The class left for training camp and Midoriya took his usual spot on the bus next to Aizawa. The bus stopped at a hillside overlooking the forest.
Two of a group of four heroes known as the wild wild Pussycats were waiting for them at the stop.
Midoriya was surprised to know that the class was going to go to the camp on foot through the forest, he decided to join them.
"Alright. Try to keep up." Midoriya said to the class as he jumped off the edge and started running towards the campsite.
Rock monsters stopped the class on their way, but Midoriya made quick work of them as he bulldozes through the forest. Kaminari just followed his lead and was the only one able to keep up with Midoriya.
All 4 of the wild wild Pussycats were waiting at the campsite for the students. Midoriya and Kaminari were the first ones there, with Bakugo and Todoroki not so far behind.
Midoriya and Kaminari made it to the campsite without a scratch on them, and in 2 hours. Todoroki and Bakugo took 4 hours, while the rest took a whole 6 hours.
"You two did better than us! And without a scratch on you!" Pixie Bob exclaimed in excitement.
She started to flirt with Midoriya, Bakugo, Todoroki, and Kaminari uncontrollably, while Mandalay explained to Aizawa that Pixie Bob is at the age at where she is looking for a partner. None of the four boys were buying it.
"Kaminari, you're usually into this sort of thing, why aren't you enjoying it?" Midoriya asked with a smirk on his face.
"I'm too tired to care... wait. How do you know that?!" Kaminari said getting defensive.
"We hang out together almost all the time, you really have a short memory, huh" Midoriya replied.
Both class 1A and 1B had an amazing dinner, and later went to relax in the spa that was separated by a wall. One side for the boys and one side for the girls.
Midoriya was watching over the boys when he saw Mineta looking at the wall.
"I know what you're thinking, Mineta. Don't" said Midoriya.
Mineta didn't listen and rushed to the wall and used his hair to climb to the top of the wall when Midoriya's hand stopped him from going any further. A small boy named Kota showed up on top of the wall looking down at Mineta around the same time Midoriya intervened.
Kota flicked his finger on Mineta's head and he let go of the wall, allowing Midoriya to slam him into the water.
The boys laughed at what just happened and the girls thanked Kota for intervening.
Kota looked their way and got embarrassed when he saw that they were all naked, and fell off the wall. Midoriya stopped his fall at the right time and put him on the ground.
"Uh, thanks. uh..." Kota replied not knowing Midoriya's name.
"You can just call me Midoriya" he said.
"H-how did you get that metal arm?" asked Kota.
"A villain was responsible for my current condition, that's all I can say" Midoriya responded as the smile on his face disappears.
Kota didn't say another word and just stared at Midoriya's arm.
The next day has arrived and training has begun for the students, Midoriya did some of his own training on the side.
Midoriya looked at his right arm and started remembering his life before he was recruited as a Battle Medic. His train of thought was broken when he felt a poke on his left shoulder.
"Hey, Izuku. Can you help me with something?" said Yaoyorozu.
Midoriya was surprised that Yaoyorozu called him Izuku, as the only students who did called him Izuku were Bakugo and Uraraka.
Midoriya cracked a smile and agreed to help Yaoyorozu.
"I want you to teach me how to fight like you do, Izuku" Yaoyorozu said.
"Sure, I'll teach you what I know" Midoriya replied. "It is understandable why you want to learn how to fight, your quirk is good in certain situations, but when it comes to combat, you have to rely on a skill that can only be developed over time to get the upper hand on your opponents".
"So, if I learn how to fight..." Yaoyorozu said.
"... You'll have better fighting experience, and extra glory" Midoriya said finishing her sentence.
Yaoyorozu started to understand why a skill that is only developed carries more promise than a quirk someone was born with.
"You see. A lot of heroes these days rely on their quirks in everything they do, but if you take that away from them, they're helpless" Midoriya explained.
"So just having a quirk is not enough, you need to develop skills that will allow you to work efficiently even without a quirk" Yaoyorozu said.
"Now you're seeing the hidden truth" said Midoriya.
"Take your fighting stance" Midoriya said going into his fighting stance.
Yaoyorozu got into her fighting stance.
Midoriya started with showing her a counter that works against anyone. It was a simple side-step with a punch to the jaw and a leg sweep.
Midoriya demonstrated the move shadow boxing style and then let Yaoyorozu practice on him.
They carried on until Yaoyorozu perfected the counter, executing all three moves directly after the other to look like one whole move.
Midoriya went on and taught her a few more moves and eventually went onto some advanced moves over the next few days.
Other than training Yaoyorozu, it was an uneventful camp for Midoriya. Until the day came when the league attacked the camp.
Midoriya looked around and couldn't find Kota anywhere.
"Where did that kid go... I better go find him" Midoriya thought to himself.
Midoriya searched the forest and found Kota by a cliff, backing away from a large figure.
Midoriya didn't even think and just dashed in front of the figure and kept Kota behind him.
"Oh. And is this supposed to be one of those 'Heroes in the making?' Ha. never seen you before" said the large man known as muscular.
"I'm no hero, Muscular" Midoriya replied.
"Well, I'm gonna have fun beating you to a pulp" Muscular said punching his own palm.
"Good luck beating me while constantly missing due to poor depth perception" Midoriya jokingly said pointing at Muscular's artificial eye.
Kota nearly burst into laughter at Midoriya's comment, but was too afraid of what he is looking at. The murderer of his parents.
"You're gonna pay for that, kid!" Muscular exclaimed as he brought his fist down on Midoriya. Midoriya dodged at the last second and got behind Muscular, drawing his dart gun and shot a purple syringe into the back of his neck. Muscular felt the sting, but instantly fell unconscious.
Kota was surprised that someone so big was taken out so quickly.
"How did you do that?!" asked Kota.
"Knock out dart. Strong stuff. They are meant for elephants and I thought as I looked at this maniac, I'm gonna need an elephant to take him down" Midoriya said putting his dart gun away.
"Come on, lets get you back to your aunt" Midoriya said as he put Kota on his shoulder and ran back to the campsite.
The trees in the distance started burning with blue flames and Midoriya stopped by the campsite to drop Kota off and set out again to find the rest of the students.
Midoriya found some of class 1B and assisted them against their attackers, but he saw a high end Nomu fighting Yaoyorozu and a boy from class 1B with a weld quirk, Yosetsu Awase. Both of them were having no luck in taking down the Nomu.
Midoriya advanced as soon as he could but as soon as he saw the Nomu hurt Yaoyorozu, he lost it.
He activated his Nullifier and hit the Nomu with a barrage of attacks, using everything he had. Even going as far as using his new Amputator, a blade that materializes from the wrist of his arm. Nothing worked on the Nomu and Midoriya just retreated with Awase and Yaoyorozu.
"I'm sorry... that Nomu is impenetrable..." Midoriya said while catching his breath.
"It's alright, besides. That Nomu will be more useful to us alive" said Yaoyorozu.
Yep, we got a way to track down the League now" Awase said as he pointed to the Nomu's leg revealing a tracker welded onto its skin.
Midoriya started laughing. "Yaoyorozu. You are a genius" he said.
Yaoyorozu blushed after hearing Midoriya's compliment.
"Come on. Lets go find the others" Midoriya said while walking towards the last known location of Bakugo and Todoroki.
"But... your Nullifier, it shuts down your system if you keep it on too long" Yaoyorozu said with a concerned look.
"Don't worry. I have a few more minutes to spare" said Midoriya.
The three of them searched for more students and came across Todoroki, Tokoyami and Shoji with the villains responsible for the attack.
The black haired man with burns all over his body held Bakugo by the neck while he started retreating into the black mist.
When Midoriya got closer, the mist disappeared and Midoriya connected a right hook to the villain's jaw.
He knocked down all of them, but had a little bit of trouble with the girl with the knife.
Bakugo, Todoroki, Shoji, and Tokoyami could only watch as Midoriya beat the hell out of them on his own, but that moment was short lived as Midoriya not only had his entire system shut down, but because the Nullifier was on for much longer than usual, the tech in his body short circuited, rendering Midoriya unconscious.
The black mist reappeared and the villains retreated as quickly as possible.
Everyone was fine, except for Midoriya and Yaoyorozu, who had to be rushed back to the hospital in the city.
Training camp has officially ended for the UA students and the villains have disappeared without a trace.
The next day...
All Might and a detective visited Yaoyorozu in her bay in the hospital.
She gave them the tracking device she created that allows All Might to track the Nomu she fought, while not saying anything about Midoriya's attempt to help.
Every time she heard Midoriya's name, she cringed a bit, trying to hide her concern for him.
When Yaoyorozu was able to leave her bay, she payed the unconscious Midoriya a visit.
His arm was removed from his body and his eyes and neck were bandaged. His tech was being repaired, while he was left to regain his consciousness.
Yaoyorozu was finally able to spend some alone time with Midoriya, even if he could not hear her speak.
"Izuku?" Yaoyorozu said to see if Midoriya would respond in any way.
"I-I know you may not be able to hear me, but..." Yaoyorozu paused and took a seat on Midoriya's hospital bed and put his left hand in hers.
"There has been something I've been meaning to say... I couldn't come up with the words before, and I didn't really know what I felt when we first interacted with each other... but now I do. I-..." Yaoyorozu's eyes started to tear up.
She hugged Midoriya before carrying on. "I love you, Izuku! I was afraid of saying it because I don't know if you feel the same way. You've always been there for me and you're always so cool. I..." Yaoyorozu said as she buried her face in Midoriya's chest.
"Please... just come back to me..." she said.
The only sounds in the room were the heart rate monitor and Yaoyorozu sobbing on Midoriya's chest. She felt a hand fall on her back and she looked up to see Midoriya with a smile on his face. Midoriya tried to say something, but he could only mouth the words back to Yaoyorozu: "I love you too".
Yaoyorozu cried tears of joy, knowing that Midoriya was still fine. Doc came into the room to escort Yaoyorozu back to her bay, while a few more doctors came back with Midoriya's tech, ready to be put back.
A few days later...
Yaoyorozu payed Midoriya a visit. He was watching the news of All Might victory against All for One. Midoriya still had bandages on his neck, but other than that, he was almost ready to get back on his feet.
"Hey, Izuku. How are you feeling?" asked Yaoyorozu.
"I'm alright. How about you? Are you okay?" Midoriya asked calmly as Yaoyorozu gets comfortable next to him.
"Never better" she replied.
"So All Might retired huh?" Midoriya said breaking the calm silence.
"It's kind of sad to see him in that state" Yaoyorozu added while looking at the television showing the image of All Might in his weak form.
"Well, he's still All Might. The way he looks doesn't change what I think of him" Midoriya said.
Midoriya and Yaoyorozu sat silently in the bay.
Both of them were ready to leave the hospital and they went back to their normal lives. Only this time, Yaoyorozu and Midoriya were much closer to each other than ever.
