Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 20
A little while later Fran, Penelope, Von and the girls carried the food out to the tables, everybody gasped in surprise at all of the amazing food that was placed down before them. Fran said, "I hope that everybody is hungry because we have plenty of food to go around so please don't be shy" and everybody laughed.
Fran stood at the head of one table and said, "I would like to say grace if that's okay"?, everybody nodded their heads yes and they all sat there listening and waiting on her prayer to start. She sighed happily and said, "I am so thankful for another year with my family and friends, this year has brought us something new to the family, it is bringing me a daughter-in-law".
The team looked around at each other and then at Penelope who smiled brightly, Fran then said, "I am thankful that everybody coudl be here with us this year, old and new family alike are always welcome in this house, no matter what time day or night", She then smiled down at her daughters and her son and said, "my children are my life, they are my heart and I hope that the rest of their lives are filled with nothing but joy, peace, happiness and for me grandbabies" causing everybody to laugh and say, "AMEN" in unison.
JJ then looked at Penelope and said, "waittttt not only are you dating Morgan but you're getting married to him too"?, she held up her left hand and smiled as she nodded her head yes, she then said, "we'll talk after dinner, okay"?, the girls both nodded their heads yes in agreement as they then went to filling up their boys plates with food.
Penelope smiled at Derek and said, "I have a surprise for you angel fish", he said, "a surprise for me" as he watched her stand up and walk into the kitchen only to come back with a covered dish. She placed it down in front of him and said "I hope you enjoy it", she then watched as Derek uncovered it and said, "SWEET POTATO PIE, YESSSSSSSS".
He then stood up and kissed her passionately and said, "thank you baby girl", she blew out a deep breath and said, "you are very welcome and if that's the way you're going to thank me every time I fix them I'll be fixing them quite often". Derek rested his forehead against hers and said, "I'll thank you that way every time, I promise" causing her to grin as they sat back down at the table to enjoy the delicious food.
JJ and Emily couldn't help but notice that Dave was sitting beside Fran, JJ smiled and whispered, "it looks like the love bug has bitten more than one Morgan this holiday season". Emily smiled and then their attention then turned to the food that was heaped up in front of them on their plates.
Some time later after everybody had eaten their dinner and had dessert Derek said, "baby girl that death by chocolate was off the charts amazing", she said, "thank you hotstuff, I'm glad that you liked it". Charlotte said, "it was very delicious Penelope, if you don't care could you give me your recipe"? she said, "sure, remind me after dinner and I'll right it down for you", Charlotte grinned and said, "thank you" as she went to helping the others clean off the table.
Derek stood in front of his team and said, "guys this is one of my best friends from school this is T-bone and his beautiful wife Charlotte and their twin daughters and this is my aunt Von". Derek then continued by introducing everybody else to them and then said, "seeing all of you today was a surprise, a good surprise for sure", JJ said, "we called Dave Tuesday night and set all of this up with him and Fran and we wanted it to be a surprise".
JJ then turned to Penelope and said, "it looks like we're not the only one with a surprise", Penelope grinned and said, "alright girlies, follow me into the kitchen and I'll fill you in on everything that happened from the time I decided to come here up until the time you guys showed up", JJ and Emily grabbed plates and silver ware off of the table and then made their way into the kitchen.
Derek grinned and shook his head as he watched all of the women disappear into the kitchen, Hotch and Reid looked at Derek and Reid said, "welllllllll, we want an explanation", Derek grinned and then started filling them all in on everything that had happened and how glad he was that he had finally pulled his head out of his butt and told her how he felt.
Meanwhile in the kitchen the girls were hanging on Penelope's every word, they sat in awe as they listened to her tell about how Derek kissed her and told her in her office that he was head over heels in love with her and how he asked her to come with him to Chicago for Thanksgiving, how he courted her and then how he had proposed to her and she happily accepted.
A few minutes later after she had finished they all looked up to see Derek walking into the kitchen, he leaned over and kissed her lips gently and said, "I love you", she said, "and I love you". The girls looked at each other and grinned and as Derek dipped Penelope and deepened the kiss the entire team said in unison "IT'S ABOUT TIME" causing everybody to laugh.
