Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 27
The next morning Derek and Penelope woke up with smiles on their faces and wrapped in each others arms, they cuddled under the covers for a little while before getting up, getting dressed and heading downstairs to face the world. When they got into the living room they could hear Dave and Fran in the kitchen so they made their way to check in on the happy couple and when they made it to the kitchen they found the couple sharing a kiss.
Dave smiled as he pulled away from Fran and said, "good morning you two or should I say good afternoon"?, Derek glanced at his watch and said, "wow it's almost noon already, where did the time go"? Fran smiled and said, "that doesn't matter baby boy, the only thing that matters is are you happy with how you spent your time"?, Derek said, "ohhhhhhh yessssss" causing Penelope, Dave and his mom to all laugh.
Fran said, "so what are your plans on your last day here until you come back for your dress fitting Penelope"?, Derek and Penelope looked at each other and then Fran and Derek said, "probably just sit around and be lazy for a little while because we don't have to be to the airport until like 6".
Dave said, "my flight leaves at 2 so I'll have to be heading out soon", Penelope said, "have you heard anything from the others"?, Dave said, "they've already made it home and checked in, so everything is good". Penelope said, "good, I'm glad that they made it home safe", Dave nodded his head yes in agreement and said, "me too kitten, me too" then both Derek and Dave wrapped their arms around Penelope and Fran as they made their way back to the living room.
After a few minutes Dave stood up and said, "well I hate to but I have to go", Fran stood up and wrapped her arms around him and said, "thank you for an amazing night", Dave kissed her lips and said, "no, thank you Fran", he then leaned in and whispered something into her ear and she blushed and said, "sounds good" as she then walked him to the door.
Dave hugged Penelope and Derek and said, "have a safe flight back and I'll see you guys at work on Monday", Penelope said, "have a safe flight back papa bear" and Dave smiled and said, "always kitten, always". Fran, Derek and Penelope then stood there smiling and waving as Dave climbed into his rental car and pulled out of the driveway and after he was out of sight Fran said, "their is something that I need to tell the two of you, well the four of you" as she turned around to see Sarah and Desi coming down the stairs.
The five of them sat down in the living room as Fran said, "Dave and I are together, like together together now", Derek, Penelope, Sarah and Desi looked at each other and then all pulled Fran into a group hug and said in unison, "congratulations". Fran said, "he's an amazing man and I really care a lot about him, I know it is happening fast but" and Derek said, "momma the only thing that matters to us is are you happy"?, she said, "I haven't been this happy in a long time honey".
Derek said, "then that's all that matters", Fran smiled and then hugged the four of them one at a time and said, "I love you all so much", Derek said, "and we love you momma, and we love you". The five of them then spent a couple of hours laughing, talking and eating before it was time for Derek and Penelope to grab their things and head to the airport.
Once they had their luggage checked in Derek and Penelope turned to face the trio of Morgans with a smile on their faces, they then hugged everybody and Penelope said, "I can't wait to come back next week, I really love it here". Sarah said, "and we love having you here and just think the next time you are here you will be trying on your wedding gown" and Penelope grinned and asid, "I can hardly wait" as she hugged her future sister-in-law again.
All to soon their flight was called so after giving everybody one final hug Derek and Penelope intertwined their fingers and headed toward the others and after turning around and waving at their family one final time Derek and Penelope disappeared out of sight from Fran, Sarah and Desi.
Once they were on the flight Derek leaned in and said, "I'll never forget this Thanksgiving, not ever", she grinned at him and said, "me either hohtstuff, me either" and then they both settled in for their flight back to reality and sadly work.
