Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 32
The next morning after a lite breakfast everybody had the list of gifts they needed to get and they split up into several different groups so that they would hopefully be able to get all of the gifts on their lists. As they started down the streets they headed into their desired stores and headed for the departments that they needed.
Since Fran had already finished all of her shopping she stayed at home and kept the four children so that the adults could hopefully get all of their shopping done so that they could get the gifts wrapped tonight and ready for the early morning. Fran kept them entertained with movies and helping her make Christmas cookies, a chore that all four children loved, especially since they were doing it with Fran.
Dave managed to get his list completed rather early so he headed back to Frans to give her a hand with the kids and help keep them busy until their parents could get back from shopping. Penelope was paired up with JJ, Emily and Charlotte, each had their own list and were in separate parts of the same store shopping, they each had about 10 gifts on their lists, they wanted to make sure that this Christmas was one that would not be soon forgotten.
Derek was with Reid, Hotch and T as they made their way through the electronics part of one store, Reid was looking at educational games for Henry while T was looking for the same for his daughters so the two ended up helping each other. Derek was looking for something on his list but they were out so he go a substitution, something that he knew the child would like just as much, a remote controlled police car with lights and sirens.
Sarah and Desi were shopping together and had run into Penelope and the others so they stopped shopping for a few minutes and took a break for some hot cocoa so they could rest their tired feet. So far shopping was going good, everybody was able to get stuff off of their list taken care of, their wasn't much left to do and so after finishing their cocoa they decided that after shopping was over that they would meet the guys at their favorite pizza place and eat and then they could take pizza back to Fran, Dave and the kids.
After finishing with the cookies Fran, Dave and the kids were busy working on getting the tree decorated, they wanted to surprise everybody and have it finished by the time they got home from shopping. Dave smiled as he helped Fran and the kids decorate, he had to admit it, he loved this, he loved decorating the tree with the woman he had fallen in love with and he could get use to doing this every year with her.
Finally a few hours later the shopping was over and everybody had rested and had enjoyed pizza and were heading back to Frans place to wrap gifts and let the others eat their food so that they could rest for a little while. When they walked through the front door they were all met with Fran, Dave and the kids saying in unison, "SURPRISEEEEEEE" and everybody looked at the tree and gasped in surprise that it was done and that it looked so amazing.
Derek said, "wowwwwwww that looks good, how did you all get that done so fast"?, Fran said, "hello boy, have you met me"?, Derek laughed and said, "sorry momma, sorry" causing everybody to laugh. T and Reid walked in carrying the pizzas and said, "food's hereeeeeeeee" causing the four kids to go running after them toward the dining room.
Fran said, "were you able to get everything"?, Penelope and the others happily nodded their heads yes and Derek said, "now all we have to do is get it all wrapped" and Dave said, "don'l worry we have several areas set up and ready for that" as he and Fran led the others in the direction that they had ready for them.
While the kids ate the adults started wrapping and soon all of the presents were wrapped and under the huge tree and with the lights all sparkling it looked so beautiful, breathtakingly so. Derek walked up behind Penelope and wrapped his arms around her waist and said, "I can't believe that soon we'll be married, that you're going to be my wife", she turned in his arms and said, "and you are going to be my husband" and then his lips descended on hers.
Over the next few hours the gang laughed and talked about their plans for the morning, they had agreed to start opening gifts around 8 so that they would have plenty of time to celebrate with their family. It wasn't long before everybody started heading either home or back to their hotel for the night and soon it was just the Morgan's, Penelope and Dave left at casa Morgan.
Penelope started yawning some time later and Derek said, "come on sweetness, let's head to bed and get some rest because tomorrow is going to be a longggggggg and tiring day, well the next few days are going to be and don't forget that we're suppose to pick up your dresses and the tuxedos tomorrow".
She nodded her head and said, "alright let's get some rest them" and it was only a few minutes later when a soft snore could be heard coming from both Derek and Penelope as they enjoyed a peaceful nights sleep.
