Author's Note:
The Chapter has light Aizawa Bashing but since he does it himself, I guess it is fine. Still, you have been warned.
Also, I don't own BNHA, if I did, it won't be so popular.
Staring at the Dimensional receiver, Izuku waited for the signal to open the Dimensional Portal to arrive. Looking to his right, he caught the eyes of his fiancée, Melissa, who gave him a small smile.
If you didn't know her you wouldn't be able to tell from her posture and smile that she was nervous and scared. But she was never able to hide her true feelings from him.
Standing up from his chair, Izuku walked to her and hugged her from behind. Melissa instantly melted in his embrace and closed her eyes.
Izuku understood why she was scared, he knew what he was doing and what he was going to face was different from the part-time vigilantism he used to do. The people- not Villains- he was going to face were strong, they had destroyed Universes. Compared to them, he was nothing.
He was just one among countless Izuku's, one quirkless Izuku among countless of them with Quirks.
"I'm scared, Izuku." Melissa breathed out without opening her eyes.
Izuku kissed her forehead and reassured her. "Don't be, love. I promised I would come back, didn't I? And when I make promises…"
"You never break them." Melissa finished for him. Turning herself in his embrace, Melissa pecked him on the lips and spoke in a fond tone. "That is the only reason I'm letting you leave, otherwise I would have tied and locked you in the house."
Giving a lopsided grin, Izuku teased. "Kinky."
"Prat." Slapping him on the shoulder, Melissa broke into a laugh and Izuku joined her.
Getting their laughter under control, both rested their forehead against each other, just enjoying each other's company.
Their moment was broken when the Dimensional Receiver beeped and spoke.
"Received Message from Izuku Midoriya-04-01-150601-0913. Multi-Dimensional Traveller Completed."
Melissa kissed him once more and broke free from his embrace. "I will go call everyone."
Izuku nodded and turned towards his own MDT.
He did not tell this to Melissa- though, he had a feeling she already knew- but he himself was scared. It was natural to have fear when you were going to become a part of a Multiversal War and lead one of the sides. But, Izuku guessed it was for the good.
Fear kept a person grounded, as long as they didn't let it consume them. And Izuku was confident, his fear would never consume him.
He had faced many problems in his short life. From bullying to scorn from his peers and society to people trying to 'put him in his place' for something that was never in his control. He never gave up, however, his dreams, ambition and family wouldn't let him.
He wasn't an idealist either, he was a realist. Izuku had no problem with those whose Ideals were their driving force, heck, most of his counterparts were Idealists. But, for him, it just didn't work. The bullying and insults since his childhood made him into a realist.
He knew he was not capable of 'saving the world' alone, he never would be. That's why he became a teacher. He was satisfied with helping others achieve their potential and save the world.
He was happy with his Universe's state. The only reason he even was going to take part in the war was that if he didn't stop his other counterparts they would soon come to his world and harm his family.
And that, that was something he was not going to let happen.
Izuku Midoriya had the heart of a Hero but when you try to harm his family, it becomes one of a Monster.

"I love you." Melissa spoke in a soft tone. Giving her a chaste kiss to reassure her, Izuku replied in the same tone. "I love you too."
Bending down, Izuku gave a kiss to Eri on her forehead. "Papa will be back soon, okay Eri?"
Eri gave a nod and smiled. His adopted daughter had come a long way since he rescued her from the Yakuza and Izuku was immensely proud of her.
Giving a last wave to all those present in the room which included his parents, Nezu, Shouta, Nemuri, Hizashi, Majima and David along with Mei, Izuku turned towards the Portal (or was it a wormhole?) opened to Universe-04-01-150601-0913.
"You are ready to go, Sensei!" Mei shouted from where she was maintaining the Device.
Izuku gave her a nod and stepped through the portal with his white lab coat flapping because of the winds created by the power output.
He still had many questions unanswered. Why was he the one who was contacted to lead the side he was the part of? Surely, he wasn't the only 'Genius' Izuku Midoriya? Who exactly was he going to face? What were their reasons for doing this? Was everything as it looked? Or was someone pulling the strings from the background?
He was going to get the answers he wanted, though. One way or another. Sooner or later. He could wait for them. Izuku Midoriya was nothing if not patient.
The first thing Shouta noticed when the counterpart of Problem Child came out of whatever the thing was, the guy was observant. He was looking at all of them with amusement and curiosity but Shouta could see it, the calculating gaze behind it.
He was dressed in a black shirt and blue jeans with a white lab coat. He was also wearing Problem Child's signature red shoes along with round glasses.
Shouta's eyes met the other Problem Child's, the amusement in his eyes went up a notch. He looked at Shouta like he had found his favourite pastime and Shouta felt fear. Not for his life but sanity.
As soon as the feeling came, it left and it felt like it was never there. But Shouta knew this version of the problem child was gonna cause him the same amount of trouble as his own does.
His attention was drawn when Nezu stepped ahead of everyone while they were gawking at the newcomer to greet him. Shouta couldn't fault anyone, to be honest, knowing about an alternate version of the Problem Child and seeing him in flesh were two different things. Especially when they both were different from each other.
One was shy and nervous while the other one's posture was relaxed and radiated confidence.
"Man… it feels weird to meet an alternate version of myself face to face. Wouldn't you say so?" The older Midoriya said with a grin and offered his hand for a handshake to their Midoriya who was standing the nearest to the Device.
Izuku, it was much easier to differentiate if he called the younger one that- even though a small of Shouta said he didn't deserve to, reached for the hand tentatively and shook it.
"Y-Yeah, I g-guess."
Nezu coughed to draw Midoriya's attention to himself and cheerfully welcomed him.
"Welcome, Mr Midoriya to our world."
Laughing, Midoriya picked Nezu up and put him on his shoulder. "Please, don't call me Mr Midoriya. That's what they call my dad. Just call me Kyoshi or Doc, since calling me Izuku would be confusing."
"As you wish Kyoshi-san." Nezu replied with a chuckle. Shouta wanted to strangle him because the rat was enjoying this too much.
"Now Kyoshi-san, I think we have a lot to discuss." Nezu said solemnly and Midor- Kiyoshi's demeanor immediately changed, just like Nezu's.
"The Conference room?" Kiyoshi asked and Nezu nodded.
Turning to the students and Pro-Heroes Nezu spoke. "Students please return to the dorms. And Midoriya-kun, please come with us. And the Pro-Heroes too."
Everyone nodded and started going their ways, stealing glances at Midoriya. Though, Shouta was proud to notice that most of his students sent worried glances towards Izuku and Izuku reassured them by giving them a confident smile

Trailing behind the others, Shouta noted the differences between the two Izuku's.
The alternate one, Kiyoshi, was confident and was calmly walking ahead of others. There was no nervousness for the meeting that was about to happen. At least outwardly.
While their Problem Child was visibly nervous. Thankfully, it wasn't much, probably because he was busy talking to the Big 3, who were now Pro-Heroes in all but name.
Both of the Izuku were the same and yet different at the same time.
The only time Shouta had seen Izuku as confident and self-assured as Kiyoshi was during the Yakuza Raid and any other time he is facing a villain.
Shouta wondered how it would have been if Izuku was like Kiyoshi all the time. If he achieved his true potential.
A part of Shouta blamed it on himself. For never helping the Problem Child achieve the potential he saw in him the first day. For never helping Problem Child with his problems when obviously he was going through so much.
Shouta prided himself on being a good teacher. But, it looked like with time the pride turned into arrogance. Even Nezu said so in a small meeting he had with the Principal in the morning.
He had started believing that he knew everything, that nobody knew better than him when it came to teaching students.
Slowly, he had become what he hated the most, a hypocrite. Letting Bakugou off the hook when he was so aggressive towards Izuku.
He was an underground hero, his job required him to be observant. Shouta could tell there was a history between both the students on the first day of school. His mind had already made the connection.
Izuku was bullied by Bakugou. For a long time. But Shouta decided to go into denial. Refusing to believe what his mind was saying.
His logic said if it was true then he would need to take action against Bakugou. Which in turn may have resulted in Bakugou's career being finished before it even began. He couldn't do it when Bakugo had such a strong and good quirk.
He put both Izuku and Bakugou together in the Exams together so that they both could set aside their differences and learn to work together, make use of their quirks. But alas, the plan was a failure and somehow he had gained the ire of Nemuri for putting them together.
Aizawa contemplated his decisions the whole night, the previous day. He could say this with clarity: He was a bloody Hypocrite.
He had worked hard during his childhood to reach where he was. He had faced discrimination for having a villainous, useless and 'bad' quirk his whole life. And now, he had ignored the problems of one of the Children he was responsible for because the culprit had a 'good' and powerful quirk.
Pathetic.
He wondered what Oboro would think if he saw him right now? Would he look at Shouta with disappointment or will it be disgust?
Shouta had decided to resign from his position as a teacher, the reason he requested the meeting in the morning, but Nezu had rejected it and his word still rang in Shouta's ears.
" Everyone makes mistakes, Aizawa-kun." A pause. "Hmm. The other Midoriya who is to arrive soon. Talk to him. There must be a reason my counterpart hired him as a teacher at U.A. Sometimes, we should listen and trust the young ones. Just because they are young, doesn't mean they aren't wise."
Wasn't it ironic? He was supposed to ask for advice from the alternate version of the person he wronged. Shouta wanted to laugh at his fate.
Suddenly a hand landed on Shouta's shoulder and he found himself in front of the Conference Room, so deep he was in his thoughts.
Turning around a little, Shouta focuses on whose hand on his shoulder and comes face to face with Mi- Kiyoshi. The guy gives Shouta a concerned look and he barely resists the urge to say sorry for whatever he did to Izuku.
Kiyoshi sighs and a look of understanding appears on his face.
"You know, my world's Shouta had gone through something similar." It takes a moment for Shouta to understand what Kiyoshi is saying and he is unable to hold the look of shock appearing on his face by the familiar way the other Izuku uses his name.
Something akin to amusement enters Kiyoshi's eye and he confirms the suspicion Aizawa had.
"Yes, I was close to my world's Shouta. But, I think I will call you Aizawa because you both are not the same. He's my world's and you this one. You don't have a problem right?"
Shouta shakes his head because no, he has no problem with it. In fact, it was good that the guy was keeping both world's separate instead of projecting someone on their counterpart.
The Pro-Hero inside Shouta approved.
"So as I was saying, Shouta went through the same thing. It took a bit of time but we were able to get him out of the 'Phase'." Kiyoshi says the last words with air quotes and continues.
"Knowing the madlad Nezu is, he would have suggested you talk to me. So, don't worry, I will get you out of it too. We don't have time right now since we have an important meeting, but we can talk in the evening. Okay?" Shouta can only nod dumbly because wow. He now finally understands what Nezu meant.
And maybe, just maybe, what Kiyoshi said about some Izuku being smarter than Nezu is true and Shouta doesn't know how to feel about that...
"Come on, we need to start the meeting."
For now, though, he lets himself get dragged inside and sidelines every single self-deprecating thought and problem. They have a War to fight and worlds to save.
