Barry runs into the cortex as fast as he can with his super speed. He looks around the room, desperate to find her.

Sweat drops form on his forehead, his breathing gets heavier and uneven. He walks further into the dim lit room.

Cisco had been sitting at his desk typing frantically, but now he is sitting still.

HR had been pacing back and forth, drumming his drum sticks together in a slow rhythm, but now he is standing still by the med-bay with his drumsticks by his sides.

Julian had been walking around looking for something, anything, now he is standing still by some desk.

Iris had been standing still, an unreadable expression on her face, now she is standing still by the mannequin with a smirk playing on her red lips.

Barry turns to the med-bay. The doorway is wide, wanting him to go through. He knows he will regret walking into the room, but he will regret it even more if he doesn't.

"Cross my heart, hope to die..."

These words rings in his head as he crosses the threshold. He blinks several times, trying to keep his tears from escaping.

In the bed is a lifeless body. Their light caramel brown hair is spread around the pillow. Their skin is turning paler as the seconds flies.

Orange lighting swirls around the speedster. When it fades everyone starts moving again. Everyone but Barry.

He just looks down at his best friend, his light, his moral compass, his hope.

How could he let this happen to her? He should've stayed with the sweet doctor, like she always stayed with him.

He shouldn't have left her alone. Uncared for, unprotected, weak.

Julian steps over to the bed. HR and Cisco is right behind him.

"No," his accent is cracked and the speedster almost feels sorry for him, but he didn't know her as well as Barry did.

"She's gone," Cisco sounds broken. Barry looked at him. The darker brunette had not only lost his colleague, but his best friend, sister, and the only one he fully trusted.

"She can't be," Julian shakes his head and supports his hands on the edge of the bed.

"I'm sorry," HR apologises, small tears shimmering in his eyes.

Barry doesn't move. How can he? He looks down at her again, an idea crosses his mind.

"What about Killer Frost?"

"What are you saying?" Cisco wiped his cheeks angrily, knowing exactly what Barry meant.

"He's right," Julian adds, looking up at Barry, "it might work,"

The blonde gives them a small nod before closing his fingers around the snowflake necklace on the doctor's chest.

"That's not what she wanted!" Cisco cries out, not wanting to deal with his best friend's evil alter ego, right after her death.

"It's the only way," Julian replied sadly and pulls the necklace off.

Nothing happens. Seconds go by before they all feel colder. They look down at the bed, hoping some icy eyes is looking up at them.

Like they expected, she let out a breath and mist peered out of her pink painted lips.

Her eyes opens and reveals icy blue eyes, just as expected.

The team flies backwards as an ice blast shoots across the room.

Barry looks up to see white mist around the bed. A figure steps out of it and he shivers at the cold.

The figure looks down at him with her cold white eyes. Her platinum white hair lays down her shoulders in curls.

Her blue lips is curled up in an evil smirk. An icicle forms in her hand and her smile grows wider as she walks closer to the speedster. Her hair sways as she moves.

"You're all just pathetic, shallow, desperate idiots," her icy voice echoes in the med-bay.

"You don't have to do this," Barry pleads and raises slowly from the floor.

"You don't have to do this," Killer Frost mocks and laughs.

With a sudden movement she crashes Barry against the wall, her free hand grips around his throat hard.

She raises her other hand still holding an icicle. She weighs it in her hand, making sure Barry knows exactly how pointy it is.

Emerald green eyes looks at the icicle and then connects with white ones.

"Why are you doing this?" he asks. She narrows her eyes before answering,

"I'm broken," her voice was just above a whisper, "all my life I have watched Caity live her life," the icicle presses down on Barry's chest, "I've felt her anger, her regrets, her depression, her excitement, her happiness. Everything! Knowing I didn't even feel that!"

"I'm sorry," Barry says, but receives a glare.

"She didn't know about me, but once she did she feared me. I didn't ask for people to fear me. Ever since you met Caity's doppelgänger everyone thinks I'm bad. I don't need the name you have given me, I haven't killed anyone," she states, not once raising her voice. Her eyes flicker brown for a small moment "I'm tired of being the one to watch. I want to live, and actually feel something," she leans closer to Barry, "I don't want to be someone I'm not," she whispers.

During this Cisco walks over to where Julian and HR is standing. He thinks about giving Killer Frost some sedatives, but his fingers is shaking too much and the small glass bottle falls to the floor.

Killer Frost's eyes turn around. She sees the broken glass and liquid on the floor and moves her gaze up at the terrified man who had tried to drug her.

"I forgot about the three musketeers I see," she growls, all emotions is buried away.

"Caitlin, you don't have to do this," Julian tries to calm the ice meta.

"I am not a scared animal, don't treat me like one. And my name isn't Caitlin," the white haired hisses.

She turns back to Barry. She doesn't say anything, she just looks at him.

So he gently places his hand on the one Killer Frost holds the icicle in. He watches her reactions carefully as he pushes it down.

Her face is neutral, and her eyes are locked on Barry's hand. The icicle falls to the floor, but instead of the clattering sound of pieces scattering around, a loud shot is heard.

Barry watches her eyes. They turn brown and confused, but then white and painful. She clutches her side and her hands turn a deep dark red.

Blood drips from her fingers and she falls to the floor with a thud. Barry uses his super speed and places her on the bed she had been woken up in.

"I don't like this," she admitted, "I don't like the pain," she refused to meet Barry's eyes.

"It's a part of life," Barry gently says. He turns to the doorway and sees Iris looking at Killer Frost with a smile creeping up her still red painted lips.

A grey metal piece is hanging form her fingers. The speedster can almost see the heat of being recently fired radiating around it. Barry meets his sister's gaze. Her eyes turn cold and she walks away.

"Julian, you need to take the bullet out," Barry looks over at the Brit.

"I can't," he replies, "I might do something wrong and kill her,"

"If you don't she will die anyways," Barry looks at him desperately. How can Julian know what Barry feels? He needs to know how much the brunette wants Killer Frost to stay alive. He feels like he owes her at least the chance to try a life of her own.

"Fine, give me what I need," Julian gives in.

"We trust you," Cisco states and pats the Brit's shoulder.

"Caitlin trusts you," Barry noted and gives him some gloves.

"I trust you too," Killer Frost speaks from the bed, but passes out soon after.

Barry is sitting in a chair, watching Killer Frost sleep peacefully. Julian had managed to get the bullet out.

Her ice healing kicked in and left the team relieved to know she needed nothing but rest.

Barry looks at her chest moving up and down in a slow rhythm. He finds it relaxing.

Cisco comes into the room with a red lollipop in his right hand.

"Are you ok?" he asks, looking at him sadly.

"Yeah, I'm fine," the speedster answers and looks back at Killer Frost.

"I could've saved her," Barry notes leaning back in the chair," I could've been here, and helped her. Instead of wandering around trying to figure out a way to stop Iris from dying,"

"One, you have been awake for a long time, get some sleep. Two, do you want Iris to die?" Cisco asks and sits down at the edge of the bed.

"One, sure. Two, no. It's just that Caitlin could've died any moment as she did, but Iris doesn't die until at least a month or two," Barry explains and rubs his eyes. Cisco nods and stands up again,

"Get some rest. I'll be right outside," he walks out, leaving Barry alone with the sleeping woman.

He sighs and lays down on another bed, drifting off to sleep. He smiles as he remembers the one time he and Caitlin played a trick on Cisco.

Cisco sat in his workshop working on some tech as Caitlin entered the room.

"What are you doing with those?" she asked, walking over to him.

"I'm adjusting the wave line trigger, see if I can get these to work over here," Cisco answered.

"So you can catch some breachers?" Caitlin asked and slightly touched Cisco's arm.

"Dear Lord Caitlin!" he jumped a bit from his seat, "your hands are, freezing," he complained looking up at her.

"Caitlin. I've always hated that name," Caitlin replied in a stern, icy voice.

Cisco stood up from his chair, "no, no, no. It's happening. Your starting to become..." he hesitated backing up, looking terrified as it could be.

"Killer Frost?" Caitlin finished his sentence, walking a tad closer to him. They looked at each other.

Cisco was terrified, as he looked at his friend. She started to smile and let out a laugh. She turned a bit around and looked back at him.

"That ain't right. That ain't right, that's just rude. Who put you up to this? Barry put you up to this didn't he? Oh, I should've known," Cisco rambled. Caitlin smiled showing he was right. "y two were..."

"Cold?" Caitlin asked smiling.

"Yeah," Cisco sighed.

"You deserve it for thinking that I could ever become like her. Cisco, you need to stop worrying about me. I may be sad and I may wanna be alone for a while, but I promise you, Killer Frost will never exist on this earth, ok? Besides, you tested me, I don't even have the meta-human gene. So please stop worrying about me, ok?" Caitlin explained.

"Ok," Cisco answered.

"Let's go, Barry wants us upstairs," Caitlin said and they walked out talking about something.

Barry hadn't listened. He had been watching the scene from the computer. Caitlin was sad and wanted to be alone. Now how could Barry help?

Something cold spreads on Barry's back. He turns around and sees Killer Frost wide awake looking at him. He touches his back and feels ice.

"I'm sorry I freezed you," she apologises, "but you wouldn't wake up,"

"It's ok, what is it?" Barry asks getting up from the bed.

"I can't move my legs, I think I'm paralyzed for a day or two," she answers casually.

"Do you talk to Caitlin?" Barry asks after nodding.

"No," was all the answer Barry got. He sighs and walks over to the desk. He grabs a water bottle and throws it gently over to the meta, "thanks,"

"No problem," Barry smiles and takes a sip from another bottle.

"Why does everyone think I'm bad. Cisco's doppelganger is a villain, but that doesn't mean you're scared he will become one on this earth. And all the Wells's are different. Hell, even you. You were a nerd. So why does everyone think I'm bad, no matter what earth we're on?" Frost asks looking down.

"I can't answer that," Barry sits down on a nearby chair.

"I want to be normal," she says and dries away a tear that had fallen down her pale cheek.

"Ok. After you're able to move your legs. I'll make sure you can live a normal life. And for now, we can do whatever you want," Barry offers.

"What about Caity?" Frost asks looking up at him.

"At the moment, you are the only one who knows her condition, but when she wakes up, I want to talk to her. For now you can be you," Barry explains.

"Ok,"

"So how is she?" Barry asks referring to Caitlin.

"I don't know," Frost looks down again, "I can feel her, but it's like an escape is right in front of you, but you're tied down, so you can't reach it,"

"It must feel awful,"

Frost smiles and pats the spot next to her, "I want to watch a movie, your pick,"

Barry decides to let the topic go and speeds away and comes back with a movie. He takes a laptop and sits down next to Frost.

He puts the laptop on her legs and places the movie disc in. He leans back and smiles.

"So what kind of movie is this?" Frost asks when the commercials comes up.

"The movie hasn't started yet," Barry chuckles.

"Oh," Frost replies and leans back as well.

When the movie ends Frost has fallen asleep again. Barry doesn't want to wake her up so he just sits there and lets his thoughts consume him and drag him to a dark place where they were controlling him.

Seconds becomes minutes, and minutes becomes hours. Cisco, Julian and HR has been gone all day and first comes back at the evening.

They walk to the med-bay to see Frost asleep against Barry.

"I hope Caitlin comes back," HR tells Cisco.

"Why?" Cisco asks.

"Julian left," he simply replies and places his hands on his back.

"So?" Cisco asked looking at him.

"He likes her," HR explains, "they both do,"
