GRYD Season 3 Chapter 1: Bearings

Glyph awoke.

Gasping for air he quickly looked around to try and figure out what was going on, where he was, and every other question that was going through his mind. His vision was blurry, and he closed his eyes to try and focus.

The last thing he recalled was the attack by Primrose. The images of the fight caused him pain and he grabbed his head to try and make it stop. Eventually he remembered the darkness pouring out of her after he killed her, and how it consumed them all.

With at least some understanding, Glyph slowly opened his eyes and focused on getting his vision unblurred. When it finally came into focus he found himself in a cage, one that was moving on sandy terrain.

He didn't know how this was possible, there were no deserts near Vale. Something was wrong, very wrong.

"Hey, partner, glad you're awake," came a voice.

He turned and next to him in another cage was Diana. She laid on her side, her arm propping up her head and she gave a small wave to him.

Glyph was relieved at seeing her, he smiled and said, "Diana! Thanks goodness, stay there, I'll-"

"Don't try and use your Semblance to break those bars, partner," Diana interjected, speaking loudly for some reason. "I've been told by our 'saviors' that they'll withstand any attack."

She motioned with her head to the front of the cage and Glyph saw cloaked figures pulling the cage carts. At first he thought they were Heralds, but the outfits weren't right. They were brighter, and didn't bear any markings.

"What is going on, Diana?" Glyph asked, more confused than ever.

"I was hoping to ask you that when I woke up, but you were fast asleep, or unconscious, however you want to define what happened to us after Primrose bit it. Oh, and before you ask, I don't know where the others are. When I woke up it was only you and me here."

Just realizing he hadn't seen the others, Glyph quickly spun around and even went to the edges of the cage to see if there were anymore cages in front of or behind them. There wasn't. He laid against the bars and exhaled angrily. Another thought came to him and he pulled out his phone, only to see that something was very wrong with it.

"Yeah...our phones are dead. Whatever that darkness was, it busted the electronics pretty good. I can't even get mine to turn on."

"Do you have ANY good news?"

"Well, not really. Our weapons were taken by our guests in case you were curious. But hey, thanks to these cages we're not roasting in the Vacuo sun," she joked.

"VACUO?! We're in Vacuo?" asked Glyph astonished at the revelation.

"Do you know any other place with deserts like this?"

Glyph was even more stunned into silence than before. It's true that Vale and Vacuo were technically close together as they resided in the same continent, but nothing known could've taken him and Diana from Beacon Academy to the deserts of Vacuo. But as he thought about it, the fused Grimm form of Primrose Madonna was ANYTHING but known in the realm of Remnant. So anything technically was possible with her involved.

"Still with me, partner?" wondered Diana as she looked at Glyph.

"Yeah," he replied, voice returning to its usual pitch and style. "Just processing."

"You and me both. You didn't see it because you were KO'd but I was freaking out when I woke up. I should've known you would've taken it better than me."

"Freaking out doesn't get us anywhere. But don't sell yourself short, your warning about my 'Semblance' was well handled."

He gave a knowing look to her to relay that he understood what she was doing. She gave a mischievous raising of the eyebrows in reply. Glyph knew that if Diana wasn't there he would've instinctively teleported her and him out of the cage no matter the situation. Leaving them alone and lost in the vastness of the desert.

Vacuo was legendary for how its nation went from fertile to barren over the course of a few centuries. Its deserts shift in size and shape regularly so people like them would easily get lost and could die from the heat and lack of resources. Especially since Glyph's teleport wouldn't get them to safety due to range issues and needing to see or know where they were going.

Despite the fact that they were captured, more than likely, they were headed somewhere with resources of a kind. As well as talk to someone who might have information on what was going on, and what needed to happen next.

Glyph relaxed as he processed the remaining questions in his mind. He was careful not to let his guard down too much, but he knew that there was nothing he could do right now, so being on edge would be just as bad as panicking.

"Glyph?" called out Diana, now sitting upright with a very serious look on her face. "Do you think the others are alright?"

"I certainly hope so," he answered.

"Are you worried about Leilani?"

"I'm worried about all of them. If we landed here...who knows where they landed? But we can't think about that. We focus on the here and now, ok?"

"Ok."

With a nod to the other in support, they rested against the cages and waited for their "ride" to stop. An hour or so later, they heard talk from the various people pulling them. Glyph was able to look just enough outside the cage to see something. It was a camp, one camped around something he couldn't see. In the camp were a variety of light-clothed tents, no doubt to reflect the heat of the desert. He could also see more cloaked people, including some standing guard and coming towards the caravan that he and Diana were in.

Glyph gave a motion that things were about to pick up and she got ready for whatever came their way. Eventually, the cages stopped, the guards came to the back end and opened them up.

One of the guards pointed to Glyph with a gun, "You, out, now!"

He put his hands up to show he was no threat and then walked out of the cage. The guard nudged him in the back to get him walking. As they approached the camp area many figures from the tents and other spots gazed upon Glyph and Diana. Their gazes pierced through the darkness of their cloaked heads, showing them without telling them that they were the outsiders here.

They were guided deeper into the camp, until they reached a bigger tent, one that had much more flair than the others. As they entered, a man in a large throne-like chair watched the two. He had eyes that resembled Yasmine's in their cat-like appearance, yet had their own special fractals that made him seem more intimidating. His hair was dark, and his skin was very tan. The man was lean, yet muscular, and he had a smirk on his face that led Glyph to believe he was amused by their presence.

Diana looked to the side of the man and saw a very proper looking green-haired girl next to him. She was dressed in a way that made her exude authority, yet also show that she wasn't the one in charge. What unnerved Diana though was the way this girl was looking at them both. She didn't blink, not even after a long time. Almost as if she refused to take her eyes off of them.

Once they were close enough the man raised his hand to stop them all. Then waved the guards out of the room. They did so after bowing to him.

After they left, the man stood and examined the two, amusement not gone from his face. He started to walk in circles around them.

"So let me tell you the story of my day," the man said in a deep voice. "I was eating a small meal with my men and going over reports of where we might have to move next and one of my crew signals in. 'We found something!' they told me. That's not too odd given the shifting of the sands. But then they said, 'it's kids, and they just...appeared in darkness."

Glyph and Diana shot a quick glance at the other before returning their eyes forward when the man came back around.

"Recall that this was the morning, so darkness was an impossibility, but the man who told me this wouldn't lie to me...so thus, we picked you up, and brought you here. I'm glad to see you both are awake. But the question remains... What are you two doing turning up in the middle of a Vacuo desert?"

Again, Glyph and Diana shot each other a quick glance. Glyph took the initiative to start the conversation, "We didn't intend to be here."

The man looked at the green-haired girl, who nodded her head in a very small way, as if only to alert him to what she was doing.

Curious, he looked back at Glyph, "How did you get here?"

"We don't know."

The girl nodded to the man again at the statement, which made him even more curious, "So you didn't mean to be here, yet you somehow got here, in a dark cloud of sorts according to my men...and you don't know how this all happened?"

"Yeah, pretty much," piped up Diana.

The man looked at the two then sat back down in his throne and tried to understand the situation himself. As he looked closely at Glyph though, a flash of recognition went across his face, "Do I know you?"

"We've never met," answered Glyph.

The man turned to the girl and she nodded again, "Ok, but I do recognize you from somewhere. Where did you go to school?"

"Haven," bluffed Diana, unsure of how the man knew Glyph.

The girl shook her head at this, which got the man to smirk, "You're not from Haven. It would've been easier to say Shade but you knew that would've been easily debunked because of how unprepared for our terrain you were. Especially you, young lady. You would've been roasted alive with that much exposed skin."

"At least I would be as red as my hair."

"Indeed! Which leads me to believe that you're either from Atlas or Vale. Wait...Vale...Vale! That's it!"

The man went to a small table and picked up a small tablet. After pressing some buttons he brought up a "Missing" poster, it had the members of GRYD and MEAL on it.

After seeing their shocked reactions to the poster the man laughed, "I knew I recognized you. You're the students that went missing from Vale last week."

"Last week?" repeated Glyph.

"We've...we've been gone a week?" asked Diana, fearful.

"You...didn't know that?" wondered the man, curiosity spiking again.

"No," replied Glyph.

The man turned, and once again, the girl nodded, "Alright, something is very wrong here, and I'm pretty sure it's you two. You've been gone for a week, no one knows why, and suddenly you appear in the deserts of Vacuo cloaked in some kind of darkness and you have no idea what's going on?"

"Yes."

"Wow...kids these days. How about this? You tell me what you DO know...and we'll go from there?"

"Uh, how about you tell us who YOU are?" spat back Diana, personality back in full. "Your guards locked us up and led us here at gunpoint! Not cool!"

"We had no idea who you were, it was a safety precaution. We see weird things in Vacuo, but two kids appearing out of thin air...er, darkness? That's beyond what's typical here. As for my name, I am Tannarn, and this lady next to me is Cyana, my aide."

"Lie detector," corrected Glyph.

This statement caught both Tannarn and Cyana off guard.

"Well played. Most don't notice that on the first conversation."

"You kept looking at her."

"I guess in this case I might have tipped my hand a bit, but your story was so fantastical I had no choice. You are a bright young man, though."

"Thanks," Glyph said simply.

"Does he always talk like that?" Tannarn asked Diana.

She shrugged, "You get used to it."

At this, Glyph looked to Cyana, and for the first time she smirked as she shook her head.

Diana was not happy with that, "Oh come on, girl! That's not nice."

"Tell the truth then," teased Glyph.

"Oh shut up, partner."

"Tension! I love it," said Tannarn excited. "But that'll have to wait. So, now that I've given you our names, give us yours and tell us your story. We'll go from there."

Glyph and Diana looked at one another, then Glyph nodded and motioned for her to tell the story. She started by saying who they were, how long they had been at Beacon and more. Then led into the story of the fight with Primrose and how her death led them to being here.

Throughout certain parts of the story, Tannarn looked to Cyana, who nodded at every part of the tale Diana told. Which made him more and more wide-eyed and in awe. By the time she was done, he was truly at a loss for words.

"That's...a lot..." he managed to get out.

"Yeah, tell us about it," lamented Diana.

"A human/Grimm hybrid. I mean... some stories always said it was possible but..."

"Stories?" questioned Glyph

"Oh yeah, the beings of Remnant might fear Grimm for one reason or another, but many are equally as fascinated with them in the overall. Depending on your belief of the origin of our world...some say we are the opposites created by two gods. And opposites...attract."

"In more ways than one," scoffed Diana.

Tannarn nodded, "Exactly, young lady. But something on the level of this Primrose person? That...is beyond the stories, that's something new. And if we're lucky...something that won't happen again. Because that's the last thing we need in this land, a new threat."

"Our thoughts exactly, now can you help us out? Our phones are damaged and we need to get back to Vale and Beacon to let everyone know we're alright."

"Sadly, only one of those things is possible at present."

"No signal?" guessed Glyph with a knowing expression.

"Yeah, you're REALLY far out in the desert, and while we do have a communications tower, the desert winds and sands can block it rather easily the farther away from the tower you are. The main tower is located by Shade Academy, which would take some time to get you there. And that's IF I decide to help you."

"If?"

An odd grin came across the face of Tannarn, "We have an unspoken rule here in Vacuo, especially among the nomad tribes that you currently find yourself in. 'If you can survive here, then you are welcome.'"

"We survived a freaking Grimm hybrid!" exclaimed Diana in disbelief at the turn in the situation.

"Yes, on your home turf, and with superior numbers. You're not in your home, you're with us. Here, you've proved nothing but that you have fortunate timing in regards to us finding you before you died."

"I can't believe this..."

"Believe it, young lady. Now, IF you pass a test for us...we'll guide you to an area where you can get passage to Vale. Fail...and, well..."

"We're not welcome," finished Glyph grimly.

"Correct. When it comes to the nomadic tribes, you have to prove your worth, else you're dead weight and that's no good here. So, here's what you need to do."

Tannarn clapped his hands and some guards entered the room, "These men will escort you to a supply area where you'll get four canisters that you need to fill up with water."

Diana could already see the problems before she asked, "...and the water is...where?"

"In a small oasis about two miles from here. You go there, get the water, come back. You do that, we help, because you helped us and survived what we have to survive."

"Well if that's all, then-"

Glyph put a hand in front of her face to get her to stop, he knew there was more to this, "Grimm?"

A familiar smirk came upon Tannarn, "Oh yes, there will be Grimm. Both in the sands, and near the oasis. They know that we need it...so they tend to hover there. If you survive, we help. If you don't? Well, then there's no need to help, because you wouldn't survive the trip back. Any questions?"

"No, let's go, Diana."

Glyph turned and looked at the guards, who took his glare seriously and led the two out. Once out of the tent, Cyana looked upon her leader, "Sir, do you think they'll survive?"

"Yes," he replied.

"You're lying."

"...yes."

Glyph and Diana proceeded to the supply tent where they were indeed presented with four canisters to fill up. They were light, but big in size. No doubt part of the challenge in trying to survive while lugging these four canisters full of water around.

One of the guards pointed in the direction behind the tent, "The oasis is about two miles that way. It's honestly a straight shot, we position our camp to ensure that. Use this tent as a reference point and you should be fine."

"Thank you," said Glyph with a small bow of his head. "Our weapons?"

The two guards looked at one another and reluctantly nodded. One of them quickly went into the tent and pulled out Glyph's escrima and Diana's whip, which she quickly grabbed and wrapped around her arm.

"Oh, mommy missed you," she said as she caressed her arm.

"That's creepy."

"Oh, shut up, partner."

"If you two are done?" interjected the guard. "The oasis awaits. Good luck, you'll need it."

They motioned for the two to start moving and so Glyph and Diana each picked up two canisters and headed out into the desert itself.

As they started to trudge through the sands, Diana repeatedly looked back to see if the guards were gazing at them. When they moved away from the tent she exhaled happily.

"Finally, now will you teleport us out of here and to that oasis, partner?" she asked Glyph.

"No," he replied bluntly.

"Excuse me?"

"Tannarn's not an idiot, he'll know if we use a trick to get there faster."

"Your point? He never said we couldn't use a Semblance, he never even asked what ours were! This isn't like the dumb scavenger hunt, there are no rules to break!"

"Grimm."

"What?"

"Tannarn said there would be Grimm, but he didn't say what kind. This is a test, Diana. There's something waiting at that oasis, and I need to be at full power to deal with it. So no teleporting there. On the way back? Maybe."

With that, he kept walking forward through the sand. Diana glared a hole through him before eventually groaning and following, "There are days I wonder why I have feelings for you..."

Willingly or not, they proceeded through the sands. Despite it technically being only a short trip, the sun was high in the sky and thus the heat was intense. Glyph did his best to grin and bear it, but when he looked at Diana he could tell that she was cooking in the sun more than he despite her having less clothes on.

Seeing her skin starting to sizzle he took off his overcoat and draped it over her shoulders to that it covered them and most of her arms.

"There," he said when he was done. "It won't keep you cool, but at least you won't get burnt."

"Thanks, partner," Diana said with a gracious smile.

Glyph smiled back and continued on with his containers. All the while, Diana's smile morphed into a familiar teasing smile, "Yep, now I remember why I have feelings for you."

Time ticked on, but eventually, an oasis-like structure appeared before them. To be sure their minds weren't playing tricks on them, Glyph teleported there and back and confirmed it was real.

Once he did they sped up and did their best to reach it in good time. The oasis itself was a bit more robust than they expected. While it did have trees, it also had a certain measure of ruins around it. As Glyph looked around he realized there must have been a settlement here at one time but they got driven away. But by what, or who, was unclear to him.

Diana meanwhile didn't care about any of that. She raced right to the water and not only splashed some of it on her skin, but also drank some of it after being in the heat for a while.

"Oh, this is heaven," she said as she cooled off. "I'd take a wash in this...if you weren't here that is, partner."

"Glad I'm here then," Glyph said nonchalantly.

"You can't let me have anything easily, can you?"

"No."

"Fine, let's fill this up and then...oh, animals are coming."

Glyph turned and realize Diana was pointing at something. In the distance, and coming towards them were silhouettes that could only be defined as "animal-like."

Diana wasn't concerned about this as she continued to gaze at them, "This must be their watering hole."

As he continued to gaze at the set of three silhouettes, he realized that something was wrong. He dropped his canisters, pulled out his escrima and readied them for battle, "Diana, those aren't animals."

She quickly gazed at him, saw he was ready for battle and realized what was coming, "Oh crap."

Diana pulled out her whip and readied herself as well.

They stood steadfast, and soon the light of the sun revealed what was coming. A set of three Grimm rushed toward them with surprising speed. They resembled camels, but the humps on their backs had heavy armor plating, and their coloring was a very familiar black and red.

"Dromedons," growled Glyph.

"Oh, of course, the camel Grimm in a desert, how poetic. Well at least they can't-"

Before she could finish, the Dromedons roared, and from their mouth shot a vat of liquid. Glyph and Diana dodged just in time, but not before some of it got on the end of Diana's dress. She watched as the liquid started to eat up part of her dress. She panicked and poured water on it, which caused it to stop.

"Great! They can spit acid. But that's as much as you get, you pervy Grimm! I'm not walking through this desert without clothes on!"

She roared herself and sent out bolts of Dust from her whip, causing the Dromedons to split up. Glyph capitalized on this to go and teleport to the Grimm that was now alone, and using the impact side of his weapon slammed into the Grimm's legs, causing it to fall.

With it now prone, Glyph formed his shotgun and blasted the Dromedon multiple times in the head until it dissolved.

Meanwhile, Diana used her whip to divide and conquer. Keeping the Grimm at bay while also making sure they couldn't line up a shot to fire more acid at them.

"Ladies, let's get them!" she called out and made a motion to both Grimm.

Her projections rushed out of her, and not unlike the fight with Primrose, held the Grimm down. She dashed in and wrapped her whip around the neck of one of them and unleashed a barrage of bolts, killing it. She then lashed in the other direction and hit the other Dromedon with the bolts. It didn't die though, and glared at her.

It opened its mouth to fire another vat of acid when a bigger bolt literally plugged the hole and then detonated, killing the Grimm.

Diana turned to see Glyph with a relieved look on his face. He put away his gun and grunted, "Real or Grimm, the rule still applies."

"What rule?" asked Diana confused.

"Camels spit."

"Classy, partner. Now can we PLEASE fill up the water jars and get out of here? I'm roasting, my dress is ruined, and we were clearly setup to fail."

Her words echoed throughout his mind. He also recalled what he had told Diana earlier about Tannarn, that he wasn't an idiot. Realizing the truth, he pulled back out his escrima. Which worried Diana greatly.

"Glyph..."

"We were setup to fail..."

"But...?"

"But not by the Dromedon, something bigger."

As in on cue, the ground shook around them. A tremor with no clear epicenter. The two looked around for any sign of what was coming, but couldn't get any clear signal.

Then, from the sand, a massive black, red, and white creature appeared before them.

Glyph grimaced harder than he had in a while, "Blind Worm."

"Aren't those these only supposed to be about 6 feet long?" sputtered out Diana, in awe and terror of the sight before her.

"Clearly they grow bigger than that."

The Blind Worm towered over them and then let out an ear-piercing roar that nearly caused Glyph and Diana to topple over. To add insult to injury, it reared back and spat acid at them.

They were able to dodge, but Diana was livid, "Another acid-spitting creature, I HATE THIS PLACE!"

"Focus, Diana! Aim for the mouth! That's the weak point!"

"On it!"

Now focused, the two went at it and tried to damage the Blind Worm. The problem though, was that the worm was not only large, but nimble. Its flexible body moved around as it attacked them. What's more, when the head they focused on dove under the sand, its other half popped up and revealed another head capable of spitting acid at them.

Diana needless to say was not happy about this, "I hate this desert!"

Not giving up, Glyph knew that only impact shots would work here so he went and formed his shotgun and fired multiple Dust-powered blasts at the Grimm. It did some damage, but the armored bone plates that covered the worm mitigated any damage. And every time he tried to get closer to the head it either moved out of the way or fired acid as he got close. He knew his Aura wouldn't be able to take much of a hit from that if he got too close.

After minutes of fighting the worm, both Glyph and Diana were experiencing the effects of the battle. The heat continued to wear on them and the relentless attacks from the Blind Worm meant that forming a plan would be difficult at best.

Glyph took a chance during an opening and pulled Diana away for a quick respite.

"Partner, we need to end this, quick."

Glyph panted heavily and nodded, "I know."

"I mean, I can use my girls to try and pin it down, but it'll either overpower them or just flex and move away. And if we damage one end, the other will pop up!"

"Yeah...yeah...oh, that could work."

"What, what could work, partner?" wondered Diana.

Glyph reached behind him to a satchel he wore and pulled out a set of black and purple vials, "Take a few."

"Is that...Gravity Dust?"

"Yep. When I give you the signal, shoot it at the exposed head. It'll lock it in place and I'll blast it to the ground. The other head will pop up, and I'll trap it and knock it down as well. With both heads exposed, we unload with everything we got. Ok?"

Diana was in awe of the plan but managed to contain how impressed she was, "I'll follow your lead, always."

This got Glyph to smile, "Good to know. Now get into position."

Diana raced ahead and got the attention of the Blind Worm. She cracked her whip to make sure it looked at her, "Hey, ugly! You think that we're done yet? Not even close."

The Grimm roared and again shot acid at her, but she rolled out of the way. When she looked up, Glyph was up above the Blind Worm and nodded to her to go.

"Chew on this!"

She fired the Gravity Dust and it indeed hit the worm square in its head. A field covered the head and held it in place. Glyph loaded up and fired bolts at the Grimm, causing it to crash to the ground. As planned, when one head hit the ground, the other head popped up. Glyph teleported to a good spot and shot his own Gravity Dust as it. Trapping it in place and then once again shooting it to the ground.

Both ends now exposed, Glyph and Diana fired round after round at the Grimm and didn't let up until the Grimm started to crack, and then explode in the middle once their attacks finally met. With its core gone, the Blind Worm dissolved, leaving them alone at last.

With the fight finally done they collapsed to their knees and did their best to catch their breath. Slowly, they went to the other to check on them, and both Glyph and Diana's exhaustion was clear on their face.

"Partner?" said Diana.

"Yeah?" Glyph answered back.

"I really hate this desert."

They looked at one another, and then broke out into laughter, something neither expected to do when they went on this mission. With their laughing fit done, they got up, went to the canisters, filled them with water, and made to leave.

But before Diana could, Glyph grabbed her shoulder and smirked, "I think I got enough in me to teleport. Hold on."

With a smirk of her own, the two teleported out of sight.

Minutes later, in the tent of Tannan and Cyana, Glyph and Diana suddenly appeared before them, causing the two to jump.

Diana was not smiling or laughing this time as she dropped the canisters of water and said, "There's your dang water! We survived, we're welcome here, now help us get home!"

Glyph dropped his canisters as well and motioned to Diana, "What she said."

Tannarn looked at the two very curiously, went to the canisters and opened them up to ensure that there was indeed water within them. Which made him all the more curious as he looked at the two and saw their battle scars, "The Blind Worm?"

"Dead. We killed it."

Tannarn turned to Cyana, who though clearly in shock, nodded her head, which made him all the more impressed, "Well well, you two are full of surprises."

"Stuff it! You tried to have us killed!" shouted Diana.

"Calm down, young lady. If I wanted you dead, I would've had my men kill you when they found you, or, we would've just left you in the desert."

"Then why send us to fight that thing without warning?" questioned Glyph, not amused by his answer.

"Because we tried to deal with it, and failed."

"So YOU couldn't survive here..."

Tannarn flared up and grabbed Glyph by the throat and raised him up. Diana tried to stop him but Cyana pointed a small pistol at her head and shook her own to warn her not to try it.

When Tannarn did this action, his body shifted to that of a wolf, complete with snout, "Do not insult me, boy! I have survived many things in this godforsaken desert! And yes, I did fight that worm, and I was one of the few who made it back alive. I had no intention of sending my people to slaughter once more."

He threw Glyph to the floor and reverted back to his human form. With a deep breath and a regaining of his composure he looked at the two with clear intent.

"Hearing your exploits with this Primrose person made me realize you two might be able to solve our problem. We're nomads, few of us are actually Huntsman or Huntresses, so our combat experience is usually limited to smaller Grimm. That Blind Worm you fought...and killed...was very old. One of the last of its kind. You did our people a service by saving it. So we will return the favor and do you a service by helping you get to Vale."

Tannarn clapped and a familiar set of guards appeared.

"But it won't be today. You're tired, no doubt hungry and thirsty and still need to grasp the...unique situation you're in. You'll be given your own tent. We'll bring you food and drink soon enough. Then, in the morning, we'll give you a ride to a location where you can get to Vale on foot. The rest will be up to you."

Glyph gave a small laugh, "We're used to that."

Diana grunted in acknowledgment, "Far too used to it."

The guards motioned outside and the two left. They were guided to a small tent that had two cots and some small amenities to make them feel "at home".

Without a word to the other, both Glyph and Diana relaxed on the cots and just let the relative quiet of all sink in. They had been going virtually non-stop since they both woke up. Even when they were trapped in the cages they were fearing what might await them. But now, in the quiet, in the peaceful surroundings they were in, they could process it all, and it was a lot to process.

They still had no idea what was happening in the overall sense. How Primrose did what she did. How she turned into a hybrid Grimm, and what else awaited them. But more than anything, one question weighed on their minds.

"Glyph?" called out Diana.

He turned his head an looked at her.

"We're going to go and find them, right?"

He managed a small smile, "Whatever it takes, we'll find them. We'll get our team back, our friends back, and we'll get home."

Glyph extended his hand, and Diana happily took it, and the friends held hands in support of one another as they tried to push out their fears and just try to rest for this briefest of moments.
