Left adrift in the Water Temple, Dark Link reawakens many lifetimes later, a dark mirror of the Hero of Courage. Unsure of what purpose he has left in a world that half sees him as a monster, Dark decides forge a new destiny out of the shadows of his old one. Hyrule might not have asked for or want two heroes, but that's exactly what they'll get.

Link returns to Ordon to forget past events, but his nightmares of the past keep torturing him. If it wasn't enough, an ancient evil escapes from its prison. Can Link bring peace back again or will he fail, as neither Princess Zelda nor his faithful weapon, the Master Sword, can assist him - for both have disappeared without a trace.

These were baseless legends that Modern Hylians consistently spoke of, waiting for the Goddess's Hero to return and seal the evil back into the Sacred Realm, protecting Hyrule again for centuries to come. Though, as the princess of Hyrule, Zelda is the one to wade through the icy waters of the various springs to stand before the unseeing eyes of the goddess, as each step robs her friend of what little faith she has left, Impa fights her own battle.
