Try to dodge," Ash said, his starter joining in as well.

A concentrated beam of silvery energy was fired towards Gabite. Instead of escaping, he raised his arms in a protective stance and took the attack head-on.

"NO! Gabite. You have to dodge it," Ash told his Pokemon. But he refused to do so.

The Gabite suddenly started screaming in pain as the attack was becoming harder to resist for him. With a scream, he fired his own Dragon Pulse. However, the attack only managed to delay the inevitable as the Flash Cannon hit him right in the chest.

An explosion occurred as Gabite dropped down like a sack of potatoes. The field was soon covered in smoke as the excessive steel type energy dispersed in the surroundings of the battlefield.

The audience was on the edge of their seats, waiting for the outcome.

A bright light erupted from the smoke, shining the entire stadium in a blinding flash.

Finally! He has been delaying his evolution for so long. Ash thought, still amazed by the phenomenon happening in front of him.

Gabite's whole body started getting taller before it morphed into a more aerodynamic design. His claws elongated as did his face. The horns on the side of his head curved even further.

"Garrrrchooooomp!" the newly evolved Garchomp roared to the high heavens, announcing his presence on the battlefield.

The crowd cheered even louder at the evolution. While evolution was not that rare in the tournaments, very few trainers even had the strength and ability to catch a pseudo-legendary. So seeing one evolve was out of the question.

Garchomp. The Mach Pokemon. Garchomp flies at the speed of sound while searching for prey, and it has mid-air battles with Salamence as the two compete for food. Its fine scales don't just reduce wind resistance—their sharp edges also cause injury to any opponent who attacks it.

This Pokemon has the ability Sand Veil along with the Hidden Ability Rough Skin. This allows the Pokemon to easily blend in Sandstorms. Any attackers that strike it with a physical mobe gets hurt by its sharp claws.

Trainers must keep extreme caution while dealing with this Pokemon. They are extremely dangerous on all terrains and can destroy an entire mountain in their rage.

Garchomp! The apex, the alpha predators of the Sinnoh region. Species so dangerous that they were classified as Pseudo-legendary. As fast as a jet plane and could travel through most terrains faster than someone could escape. Their claws were so dangerous that they could tear apart thick steel beams in an instant. And now his little Gible had evolved into this beast. Ash thought in awe at looking towards the Dragon.

"Pikaaa kachu chaa Pikachu," spoke Pikachu, snapping Ash out of his daydreams.

Ash blushed in embarrassment.

"Ready for another battle, Garchomp?" Ash questioned his newly-evolved pokemon. He got a roar in response.

"This evolution will not save you, Ketchum. Heatran, end this. Magma Storm," Tobias ordered.

"Garchomp! Sandstorm the field," Ash said.

"Alternate between Magma Storm and Earth Power. Don't let it dig its way down."

Neither of the trainers could see their respective pokemon in the maelstrom of Sandstorm and Magma Storm. Ash could guess out the bluish figure of Garchomp struggling to dodge both of the attacks as he struggled to counter with his own.

"Gible, dig underneath the Heatran and stay there," Ash ordered, a devious strategy forming in his mind.

When he could no longer see Garchomp at all, he assumed that his instructions had been followed.

"Use Eruption, Heatran. Flood the field with lava," Tobias ordered.

"No! You don't. Draco Meteor right above you." Ash said.

Garchomp was only too happy to facilitate this. In an instant, a huge rock of Draconic energy hit Heatran beneath it. The Magma pokemon was flung into the sky on the Draco Meteor Airlines as he was propelled into the sky with tremendous force. Garchomp soon emerged from the field, wincing at the lava surrounding him.

Meanwhile, the Draco Meteor exploded in the sky. This resulted in a badly injured Heatran falling from hundreds of feet above the ground.

With a crash that almost created a Sandstorm rivalling that of Garchomp's, the Heatran was buried into the ground in a huge crater. It was down and out for the count as Garchomp soon followed with an Earthquake of his own. The legendary had been defeated.

"Heatran is unable to battle. The winner is Garchomp," the referee announced.

Tobias gave an ugly scowl towards him before returning his fallen Pokemon.

This prompted Garchomp to give another roar, one befitting a Pokemon that had just defeated a legendary opponent.

The third battle is over. Drop a follow, like and comment down on who do you think will be the next Pokemon. If you can even get close, I'll give you a shoutout.

Your reviews and love would be appreciated. I'm working on three full-time Harry Potter stories that can be accessed from my profile. Do check it out if you're into that fandom. I am sure you won't be disappointed.
