Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 18
The next day was Wednesday and so the Morgan household was filled with the wonderful aroma of desserts as the women all spent the entire day working on desserts and other dinner items like potato and macaroni salads, pasta salad. Penelope had already finished her death by chocolate dessert and it was getting ready to start on her sweet potato pie when Derek walked into the kitchen smiling.
Penelope said, "hotstuff, what" and then his lips were on hers, she wrapped her arms around him and held him tight, they pulled apart and he rested his forehead against hers as they both tried to catch their breath. She said, "wow, what brought that on"?, Derek said, "I haven't seen much of you today with you cooking and me and Desi sitting up the tables and chairs for tomorrow soooo" and his conversation stopped when Fran said, "honey can you do momma a favor"?, Derek smiled and nodded his head yes.
Fran said, "can you go to your aunt Vons and pick her up, she's going to be spending the night here with us", Derek said, "sure thing momma" and Penelope smiled and said, "be safe out there handsome". He said, "always baby girl, always", she then watched as he walked out of the kitchen and when he walked out of the house and shut the door Penelope turned to Fran and smiled as she said, "thank you".
Fran laughed and said, "no problem honey, I knew that you wanted to get your surprise ready and it's hard to do with him underfoot" and Penelope nodded her head and said, "again thank you" as she then started quickly grabbing her things so that she could get Derek's surprise fixed and hidden before he gets back/
A little while later Penelope sighed happily and said, "well that's done", she then turned to face Fran and said, "Fran can I ask you something"?, she said, "sure honey, you can ask me anything". Penelope took a deep breath and said, "welllllll I was wondering just what you think of Dave"?, Fran said, "he's an amazing person and he really seems to be good at his job and he loves both his FBI job and writing books".
Penelope grinned at her and said, "I couldn't help but notice how the two of you looked at each other and", Fran said, "he's very attractive anddddd I", Penelope said, "you what"?, Fran said, "he's coming by later to pick me up, he asked me to go out to dinner with him today and I said yes butt" and Penelope said, "you're afraid of what Derek will say"?, she nodded her head and said, "yes, very much so".
Penelope opened her mouth to say something and that's when they heard the door shut and she said, "don't worry about hotstuff I'll take care of him for you", Fran sighed happily and said, "thank you honey". Penelope said, "any time Fran, any time" as they walked out of the kitchen and headed into the living room to spend some time with Von before Fran was to head out to dinner with Dave.
Von, Fran and the others sat laughing and talking for quite a while before Penelope intertwined fingers with Derek and said, "angel fish can I talk to you about something"?, he said, "sure baby girl" as they stood up and excused themselves from the room and headed upstairs to Derek's room.
When they got inside Penelope said, "handsome I need to tell you something and I don't want you to be mad", Derek said, "sweetness I'm not going to get mad no matter what you have to tell me". Penelope wrapped her arms around Derek and said, "well it's about your mom and Dave" and Derek said, "ohhh you mean that he's taking her out to dinner this evening"?, Penelope said, "what, how did you know that"?, Derek said, "Dave called me and told me about it himself, he told me that he was fond of my mom and wanted to get to know her a little better".
Penelope said, "and you saiddddd"?, Derek said, "I told him as long as my ma was happy I was happy and that he had better treat her right and be good to her" causing Penelope to grin because they both knew that Dave was an honorable man and would do anything it took to keep her safe and happy.
Derek said, "soooooo is that all you wanted me for"?, she bit down on her bottom lip and said, "welllll since we're alone I guess we could" and no more words were needed as he pushed her down on the bed and they spent the next little bit making love and they made it back downstairs just in time to see Dave and Fran leaving for their dinner date.
Penelope smiled and said, "have fun you two" and Dave said, "we will kitten, we will" and Derek stood there with his arms wrapped around his baby girl as they watched Dave and Fran pull out of the driveway and head up the street. They themselves turned around as Von said, "okayyyyyyy dinner is ready, come get it, come get it", they intertwined fingers and then went to enjoy a delicious meal with Von and then spent the rest of the evening curled up watching tv with his sisters and Von before turning in early because the next day was Thanksgiving and they would have to get up early to start cooking and getting everything ready for their company.
