Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 25
As Penelope opened her eyes she couldn't help but smile, she was smiling at all of the amazing memories she's made while she's been here in Chicago, the memories that she will carry with her for the rest of her life. Today was Saturday, which meant that it was their last full day here in Chicago and that also meant that they would be able to spend the morning with just her and Derek because everybody was getting together for one final dinner for this trip.
Penelope was pulled from her thoughts as she felt Derek's lips on her neck, she said, "morning handsome", he said, "I'll show you a good morning hotstuff", she giggled and said, "heyyyyyy that's my line". Derek smiled against her neck and said, "I can't believe that today is our last full day here, well at least until we're back for wedding related trips anyway".
She said, "I know what you mean sugar, everything seems so unreal doesn't it"?, Derek said, "it does but I am soooooo glad that I finally had the courage to tell you how much you mean to me because if I hadn't you wouldn't be here with me and we wouldn't be getting married in less than a month".
Penelope rolled over onto her side and looked him in the eyes and said, "I am so so glad that we finally told each other about our true feelings because now I can't imagine my life without you in it". Derek caressed her cheek and said, "I want to wake up with you like this every morning and go to sleep with you wrapped in my arms every night for the rest of my life".
She grinned and said, "I want that too buttt that won't always be possible, not with our jobs anyway", he said, "true true butttttt how about we take complete and total advantage of our last full morning here in Chicago"?, she smiled and said, "I love the way you think handsome" and seconds later his lips were on hers as they then spent the morning making love and making more memories.
When they went downstairs around 11:00 Fran grinned and said, "good morning, well almost afternoon you two", Derek said, "morning momma, sorry about not coming down earlier but I just couldn't let go of this one" as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed the side of her neck.
Fran smiled and said, "not a problem honey, believe me I completely understand", Penelope said, "I still can't believe that today is our last full day here with you", Fran hugged her and said, "don't worry sweetheart you'll be back next week for your fitting, it's not like you'll never be back here again".
Penelope said, "I know but I have enjoyed myself so much being here and getting to know everybody", Fran said, "and we have enjoyed having you here and now soon, very soon you're going to be my daughter-in-law and I can't wait". Penelope smiled at Fran and said, "neither can I Fran, neither can I" and before Derek could say anything their was a knock at the door and as he made his way over to the door Derek couldn't stop smiling because he knew who was on the other side of the door.
Sure enough when he opened the door there stood a smiling Dave Rossi, Derek said, "morning Dave, come in, come in" as he stepped back to let Dave come inside the house. As Dave stepped inside he glanced at Penelope and Fran and said, "well how are you two lovely ladies doing today"?, Fran and Penelope in unison said, "great" causing Dave to smile and say, "good, good".
For the next few hours while they waited on time to join the others for their dinner Dave, Fran, Derek and Penelope sat laughing and talking while they enjoyed their afternoon together.
