Katsuki
The event every year was so damn boring but he always attended. The drinks were always decent and food was very well prepared. Even he, the pickiest mother fucker alive enjoyed the arrangement of food the party always had. The hostess herself exceeded expectations by having nothing but the best with her expensive tastes. What the hell else was he going to do? He had some left over paperwork he needed to finish for the last job that was completed, and he also had some documents needed for the official release of the wine he decided to produce and manufacture. It was his baby project on his downtime while he was taking it for once. He was in his what he could call his off season where he didn't take too many jobs and focused more on himself. As part of the 15 he was able to fully be in control of what he did for work. The 15. He hated the stupid title the world gave them. Yeah sure, it had its perks, but he hated that people looked at him differently, idolized him like he was something to fawn over. It was just annoying. It did have it's benefits and as contradictory as it seemed, he took full advantage of the opportunities it provided him.
Sighing, the blond ruffled his hair and called the driver. He had been ready for a while now but was just lazing around his home finding excuses to be late, like paperwork. He'd already had his wine delivered earlier and just needed to show up. Near the end of the event, the hostess always did a welcome speech to all attendees and thanked us for being 'us' and overcoming the 'obstacles' they had overcome as a new generational species. It was a similar speech every year, but she always highlighted the newest people invited, as well as showcasing newest ideas and creations from within; such as his wine. By no means did he need the exposure, but this was his very first exclusive wine tasting of sorts to find out if what he created was a mag-fucking-nificent as he thought it was.
Grabbing his mask, he locked up and made his way to driver who'd just pulled up to his home and headed to the event. The drive was long and boring, but thank god, the man commandeering the SUV allowed him to connect his bluetooth and relax to melodic flow of the heavy metal music.
He'd been enjoying the evening so far, occasionally plucking at the passing hors d'oeuvres, with a glass or two of crisp, bubbly champagne. He'd already made his rounds of greetings to his friends and some of the acquaintances he'd met along the way right upon entering. His best friend, of sorts, Eijiro was engaged in conversation with some of their mutual friends but he just wasn't feeling the vibe right now to mingle. He showed up to support Momo and the release of his wine. Selfish but he didn't give a damn about making new connections, and definitely didn't give two shits about half of the building at the moment. He would admit that the majority of those attending were all really goddamned good people. Momo didn't invite just anyone to her gatherings here, she sought the most kind, caring and brightest quirk bearers. How the fuck he, Katsuki, made it on her list absolutely blew his mind. Literally. He wasn't very nice, kind of a dickhead, but he also wasn't into it for all the money, status and fame as some were.
His invite came after he and a co-worker somehow helped 17 miners escape to safety after the entrance caved in. He was on the job and the vibrations carried much further than he expected. He was commissioned with a colleague he'd done work with several times, as their quirks went hand in hand. He fulminated and the later was able to soak up vibrations. The man was mute and was able to determine specifics with the vibrations that people and the world itself radiated. Living and nonliving objects all had some sort of vibration frequency. He was able to null out any vibrations caused by his explosions nearly up 2 miles from the detonation area. As they traveled they needed to make bursts smaller and smaller to avoid any cave ins. One of the workers was not properly checking the natural gas gauges and it caused a small burst radiate into a much larger one, thus having the vibrations carry further than anyone was able to prepare for. They were hella lucky the entire mine shaft didn't collapse. He might have been the only one able to survive it using extreme explosions to the surface, but then everyone else would have died. Thankfully no one was injured and only the entrance had been destroyed. It was an easy and safe rescue. He didn't want any limelight but was instead bombarded with the news of his 'heroism'. Pfft. It was all a load of shit and lucky cards.
He was enjoying the atmosphere until every hair on his body seemed to erect and stand on edge. A wave of something washed over him and he suddenly felt as though someone was watching him, breathing around him. He snuck small glances around him and surveyed the area, eyes narrowed through his mask. His heart was jumping out of his chest right now and warmth spread through him like the slow rise and build of steam in a sauna.
He's had this feeling before. The sound of broken glass caused him to slightly jolt out of his stunned place. A few people looked behind him and he mimicked them to check the fuss of a loud man speaking. The only thing he noticed upon looking at the scenario was the green locks gelled and curled behind a strange red mask.
The fuck?
The image of the bright emerald eyed boy with freckles, pink cheeks and beautiful smile burned into the back of his eyes as he stared down the finely dressed man behind the rabbit mask. He remembered the studio. His face was soft but he could tell the man was strong. A little bit shorter than he maybe, but he was solid and stocky. The suit fit him very well and had to be tailored especially for him as it hugged his body and muscles perfectly. Someone knocked his drink out of his hands and was apologizing profusely. He walked to the corner of a table and had to sit down for a second to catch his breath.
There was no fucking way.
He saw the stranger look straight to the spot he had just been standing and Katsuki gaped a little.
Are you fucking kidding me?
He could feel it too.
Years. It had been years that he would dream of that face when he slept. Not always, but it was often. He knew deep down in his thundering chest the man behind the rabbit mask was definitely the emerald eyed man he'd been dreaming about. The one he saw in the art studio once. The way his instinct flared up and made all the hair on his body tense up, his rapid heart beat. There was no way to explain the strange sensation he was currently feeling. It was coursing through his veins like fire, but it wasn't a dangerous fire. It was so fucking warm and enveloping. It was comfortable as fuck and swathed the hardness in his soul. It wasn't like this before. This was different, but why?
What in the fuck. Never was he dazed and confused but here he sat like a fuckwit, dazed and confused. Gathering his senses like a normal fucking person, his deep ruby eyes scanned the area and found them at the mostly hidden bar he enjoyed to get drinks from. He watched the converse lightly and he smirked when the bartender poured the green haired man a glass of a very familiar wine. The second the man left his side his feet were moving on their own toward the man who was swirling and smelling the wine. He brought the glass to his nose, sniffed and took a sip. His pride swelled he saw the bright smile. It was the same smile and further proved it really was the same person. His internal grin raged as the man took a bigger sip with a bigger smile. Walking around him, he meant to tap him on the shoulder and say hello but he suddenly turned around just as he approached.
Green and Red clashed together. Knowing flashed through both their eyes as they took each other in and began to converse. Izuku was his name, and he was in love with his wine. That put a pleasant feeling in his chest, like pride almost.
Katsuki was not dumb. He'd searched this man up many times to see what his quirk was and he knew exactly what was going on. He was his destined soulmate. There's no other fucking reason they would be dreaming about each other, because he was damned sure the huge blush raging on Izuku's face was a clear indicator that he wasn't the only one dreaming about people.
"Give me your phone."
"Eeh-erm.. Okay."
Katsuki waited for him to unlock his phone and immediately put his name and number into his contacts, and also slipped in access to his location under his contact, and also put himself in as a favorite. He noticed no one else except Best Mom 3 was under favorites and he smirked, passing the phone back.
They spoke a little longer and when he said his name, and wished him a happy birthday, Izuku's wide eyes almost popped from his face.
Yeah, I've been doing my research too.
He could see Momo looking around and when she caught his eyes, he had to regretfully say goodbye to the man he would be seeing very very soon. After saying his goodbyes, he made his way to Momo and began discussing specifics. She was very interested in his wine, and apparently, the party was enthralled with it as well. He was a very proud man, but having the guests here all have positive reactions really made him feel good. He loved wine, and he always wanted to make one better than any one else's. A while into his conversation he noticed Izuku was speaking to larger man, and they hugged. A strange sense of jealousy overcame him at the joy in the words he was saying. He knew the stranger very well for him to become so animated.
He couldn't help himself as he watched the the man in the red rabbit mask, just be himself. He was enthralling. And then Izuku looked right at him, feeling the way Katsuki's eyes soaked him in from behind his red rams mask.
Katsuki watched him suddenly say his goodbyes and couldn't help but feel the overwhelming disappointment at the retreating body. Why was he leaving so soon? There was still a whole party to be had and he was leaving already. It was hard to concentrate on anything else after seeing Izuku leave. His chest was tugging something deep within him and he decided he would follow the man home. He was no creeper, but he wasn't done with Izuku just yet tonight.
It was his birthday and he didn't get to take a bottle of his wine home with him.
Looks like he'd have to bring one for him.
