With Sumiko seeming to return back to herself both of her parents sighed relief. As she assisted Kagome with Moroha she enjoyed sitting with her mother as she nursed her little sister.
"Mama, know what?"
"What baby?" Kagome asked looking at her eldest.
"Rin tol me a secret." She confessed happily.
"Well, if it's a secret then you shouldn't tell anyone." She replied. "People tell you their secrets when they trust you and if you tell others then it can hurt them that you told."
"I wasn't mama." Sumiko smiled giggling to herself. "Is a big one."
Intrigued Kagome wondered what Rin had told her. "Do you think maybe if I asked Rin she would tell me?"
Sumiko took a minute to think about it before giving a shrug. "I dunno." After another few minutes of silence other than Morohas breathing as she gulped down drains of milk, Sumiko thought about what Rin had said. "Mama, Rin say that humans hit her too. Shomeru say that Mikos human but has demon eyes like Jijisan. Pa say that on his arms it was cuts when they hit him. Mama's human and Rin's human but you don hit."
"Sumiko it doesn't matter if you're a human, demon, or a half-breed. Some people are just mean. Some people want to hurt others, if you're a jerk you're just a jerk." Kagome said. "People will be afraid of the ones who are different and think they have to lash out at them to keep themselves safe."
"They say mean things 'bout Pa and Towa and Setsa and me."
"I know they did baby girl but it doesn't matter what they say. We will stick together all of us here but also Sango, Miroku, the twins, and Hisui. We're all a big family that loves one another and takes care of each other." Kagome said.
"I know mama." Sumiko said softly twirling her fingers through Morohas dark brown hair. "I don want them mean to Kuro and Muro."
"You're such a good big sister Sumiko. Always helping me out and caring for your little brother, sister, and close cousins." Kagome smirked. "You are a wonderful daughter and niece."
"You a good mama." She complimented back.
"Thank you Sumiko." Ruffling her hair slightly she saw how long it was getting. "I think it's time to start tying your hair back. You kids are getting so big."
"Hey baby." Sumiko chimed as Moroha finished nursing and smiled up at her big sister.
