It was class 1B's turn to have Midoriya assist as field doctor. Midoriya met with Vlad King, class 1B's home room teacher, in Gym Gamma.
"Afternoon, Vlad King" Midoriya said greeting the tall man.
"Afternoon, Dr. Midoriya" Vlad King replied.
"Just Midoriya is fine" Midoriya said.
Midoriya's hair was more neat than usual, and his pony tail is now braided, however, his eye is still covered by the small fringe. He was wearing his Battle Medic suit and his dart gun sticking out from the side of the trench coat.
"They're here" Vlad King said as he and Midoriya stood to face class 1B.
Class 1B greeted Vlad King, but were surprised to see Midoriya with him.
"Hey, Dr. Midoriya! You remember me don't you?" Awase said greeting Midoriya first.
"Yeah, I remember you Awase, how are you?" Midoriya replied.
"Just a few bruises from that big guy, but I'm alright" Awase said as he approached Midoriya.
"Vlad, why is Dr. Midoriya here?" Itsuna Kendo asked Vlad King.
"This is a safety precaution, you will be working on your ultimate moves and Dr. Midoriya is here to help" Vlad King explained to the class.
"Huh, and I thought he was a field doctor exclusively to class 1A, maybe he finally realized who is more superior..." Monoma said before being cut off by a chop to the shoulder from Kendo's Big Fist.
"Besides, this is a good chance for me to get to know you guys better" Midoriya said.
A few hours have passed as class 1B were working on their ultimate moves. Midoriya casually stood by listening to music through his headphones while carefully analyzing each student's quirks and recording what he sees with his own eyes.
"Your arm can do a lot of things, right?" Vlad King asked Midoriya.
"Uh, yeah" Midoriya replied awkwardly wondering where that question came from.
"What can your eyes do?" Vlad King asked.
"Well, to put it simply, there is an interface that only I can see, I can record what I'm seeing through my eyes at any time so I can recall some events that I've experienced, and I can use my eyes to sense changes in body language" Midoriya explained.
"So almost like a lie detector?" Vlad King added.
"Sort of..." Midoriya replied.
"Very useful technology you have, would be great to have a hero with caliber like yours" Vlad King commented.
Midoriya nearly shuddered at the thought of him being a hero, he has abandoned the dream long ago.
"I don't have any intention of becoming a hero, Vlad King. I'm just here, where I belong" Midoriya replied.
Vlad King wore a confused look on his face.
Midoriya put the headphones back on. Vlad was able to hear a faint sound of heavy metal playing through the headphones.
Midoriya sees a student having some trouble working on her ultimate move.
"It seems as if Ms. Tokage is having some problems over there" Midoriya said as he pointed to a now tired Setsuna Tokage.
"I'll go see to it..." Vlad King said before being cut off by Midoriya.
"Allow me to help" Midoriya said as he walked towards Tokage on the elevated platform in front of him.
Vlad King was surprised that Midoriya was doing more than being a field doctor on standby.
Midoriya reached Tokage sitting on the floor taking heavy breaths.
"Are you alright?" Midoriya calmly asked Tokage.
"Eek! Oh... It's just you" Tokage said getting a fright.
"Uh, yeah... I'm fine... but I can't think of anything for my ultimate move. Everything I tried earlier was either too much for me or too boring" Tokage explained.
"Fortunately, I can help you with that" Midoriya said.
Tokage is confused to how Midoriya can help.
"Your quirk, Lizard Tail Splitter, what is the maximum amount of pieces you can split your body into?" Midoriya asked.
"Around 50 pieces, but even then it can get a little difficult for me to manage them" Tokage replied shyly.
"The best way to create an ultimate move is knowing your own strengths and weaknesses, the ability to manipulate each piece of your body is your strength, but the fact that without your quirk, you would be helpless is your weakness. Thinking outside the box would accommodate for that weakness. You don't need to base your entire ultimate move on your quirk" Midoriya explained to a dumbstruck Tokage.
"So I shouldn't use my quirk for my ultimate move?" Tokage asked Midoriya.
"No, you'll have to, but just take a few techniques that does not require a quirk to be effective and combine it with your quirk. Take Martial Arts for example, nobody needs a quirk to learn the multitude of techniques it has to offer, your quirk allows you to reach further, turning your body into multiple projectiles. Combining Martial Arts with splitting your body will give you the kind of reach no one else has" Midoriya explained.
"The problem with that is, I don't know much Martial Arts" Tokage replied to Midoriya.
Midoriya cracked a smile.
"If you want, I can teach you. Same goes for any other student who wants it" Midoriya said.
"That would be great! Thanks Dr. Midoriya" Tokage exclaimed.
"Just Midoriya is fine, I take it you know have an idea of what to do for your ultimate move?" Midoriya asked.
"Yep, and with your help, I can perfect it" Tokage replied.
"Are you sure you can take the burden of teaching the students Martial Arts in your spare time?" Vlad King asked Midoriya as he got back to his original position.
"Yeah, if they need the extra training, I will be glad to provide them with the skills they need to succeed" Midoriya said.
Meanwhile...
"Here it is, the full copy that should help you" Doc said to a member of the Shie Hassaikai.
"Thank you for your cooperation" The man said before leaving the meeting spot.
The man with the files that were given to him by Doc handed them to Chisaki.
"This is better than the plan I had in mind. Let pull both of our ideas together and see the results" Chisaki said to himself as he paced his room looking at the files.
"Sir, do you think we can use this? it just looks like a prosthetic arm" said one of Chisaki's henchmen.
"Maybe, but whoever has this arm has something we can make use of, this is no ordinary prosthetic, the arm was made for medical purposes as well as non-lethal self defense. However, the key component that I want to replicate in a much larger scale..." Chisaki explained to his henchman as he takes his index finger and points to a blueprint.
"... Is this. The Nullifier. It sends out a shockwave which interrupts the quirk factor, rendering anyone within the range useless" Chisaki said finishing his sentence.
"If we're going to make this Nullifier in a much larger scale, it seems we need a way to send the shockwave out, according to these blueprints, it works similar to a radio signal..." Chisaki thought to himself.
"Sir, if the Nullifier does what you say it does, won't we also be affected by it if we use it against the heroes?" the henchman asked.
"That is true, so we'll have to somehow control whose quirks will be erased and whose quirks won't. As for fighting the heroes with this, I don't intend to use it for that" Chisaki explained.
"If things go south, this will give use the edge we need" Chisaki said staring out the window.
The next day...
Midoriya was getting ready to train a few students in the basics of his personal martial arts techniques on the side.
He waited for the group of students who asked for his help in a park not too far from the UA dorms.
The students arrived at the location, the group consisted of Setsuna Tokage, Manga Fukidashi, Pony Tsunotori, Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, and Nirengeki Shoda.
"Afternoon everyone" Midoriya said waving his right hand at the students.
"Afternoon Dr... uh, Midoriya" Tokage said correcting herself.
"Now, all of you have an idea of your ultimate moves and they require a certain level of skill in martial arts. I'll teach you what I know and you will apply that in conjunction with your quirks" Midoriya explained.
Midoriya laid down a mat on the floor which will be used as a ring.
"So, who wants to go first?" Midoriya asked.
"I've been waiting for a chance to spar with you!" Tetsutetsu exclaimed as he rushed in front of Midoriya onto the mat.
"Perfect. Now. Surprise me, Tetsutetsu" Midoriya said challenging him.
Tetsutetsu activated his quirk and his skin turned into shiny metal. He charged at Midoriya throwing a flurry of punches.
Midoriya dodged each one as he observes Tetsutetsu's fighting style.
"So, you rely on your brute strength to overwhelm your opponents, interesting. However, that can be easily countered" Midoriya said as he grabbed Tetsutetsu's fist with his right hand.
Midoriya pulled him closer and landed a left uppercut on Tetsutetsu's left armpit and followed with a left elbow strike to the elbow joint. Tetsutetsu felt numb in his left arm.
"What the- How did you do that?!" Tetsutetsu said holding his left arm.
"Pressure points and the joints are the most common weak spots on any human being. Take that into account when throwing your barrage of punches" Midoriya said as he straightened himself out of his fighting stance.
"Tetsutetsu, you are simply throwing punches without accurately aiming for your opponent's weak spots. Try to continuously switch from a flurry of punches to calculated punches aimed at weak spots such as the joints. It makes you unpredictable while not giving your opponents a chance to effectively counter" Midoriya explained.
Tetsutetsu acknowledged his flaw and retired back to the group.
Next was Pony and she had a quirk which allowed her to shoot her horns from her head and control them as well. Midoriya noted that she would be fine in long range combat, but weaker when she is up close and personal with her opponents.
Midoriya taught her the same technique that he taught Yaoyorozu at training camp, it took Pony longer to get the feel of it, but she eventually got it right.
While Midoriya was helping the next three, Pony and Tetsutetsu were practicing their new moves on each other.
"You're simply lacking in the strength department, but your quirk can help you work your way around that weakness, just try to work on reaction time and speed" Midoriya said to Shoda.
"Okay, but... how do I do that?" Shoda asked Midoriya.
"Well, there is a way to see your progress of speed and reaction time, but it's not certain that it will work for everyone. For now, practice dodging. Next time I'll introduce you to the speed test" Midoriya said.
This time, it was Manga's turn and it was very easy for Midoriya to see that he doesn't have experience in fighting, he lets his quirk do the work for him.
"Without your quirk, you are basically in the same boat as I was. For you, Manga, all you need is good old fashioned speed and strength. In a few days, I will put together a speed test so that you can improve your reaction times, maybe then you will be able to block my attacks, or even dodge them" Midoriya explained to Manga.
"Uh, how intense will the speed test be?" Manga asked Midoriya.
"It depends on how you can catch up with me" Midoriya replied.
Manga and Shoda both worked on dodging each other's punches while it was finally Tokage's turn.
Tokage made the first move and threw a right jab at Midoriya and he blocked the punch. While Midoriya was holding Tokage's arm, she split her fist from her arm and turned it around and hit Midoriya on the back of his head. Midoriya stumbled closer to Tokage and she slammed him into the ground.
The rest of the group was surprised that Tokage was able to pin Midoriya to the ground so easily.
"Nice. So you got the idea" Midoriya said as he pushed himself off the ground and landed back on his feet.
"After watching the others, I understood what you were hinting at" Tokage said with a confident look on her face.
"Good thinking, Tokage. You have the ability to use your knowledge of hand-to-hand combat at any range. One more thing that you can capitalize on is splitting parts of your body that your opponent is aiming at just before they connect and reconstruct those parts after their attacks go through the gap you made. It's another way of dodging, but without moving your whole body" Midoriya explained to Tokage.
"Oh... I know what you mean" Tokage said.
"Remember, a little bit at a time. Don't strain your body" Midoriya said as he got into his fighting stance.
For the past few hours, Manga and Shoda have been practicing dodging and blocking each other's attacks, Pony learned how to use her horns at close range to reposition her opponent further away from her, Tetsutetsu took note of every weak spot on the average human body and Tokage learned a variety of basic techniques to use in conjunction with her quirk as well as timing her splits with each punch Midoriya threw at her.
"The sun's about to set. Lets call it the day, everyone" Midoriya said as he packed up his equipment.
The six of them walked back to their dorms. Midoriya said his goodbyes to the students of class 1B as he entered the 1A dorms.
"Hey, Midoriya. Where have you been?" Kaminari asked as Midoriya entered the living room.
"I've been helping a few students from class 1B with their ultimate moves. They definitely needed some help, so I delivered" Midoriya explained.
Everyone was surprised that Midoriya will go as far as helping more than one class with their problems.
"Class 1B as well? You really do a lot for us..." Tenya said to Midoriya.
"It's like I said: It's not in my job description, but I will personally make it a part of what I do here" Midoriya said as he made himself some tea.
Midoriya went to his room without saying another word and finished his tea.
Midoriya suddenly felt like there is something bad about to happen, but nothing did. He just went to sleep wondering why he feels like he is about to be put through hell again. Soon, he will see that he was right.
