Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 23
The next morning Derek woke up once again to an empty bed, he smiled and said, "already up and at it, that's my girl", he threw the covers back, changed his clothes and made his way downstairs, When he stepped into the dining room he saw his mom, sisters and baby girl sitting at the table talking while they waited on the others to arrive.
Derek walked over and poured himself a cup of coffee and sat down at the table with them and looked at JJ and said, "where's pretty boy, Hotch and Dave"?, JJ said, "Jack and Henry weren't awake yet so they stayed at the hotel but don't worry they'll be here soon". Derek reached over and grabbed a chocolate donut and started eating it, he then winked at his future bride and then sat there listening to their conversation.
Emily said, "the first thing you two have to decide is where you're going to get married because that wasn't finalized yesterday", Penelope looked at Derek and he said, "I'll get married anywhere you want to sweetness". Penelope bit down on her bottom lip and said "well I would love to get married here in Chicago", Derek said, "alright, now we need to narrow the place down exactly, like do you want to get married here at mommas, or in a church"?, Penelope said, "church, definitely a church".
Desi said, "what about the church that ma an pops got married in, it's not far away and that place is nice", Fran said, "it's a beautiful church, here let me show you some pictures" as she got up and walked over to the bookcase and pulled out an album and walked it back over to the table.
She opened it up and Penelope gasped at how beautiful everything was, she said, "ohhhh hotstuff, just look at this church", Derek siad, "it is beautiful and it would be plenty big enough for all of our family and friends". Penelope looked at Fran and said, "who do we need to talk to about getting the church"?, Fran said, "that would be Martin Close, hang on and I'll call him right now" and everybody watched as she walked over and grabbed the phone and then dialed his number.
A few minutes later she smiled and said, "thanks Martin" and ended the call, she said, "well it's booked for Christmas Eve evening service but it's available Christmas Eve morning and Christmas afternoon". Derek looked at Penelope and said, "so what do you want to do baby girl"?, she said, "how about Christmas Eve morning, do you think we can pull that off"?, Fran said, "honey with all of us working on it, I know we can".
It wasn't long before the others arrived and then the men headed to the living room to continue with their plans while the women stayed in the dining room, now all four kids on the other hand were in the den watching movies so that the adults could have plenty of time to plan the wedding that was happening in less than a month.
The first thing Fran did was call Martin and finalize Christmas Eve morning at 11:00 for the wedding, that way the church couldn't get booked and they would be able to have plenty of time to decorate. Now that the when and where were taken care of, next thing the women needed to handle were the dresses, flowers and reception.
The men were working on the tuxedos and Dave said, "don't worry about your honey moon I'll take care of that for you"?, Derek said, "Dave I can't ask you to do that"?, he said, "you're not asking, I'm offering so please let me do this for you and kitten". Derek sighed happily and nodded his head yes and then was pulled into another conversation with Reid about colors for the ceremony.
Derek said. "I have no idea, I guess we need to find that out" and he got up and walked into the kitchen and said, "baby girl, what colors are we going with, we need to know before we can get started on trying to find the decorations". Penelope said, "welllllll, we were just looking at bridesmaids dresses and the two we picked out are theses" and she showed him 5 beautiful peach colored dresses so what about peach and white"?, Derek said, "works for me goddess" and then he turned around and walked back into the living room and told the men peach and white".
Dave said, "now that will make it easier for us to look for decorations" and Derek nodded his head yes in agreement as they then continued scrolling on the computer for matching decorations. In the dining room Fran said, "alright now we need to find flowers, so how about we look at peach and white colored flowers"?, Penelope said, "are their any florists nearby"?, Sarah said, "yeah Sadie's place has some amazing flowers and they have a website that we can check out".
Penelope smiled as she let her fingers to the walking and it didn't take but a few seconds before she found the site, they looked through flowers for a little while and managed to find the perfect bouquet for the bride and for her three brides maids. Penelope sighed and said, "alright so that has the church, my dress, the brides maids dresses and the flowers, not bad for a few hours of working is it ladies"?, the women all smiled.
Fran said, "alright so I'm writing everything down here, so we have the church, you have 5 brides maids, they are JJ, Emily, Sarah, Desi and Charlotte, right"?, Penelope said, "right". Fran said, "alright and we have all 6 bouquets ordered so now all that is left is to set a time so that everybody can be fitted into their dresses".
Penelope looked at Fran and said, "well I can pretty much come back here any time, I can always bring one of my babies with me and work from here if I need to sooooooo we need to find out when Sadie is available", Desi said, "don't worry I'll go call her right now and see what we can get set up" and Penelope grinned as she watched her future sister-in-law leave the room with a smile on her face and the phone in her hand.
When Desi walked back into the room she said, "Sadie said that she would need us all one day next week, will that work"? and Penelope nodded her head and said, "it works for me", she then loked at her friends and said, "what about for you two ladies, does that work for you" and JJ said, "so far but if plans change we'll squeeze the time in somewhere" causing Penelope to smile and then sigh happily.
Charlotte said, "great, now how about we take a break and ohhhh let's order pizza", Penelope said, "sounds good, sounds good" as they got the order settled and got it placed. Now all that was left for the day was for everybody to laugh, eat and have fun, Von shook her head and said, "ya all know that their is a couple of fridges full of food right"? Sarah said, "uhh yeah buttttttt we want pizza for lunch and then for supper we'll pig out on leftovers" causing her to laugh and shake her head at her niece.
