Caitlin hissed in pain as her dear mother poked her with a butterfly needle for the umpteenth time. As quickly as the needle went in, it was out and Carla was unwrapping the tourniquet.

"That was the last one, for today." Carla said, sighing as she turned around to put the vacutainer away and sanitize the lab table.

"Thank GOD. I don't think our veins could take much more." Frost complained from inside her brain.

"She only stuck us three times." Caitlin pointed out. Carla just rolled her eyes playfully, even though Frost couldn't see.

"You tell her I'll make it up to her with a Killer Frost frappuccino." Carla amended as she dumped her wipes and came back around to sit with her daughter...daughters.

"Deal." Frost conceded. Caitlin chuckled as she let her mother know that Frost forgave her. Carla crossed her legs as she dropped her scientist facade, and just let herself be a mom...her tests were done, the lab was clean, and the results could wait until tonight to be analyzed. She sensed her daughter needed her right now.

"Alright, out with it. What's that mopey look for?" Carla asked Caitlin, who just sat looking downcast.

Caitlin looked up at her, then just shook her head. "Nothing, nothing. Really, I'm fine. Guess I'm just running on fumes. Hey, let's get those frappuccinos before they close." she said dismissively, grabbing her purse from where it sat beside her stool.

Carla wasn't letting her go that easy. She took hold of Caitlin's arm, and dragged her back down to sit again. "Nice try, spill it." Carla said.

Caitlin sighed. "Hey, Frost. Can you come out? Mom and I need to have a chat, and I really need this to be a mother daughter talk." she requested of her sister. She could hear her chuckle.

"If this is about who I think it's about, no problem." Frost agreed. They separated (1), but Caitlin stopped her from leaving. "Actually, you know what? I'm good with you staying. You are a daughter, after all." she said, smiling nervously. Frost smiled and pulled up a chair and sat on it backwards.

"I don't know, I guess…" Caitlin paused, trying to find the best way to say what she wanted to say, "it was hard to say goodbye to everyone. Harder than I thought, actually." she finished.

Frost raised a hand. "I may have not been with you the whole day, but I know you did not say goodbye to everyone." she pointed out. (2)

Caitlin tried to shut her up with a look, to no avail. "In fact, the only one you actually said goodbye to…" Frost slowly realized, "was Barry."

Caitlin felt like she could melt into ash right there. "I-I..I have zero idea what you're talking about." she stammered, embarrassed.

Frost's smirk screamed, "I don't believe you for one second, but go ahead." Carla just smiled. Caitlin continued. "Well yeah, I'll miss Barry. I mean..I've helped him since he came to S.T.A.R Labs." (3) she reminisced. "I just…miss everyone." she said.

Carla spoke up. "But you'll miss Barry a tiny bit extra." she concluded, knowingly. Caitlin looked at her mother, confused. "Please, I may have missed a bunch of stuff in your life, but I know enough to know when someone has a crush." Carla said, waving a hand.

Caitlin sat shell-shocked, then covered her ears in shock and embarrassment. "Is it that obvious?" she asked her family. (4)

Frost chuckled, nodding. Carla just smiled, nodding.

Caitlin groaned. "When did you find out?' she asked. "I'm a part of you, so I knew all along, but Thanksgiving gave it away." Frost said, snickering. "Recently." Carla said, patting her knee.

Caitlin exhaled. "Well, I know now that my poker face needs work." she chuckled, then looked down at her hands. "What do I do? I-I mean he's married, I'm all the way up north...face it, it's not meant to be." she said, with a face of hopelessness.

Carla stood up to rub her daughter's back. "I don't think it's not meant to be." she said, dropping to her knees. "I think it's just an obstacle of time. One that we can make pass by." she encouraged Caitlin.

Caitlin smiled. "So what you're saying is...be patient and our time will come...eventually." she said, nodding to make sure she understood the message behind her mother's words. "If he hasn't broken it off with Iris by the time we get back into the action, I can freeze his butt off." Frost playfully threatened, holding up a particularly cold fist.

Caitlin laughed, then stood up off the stool she was sitting on. "Thanks, Frost." she said, chuckling as she pulled her family into a hug.

Frost suddenly started tearing up from where she stood with her head on Caitlin's left shoulder. "Did I just have my first mother daughter talk?" she asked, chuckling.

Caitlin chuckled back at her. "Yeah. Yeah, I guess you did." she commended, pulling back from the hug to grab her purse. "Killer Frosts, anyone?" she asked her family, on her way to the door with her family following her.

Caitlin couldn't wait to see Barry now that she had gotten that off her chest. But first, she had a coffee date with her sister, mom, and a frosty frappuccino. It couldn't get better than that.

A/N: So as this is my first Flash story, there are bound to be some mistakes! Lmk :)

(1) I always thought Frost and Caitlin separated like Firestorm, but I guess I was wrong :)

(2) I couldn't find any scenes on Youtube of Caitlin saying goodbye to anyone else other than Barry, did she say bye to anyone else?

(3) Does Carla know Barry is the Flash? I legit could not find anything.

(4) DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?! I GOT THIS VISUAL IN MY HEAD, AND I JUST COULDN'T NOT ADD THIS. IT'S ADORABLE, MY HEART :')
