Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 16
Penelope grinned and said, "papa bear what are you doing here in Chicago" as she walked across the room and wrapped her arms around her in a loving daughterly hug. Dave said, "well kitten I was here in Chicago for a book signing and since it ended a little early and I knew that Derek was here visiting his mother and sisters I thought I would pay everybody a surprise visit".
She smiled and said, "that's great, it's good to see you", Dave said, "good to see you too but what's this I hear about Derek Morgan finally taking you off of the market"?, Penelope laughed as she held out her left hand so that he could see her ring. She then said, "he proposed and I said yes", she looked over at Derek and smiled and then back at Dave and said, "I've been in love with him for so long Dave and finding out that he felt the same way just brought us together really fast".
Dave looked at Derek and said, "congratulations son, you have yourself an amazing woman here", Derek walked over and shook hands with Dave and said, "don't I know it Dave, don't I know it". Fran grinned and said, "I knew that this day would come, I've known it for quite a while", Dave said, "yeah me too, we all knew, everybody but the two of you apparently" causing Fran and Dave to both grin as Derek and Penelope stood there looking at each other.
Fran said, "so how long will you be staying in Chicago"?, Dave said, "probably until Sunday, I'll fly home late in the evening", Penelope said, "yeah, us too Dave" and Dave said, "so kitten I guess you like it here in the windy city"?, Penelope looked at Derek and Fran and said, "ohhhh certain parts of it are really appealing to me", Derek winked at her and said, "ya know she's talking about me right"? Dave slapped him playfully on the back of the head and laughed.
Desi and Sarah walked through the door and smiled as Desi said, "D D David Rossi, ohhhh my gosh that's The David Rossi the famous writer and he's here in our house", she turned around to her sister and said, "do you see him, do you see him"?, Sarah said, "yes Desi I see him, I see him but you need to calm down before you start hyperventilating".
Derek said, "Dave is one of my friends and team mates", Desi looked at Derek and said, "no way", Penelope said, "yes way, papa bear is a member of our team of crime fighters too, along with Hotch, Em, JJ annd Spencer". Desi said, "I am such a big fan of yours Mr. Rossi, I have all of your books", Dave grinned and said, "please call me Dave, all of my friends call me Dave".
Sarah waved her hand in front of her sisters face and said, "earth to Des come in Des", Desi looked at her sister and said, "huh, what, sorry what did you say Sarah"?, Sarah laughed at her sister and said, "nothing important" and the room was filled with laughter as they stood looking at a very confused Desiree.
Fran smiled and said, "please join us for some tea on this cold night"?, Dave said, "thank you Fran, I don't mind if I do" as he followed her into the dining room to enjoy a cup of hot tea. Derek looked down at Penelope and said, "I still can't believe that you said yes, that you are going to be my wife", she wrapped her arms around his neck and said, "well believe it handsome because you are stuck with me now".
Derek laughed and said, "I can't think of a better place to be then right here with you sweetness", he then leaned in and gently pressed his lips against hers in a passionate kiss. They pulled apart to the sound of Fran calling them to come everybody for a cup of tea, Derek intertwined fingers with his fiancee and led her through the house so that they could join the others.
