Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 2
All the way home all Penelope could think about was Derek's kiss and his revelation, the revelation that he was in love with her, that he Derek Morgan felt the same way about her that she did about him. She got out of her car and smiled as she shut the door, she glanced down at her watch and saw that it was almost 5 so she didn't have long to pack and get ready for her flight to Chicago with Derek.
As she toed off her shoes and wiggled her toes a few minutes later after walking into her apartment she sighed happily and said, "alright now let's get you packed and ready because your hotstuff will be here soon to pick you up". She then headed through the house and got out her two suitcases and laid them on the bed and opened them up and walked over to her closet and started folding outfits and putting them into her suitcases.
She wanted to make sure that she had clothes for just sitting around the house with Fran and the girls, she wanted to make sure that she had something to wear for anything that Derek might throw at her because knowing him he would want to take her out sight seeing Chicago Derek Morgan style.
Penelope wanted to make sure to bring several pairs of shoes, she wanted her tootsies to be comfortable in Chicago too and since it was November it was cold there too so she took a few extra sweaters and got her a couple of coats out of her closet to take with her too, she wanted to be prepared for not only Derek's sight seeing but the cold Chicago November weather.
It didn't take her long and soon her bags were both packed and sitting in the living room floor, now all she needed to do was grab a quick shower and wear something comfortable for the flight to Chicago. As she stepped into the shower she couldn't help but wonder just what this meant for her and Derek, she had always dreamed of being with Derek, he had always owned her heart and not it appears that she owned his too.
When she stepped out of the shower a few minutes later she sighed happily as she dried herself off and tossed her towels in the hamper before dressing in the outfit that she had decided on. She then put on socks and a pair of comfortable shoes and then it was time for makeup and fixing her hair, she wanted to look presentable to Fran and the girls because she in no way wanted to embarrass Derek in front of Momma Morgan.
After making sure that she looked good she smiled and said, "not bad Garcie", she then grabbed her cell and sent a text to JJ and Emily letting them know that she was heading to Chicago with Derek for the holiday. I was only a few seconds before she got return messages letting her know that they were glad that she wasn't going to be alone this Thanksgiving and telling her to have fun.
She was getting ready to put her cell into her purse when she got another message, she smiled as she read the message from JJ that said, "I WANT DETAILS ALLLLLLLLL OF THE DETAILS LATER". She laughed and sent back, "DON'T WORRY I'LL FILL YOU IN ON EVERYTHING AFTER WE GET HOME, LOVE YOU", she then put her cell and charger into her purse and headed through her apartment.
Just as she was stepping into the living room she heard a knock at the door, she grinned and walked over and looked through the peephole and saw the handsome smiling face of her hotstuff. She opened the door and said, "come in, come in", he stepped through the door and said, "you ready sweetness"?, she said, "I am hotstuff but are you sure that it's okay with momma Morgan that I come to Chicago with you"?, Derek said, "woman, you are suppose to trust your man butttttt here" and he pulled out his cell and dialed his moms number.
He put the phone on speaker and after a few rings she smiled as she heard Fran say, "is Penelope coming, is she coming to Chicago with you, is she, is she"?, Penelope laughed and said, "she is, she is". Fran clapped her hands and said, "ohhh praise the Lord, that's great news, it's about time that you come to Chicago and celebrate Thanksgiving with us".
Derek said, "we're getting read to head to the airport now momma so we'll see you in a few hours", Fran said, "alright honey, be safe, love you both and I can't wait to see you both", Penelope said, "it will be good to see you again Fran, it feels like forever since I saw you and the girls".
Fran said, "well sweetheart it's been almost a year since we came to Virginia, it will be good to see you and catch up", Penelope said, "we'll have plenty of time to catch up and I can hardly wait". Fran said, "alright I won't hold you up, bye baby boy, bye Penelope, see you both soon" and Derek and Penelope in unison said, "see you soon" as the call ended.
Derek put his cell away and said, "alright now are you convinced that you are welcome at mommas house"?, she nodded her head and said, "I am", she then leaned in and gently brushed her lips against his and said, "I love you and I can't wait to spend the holiday with you and your family in Chicago".
Derek wrapped his arm around her waist and said, "I can't wait to show you Chicago Derek Morgan style, you are gonna love it sweetness", she grinned and said, "well then sugar let's get this show on the road". Derek grinned and nodded his head and said, "yes let's" as he grabbed her bags and they headed toward the door.
About 90 minutes later Derek and Penelope sat back and looked at each other and grinned as their plane made it's way down the runway and lifted into the air and Derek reached over and intertwined fingers with his baby girl and said, "I love you", she winked at him and said, "and I love you", they both then laid their heads back and smiled as their flight to Chicago began.
