Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 5
The next morning Derek woke up and smiled as he looked down and saw that his baby girl was still sleeping peacefully in his arms, she looked so beautiful laying there, so happy and all his. He leaned down and gently brushed his lips against hers and as he pulled away he felt his heart racing when he saw that her eyes were indeed open.
He said, "morning baby girl", she said, "morning hotstuff, what's happening, why are we here in the living room on the couch"?, Derek said, "beats me, the last thing I remember was us watching a movie with mom and the girls and then the next thing I know I'm waking up here on the couch with you in my arms".
Penelope said, "uhhhhhhh, we better get up", he nodded his head yes in agreement as he reluctantly let go of her so that she could get up, shower and get dressed for their day together. She said, "I'll be back down in a few minutes", Derek said, "okay sweetness, I'll go get my things and shower down here in this bathroom", she sighed and said, "I still can't believe that I'm here with you and that we, that we" causing Derek to say, "we're what"?, she blushed and said, "dating, I can't believe we're dating".
Derek stood up and said, "believe it sweetness because now that I finally have you in my life the way I have always wanted you I'm afraid that you my beautiful oracle are stuck with me". She laughed and said, "and you're stuck with me", he winked at her and said, "go get your shower and get changed because today starts the wooing Derek Morgan style", she grinned and then giggled and saluted him and said, "sir, yes sir" as she headed toward the stairs.
As Derek walked up the stairs behind her he couldn't help but smile because he had been in love with her for so long and now that they were finally together he knew that he had to bring in the big guns and had to show her exactly how much she truly means to him and hopefully by the time this little holiday trip is over she'll see just how serious I am".
A few minutes later he was showered, changed and walking into the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee, Fran said, "morning honey, how did you and Penelope sleep on that couch"?, Derek said, "morning momma and we slept amazing, I can't tell you how good it felt to have her in my arms last night and then to wake up with her still there, I swear it felt like a dream".
Fran handed him a cup of coffee and said, "speaking of Penelope, where is she this morning"?, Derek said, "she's upstairs showering and getting ready for our day together". Fran said, "I made fresh donuts and muffins and their is a plate filled and ready and it's sitting on the table for you", Derek kissed his mom on the cheek and said, "thanks ma" she grinned and said, "you're welcome honey" and watched as he grabbed a couple of each and sat down at the table to wait for his baby girl.
When she walked downstairs a few minutes later the smell of chocolate filled the air, she made her way to the kitchen and found Derek sitting at the table drinking coffee and eating donuts and muffins. He poured her a cup of coffee and said, "come, sit sweetness and have a little breakfast with me before we head out for the day", she nodded her head and grinned as she sat down with him.
She reached over and grabbed a donut and said, "ohhhh this is soooooooo good, your mom is amazinggggg", Derek threw his head back and laughed and said, "truer words were never spoken goddess". The couple then sat there for the next few minutes enjoying a quiet breakfast together before setting out for what would be their first official date together.
As they walked to the door Derek handed her coat to her and said, "here you go gorgeous, let's get you warm and ready to head out" as he helped her put her coat on, he then winked at her and opened the door. Penelope looked up at him as he said, "let's get this day started shall we"?, she looped her arm through his and said, "we shall handsome, we shall" and as they headed out the door they both laughed.
When they climbed into their rental car Penelope said, "how did this get here"?, Derek said, "I already had this car ordered and told them when and where to deliver it too baby girl". She said, "ohhhhh so you were ready for me to be here huh"?, Derek said, "only every Thanksgiving since I met you pretty lady", hearing that Penelope blushed and said, "handsome you say the sweetest things" and then she leaned in and kissed him gently.
Derek then started the SUV and said, "and away we goooooooooo" causing Penelope to laugh as they pulled out of the driveway and onto the road, she had no idea what he had planned but she knew that she couldn't wait to spend the day with him, the first of many if she got her wish.
