Chapter Three: One for All and the Truth
Izuku could still feel his ears ringing from getting his ass chewed out by the pro heroes, other than All Might, who had been there, as well as Katsuki, who had been less than pleased by his actions. Izuku was now walking with Katsuki and Setsuna home, both apparently not trusting him to walk home without getting into any trouble. In all fairness, in less than an hour, Izuku had managed to get involved in incidents involving a villain twice.
"Are you kidding me?" Setsuna said with a laugh, her head now sporting a bandage on her head where she had a rather large injury from her landing after being hit by the Sludge Villain. She still seemed to be just as cheerful. "You're crazy, Izuku!" Izuku smiled and nodded, chuckling a little. She had just been informed of what Izuku had done in an effort to save Katsuki.
"No, he's a fucking idiot!" proclaimed Katsuki. "If All Might hadn't shown up, he would've gotten himself killed!" Katsuki laughed it off, but Izuku knew he was angrier than he let on. Setsuna probably picked up on it, too, but chose to ignore it. For the time being, Izuku figured that would be best as well.
All of a sudden, All Might was in front of them, standing in all of his glory. "I am here!" declared the hero with a big grin, before noticing how many people were standing in front of him. "Uh... I must apologize, but can you two please leave, there's something important I must discuss with this young man?" All Might asked while pointing at Izuku.
While Katsuki and Setsuna we're both starstruck, the latter was a little upset. "Whatever you have to say, I'm sure Izuku can trust us with as well!" Setsuna protested. Izuku nodded.
"All Might, these are my best friends. I would trust them with my life, whatever you have to say, you say to the three of us," Izuku responded. All Might sighed, and disappeared in a cloud of smoke for the second time that day. Setsuna and Katsuki's jaws were on the floor, but All Might ignored them.
"Before I start, this is what I usually look like, just to get that out of the way," All Might said to the two unaware of his true form. "That's besides the point. I'm here to talk about recent events. Young man, when I told you that you could be a hero, I didn't think you would take it to heart so quickly!" exclaimed the blonde man.
"When you ran to save your friend, what happened to you?" All Might questioned. Izuku got the feeling that All Might had an idea of what he would say.
"Honestly, I don't know," Izuku said, unsure of why he was asking. "When I saw you in danger, something just sort of... happened," Izuku continued, turning to look at Katsuki momentarily. "My legs moved on their on, it was like I was moving purely on instinct. My min

"My legs moved on their on, it was like I was moving purely on instinct. My mind was only focused on saving the one person I could save." All Might nodded sagely.
"I suspected as much. Do any of you know what all the top pro heroes have in common?" All Might asked.
Izuku shook his head. "No, I'm not the hero nerd here," Setsuna answered with a glance at Izuku. Katsuki just shrugged.
"When I was asked why I decided to become a hero, aside from my belief that the world needed a Symbol of Peace, I told them that, when I was a kid, I ran to save someone without a moment's hesitation," All Might said, answering his own question. "Almost every single hero nowadays has the same story, too."
Izuku still had no idea where this was going, but it looked like Katsuki was slowly catching on to what he was saying. "Are you saying that you want Izuku to be your spiritual successor, and become the next Symbol of Peace?" questioned the blonde boy.
"Yes and no," All Might responded. "While I do want Izuku here to be the next Symbol everyone can rely on, I also wish for him to be my successor in a much more literal sense." All Might held out a hand, and an orb that shone with the colors of the rainbow formed, which apparently was moving the air around it, as All Might's hair began to float into the air slightly.
"Keep this secret well, if word were to get out, it could be the undoing of the public's faith in the pillar of hero society. My Quirk is called One for All, and it wasn't my birthright. I earned it as a boy and have since then cultivated it far beyond what it was when I received it. This sacred torch is what I am offering to you, Izuku!" All Might declared dramatically.
Izuku was speechless, as was his friends. The bombshell had been dropped, and it had blown away any semblance of a thought in Izuku's head. After a long moment of silence, he managed to form a single word. "Yes."
All Might smirked. "I figured you'd say something like that. Don't be too grossed out by what's about to happen," All Might said as he reached up to his head. Plucking a single hair from his scalp, All Might held a hair out in front of Izuku, which blew in the gentle breeze. "Eat this," was all that All Might said, which was all the instructions he needed.
Izuku was starving at this point, and his mind was filled with the thought of eating. Without a second thought, he took the hair and swallowed it whole. "Gross," All Might said with a shiver. "Why didn't you even hesitate?" the pro hero questioned with a concerned look.
"He's always ready to eat anything," Katsuki said with a smirk, finding All Might's disgust to be amusing.
"Well, uh, with that out of the way, meet me at the Dagobah Beach tomorrow at five in the morning," All Might said before dashing off, looking ready to vomit. Izuku could hear his puking the moment he was out of sight.
"Let's let him deal with that himself. Nothing the Symbol of Peace can't handle," Katsuki suggested. Setsuna nodded, but Izuku had to cut their talk short.
"I have to go now. My mom's gotta be worried sick, and I don't wanna be in much more trouble than I probably already am," Izuku said, beginning to run as he did.
Izuku closed the door behind him, entering the darkened apartment. Not a single light lit the moderately sized home, and it scared Izuku. Never before had the house been so dark and quiet, likely because his mother was deathly afraid of being in the darkness. "Mom?" Izuku called out, but as it echoed throughout the halls, there was no response. His mother's car was still in the parking lot, so she had been here at some point and been taken. Izuku immediately pulled out his phone as he continued to walk inside.
As he walked into the kitchen and began to call the police, he saw his mother sitting at the kitchen table. The moment she saw him, she burst out of her seat and hugged her son, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. "Izuku!" Inko exclaimed, tears streaming down her face as Izuku returned his mother's affection. "You had me worried sick! I thought you were going to die out there!"
"I'm fine, mom," Izuku said soothingly, "I'm fine. Katsuki and Setsuna both are, too."
Inko let go of her vice grip on Izuku and sat back down in her chair, beginning to rub her temple. "Watching you out there today made me realize something," Inko said as Izuku took his seat opposite to her's. "Being a hero is a dangerous career choice for you." Izuku was about to object, but his mother talked over him. "I'm not saying that I won't support whatever decisions you make, but there is something I need to get off my chest."
Inko walked through the wilderness, enjoying the fresh air outside of the polluted city. The cries of animals around her was like music to her ears.
A sound similar to a whistle followed by a loud boom was like the record scratch, stopping her serene soundtrack. Worried someone might be hurt, Inko ran straight towards the area where the noise had came from. Nearly stumbling over a log, she regained her stride, running past panicking animals both big and small. Whatever had hit was destructive.
When Inko reached the location, all she could find was a crater. No life was in the area, and whatever had landed had knocked down an entire line of trees while descending from the atmosphere. Inko walked to the edge, hoping to see a meteor up close and personal for the first and likely only time, only to be met with confusion. In the crater was a ship that had to be of alien nature due to the odd shape of it. Inko turned around, not wanting to get involved with anything like that, but tripped on a rock and falling backwards, down into the crater.
Inko hit the ship with the back of her head, giving her a nasty headache. "Welcome to Earth, Kakarot," said a robotic voice that had to have been from the ship. A door slowly lowered, revealing a small child no older than three. The toddler had black spiky hair and onyx eyes, as well as a brown monkey tail.
"That baby was you, Izuku," Inko said with a smile, wiping away her tears. "I thought it was a miracle. I never had luck with men, so I took you in and raised you as my own all these years."
Izuku was immensely confused, but one of his first questions was about his hair. Right now, it was curly and green, as it had been for as long as he could remember, making it resemble hers in a couple of ways. Izuku assumed that, with how many Quirks were out there, it wouldn't be too difficult to find one that can change someone's hair permanently.
"Wow... just wow," Izuku said. "That explains a lot."
"Excuse me?"
Izuku chuckled a little. "Well, my 'Quirk' never really made sense to me at all. No one in our family ever had monkey tails or super strength, which really confused me for a while. I actually wanted to ask you that at some point, but now, I guess I don't have to."
"You took that a lot better than I thought you would, but I'm glad," Inko said, no longer crying at all. Izuku yawned. "You best go to sleep, it's getting late." Izuku looked at the clock and realized that it was past ten. Time had flown by during his mother's story.
As Izuku went to his room for the night, he found himself wide awake even at the late hour. His mind was filled with questions, but he had faith that they would be answered with time.
