Disclaimer: This is a work of fanfiction based on the Pokemon anime. All recognisable characters, plots, and settings are the exclusive property of Nintendo and the Pokemon franchise. I make no claims to ownership, nor am I making any profit.
This work was an inspiration from stories such as Traveller by The Straight Elf and Symbiotic by Constructive Writer and Legend by BlackStaff and NightMarE.
Type: Multi-Shot (It has six parts)
Author's Notes: I have never written a Pokemon one-shot before. It's something I solely enjoy and have been dying to write but couldn't get enough inspiration or time to do so. Some pokemon have evolved and are far more powerful than anime.
I also have three Harry Potter fanfictions going on right now along with another one-shot. If it strikes your fancy, go check them out. The fics can be accessed from my profile. I'd appreciate your likes, follows and reviews. It inspires me to work harder.
This fic has no beta. I'm in search of a beta-reader since I only have one right now. If anybody is interested in betaing my other fics, send me a PM or join my Discord server.

Ash vs Tobias- Part 4/6
"Trainer! Send out your next Pokemon" The referee said.
"Zeraora! Standby for battle," Tobias called out, throwing his Pokeball on the field.
In a flash of light, a yellow coloured bipedal pokemon appeared on the field. It had black markings all over its body. The pokemon looked quite agile and had blue fur on its chest and head.
Ash pointed the National Dex at the Pokemon.
Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokemon. It electrifies its claws and tears its opponents apart with them. Even if they dodge its attack, they'll be electrocuted by the flying sparks. This Pokémon creates a powerful magnetic field by emitting strong electric currents from the pads on its hands and feet. Unlike most Electric-type Pokémon, Zeraora doesn't have an organ within its body that can produce electricity.
"Let the battle begin!" the referee announced.
"Zeraora, Set up an Electric Terrain. Follow up with Hone Claws," Tobias commanded.
With a loud cry, Zeraora expelled an enormous amount of energy from its body. In an instant, the field was covered with cracking lightning that seemed to remain on the field instead of dissipating.
"Garchomp, Earthquake the field. Remove whatever your opponent has done," Ash ordered.
Garchomp stomped his feet. Gigantic shock waves erupted from his feet as the ground itself rippled before spreading across the entire field as a wave.
"Bounce over the field and use Play Rough on the Garchomp," Tobias spoke gleefully.
In an instant, the speedy Zeraora was high in the air and moving towards the Land Shark Pokemon.
"Garchomp, Parry with Dual Chop!" Ash said to his pokemon.
To Ash's surprise, the Dual Chop didn't even have any effect on the Play Rough. With a grunt of effort, the nimble Pokemon smashed into the dragon with astonishing ferocity. Garchomp immediately dropped like a sack of potatoes.
"Garchomp is unable to battle. The winner is Zeraora," the referee spoke.
Ash immediately returned his Pokemon shakily. He had never seen such brutality from any pokemon.
Pikachu could handle it. But they both were Electric types and his own didn't have an arsenal of different moves. The legendary in front of him had an extensive collection of moves and it was an attempt from Tobias to remove his strongest. Guess I only have one choice. At least Garchomp was able to dissipate most of the electricity on the field. Ash mused, calculating his next move very carefully.
"Sceptile! I choose you," Ash sent out his next Pokemon.
The bipedal grass type appeared on the field, putting his signature twig inside his mouth before looking at his opponent calmly. The crowd cheered in excitement, seeing a Pokemon from another region. The crowd was slowly turning into Ash's favour because of his performance. No wonder that this was one of the best battles in the Sinnoh League's history.
"Sceptile vs Zeraora! Continue." the referee spoke to the contestants.
"Play Rough again!" Tobias ordered with a smirk.
"Counter with Leaf Blade," Ash called out, not repeating his early mistake. He suspected that the Dragon-type moves had no effect.
The two speedy pokemon collided in the centre of the field in a blur. Each attack being countered by the other as they were as fast as their opponent. While Sceptile's opponent vs slightly faster than him, his reflexes were second to none. It was an equally close battle.
"Aura Sphere into Blaze Kick!" Tobias said, switching his strategy.
"Cut it down and follow up with Dragon Claw," Ash spoke in a hurry, realizing Tobias' plan.
However, the speedy grass type was able to raise his hands coated with draconic energy as a blazing kick smashed into it, barely countering it.
Ash immediately went on the offensive. "Agility. Get some distance and follow up with Dragon Dance,"
Sceptile was able to avoid the blazing kick as he almost teleported across the field. He charged up the draconic energy before infusing it into his body. It wasn't quick enough as a blazing kick smashed across his face, throwing him across the field.
"Sceptile! Are you fine?" Ash asked his pokemon with concern.
The grass type immediately sprung back to his feet. While the attack had left its damage, the energy from the Dragon dance had shielded against the attack.
"Zeraora, rush with Plasma Fists,"
"Sceptile. Charge up an Energy Ball," Ash ordered, getting a brilliant idea.
His pokemon looked at him with confusion momentarily before doing so. Sceptile was one of Ash's ace pokemon after all. He was well acquainted with his trainer's… antics
"Now eat it," came the command.
"What? Zeraora, stop it and evade," Tobias spoke suddenly.
"No! You don't. Sceptile, fire a Solarbeam," Ash smirked in victory.
The Zeroaroa tried to evade the attack, but his speed proved to be his enemy this time as he skidded into the attack before getting blasted across the field and getting smashed into the stadium walls.
"Zeraora! Quick, Rising Voltage the entire field," Tobias spoke, seeing the condition of his Pokemon.
Ash was just about to tell Sceptile to fire another Solarbeam when he felt the wave of electric charge across the field.
"Pikapiii kachu Pi," his starter tried to tell him.
"Are you sure, Pikachu?" Ash questioned. He just received a nod from him as Pikachu's cheeks continued sparking with power.
"Sceptile. Change of plans. Frenzy Plant," Ash called out.
The crowd watched with gaping eyes as a sky-high surge of electricity was met with huge spiked roots being raised from within the ground. Both attacks met each other, lances of lightning struggling to dominate the spiky roots that were slowly gaining ground.
However, the stalemate continued for several minutes as both sides struggled to gain dominance. The energy waves exhibited from the attacks were enormous as the audience struggled to remain in their seats.
"Solar Blade" Ash shouted to his pokemon, hoping he could hear him from within the storm.
"Plasma Fists" Tobias commanded his pokemon, his voice far audible than his opponent's
Two enormous blades of light were formed into Sceptile's hands as he coalesced the energy and made them razor sharp.
Zeraora, on the other hand, drew lightning from the storm before condensing them into raw, crackling Plasma.
Both the opponents entered the storm, not caring about the gales, the roots or the lightning. They kept fighting against it before smashing their attacks into each other. This resulted in another stalemate before Sceptile used his right hand to hit his opponent. This led to him being slammed by the attack.
Both Zeraora and Sceptile were thrown out of the attacks. The storm destabilized before erupting in a large explosion as the pokemon maintaining them were no longer present. After several moments, it dissipated into the now destroyed battlefield.
"Both Sceptile and Zeraora are unable to battle. It's another tie," the referee announced loudly, eliciting a huge round of applause from the audience.
Both trainers returned their Pokemon into their Pokeballs. It was a hard-earned victory, but the stakes in the match were still equal.
But there can only be one winner. Who would it be?
Wow! I managed to complete the fourth battle. Your reviews are welcome and appreciated. I never expected so much love and support for this Multi-shot. Honestly, it kinda forces me to write a Pokemon story after I finish one of my stories.
College stuff is so exhaustive. Still, I'll be posting regularly, so you may find spontaneous updates at the very least.
Who knows, if I get above 75 members on Discord, there would be a story coming.
I'm working on three full-time Harry Potter stories that can be accessed from my profile. Do check it out if you're into that fandom. I am sure you won't be disappointed.
This is a link to my humble Discord abode. It has several fanfiction writers and readers. It's mainly a Harry Potter server, but I'll try to add Pokemon related stuff to it. Stay tuned till then PokeFans :)
