Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 33
The morning started off with Desi knocking on the door and saying, "come on guys Santa came, Santa came", Derek and Penelope laughed as they got up, got dressed and made their way downstairs to join the others. When they stepped into the living room they smiled as they saw that everybody was already there and waiting for the fun to start.
Derek was Santa this year and he started handing out everybody's presents to them and soon everybody had at least 9 or 10 presents in front of them in a pile to open. Penelope smiled as she unwrapped her gifts, she got everything from a gift certificate for a spa day from T and Charlottes twins to a beautiful pearl necklace from Derek, she loved every one of her gifts.
Penelope then sat back watching as gift after gift was opened and she couldn't help but smile as the children all squealed as they opened all of their gifts, the adults had managed to get everything that the kids wanted and then some. Penelope looked up as Derek started opening his gifts, he got everything from shirts and cologne to tools and a gift certificate from home depot so that he could get some things for his and Penelope's home/
A couple of hours later everybody was fiinished opening their gifts, wellll not quite everybody as Dave reached into his pocket and pulled out another small box for Fran, he took a deep breath and slowly handed it to her. Everybody watched as she said, "Dave you've already given me so much, you really shouldn't have" and Dave said, "ohhhh but yes I should have Bella, please open it" and the family gathered around as she started opening the package.
When she unwrapped it she saw a small black box, her heart was racing, she looked up at him and said, "what have you done Dave"?, he said, "open it and find out" so she opened the box and when she looked up at him he was now kneeling in front of her on one knee, Penelope was nothing but smiles as she watched as Dave said, "Francine Maria Morgan, I know that we haven't known each other long but I am head over heels in love with you, will you do me the honor of marrying me and spending the rest of your life with me"?, as tears streamed down her face she nodded her head and said, "yes, yes Dave, yes" and he slid the ring onto her finger and then stood and pulled her into a passionate kiss.
They pulled apart to squeals and shouts of congratulations from their family and friends, Penelope hugged Dave and said, "congratulations papa bear, you two make an amazing couple". Dave said, "thank you kitten, that means a lot coming from you" Penelope then hugged her future mother-in-law and said, "I always knew that the two of you would get together" and Fran said, "and you were right" as she held out her left hand so that everybody could see her engagement ring.
The air was filled with excitement as everybody continued congratulating Dave and Fran on their engagement and after a few minutes JJ said, "Garcie we need to go get the dresses and then go decorate the church", Derek said, "why don't you ladies go ahead and get the dresses and the rest of us will go ahead and start decorating the church, that way we can kill two birds with one stone".
Penelope smiled and said, "I love that idea" as everybody put on their coats and shoes and made their way outside to the waiting cars and once they pulled out of the driveway the girls went in one direction and the men in another. Tammy smiled as she looked up and saw the ladies walking through the door, she said, "here to get your dresses ladies"?, Penelope said, "yes mam we are" as they stopped up in front of the counter.
Tammy said, "alright follow me" and the ladies all followed her and she smiled as she handed each woman her dress and then when it was Penelope's turn she said, "and the bride's dress" as she handed it to Penelope. The bride-to-be said, "alright Tammy, now what do I owe you"? Tammy said, "not a thing, it's already been taken care of, Merry Christmas".
Penelope said, "already taken care of but who"?, Tammy said, "Santa took care of it so Merryyyyyy Christmas and congratulations" and Penelope hugged her and said, "you're coming tomorrow right"?, Tammy said, "of course I am, I wouldn't miss this wedding for anything in this world" causing Penelope to grin.
At the church the men were workng on getting the church decorated with the flowers and candles and they were almost finished by the time the women arrived from picking up their dresses. Penelope smiled as she looked around and said, "this is beautiful" and Derek said, "not as beautiful as my future bride but yes, it is beautiful" he then leaned in and pressed his lips against hers in a soft but passionate kiss.
When they pulled apart Fran said, "alright so now I have a question for everybody" and they were all standing there looking at her and she said, "since the wedding and reception are tomorrow morning what are we going to do about Christmas dinner, should we just push it forward for a while orrrrrr"?, Derek looked at Penelope and said, "I think we should still have it on Christmas Day ma, sure we will be on our honeymoon but we can leave the hotel for a few hours to come spend some time with our wonderful family".
Fran said, "are you sure son"?, Derek and Penelope in unison said, "positive", Fran then wrapped her arms around the happy couple and said, "how does that sound to everybody"? and everybody nodded their heads yes and said, "yessssssss" causing Fran to smile as she looked around the room at her ever growing family.
After going over the ceremony with the minister everybody went their separate ways for the night and it had been decided that the bride would get ready at the church so JJ and Emily told Penelope they would pick her up at 7 so they could start getting her ready and still have time to get themselves dressed and ready too and the men had decided that they would dress the boys and help make sure that Derek was ready and at the church for the ceremony.
At the end of the night Penelope sighed happily as she laid in the arms of the man she loved, Derek kissed the side of her neck and said, "this time tomorrow night you'll be Mrs. Derek Morgan, are you ready for that"?, she said, "ohhhh I've been ready for years hotstuff, yearsssssss" causing him to grin as he cuddled closer.
They closed their eyes and soon fell asleep, they knew that the next two days were going to be hectic but they were looking forward to them both because at the end of them they would be husband and wife and they would be celebrating Christmas with the most amazing people that either of them had ever known.
As the happy couple fell asleep they couldn't wait to see just what their future held in store but they knew that whatever it was they would face it together, together as a couple and as a family, one big happy family.
