The smell of food and coffee wafted through his senses waking him. The alarm on his bedside table reflected 7:48 in the morning and he realized his guest was making breakfast. He sat in bed a while thinking about the prior night. Was it just him or was Katsuki actually giving him the eyes? I mean, he was an open book and totally positive that his flustered, reactive nature was easily read, but only because he was so openly, and yes, definitely showing interest.
Is this what his clients felt when they finally met their special person? This aloof, whimsical air in your belly... like dancing butterflies. He felt them fluttering through his body and it made him giddy. He broke out into a smile as he slipped out of bed. He used the bathroom, freshened up quickly and slid into a pair of satin onyx pajama pants. He contemplated wearing a shirt but he never did in the morning, why should he change his routine. It was his home afterall. Walking towards the kitchen, Izuku peaked around the corner of the hall and watched with amusement as Katsuki had music playing low and was humming and bobbing his head as he made... was that french toast? It smelled incredible. Extra scrambled eggs were made and the oven emitted a little bit of smoke. Bacon. The pale blond spikes of hair moved with his dancing and as a guitar wailed. Spatula in hand, he bent his leg, and leaned forward banging his head up and down as though he was playing guitar. His fingers pretending as though he was strumming and then he was drumming in the air with the change of tempo. Each hand was in the air, wrist moving back and forth. It was such a cute sight and he was so glad he witnessed it. His cheeks tinted at the feeling in his body. The feeling that coursed through his veins. The blond stopped performing and opened the oven to check his food and sure enough, layers of bacon were neatly spread side by side on a baking sheet. He grabbed a towel that Izuku hadn't noticed laying over his shoulders, folded it and took the baking sheet out of the oven and turned it off.
His mouth watering, he moved forward, coughing a little to make noise as he rounded the corner into the kitchen. He didn't want to startle his guests.
"Good morning Katsuki."
Ruby eyes flicked up, finally noticing him and he let out a whistle while his eyes flicking over Izuku's bare chest to his waist and back up. He immediately blushed and the hair on Izuku's arms and body broke out into a shiver and he couldn't help that both of his nipples hardened. Of course those dark eyes caught it and his face took on a predatory smirk, Okay now he was slightly embarrassed. He definitely didn't mean for his body to react without his permission but, that unmistakable pull was extremely hard to resist.
He coughed a little and tried to force his raging blush to go away.
"Y-you like to cook?" He tried to make small talk and not notice that the man in his kitchen was still smirking at him with those dark eyes looking straight into his soul.
"I guess I do."
Katsuki walked to a cabinet and pulled two plates out, making them both a plate. He watched with interest at how perfect he seemed to decorate their plate of food. Mugs were already sitting out and the delicious waft of coffee invaded his senses as it was being poured into the stoneware. Picking both plates up he walked them over to the small dining table that sat four, and placed both plated across from each other. He walked to one of the chairs pulled it out, and gave Izuku a pointed stare that clearly said, 'Come here and sit now.'
Light pink tinting his cheek, he picked up both mugs and brought them with, setting them down on the table. He silently looked into Katsuki's eyes as he sat into the chair, not breaking contact. Why the hell was this so romantic already? Was this his intention or was this just him swooning so quick already? He'd never swooned before, he'd never really liked anyone before and it was such a strange and foreign feeling. He wasn't sure he was even processing this properly yet.
"Milk and cream?"
"Yes, both please." He responded in a whisper almost in a trance like state as his ruby eyed guest brought over the extra ingredients.
"Y'know. Staring is hella rude in most places." That snapped him out of it and he began to sputter, knowing he was totally busted.
"Uh heheh, eeh sorry this is so s-strange. I don't invite many people here very much and having you in my home is still-"
"Nerd shaddup. I know it's fuckin weird. Just accept it."
"How did you know french toast was my favorite?"
Katsuki's eyes widened a little and he snickered. "I didn't. I just like it too and you had the ingredients."
Izuku blushed. "I love french toast. I love breakfast food, anytime of the day." He received a 'Good to know' reply as a fork, napkin and spoon were laid down at each setting. Again they stared at each other. Katsuki's deep gaze held some unknown emotion and his own gaze, well, like he said, open book. He nodded and motioned for Izuku to eat and they did.
Izuku, swallowing food, looked around his kitchen. "How did you know exactly where to find the kitchen? It's like you've been here before."
"A once friend of mine had a place on the other end of this stretch. They're all built pretty similar." Katsuki looked around, "Your personality in here, it's so... alive."
Izuku about inhaled his scrambled eggs and coughed a little, drinking some of his coffee to help him wash it down. He cleared his throat and continued to sneak glances at the incredibly handsome boy sitting across him.
"Thank you. It's my escape." They ate the rest of breakfast in silence, both sneaking glances at each other and when they were done Izuku began to pick up. Katsuki joined and they finished washing and drying dishes and cleaning the kitchen up side by side.
"That was really delicious. Thank you Ka-Katsuki." He blushed at the way the name caught in his throat.
"Izuku," His voice was low and deep.
"Y-yes?"
"Look at me."
Already stained cheeks looked up into the awaiting red eyes, that were smoldering just like he thought they'd be.
A breath caught in Izuku's throat as long slender fingers swept across his cheek, His eyes drifted shut and he heard the way the other boy's breath heightened. His eyes drifted shut and he softly pressed his cheek into the now open palm that cupped him.
He felt the fire in his veins before a face flashed beneath his closed eyes and let out a huge gasp. His hands shot up and he gripped the hand that cupped his face and panted. Another man's face just appeared in his mind like an explosion from nowhere. He let out shallow breaths of air and looked down at the hands that he was tightly gripping and stopped breathing when on Katsuki's second hand, on his pinkie, another glowing red thread began to form.
"Wh-What? I don't understand." He watched in awe as he too formed another glowing thread on his other pinkie as well. There was a burning intensity in his fist for the need to capture the image he saw. His quirk was itching to draw the face.
"What the fuck was that? I saw that shit too." he heard the other man bark out.
Izuku stared at him, digesting his words. They both saw the same person? And they both had a second thread. Since his quirk manifested he had never encountered anyone had two threads. Not only that, no one else was able to see his images. So why was Katsuki able to see not only himself, but also the image of the person who was possibly connected to their new threads?
He was being lightly jostled around and he came to.
"You're muttering a bunch of incoherent shit about quirks, Nerd."
"Oh! I'm sorry, this is new. I've never encountered this with my quirk. Did you see a man with white and red hair?" He asked.
"With one grey and one turquoise eye?"
Izuku nodded. "I'm so confused Katsuki... you have two threads."
Now it was the other boys time to turn pink and share his confusion.
"What the hell do you mean by that?"
They both looked down at their joined hands. Izuku separated them, changing the way they held hands to having each hand hold it's counterpart.
He looked at his right hand holding Katsuki's left. He blushed as he entwined their fingers. Katsuki's eyes growing wide at the bold move. Izuku swallowed the lump in his throat, meeting those widened eyes.
"Our threads here are connected. I can see how bright it glows." He lifted his right hand holding Katsuki's left one. "You have another thread here." He traced the glowing thread on the other pinkie. "And I have another one here." His eyes intently looking from left and right hands.
"And I can see them stretching away from us but... they're wrapped around each other leading away."
He began muttering his theories to himself and Katsuki had to scoff at how scatter brained the freckled boy was.
"I think... I think we each have another soulmate... or we share the same one..." pause. "Three of us?"
The question in his eyes brought him back to the heat that building in his fist.
"Come, watch." Moving he tugged the curious garnet eyed boy with him to his desk that housed a sketch pad and paper and began to draw the boy they both envisioned. Upon finishing, they both stared at the image of the rather handsome, but serious looking man... man. It was another man. He knew he liked men, but the Universe must have known as well.
He blushed again and looked into the dark eyes staring intently at the image.
"This is the first time I've ever seen him. I've always seen you." Katsuki said breaking his stare and looking to Izuku. "I know who this is."
"What! Really?!" shining green eyes locked looking into red ones. Katsuki nodded with a frown not liking the hopeful look he saw.
"He also has a quirk but lives his life in relative solitude. He prefers to stay out of the light."
They paused weighing what that news meant.
"So are we all suppose to like what? Fuck each other or something?"
Izuku turned into a flaming tomato at the words, jerking his hands into his chest with shyness. "W-wh-what-whatdoyoumean? Idon'tthinkit'sallaboutthat."
"Relax Deku." His face softened from the animalistic grin he had given him before saying that. "Just a damn joke."
"Deku?"
Now Katsuki looked away with a blush. " Yeah. I don't know. It fits you... like you can do anything if you wanted." He didn't dare look back after saying something so... "Ugh that was so fucking corny."
Izuku laughed out loud and it simmered into a light giggle. "It wasn't corny. At all. Thank you. And you're right. We can, can't we?"
"I went to a conference one time with a company that hired me for some demolition work. He must have been hired as well. One of the people there told me a little bit about him."
Izuku looked around nervously. "Do we try to find him?"
Katsuki locked eyes with him. He could see the matched uncertainty swirling in his eyes.
"What if we let it come naturally? Like us."
He had a point. The way this man walked into his life overnight was a sure sign that things would pan out naturally. He nodded in agreement and let out a puff of breath he didn't know he was holding. His uncertainty of how his quirk worked was fastly gnawing at him. The new image was definitely gnawing even more. Katsuki must have been able to tell and asked if he could stay into the afternoon to continue 'getting to know' who I was.
Hours later and he summarized that he was definitely swooned. Katsuki brought to life what he never realized he had. He always felt dull compared to others, but right now, he felt brighter than the sun. They talked all morning into the afternoon and Izuku was so very thankful that he met him. They threw a million questions at each other getting to know one another and by 3 o clock Izuku's stomach was rumbling as they sat on the couch watching a random movie.
"Wanna go out for lunch?"
"Yeah, I like that idea."
"And then later this weekend I'm going to take you on a date." It was matter of fact and spoken with finality. Izuku really admired his strong attitude, gruff nature, foul mouth and completely sexy appearance.
Blushing he nodded
"I think I would like that a lot."
They're so cute I sweaaaaar! * dies *
After having to wait so long to meet Izu, Bakuboy is wasting no time!
I had to really decide if I wanted to keep it just BakuDeku but... I really just want Todo too.
myself – why not have them both?
s
! I've been thinking about a name change. I like how Threads of Fate sounds, because it highlights Izuku's quirk... but what do you think about it being called The 15? Having a play on the fact that the 15% are more special than everyone else instead of just Izuku?
let me know your thoughts in your review.
