Chapter 02: An Unceremonious Orientation

Ruby is awoken by the sound of her phone's alarm. She groaned as she pried her eyes open and grabs for her phone. She winced as she faced the illuminated screen and struggled to see the digital digits.

7:00 am

April XX, 2021

Never before had Ruby been eager to get out of bed. She hurried over to the bathroom to brush her teeth and hair, her feet stomping on the floorboard and Zwei followed in suit. In the kitchen, Tai could hear it and shook his head with a smile. Ruby then returns to her room to get into her uniform. Her UA uniform! She remerges, with her goggles around her neck, and starts down the hall when she runs into her sister. She slid to a halt. Yang was wearing her UA uniform too and Ruby tries to not look at how the right sleeve hung limp.

After the stretch of silence, Yang gave Ruby a 'Yang-grin.' A 'Yangrin.' "Ready to go, little miss UA student?"

Ruby studied her sister's face, to look out for any cracks in the mask. When she saw none that she could find, she smiled back and nodded a, "Yeah." They head over to the kitchen to enjoy a breakfast made by their father. After that, the sisters head to the grave of their mother, Summer Rose. While Yang stood back at the archway, Ruby sat at the bench, talking to the plaque acting as her mother's tombstone.

"…Well, I'm off, Mom," Ruby said. "I'm going to UA! And so is Jaune! I'm one step closer on becoming a hero. Just like you! The exam was tough, but I did get to meet some interesting people. They all seem so friendly." She then remembers Bakugo and Weiss. "…except for two…I really hope that Midoriya and I are sharing the same class. Oh! I don't think I told you about him yet! He's a friend I made last year! Big hero fanboy. Midoriya has loads of notebooks about heroes and their Quirks. He…even wrote about you." Ruby smiles. "Even though you've been gone for so long, you still inspire people. You still motivated others to follow their dreams. And…I hope I'll do the same at UA!"

"Come on, sis! Let's get our butts moving!" Yang said.

"Okay!" Ruby turns back to the plaque. "Time to go…It was great talking to you. I'll see you later. Wish me luck!"

The sisters find themselves riding in a train on their way to UA. Accompanying them was Jaune, Ren, and Nora. While the sisters, as well as Ren and Nora, are enjoying the ride, Jaune unfortunately wasn't as his motion sickness starts acting up.

"Hangin' in there, Jauney-boy?" Yang asked. She was the only one of the five standing, holding on to the ceiling-mounted handles. She ignores the sideways glances at the place where her right arm should be as she focuses more on the sickly-looking young man.

"I'm hangin'…" Jaune muttered.

"Didn't you take any medicine before you got in?" Ruby asked.

"I did…but there's only so much it can do…"

"At least you're not vomiting," Nora remarked. It was intended as a joke, but all it did was turn Jaune green and Ren shoots her a disapproving glare. "Oops…"

"Then, let's talk about something else," Yang said. "You four excited?"

"Yes, we are!" Nora exclaimed.

"So excited!" Ruby said. "I almost didn't sleep last night!"

"I remember that," Yang said. "I also remember Dad slipping sleep aid in your glass of milk."

"I thought it tasted funny," Ruby responded thoughtfully.

Nora practically bounced in her seat. "I wonder who's gonna be in our class?" She slyly looks over at Ruby. "I bet you want that Midoriya guy with ya, huh?"

Ruby didn't seem to get what Nora was implying. "I sure hope so." She thinks of Weiss and Bakugo again. "Because there's two people I really don't want to be in the same class with…"

"Well, I don't care as long as I have Ren with me!" Nora declared, hugging her friend. Ren barely reacts.

"Ummm…" Ruby said, a bit confused.

"Don't ask. You'll never get a straight answer from her," Jaune told her.

"Hate to break it to you little sis, but there's always a chance you'll be sharing a class with some douche," Yang said. "There was this one dude that was being a real jerk to Amajiki in our first year."

"What? Who would be mean to him?" Ruby questioned. Who would dare harass the poor boy?

"There's always gonna be someone who'll hate your guts for one reason or another," Yang said. An announcement was made through the train's intercom, announcing that the train was about to stop. The grins on Nora and Ruby's faces looked near painful for how excited they are. "Now, we just walk from here." The group exits the train and walks the rest of the way.

Ruby tailed behind Jaune, Nora, and Ren with Yang. Ruby noticed that Yang looked…disappointed. Is it because Blake isn't here? "Yang? Is something wrong? Are you…are you…Blake—"

"It's not about her." Ruby slightly winched at how quickly Yang cut her off. "I'm upset that I can't do what I wanted to do when you got accepted."

"What's that?"

"Not being able to drive you here on Bumblebee," Yang said. It would be unwise to drive a motorcycle with just one arm.

"W-Well, maybe you can do it once you get a prosthetic," Ruby assured. She then regretted saying that when her sister grew quiet again. "…Yang—"

"Hey, Ruby! Get your keister over here!" Nora exclaimed from she and her male friends are standing.

"Go on ahead, little sis. I'll catch up," Yang said to Ruby. But Ruby was hesitant. She didn't want to leave her sister alone with her thoughts. Yang seems to have noticed this and musters up one of her grins to appease Ruby's worry. "I will. Trust me."

"…Okay," Ruby said before she ran to her friends. Once she caught up, she looks at the majesty that is the main building of UA High. Sure, this wasn't the first time she stepped inside campus, but it is the first time as an official UA student. So, she was just as giddy being here as she was a few weeks back.

They enter the main lobby, with Yang right behind them. "This is where I gotta get going to my class in 3-B. As for you guys, head over to that counter over there and the lady will tell you guys which class you're in. See you guys at orientation!" Ruby watched worried as Yang walked off alone. She could see other wondering students stare at the blonde as she passed, or rather stared at the space where her arm used to be.

Ruby heard Nora shout, "Come on, slowpoke!" She reluctantly pushes the concerned thoughts of her sister to the back of her mind and regroups with her friends at the front counter. After giving her their names, she informs them of the class they're assigned to.

"We're all in 1-A?" Jaune voiced.

"Yay!" Nora exclaimed, hugging Ren. Ruby lets out a sigh of relief. At least she knows she's not alone in this.

"The acceptance rate into the hero course has definitely increased this year," the receptionist said.

"What do you mean?" Ruby asked.

"Usually, candidates who made it into the top 40 in the practical exam, including recommendations, are allegeable for the hero course," the receptionist explained. "This year, it was increased to 50."

"That might explain a few things," Ren mused softly.

"Oh, don't be so hard on yourself," Nora said to him. "You got in because you were awesome!"

"I'd hurry to class if I was you four," the receptionist advised. Ruby couldn't help but feel that there was a hidden meaning in what she said.

"You heard the lady! Let's head to class!" Nora exclaimed.

The door before them was twice, nearly thrice, their height.

"Holy crap," Jaune remarked at the size.

Nora turns to Ruby. "You wanna do the honors?" she asked her. Ruby nodded and reached out to open the door and great her new classmates!

"What do you think you are doing?!" Tenya Ida shouted at the cocky blonde before him.

"What's the big deal, four-eyes?" Katsuki Bakugo smirked, his feet propping up on the desk he is seating in.

"Big deal? Big deal?! Do you realize that you are disgracing UA property?!"

A few rows away, Weiss Schnee scoffed and rolled her eyes. "How they got in is beyond me."

"I'm sure they are perfectly capable, Schnee," Momo Yaoyorozu gently disagreed.

"We are perfectly capable, Yaoyorozu. Unlike them."

Ruby abruptly closes the door before turning around and leaned back on the hard wood. If she was trying to keep the door closed, she seems to have momentarily forgot that it was a sliding door. "Uh, Ruby?" Jaune asked. "What's wrong?"

"Are we sure this is 1-A?" she asked.

"Um…I would say so," Jaune said. He smiles at Ruby's silliness and motions at the door. "I mean, there's a giant '1' and 'A' right there in bold red."

"Maybe it's a typo?" Ruby insisted. Then, the door behind her opens, causing her to lose her balance and fall back. Thankfully, someone's chest breaks her fall, and she sees the upside-down friendly face of Eijiro Kirishima.

"Hey, it's you!" he smiled as Ruby stood straight. "Ruby Rose, right?"

"Uh…"

"It's me, Kirishima! From the practical exam?"

"…Oh! Right, right, right…the one with the hardening Quirk?" Ruby asked.

"That's me! Cool goggles. Oh! Am I blocking your way? Sorry. Come in!" Kirishima moves out of the way to let Ruby and her friends in. Ruby walks in at a snail's pace, avoiding eye contact with Bakugo and Weiss and…really anybody else. "You alright there, Rose?"

Ruby tries to ignore Weiss' stare. "Um, I-I guess I'm a little nervous."

"You don't gotta be. Take a look." He points over at Jaune, Nora and Ren as they eagerly meet with the other students, some that they have met during the exam.

"Oh my gosh! We're in the same class, Nora!" Mina Ashido said.

"Mina!"

"Looks like we're in the same class too, Ren," Hanta Sero said with a thumbs up. Ren returns the gesture.

"I haven't thanked you enough, ona mi. If it wasn't for you and your Quirk, I wouldn't have been able to continue," Yuga Aoyama thanked Jaune. He gives his fellow blonde a twinkling wink. "Merci beaucoup."

"Uh, y-you're welcome," Jaune said awkwardly.

"There's a lot of friendly faces here, Rose. No need to sweat, right?" Kirishima said to Ruby.

"…Yeah. Yeah, you're right," Ruby said as she mustered up a smile, starting to feel more at ease. "As long as I don't have to be buddy-buddy with either Bakugo or Schnee, I'm good!" She heard the classroom door open again and she turns to greet the new arrival. She gasps with delight. "Midoriya!"

After a brief moment of panic at the sight of Bakugo and Ida, Izuku notices Ruby. "Rose!" he beamed.

"We're in the same class together?" they asked at the same time. "That's awesome." They stared as they processed what just happened before they started laughing.

Bakugo tsked. "Great. They're multiplying," he grumbled.

Jaune on the other hand couldn't help but smile at the sight. He knew about his father helping Ruby and Izuku with the park at the mainland, but he never knew of this level of closeness between them. Reminds him of when he and Ruby first met…

"My, my. Such synchronie," Aoyama mused. "They must have been friends for such a long time." Jaune was compelled to tell him that they've only met a year ago. It is amazing. Ruby and Izuku could very much fool everyone with how close they are. Jaune remembered how it took a while for Ruby and him to get to the point of synchronicity or to be opened with each other…or…

"This is so great! I'm so happy that all of my friends are in the same class!" Ruby said.

"Friends…" Izuku could feel his heart getting warm at that word. "Yeah!"

"Excuse me!" He then felt his heart stop as Ida made his way over. "I'm sorry to interrupt but please allow me to introduce myself! My name is Tenya Ida an—"

"I-I know who you are!" Izuku blurted out. Ida freezes in place. "Uh…I mean…I-I'm Izuku Midoriya." He bows. "Nice to meet you!"

"And I'm Ruby Rose!" Ruby said. She too bows. "It's very nice to meet you!" Bakugo glared at the two from his spot. Weiss did too, though more at Ruby.

"…Midoriya, you figured out that there was more to the practical exam than what was on the surface," Ida said.

Izuku looks up and straightens up. "Huh?" Ruby does the same.

"Are you talking about the rescue points?" she asked.

"Then that means you knew as well?" Ida asked the girl.

"Wha…? I had no idea about that. Though, I guess it makes sense in hindsight," Ruby said. "They wanted to see if we could react well during a crisis. That or I'm just overthinking."

"I think you're right," Izuku said. "The judges probably wanted to see what we'd do in a moment of panic."

"You two are so perspective… And I completely misjudged you, Midoriya. As a student, you're far superior to me!"

"What is up with this guy?" Ruby wondered.

"Oh! O recognize that mop of hair!" a girly voice said from behind. Ruby looks to see an adorable brunette with equally cute, blushed cheeks, Ochako Uraraka.

"Ah! It's you!" Izuku exclaimed. Ruby noticed how he blushed and squirmed at the girl's presence. Have they met before?

"What do you think we're doing today besides orientation?" the girl asked excitedly. "I wonder what our teachers are like! I can't wait to meet everybody! This is so exciting!"

"If you're just here to make friends then you can pack up your things and leave now," a bored, tired voice said from the floor. The four standing near the entrance looked out to the hallway and down to see a yellow…caterpillar with a human face? In that same, bored tone, the caterpillar said, "Hello and welcome to Class 1-A."

"What is that?" they all thought in horror.

The 'caterpillar' – actually a regular looking guy – unzips the sleeping bag he was in stands up on his feet. "It took you four eight seconds to quiet down. That's not gonna work in my class."

"His class? What does he mean?" Ruby thought. "And why does he look so familiar?"

"I'm Shouta Aizawa, your homeroom teacher," the scruffy man said.

"Our teacher?!" Ruby and Izuku exclaimed internally.

"Time is precious," Aizawa said as he digs into his sleeping bag and pulls out a blue gym uniform. "Now, go put these on and head outside."

"What's going on?" Ruby wondered.

A shiver went up Yang's spine as she walked along with her class. Walking next to her, close to her right side, was Mirio with a perplex look.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"My big sister sense is tingling," Yang said.

"Big sister sense, huh? Then that means something is going on with Ruby. I wonder…" Mirio suddenly halted, much to Yang's confusion. "You don't think she has Aizawa as her homeroom teacher, do you?"

"God, I hope not," Yang said with a knowing smirk. "That guy can be a little crazy. Maybe Ruby has Vlad King as her homeroom teacher and she's just dealing with some punk." But, according to her 'big sister sense', she somehow knew this wasn't the case.

Meanwhile…

"Did you seriously put them in Class 1-A?" Toshinori asked Nezu in the rodent's office, Toshinori's long torso stretched across the hardwood desk as he leaned close to the smiling, rat-like face.

"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. Who knows~?" Nezu replied flippantly.

Toshinori pinched the bridge of his nose. He then rallies up a very strained smile, so tense that the wrinkles around the corners of his mouth looked stretched. "Sir, I have known you since before you started teaching here, when you were working for the police. And I am grateful for all of your advice and wisdom." His smile was quickly replaced by an irritated frown. "But there are times where you are a tad bit much!"

"Sound familiar?" Ozpin smiled. Toshinori turned his glare to the very obvious smug on his friend's face.

"All Might," came Nezu's professional tone. "I know you are worried for your niece and successor but believe me when I say that they are in good hands. Aizawa may seem rough around the edges, but he genuinely cares for the wellbeing of his students."

Toshinori wanted to believe Nezu. The animal was hardly wrong, but… "I'm gonna check on them, just to see how they are doing. They are at the auditorium, right?"

"Try the training grounds behind Gym Gamma," Ozpin said. Toshinori froze just before he could make another step and released a frustrated breath as his eye twitched.

"I am beginning to see Glynda's frustration when you two are left together to your own devices," he muttered. "A couple of brilliant minds with an odd sense of humor."

"My goodness, All Might. I knew you have a way with words, but you don't have to flatter me so much. You've already got the teaching job," Nezu said jokingly. "I can almost feel a blush underneath my fur."

As the principal laugh haughtily, Toshinori looks over at Ozpin. "Don't look at me, you're the one who makes it easy. You always fall for his trap."

"I wouldn't say trap. I would say a well-played choice of words to get under one's skin. What do you think, All Might?"

Toshinori forms into his muscle-bound form. "Nope, I'm leaving." Refusing to wait around to fall for another 'well-played choice of words,' Toshinori exits the office.

Once the door clicked shut, Ozpin rises from his seat and turns to Nezu and said, "Shouldn't we have told him about Aizawa's other proposition?"

"Oh, I think he knows. After all, he has Ms. Nikos as his sidekick," Nezu said with a wag of his tail. He moves his chair to hop down. "Now, let's head on over to the auditorium." Ozpin made no move as Nezu climbed his leg and back to find a nice spot on his shoulder. "It would be unsightly UA's principal and vice principal to not be present at the opening ceremony, especially since we are down a class."

"Right," Ozpin said as he exits through the door and walked down the hall, the only sound being the click of his cane. "As we walk, may I ask you something?"

"Ask away."

"Has there been any word on Blake Belladonna or Adam Taurus?" Ozpin asked. Back in February, during work studies with pro hero, Doc, UA students Yang Xiao Long and Blake Belladonna were attacked by a man named Adam Taurus, resulting in both Yang and Blake being hospitalized. Blake had a stab wound that thankfully didn't hit anything vital, but Yang lost her arm in the skirmish.

"There had been some sightings of Ms. Belladonna, but whenever the sightings were investigated, she was nowhere to be seen. Likely thanks to her Quirk," Nezu replied grimly, sadden that they haven't found his student yet. "As for Taurus, we may have found some crucial, but the police have yet to reveal anything as its too early to say. What I can say is that Ms. Belladonna appeared to have had an intimate relationship with Adam Taurus, according to some of her classmates. It's possible that when Ms. Belladonna broke things off, that angered Taurus."

"Enough to attack two students. What about the nature of Taurus' Quirk?" Ozpin asked.

"That is up in the air at the moment. We have yet to find any criminal records regarding one Adam Taurus here in Japan, so we're hoping we could speak with other countries on the off chance that Taurus didn't originate from Japan," Nezu said.

"Taurus isn't a common surname. It could be that he had a small family, or…"

"It's a pseudonym," Nezu finished. "Whatever the case, we are not done searching here. Ms. Belladonna's description of what has happened to Ms. Xiao Long's lost arm gave us an idea."

"That the arm…disintegrated?"

"When the location of the fight was investigated, the police did find the arm. I'd say burnt to a crisp is a better description," Nezu said. The rodent could feel his human companion tense up, his jaw a thin line clenching his teeth. Very rarely does Ozpin show any emotions outside of stoic calmness. "Do not fret, my friend. We will get to the bottom of this."

Ruby, along with the rest of Class 1-A, got dressed into their UA gym uniforms before going out to the P.E. grounds behind a large building, Ruby surmising that it's a gym. Ruby's modified goggles remained around her neck.

"I don't remember this being a part in opening ceremonies," she thought. She remembered her middle school opening ceremony: All the new students go to a hall, like the gym or auditorium, where the principal gives a speech. After that, the new students meet their homeroom teacher before mingling with each other, getting to know one another.

This…is different.

Mina suddenly appears beside Ruby. "Hey, do you have any idea what's going on?"

"No, I have no idea…um…"

"Oh, sorry. I'm Mina Ashido. You're Rose, right? Ruby Rose? Nora told me about you."

"Yeah, that's me."

A floating uniform jumps in. "And I'm Tooru Hagakure! I wanted to thank you so much, Rose! It's because of you that I'm here!"

For a moment, Ruby tried to remember what she did that helped someone with an invisible Quirk. There was this one…girl? Boy? …who had one, but theirs looked more like an Emitter. Then, Ruby realizes that she recognized Hagakure's voice. She was the first one to say thanks when she learned about the button on the robots. Ruby couldn't see her because of her Quirk.

"Happy to help!" …Wait, did that mean Hagakure was…naked?

Ruby nearly runs into Bakugo. Not wanting a repeat of the entrance exam, she steps back as Bakugo glared her down.

"What did I say about putting stupid ideas into other peoples' heads?" Bakugo growled.

"Huh?" What's wrong with helping people? Isn't that what a hero is supposed to do?

"And now, because of you," Bakugo sees Izuku walking up, only to pause when he saw his childhood 'friend' staring at him, "we've got useless extras here." Izuku looks down at his words. Hagakure, on the other hand, was fuming.

"Excuse me?!" the girl shrilled angrily, her short sleeves going up and down rapidly. "What did you mean by that, you jerk?"

The class finally arrived at the designated located where Aizawa informs them of what they are going to do.

"A Quirk Apprehension Test?" all of the class questioned.

"But, what about orientation?" Ochako asked.

"It's pointless to attend useless ceremonies," Aizawa said. "UA is unlike other schools, as it encourages freedom. Meaning I get to run my class however I see fit."

"Is that even allowed?" Rikido Satou asked.

It was then when Ruby remembered what Qrow said about UA a couple months back.

'UA is probably Japan's most unconventional school.'

"Is this what Uncle Qrow meant?" she wondered.

"In an effort for everyone to be equal, the Ministry of Education prohibited the use of Quirks among students throughout elementary and middle schools. Which is irrational. No one is equal." Aizawa turns to Bakugo. "Katsuki Bakugo. What was your farthest distance in softball throwing in middle school?"

"67 meters."

Ruby thinks it's impressive as her farthest distance was 39 meters. Realizing what she was thinking, she makes a disgusted look. "Ugh, great. I'm impressed by a jerk. Wait. 39 meters was my farthest distance in middle school. That was before my training. I wonder how far I can throw now."

Aizawa tosses a softball at Bakugo. It looked like an ordinary softball, except for the, what looks to be, scanners. "Try throwing with your Quirk. I don't care how, so as long as you stay in the line."

"Fine," was all Bakugo said before he headed to the pitching circle. "I'll drop their jaws." After some stretches, Bakugo motions to throw the ball with a rather feral grin as he used to his Quirk for the throw, the ball soars as though it was shot out of a rocket launcher. "Die!"

Everyone stared in awe at the display.

A little unnerved, Jaune asked, "Did he just shout 'die?'"

Aizawa shows the score on his phone.

"705.2 meters?!" Ruby exclaimed in her head.

"The point of the apprehension tests is to test your maximum capabilities, Quirk and all," Aizawa said.

The class chatter among themselves, excited to use their Quirks in a safe environment, Ruby included. More often than not, she gets scolded by her teachers in middle school for using her Quirk, which would happen spontaneously when she gets excited.

"Isn't this great?" Nora asked. "We get to show off our Quirks! Whoo-hoo!"

A cryptic smirk formed on Aizawa's stubbled face. "You think this is fun huh? The kid dead last is immediately expelled."

Ruby and Izuku gasped before everyone grew silent at the declaration.

"…Immediate…expulsion?" Jaune asked in horror. Ruby looks at him with concern. From the way it looks, the student with the lowest score would get kicked out. Jaune had indeed trained hard to get in, what really saving him was his willingness to help. His Quirk isn't meant for combat, at least not for himself. Whatever the tests may entail, Jaune will may have a hard time. And from the look of Nora and Ren, Ren is the same.

Without thinking, Ruby looks over at Izuku, who looked worried too.

"So, you still think this is fun?" Aizawa inquired. "Like I said, I get to run my class how I see fit. Don't like it? Then leave."

Weiss then steps forward. "All right I had enough. There is no way you are a teacher here."

Dark eyebrows disappear further into the unkempt bangs of Aizawa as he shifts his gaze to the heiress. "And what makes you say that?"

"Weiss…" Momo voiced urgently, afraid that her friend might get into trouble.

"You look more like a hobo than an actual hero," Weiss said. "That jumpsuit looks more pajamas, and you look like you haven't bathed in weeks. Heck, you look like you could pass out at any moment. I'm having a hard time believing that you are a teacher, especially since you are willing to kick out students, even if they are incompetent and unfit for the hero course like short, stout, and deviant over there." She points a thumb at the grape-like head of Minoru Mineta. "Especially when you compare them to those with exceptional skills."

"Huh? Hey, what's that supposed to mean?"

Everyone else stared at Weiss in astonishment that she was willing to back talk Aizawa. Some also wondered if she had indirectly insulted some of them.

Aizawa though had little to no reaction. "Are you done?"

Weiss blinked. "…yes?"

"Great. Now, it's my turn," Aizawa said. "What I see is someone acting like she already has what it takes to be a hero when her exceptional skill on the battlefield is matched only by her poor attitude."

Some of the students voiced their reaction with a 'oooooh.'

Hanta Sero turned to Denki Kaminari to whisper, "Damn." Kaminari nodded in agreement.

Weiss was less than amused. "How dare you?!"

"My point exactly," Aizawa said. "I see a girl before me who has spent her entire life getting exactly what she wanted."

Weiss scoffed haughtily and crossed her arms. "That is not even remotely true." The neutral look from Aizawa has Weiss falter her snooty demeanor a little. "…Not entirely true." She moves back to the group, next to a worried Momo.

"Still, you can't just expel someone," Ochako voiced. "That's unfair!"

"Unfair? Do you think villain attacks are unfair? What about natural disasters, such as hurricanes and mudslides?" Aizawa questioned. "The world is full of unfairness. And that's why heroes exist. To combat that wrong. And because of that, we need heroes willing to be pushed to the brink and go beyond, Plus Ultra. The next three years will be absolute hell, so be ready."

Hearing this, Ruby thinks about her parents, Qrow, and Yang and what they all have gone through. "He's right," she said. Everyone looks at her. "I mean, isn't that why we're here? My sister used to read me stories about heroes and villains. How the heroes would continue with all their might to stop evil and I hope to do the same."

"And why is that?" Mineta laughed nasally. "Hoping you'll live happily ever after?"

"Well, hoping we all will. I…grew up around heroes and I wanted to be just like them. The world is a dangerous place, but someone once said that even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change. Why not be that of spark?"

Ruby's little speech seems to have helped everyone's spirits go back up.

"Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale. But that is why we are here. We've wasted enough time talking," Aizawa said. "Let's begin."

"Yes, sir!"
