Thanksgiving With The Morgan's-Ch 35
Everybody in the church turned around to look at the back when the music started, they watched as first Charlotte then Emily and then finally JJ made their way up the rose petal path that led to the front of the church. When the three brides maids were in their places the music changed to the Wedding March and everybody stood up to watch as Dave and Penelope appeared at the double doors.
Derek felt his breath catch as he saw here standing there, she was amazingly beautiful, it was like he couldn't take his eyes off of her as she started making her way up the aisle toward him. Fran watched as her future daughter-in-law got closer and closer to the front of the church as she watched she knew that she too would soon be getting married to the second amazing man that had managed to steal her heart David Rossi.
When they got to the front of the church Dave took Penelope's hand and put it in Derek's, he then kissed her on the cheek and said, "you look so beautiful kitten", she smiled and watched as he walked over and stood beside Fran before she turned to face Derek and then they turned to face the front and the minister so the ceremony could start.
As the minister looked out over the crowd in the church house he smiled and said, "it is always a joyous time when I can join two loving hearts in the bonds of matrimony and with today being Christmas Eve it's an especially happy time for me". Everybody listened as he said, "I've known this young man standing here in front of me since the day he was born and might I say that he has grown into an amazing man".
Derek gently squeezed Penelope's hand as the minister asked, "who gives this woman to this man in matrimony"?, Dave stood up and said, "her team and I do" and then sat back down beside Fran. After he said a short prayer he looked at Reid and JJ and asked for the rings, they handed them to him and smiled as he looked at the happy but nervous couple standing in front of him.
The minister then said, "I understand that you two have written your own vows"?, Derek and Penelope both nodded their heads in agreement and in unison said, "we have". He then handed Derek Penelope's ring and said, "put this ring onto her finger and then recite your vows to her", Derek took a deep breath as he took the ring from the minister and held it in his hand.
He looked at Penelope as he slid the ring onto her finger, he then said, "Penelope, baby girl, we've known each other for quite a while, you are my best friend, my confidant, the other part of my heart, my lover and today you become my wife and the woman that I'm going to spend the rest of my life with".
Penelope felt tears threatening to slid down her cheeks as he said, "I can't wait to spend my life loving you and being loved by you baby girl and I can promise you here today in front of our family and friends that I will love, honor, cherish and protect you for as long as I live, I love you baby girl, always have and always will".
The minister then looked at Penelope and said, "Penelope, take this ring and put it onto Derek's finger and then recite your vows to him", she nervously took the ring into her hand and slid it onto his finger. She took a deep breath as she tried to calm down, she then smiled lovingly as she looked into his eyes and readied to speak.
She said, "Derek, hotstuff, you are an amazing man, you are my best friend, my guiding light in the darkness, you are my soulmate and today, today you become my husband, the man I'm going to spend the rest of my life with". Derek smiled at her as she said, "I vow here in front of our family and friends that I will love you, honor you, cherish you and always be there for you as long as we both shall live, I love you Derek Michael Morgan, I love you with my whole heart".
Everybody in the room listened as the minister said, "if their is anyone that can show just cause why these two can't be lawfully joined, let them speak now or forever hold their peace". After a few seconds he said, "by the powers vested in me by this state, I now pronounce you husband and wife", he then looked at Derek and said, "Derek, you may kiss your bride".
Derek smiled as he leaned in and gently pressed his lips against hers, when they pulled apart the minister said, "it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Derek Morgan". The room was filled with the shouts of congratulations and the sounds of hands clapping as the bride and groom interlocked arms and made their way back up the aisle to be closely followed by the wedding party and then the rest of their family and friends as they headed back to Frans place for the reception for the newlyweds.
