Internships have begun for the students at UA, while Midoriya continued his work at the hospital.
Midoriya was working on his arm when Doc came in.
"Midoriya, we got a few heroes here asking for you" said Doc.
"Is it an emergency, or just a check-up?" asked Midoriya.
"It's a little more than that... this is the kind of thing where real Battle Medics shine" said Doc.
Midoriya was puzzled wondering what else is there to being a Battle Medic. He walked into the main reception area to be greeted by a group of heroes, including Kamui Woods and Endeavor.
"Hey, Dr. Midoriya" said Todoroki standing next to his father.
"Hey, Todoroki. You took your internship with Endeavor?" Midoriya said.
"This is Dr. Midoriya? Thought he'd be older" Endeavor said.
"He may be a teenager, but he's got skills. He can help us in our man hunt" Kamui said.
"Man Hunt?" asked Midoriya.
"Simply put it, we're on the hunt for Hero Killer Stain. You were recommended by Kamui Woods to join us" Endeavor explained to Midoriya.
"You guys are after Hero Killer Stain... Alright. I'll join you" Midoriya said.
"Good. We're leaving in a few minutes" said Endeavor.
Midoriya got ready in his Battle Medic suit and grabbed his dart gun.
Midoriya and the team left the hospital and scouted through the city to find Hero Killer Stain.
A few hours later...
Midoriya, Endeavor, and Todoroki were taking a break on a rooftop overlooking Hosu City. Todoroki was having a snack when he noticed Midoriya scribbling stuff in his notebook.
"What are you writing Dr. Midoriya?" said Todoroki.
"I'm trying to zero down on every possible location Stain would frequently visit" Midoriya said not looking away from the notebook.
Todoroki sees a map of Hosu in the notebook and crossed out circles over every location they've been to and open circles over the next few locations they will be visiting.
"I've seen that same notebook with you the whole time you were at UA. What do you really use it for?" Todoroki asked.
Todoroki piqued Midoriya's interest. Midoriya started to show him all the pages in his notebook, all his quirk analyses. The All Might autograph, and more. He even had Todoroki's quirk analysis in there.
Endeavor also looked at the notebook and saw how detailed the information was.
"Do you have the Hero Killer in there too?" Endeavor asked Midoriya.
"As a matter of fact, yes. His quirk is Bloodcurdle. He can paralyze anyone just by licking their blood. That's the reason why he used blades" Midoriya explained showing Endeavor the page on Stain.
"This can help us. He got records of almost every hero and villain. I just hope this notebook doesn't end up in the wrong hands" Endeavor thought to himself.
"Endeavor! We found him!" Kamui said over the radio.
"Lets go!" Endeavor said shooting himself off the roof and dashing towards Kamui's location.
Todoroki kept up with Endeavor using his ice to propel him through the city while Midoriya used his Extended hand as a grapple and swung around behind them.
They reached Kamui's location, only to find Kamui on the ground with a sword in his shoulder and Stain standing on top of him.
Endeavor took the first strike and shot a Flashfire fist directly at Stain.
Stain dodged and advances towards Endeavor, but gets blocked by Todoroki's ice wall.
Stain sensed someone behind him and turned around to see a metal fist coming towards him at an insane speed.
Stain barely dodged, but wasn't prepared for the metal fist to grab him from the back of the neck and Midoriya flew by connecting a kick to Stain's face.
"Ha! Good one, kid. You got skills. But one good kick isn't gonna keep me down!" Stain said to Midoriya.
"I've been counting on this" Midoriya said as he got ready to fight Hero Killer Stain.
Endeavor shot another Flashfire fist at Stain to get him to move, while Todoroki shot his own flames at Stain while he was mid air. Both Endeavor and Todoroki missed, but Midoriya saw the opportunity to rush Stain while he was dodging their long range attacks.
Endeavor started to focus his fire and shot it out like a laser beam directed at Stain, but Stain moved out of the way so that the fire would hit Midoriya instead of him.
Midoriya put his arm in the way of the laser and the plating redirected it somewhere else instead of blowing a hole in the arm.
"Midoriya! Are you okay?!" Endeavor shouted.
"Yeah, I'm alright" Midoriya replied. "I think I have an idea, do that again".
"Again?!" Both Endeavor and Todoroki said in unison.
"Yes, just trust me!" said Midoriya.
Endeavor shot another laser at Midoriya's arm.
Midoriya reflects the laser and adjusts its angle to hit Stain just as he rushes to attempt to kill Kamui.
Stain felt the laser pierce his skin and had to stop himself from moving.
"We got him!" Todoroki said as he covered the Hero Killer in ice.
"That was quicker than I thought it would be..." Midoriya said.
"I see why Kamui Woods recommended you Dr. Midoriya. You're a quick thinker, and you got some guts" said Endeavor.
"And I can see that you are friends with my Shoto. He's turned out much better than before he met you" Endeavor added.
Midoriya took his leave after saying goodbye to Todoroki. He had to patch up Kamui, and tend to Native, the hero who was paralyzed along with Kamui.
"This was a long day. I guess I finally figured out this whole Battle Medic thing, but... it just felt more like hero work than anything else" Midoriya said to himself.
A few weeks later...
The final exams were around the corner and Midoriya was back at his job at UA. But something came up. Principal Nezu called him in.
"Ah. Dr. Midoriya! Please. Take a seat" said Nezu, the small mouse like creature.
"So, what do you want to talk about, principal Nezu?" asked Midoriya.
"Well, it's concerning class 1A's final exam's practical..." Nezu said. "I need you to be one of the examiners".
"Is there a reason to why you want me, specifically?" asked Midoriya.
"I would do it myself, but something's come up and I'll be preoccupied for the next few days, and I heard of your combat skills and I thought you would be the perfect challenge for the students" Nezu explained.
"Okay, I'll do it for you" Midoriya said.
"Perfect! I'll get things ready for you, all you have to do is show up, and don't hold back" said Nezu.
The day of the final exam practical has come, the students will be grouped together in teams of two and one team of three, and they must fight against a teacher. Midoriya was one of them. Bakugo was paired with Todoroki against Eraserhead, and Kaminari, Yaoyorozu and Mina were paired against Midoriya.
"We're literally up against a half-cyborg martial artist. This is gonna be hard" Kaminari said.
"If we work as a team, we can easily beat Midoriya. You just need a little bit of confidence" Mina said before Midoriya showed up.
"But don't get too confident, that confidence can become your arrogance. Know your limits and be creative with how you approach me out there" Midoriya said as he glanced over at Yaoyorozu. She remembers the talk she had with Midoriya back at the sports festival.
"Good Luck! You're gonna need it" Midoriya said as he walked away.
"We're gonna have to talk strategy, guys" Yaoyorozu said to Kaminari and Mina.
Midoriya watches the exams through the screens in the observation room when he was visited by All Might.
"How are you doing, Midoriya?" asked All Might.
"I'm alright... how about you?" asked Midoriya.
"Just thinking... you seem to have a knack for this" All Might replied.
"Knack for what?" asked Midoriya.
"This. Improving the students' state of mind, motivating them to try harder to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. You've been able to bond with them better than the rest of the staff here" All Might explained.
"Teenagers think alike, All Might. It's why I am able to understand their doubts, their concerns, and I know what they need to hear so they can carry on through hell without wanting to turn back. There are some problems that only teenagers face, and sometimes, it takes another to help them solve those problems" Midoriya explained to All Might.
All Might is taken aback by how wise Midoriya has become, he showed clear signs of maturity and has proven time and time again that he is someone people can rely on.
"I guess you're right..." All Might said with a sigh. "Sorry for the trouble".
"No need to be sorry, All Might. There's no reason for that. What's done is done. It's time that we all move on" said Midoriya.
Midoriya extended his left hand to All Might.
"Okay, thank you, Midoriya" All Might said as he shook Midoriya's hand.
It was Midoriya's turn to be the examiner. He met at the entrance to exam site with the team of three.
"Lets see if you guys improved, I won't be holding back" Midoriya said.
"We're ready" Mina, Kaminari, and Yaoyorozu replied in unison.
Midoriya made his way to the other side of the site and waited by the exit for a while. The site looked similar to an industrial environment.
A few minutes have passed and Midoriya decided to leave his post and search for the team. He found Kaminari on his own.
"This isn't right. This must be their strategy for an ambush" Midoriya thought to himself.
"He's Here!" shouted Kaminari.
Out of nowhere, Mina and Yaoyorozu appeared behind Midoriya both throwing a right hook aiming at Midoriya's head. Midoriya blocked both punches, but he realized that they were much stronger than usual. Kaminari connected a right jab directly onto Midoriya's spine. Mina and Yaoyorozu worked together to throw Midoriya over their shoulders and slammed him onto the ground.
Midoriya retreated to a safe distance and saw that all three of them were wearing a metal sleeve on their right arms.
"They tried to replicate my right arm... smart" Midoriya thought to himself while he stood up.
"I remembered the time you answered Kirishima's question about what your arm was made of. So I replicated a simpler version of it" said Yaoyorozu.
"It may not be able to do all the cool things yours can do, but we have the strength and resistance to match" said Kaminari.
Midoriya started laughing.
"Ha! Now that's what I'm talking about!" Midoriya shouted as he got into a fighting stance. "This is going to be interesting!".
Kaminari advanced towards Midoriya to throw another punch, but Midoriya dodged at the last moment and countered with a right uppercut to the stomach.
Kaminari fell back and tried to catch his breath before blocking another punch from Midoriya. Mina kicked Midoriya's arm away and swung a few punches of her own.
All of her punches missed, and Midoriya side-stepped the last punch and threw her over his shoulder and slammed her into the ground so hard that she bounced back up into the air. Midoriya finished her off with a Stun Shot to her stomach, shooting her halfway across the site.
Yaoyorozu advanced on Midoriya and faked a right hook, only to surprise Midoriya with a shield bash.
Midoriya backed up into Kaminari who connected a German Suplex on him. Midoriya got up instantly and connected a reverse roundhouse on Kaminari's jaw just as he was getting up.
Yaoyorozu punched Midoriya in the jaw, hoping that would knock him out, but he got back up and used the Jackhammer fist on her shield. The shield eventually broke and she made another shield and bashed him back to get some breathing room. Midoriya advances again, but gets interrupted by a flying kick to the side of his face. Mina came back just in time to make the fight even again.
Midoriya grappled away from the group to gain momentum for his own flying kick. Mina dodged and Yaoyorozu blocked it with her shield. Midoriya jumped off her shield and released a bright flash from his palm to blind the team. Kaminari and Mina were rubbing their eyes, but Yaoyorozu wasn't blinded. She blocked her eyes with her shield at the right time.
Midoriya did another flying kick directly into Yaoyorozu's shield, but this time, she got him trapped. Yaoyorozu grabbed Midoriya and slammed him into the ground with the shield and pinned him down while Kaminari and Mina put the cuff on his right hand, winning the fight and passing the exam.
"Okay. You got me. Well done, you three" Midoriya said as he got up from under Yaoyorozu.
"I knew we could do it!" Mina said cheering them on.
"Yes! We beat the half-cyborg doctor!" cheered Kaminari.
"You weren't lying about not holding back, Dr. Midoriya" said Yaoyorozu.
"I don't break any promises" Midoriya replied.
Everyone passed the exam except for Sato, Kirishima and Sero, but everyone was allowed to go to training camp during the summer break.
As summer started, Midoriya was visited by Kaminari and Mineta.
"You want me to come with you to get permission to use the school swimming pool?" asked Midoriya.
"Yeah, for training purposes, just the three of us" Mineta said.
"There's more to what they want the pool for. Knowing Mineta, it's probably something pervy..." Midoriya thought to himself.
"Alright. I'll help you guys" Midoriya said. "But I'll be watching you, mostly Mineta. If it's something other than training you're doing there, we're leaving immediately"
Kaminari and Mineta shuddered at Midoriya's seriousness.
"Don't worry, Midoriya. It's only for training" Kaminari said reassuring Midoriya that Mineta will behave himself.
Midoriya, Kaminari, and Mineta went to talk to Aizawa to get permission to use the pool.
"Alright, but not for long..." said Aizawa.
The three of them walked to the pool calmly while Mineta tried to keep his composure and act surprised when he saw the girls there.
"Hey, boys" Tsuyu said.
"Hey, you're here too?" Kaminari asked the girls pretending to not know that they were here the whole time.
"Hi there" Midoriya said greeting the girls.
"Midoriya's here too?" asked Mina.
"Are you even waterproof?" Uraraka asked Midoriya.
"Yes. I'm waterproof" Midoriya said with a chuckle.
The boys got ready to swim, and the girls were just fooling around.
They stopped for a minute to look at a now shirtless Midoriya. He had scars all over, but his body was ripped like they have never seen before. They even saw where his right arm ends with the metal stitched into his skin.
Midoriya continued training, paying no attention to the girls, he challenged Kaminari and Mineta to beat him at least once in a swimming race. For the whole duration of their stay, they had no luck.
The girls drooled over the sight of Midoriya's body as they got closer.
Midoriya, Kaminari and Mineta walked home with the girls after a long day of swimming.
The next day the class went to the mall to grab essentials for the camp, Midoriya kept an eye on them while they went on to do their thing.
Midoriya noticed a hooded figure walking towards him and he put his guard up, under the hood was the villain known as Tomura Shigaraki.
"I know it's you, Shigaraki" said Midoriya.
"Oh. Guard up in an instant, eh? You are vigilant, I'll give you that" Shigaraki replied.
"Now now, I only came here for answers" Shigaraki added.
"What kind of answers" Midoriya asked.
"I've been itching to know... what really is the difference between me and All Might?" Shigaraki asked.
"It's pretty obvious. All Might is a symbol of peace, he brings safety and security to everyone just by existing, you however, are the complete opposite. To be honest with you, putting you and All Might together is like a balance between good and evil, your obnoxious planning in killing All Might was nowhere close to possible" Midoriya said.
Shigaraki scratched his neck in frustration.
"You are powerful, but not powerful enough to stand up to the likes of All Might, your goals aren't attainable or realistic" Midoriya added remembering what All Might told him that day on the rooftop.
Shigaraki gasped relieved that he found his answer.
"Not what I was expecting, but it's the answer nonetheless. All I have to do is think outside the box, gain an upper hand on All Might, maybe even some leverage... Thanks Dr. Midoriya for making me see the flaws in my plans!" Shigaraki said with a crazed look in his eyes.
Midoriya readied his Stun Shot and aimed it at Shigaraki.
"Unfortunately, I can't let you go" said Midoriya. "You're a villain, and villains like you deserve to be behind bars. We can't have a maniac like you running around".
A black mist showed up out of nowhere and teleported Shigaraki away before Midoriya could do anything.
"Dammit!" said Midoriya, now frustrated.
"Izuku! Are you okay?" Uraraka asked as she ran towards Midoriya.
"I'm alright... just pissed" Midoriya replied.
