I was only given inspiration and strength to write thanks to coffee and a cozy atmosphere this morning. I'm so glad its finally fall.

What in one world would lead to a childhood of bullying and tears, instead in this world the visit to the doctor would serve as one of the many catalysts in his life. And in this world without the expectations towards quirkless being aimed at him Inko when asked if he could be a hero was there to support him as much as she could. She was scared for her child yes, but she was also proud of his drive to help people even if he was still just a child.

Upon returning to school Izuku was quickly surrounded by his fellow students and even his teachers watched with awe in their eyes. The children were amazed by the lightning flashing all over his body when he used the quirk while the teachers were smart enough to realize how powerful his quirk would grow in time.

Due to the positive reinforcement from his peers and support from his mother, in this world Izuku did not draw into himself. Instead, he pushed himself to do his best in all things, whether that be helping his mother with chores, helping and making friends with his peers, or even in academics. All this combined with his determination and powerful quirk left him along with Bakugo as the apple of their teachers' eyes. They competed for first in class with Izuku holding first in the sciences, history, and grammar, while Bakugo held first in math, gym, and surprisingly music (he was a very angry but talented violinist).

Initially Bakugo was livid that Izuku was being viewed as strong as him, as a result he started acting out even more towards those he considered extras. Izuku of course refused to allow this, ending up with them butting heads often and coming to blows when Bakugo tried bullying anyone. While Bakugo had developed his quirk first Izuku quickly caught up to him and was able to fight on even ground whenever they squabbled. With his current level of control, he was only able to use his powers to create waves of force from his hands and feet, but he was quite able to cancel or avoid most of Bakugo's explosions and land his own hits now and then. While they should have done something, the teachers viewed it as practice for the boys' futures as heroes, so they turned a blind eye both to Bakugo's bullying and Izuku's fighting him whenever he tried. As long as no one truly got hurt they figured it would work out for the best for their school's image in time, after all, everyone wants to claim a hero came from their academy.

Through all their fights and squabbles Izuku still continued to hope for the best in Bakugo and considered him a friend. Due to their competition in all things Bakugo over time found it harder to view Izuku as an "extra" and more as a rival. By the time they turned twelve Bakugo had been worn down by Izuku's way of thinking and constant presence. This led to a more levelheaded Katsuki then what might have been with no one to curtail his arrogance and anger issues. While he was still arrogant and willing to fight, he now typically targeted bullies (rather than being one himself) or other people he considered breaking his own set of acceptable morals. And while they wouldn't meet the typical definition of friends, he and Izuku shared a mutual respect and understanding built over their time together.

Over the years Izuku has not grown less focused on his dreams, rather if anything he's become even more laser focused on being a hero. Not only did he continue to maintain his academic standing, but he also started gymnastics at seven and martial arts (only when he turned 8 on his mothers insistence.) and he practiced hard with his quirk in his own room, slowly discovering ways he could use his power. When he turned 11 he had started helping his community by volunteering at a few local institutions and organizations, mainly the local park and library where he was adored by the librarians for his big smile while he eagerly asked how he could be helpful.

Helping locally had been a dream of his since he saw an interview of All Might back when he was 8. In the interview All Might had bemoaned how some seemed to view heroism as only defeating villains or a popularity contest. The spirit of true heroism he claimed sprung from a sense of selflessness and a care and desire to protect those around you. While it was true his main job was defeating villains due to his powerset, he emphasized that a hero's job can range from that to giving a kind word to someone in need or rescuing someone's cat from a tree.

Seeing this drove Izuku to even greater heights of passion for heroics, his mother having to place restrictions upon him to prevent him from volunteering too young or trying to take on things he wasn't ready for. She was of course still proud to see him helping those around him in whatever way he could, be it helping a classmate with homework, making a dinner for a sick neighbor, or when he was old enough helping at local community centers and programs. With it he rushed forward a eager smile upon his face and an endless optimism for what was possible.

Yes indeed, life was pretty good for Izuku Midoriya. He had a loving mother, a powerful quirk, and his whole life in front of him. This is all of course, until the next catalyst would appear in his life, and in time give and take everything from him.

It was a perfectly normal day for Izuku when it happened. He had attended school as usual, it had been a good day filled with new things to learn and laughter with friends. He had gymnastics later that evening, but first he was on his way home to change out of his uniform and get a start on his homework before dinner and training.

Izuku was about halfway home when a gnawing feeling of dread started to appear in his gut, despite not knowing what was wrong exactly he could tell for certain that something was indeed very wrong. As he got closer to home the sense of dread grew and by the time, he smelled smoke he was tense and immediately sped off towards home as that's where he could faintly make out smoke. While fast for a boy of his age it wasn't enough, so bits of emerald lightning began to spark to life around his lower legs and feet. With a slight pause to plant his feet and bend his legs he launched off forward his speed probably doubled by the force blasts coming out his feet with every push off. He usually wouldn't break quirk usage laws even if they were more lenient with those his age, but dire times called for dire action.

As he shot around the corner turning down his street his eyes widened in shock and fear. His apartment and indeed his whole side of the apartment complex was absolutely enveloped in a raging inferno resembling nothing less then Dante's inferno. In other words, the apartment building had been caught in the crossfire of Endeavor's Hell Fire as he attempted to put down a villain with no care for the world around him. Several other hero's had arrived on the scene with some going to try to help Endeavor while the others tried to put out the now more dangerous threat of the apartment fire.

While Izuku had been looking around and processing all this his legs hadn't stopped moving as he originally planned but instead he kept speeding forward until his eyes landed upon the flaming area where his apartment would be in the building and with a sudden snap and smell of ozone Izuku disappeared without anyone noticing the small boy appear to pop out of existence.

A cliff hanger? Very rude I know, but I got caught up in inspiration to write this and it all just came out on its own. This isn't my best chapter or my longest so I apologize. I'll probably post another chapter soon I think as I have a lot of inspo towards this story however I want to release a chapter for one of my other two first.
