![]() Author has written 6 stories for Hetalia - Axis Powers, and StarCraft. Greetings. I go by the name of Fangtom. Just a fledgling author and aspiring philosopher. I'm all up for an intellectual conversation; don't worry, I try not to bite. Doesn't it feel great to turn small things into something greater? Favorites: Color: Green. The color of life you'll find in plants and forestry and all sorts of flora. I always wanted to cultivate my own garden. Music: Why would you be tied to a favorite genre or title? Book: Same as above. Movies: War movies. Movies that make you cry. Movies that make you question the human nature. All three combined... Anime: This is actually way simpler. Dragon Ball Z and Super. FullMetal Alchemist. Axis Powers Hetalia. Attack on Titan. Then there's the lesser ones like Assassination Classroom, Parasyte, and GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There (When the JSDF itself isn't blatantly flexing its military might). Character trait: Strength... which can mean many things beyond the physical. I particularly like inner strength: the will to be indomitable, the power to accept change, the resolve to march into a hail of bullets, or just... be happy. Character flaw to overcome: Anger and self-destructive behavior. Games: Gotta love strategy and RTS. There's so much variety!! From Total War to Sid Meier's Civ to Age of Empires and Starcraft. Don't forget Paradox Interactive's games. Let's not forget League of Legends too. I'll either top alone or support bot, but a wise player should learn every role. I'm also partial to FPS, but mostly Team Fortress 2. There's just something satisfying about playing medic and knowing the team depends on you to support them. If I ever get dragged into Overwatch again, I'd love to play Zenyatta and play as a crazed battle medic. RPG Character Archetype/Class: Glass Cannons and Fragile Speedsters Joke: I'm socially awkward. That is the joke. HAHAHA... Food: Seafood! I will never get tired of sushi! Also salmon. God I love salmon. Instrument: Clarinet! It's my first instrument Weapon of Choice: Polearms. Swords are efficient dueling weapons and popular for a reason, but they're WAY too mainstream for me. You can get much more striking power from the leverage a long stick provides, and perfect for characters on a weaker end (Or allows stronger characters to hit even harder). A skilled spearman can make a fool out of an unprepared swordsman. Specifically, I love the dagger-axe. A mechanically simple weapon, yet brutally efficient. You can hack, axe, stab, slash, slice, pull, and bash someone to death with it. An ideal duelist's weapon in my opinion! Though too bad they were phased out in antiquity by spears. Heaven: Tvtropes .org Poem 十五从军征,八十始得归。 I enlisted at fifteen and come home at eighty 道逢乡里人:家中有阿谁? I see old neighbors and ask for my forgotten family 遥看是君家,松柏冢累累。 There lies your house, they say, with pines and tombs aplenty 兔从狗窦入,雉从梁上飞。 Pheasants fly above the beam while hares use the dog entry 中庭生旅谷,井上生旅葵。 My courtyard are covered by wild crops and weeds 舂谷持作饭,采葵持作羹。 I pound the crop for rice, I pick the veggie for food needs 羹饭一时熟,不知贻阿谁! But who shall I treat, even with rice and soup ready? 出门东向看,泪落沾我衣。 I gaze east from the door, clothes stained from tears falling steady A important rule in writing: There needs to be a mutual understanding between the reader and the writer, but it is especially true for writers. Many writers will assume that because they spend their time and energy to write stuff for free, they are the privileged provider. This is not the case. Fanfiction works on similar principles to supply and demand economics. The writer produces his works for recognition, and the reader will spend a valuable resource, their time and energy, to read a story expecting enjoyment and perhaps learn something new. It is the job of the writer to understand the wants and demands of the reader and provide accordingly, not waste people's time with click-bait to promote their own personal fantasies or ideologies. As for readers, appreciate the writers who spend hours to write what you'll read in a few minutes. What I enjoy reading and Writing: Adventure and action that forges the character. Romance is perfectly acceptable as long as it doesn't become a sappy and sugary plot-tumor so dense that it creates a black hole in the story. I treat romance as an extraneous asset to complement a story, and thus I'd rarely read romance... Unless its a ship between characters I like, and that'd better be reasonable. Love at first sight and other cliches teach foolish behavior. What I abhor in writing: Anything that happens in the story must have an explanation, or at least get a good handwave. If you're looking for some constructive criticism or general aid in writing, I'm perfectly available to offer some of what I know to aid in your writing. Though please, as I've been told myself before, do take my words at face value. A food for thought so to speak.
