Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 4
After enjoying a delicious dinner with Derek, Fran and the girls Penelope and Derek headed into the living room while Fran and the girls cleared the table and washed up all of the dishes. Penelope sat down on the couch and Derek sat down beside her, he then took her hand in his and brought it to his lips and kissed it, he then turned to face her and said, "you are so beautiful".
She blushed and said, "t t thank you", he grinned and said, "I am so glad that you came to Chicago with me to spend the holiday with me and my family, I can't tell you how good it is to have you here with me". She gently squeezed his hand and said, "it's good to be here with you angel fish", she blew out a deep breath and said, "can I ask you something"?, he said, "you can ask me anything baby girl".
Penelope said, "how long have you felt this way about me"?, he said, "the first time we met I thought you were the most beautiful woman I had ever seen and I was attracted to you sooooooooooo soooo attracted to you". She sat there listening as he said, "I wanted to get to know you, to maybe date you but I never had the courage to ask you out so I settled for being your friend but I, I can't settle for that anymore".
He caressed her cheek and said, "you are my best friend and I love you with all of my heart but I want us to be more, more than friends, please tell me that you want that too", she felt her heart racing as he leaned in and gently pressed his lips against hers. When they pulled apart she said, "I do, I want that more than anything Derek because I have been in love with you for so long and now I want to see where our feelings can take us".
Derek said, "do you know what I see when I look at you"?, she shook her head and he said, "I see the woman that I want to spend the rest of my life with, get married to, have beautiful babies with, grow old with". She looked at him as he said, "do you want the same thing I do baby girl, do you want to spend the rest of your life with me"?, she said, "I love you so much Derek and yes, yes I want all of those things with you".
He ran his finger over her bottom lip and said, "we will take things slow and I will woo you Derek Morgan style", she laughed and said, "you don't have to do that" to which he said, "of course I do, you're my girl and I want to show you what I have to offer". She reached out and caressed his cheek and said, "then I look forward to that then sugar" as she leaned in and pressed her lips against his in a soft but passionate kiss.
Fran grinned as she stepped back into the kitchen and Desi said, "well, how are things going"?, Fran said, "they're kissing sooooooo I stepped back in here to give them more privacy". Sarah and Desi looked at each other and Desi said, "admit it ma that's only because you want those grandbabies, right"?, Fran said, "well of course Desi after all" and Sarah and Desi in unison said, "you're not getting any younger".
Meanwhile in the living room Derek and Penelope pulled apart and he rested his forehead against hers and said, "baby girl how about tomorrow you and I go out on our first official date"?, she said, "really"?, he said, "yes really, you're my girl now and I want to show you off", Penelope said, "I would love to go out with you tomorrow angel fish", Derek then leaned in and kissed her passionately again and said, "you are the best thing that's ever happened to me and that's why I'm going to show you exactly how much you mean to me".
Penelope couldn't hide the smile that graced her lips and she said, "I love you Derek Michael Morgan, always have and always will", he then claimed her lips in another kiss as he pulled her onto his lap. Each kiss was getting more and more passionate and they broke apart when they heard the swinging doors open in the kitchen that let them know that Fran and the girls were coming.
Derek and Penelope both blew out a breath as they tried to calm down, Fran suggested that they watch a movie and it wasn't long into the movie that she glanced over at the couple and smiled because they were both wrapped in each others arms sleeping peacefully.
"She got the attention of the girls, she covered them up and turned the tv off and then the trio of Morgan women slipped out of the room leaving Derek and Penelope sleeping peacefully. As Fran headed toward her bedroom she couldn't help but smile, she was smiling because for the first time in her life she had seen how happy and in love her son was and as she laid down and drifted off to sleep she knew that he had finally found the woman he would be spending the rest of his life with.
