Chapter 8: The Entrance Exam
The day of the Entrance Exam was drawing near, and everyone was working hard to prepare themselves. Izuku and Ochako had weekly sparring sessions with their quirks while improving on their abilities. Izuku had also perfected a new type of fighting style which he dubbed Shoot Style.
With this technique, Izuku used his legs for strong attacks and movements in case his arms got tired. Ochako had also improved with her use of OFA. Instead of using it like All Might, she used it to increase the abilities of her quirk. She could now fly.
Meanwhile Ryu and Kendo were training together at the dojo, with Kendo helping Ryu increase his Ki techniques. She was proud of how well he was improving. After a few more weeks, the day had finally come.
Izuku was walking towards the main entrance of U.A
"This is it," Izuku said, "Today is the day where I take my first step in the shoes of a hero!"
He then tripped on a rock.
'I'm a failure. Sorry Mom. Sorry Dad. Sorry Ochako. Sorry everyone else. Man, I've been falling for a long time now.' He thought.
He began to realize that he was floating. However Ochako wasn't touching him this time. Because of OFA increasing her quirk, the fingerprints on her fingers were gone. It was almost as if she could make things float telepathically.
"I swear Ochako you'll make an amazing hero one day," Izuku said.
"Well looks like you'll make even more of a wife for me," Shinji said pulling Ochako close to him
However Ochako was quick and moved away.
"Nope, sorry but I already got me a man," Ochako said.
"Now listen here Round Face! I don't take no for an answe- GAH!" Teshi said as he felt heavier. MUCH heavier.
Izuku saw this and saw that the aura around Ochako's hand was dark pink with pink lightning streaks.
"Now back off unless you want my boyfriend to kick you in the ass. Literally."
"I WILL do it," Izuku said.
The two began to walk into the auditorium while holding hands. Ochako feeling a little playful decided to have some fun and smack Izuku's butt, making him yelp slightly.
"Sorry, couldn't resist," she said, "You got a firm ass."
Later on they were at the auditorium.
"ALRIGHT LISTENERS! IT'S TIME FOR THE UA ENTRANCE EXAM! CAN I GET A HEEEEEYYY!" Present Mic shouted. No one said anything. "Ahem. Tough crowd."
Izuku was ,uttering about how cool he looked.
"Chill your pill nerd," Katsuki said
PResent Mic ws explaining how the entrance exam would be going down. There were robots scattered across the city and defeating them would earn the examinees points.
" Excuse me sir! If I may say something! This pamphlet here shows four robots while the board shows three! If this is a mistake from UA then this is unacceptable! And you with the green unruly hair!"
"Wha, me?!" IZuku asked.
"You've been muttering this entire time! Stop that, it's distracting everyone around you! If you can't take this seriously then leave!"
"Maybe you should leave, because you're the one making a riot over one small mistake!" Katsuki said, "This kid right here is gonna make history by attending this school, so pay him some respect!"
"I... I won't argue with that... I shall take my seat. Please forgive me." The boy said, bowing and sitting back down.
"Anyway, I was gonna explain that last robot. It's just an obstacle that should be avoided." Present Mic said.
Izuku turned to Katsuki.
"Thanks Kaachan," he said.
Later on Izuku and company were at the city. They were stretching and getting ready for the portion of the exam.
"Excuse me," said someone.
It was the boy from earlier.
"I would like to apologize for my words from earlier. My name is Tenya Iida. I hope we can be well acquainted in the future."
"Don't let it get you you. I'm Izuku Yagi. Pleased to meet you!" Izuku said, ""This is Katsuki Bakugo my best friend, and this is Ochako Uraraka my girlfriend."
"Ah. I see. I would ask what your quirk is but I broke your focus long enough." Iida said.
"Well that's the thing," Izuku said, "I'm actually qui-"
"START!" Present Mic said
At that, everyone started running off, gathering points while Izuku was standing there with another boy with sunglasses on.
"I see your giving them a head start too?" The boy asked.
"Yea," he answered.
Izuku wasn't sure, but for some reason he could feel ki coming from the boy.
A few minutes earlier with Ryu and Kendo…..
Ryu and Kendo were walking through the area where they were assigned. Some kids were giving him strange looks.
"Ignore them," Kendo said
"I'm used to it. By the way, there's two more people who also use ki, and it feels like they're coming straight towards us." Ryu said.
Suddenly, the same boy with shades stopped between Ryu and Kendo.
"Hey there! You use ki too?" The boy with shades asked as he shot a robot with an energy blast without even looking at it. Then a green flash of light went past the three, looking for more robots.
"Yes, how did you know?" Ryu asked.
"I'm Tadashi, by the way. You better make it in cause it looks like we'll be the next big three, along with that broccoli head."
"Broccoli head... Yagi?" Ryu asked.
"So that's his name? Well, it looks like he uses a different type of ki." Tadashi said. They then heard a battle from above. They looked up to see a boy with eagle wings and lion ears. He threw robot parts at other robots, destroying them.
Ryu was looking around and seeing so many amazing people with quirks.
"Am I really meant to be here?" he asked.
Kendo approached her boyfriend and smiled.
"Ryu you're overthinking, and its preventing you from looking forward," she said, "If there are days where you can't look forward even when you should..."
She took his hand and placed it on her chest.
Someone saw it.
"Fuck she's bold,"
"Then look to your side, because you have people that will support you all the way," Kendo said, making him face her
Ryu smiled at her.
"Heh... thanks Kendo. I really needed that." He said.
Meanwhile with Izuku, he wasa going around pummling robots with his bare hands. He also shot a few ki blasts. Izuku decided to kick things up a notch. By focusing his ki, he made them look similar to Katsuki's explosions. He then threw them at a few faux villains earning him dozens of points.
He then grabbed a robot and started spinning it around, thus destroying even more robots. Izuku then used the ki to pull a robot towards him and smashed it into two. Inko saw this from the observation room.
"That looked like my quirk!" Inko said
"That boy's quirk is very fascinating," Midnight said.
"Oh that's the thing," Principal Nezu said, "He's quirkless."
Everyone with the exception of Inko was surprised by the news
"He's using Ki," Principal Nezu said.
"Wait, you know about Ki?" Gran Torino asked.
"Of course I know about ki. I've done years worth of research about quirks that I just so happen to come across ki." Nezu said.
"So that's how he's so strong," Midnight said, "Despite being quirkless he finds a way to be a hero! SUCH YOUTHFUL VIGOR TURNS ME ON!"
"Please stay as far away from my son as possible." Inko said to Midnight.
"I think they have potential," Aizawa said, "Actually there's another student who has something similar. In theory I've read that Ki can amplify an individual's quirk."
Back in the area, Izuku continued fighting off robots. He noticed Ochako using her quirk to the best of her abilities
'She's really doing her best!' Izuku thought. He then went up to her and destroyed a robot that was gonna attack from begind.
"Thanks for the save Deku!" Ochako said.
A bit of faint rumbling could be heard. "What was that?" Ochako asked.
"I don't know. But I feel like we're about to find out." Izuku said.
Everyone was looking at a behemoth of a robot. At the sight of the robot, they all started to run away, except for the power couple themselves as they looked at each other with a smirk on their faces.
"Team move?" Izuku asked.
"Team move," she answered
Ochako started to float while carrying Izuku.
"I'm not too heavy am I?" He asked
Ochako shook her head.
"Nothing is too heavy with my birth quirk!" Ochako said.
Everyone else was starting to run. Ryu saw kendo catching up to him. Acting quickly he started carrying her bridal style much to her surprise. Meanwhile, Ochako then threw Izuku in the air. He started to fall down channeling ki into his leg.
"Manchester... SMASH!"
He then flattened the head on the robot. The robots head was smashed in and the robot was falling down as it was starting to blow up. Izuku and Ochako floated down landing safely on the ground. Everyone was speechless by what they had just witnessed.
"They destroyed that robot!" Inko said.
"Not just that, look up." Aizawa said, pointing to the sky. "Whatever that team effort was, it cleared the sky of the clouds. That that 90 percent chance of rain went straight to zero."
"I'm assuming those two got in?" All Might asked with a smirk.
"You're the judge dear," Green magnet said
"Oh right. Heh heh. I forgot. I'm putting those two in your class. Word of warning, they're dating." All Might said.
"Fuck." Aizawa said.
Meanwhile with Izuku and Ochako…..
"That was the manliest thing I've ever seen!" Someone shouted
The two of them turned to see a red haired boy.
"Oh uh... hey!" Izuku said, nervously.
"Heya! I'm Eijiro Kirishima! That attack was so manly!" Kirishima said, with tears of admiration.
"I gotta say your dodging was like awesome!" A pink haired girl said, "I'm Mina Ashido, but please call me Mina."
Izuku noticed Kirishima had a few scrapes on him.
"Are you gonna be alright?" Izuku asked.
"Oh this, I'll be fine."
"Hold still," Izuku said.
His hand started to turn a light green as he touched the knee. The injury was starting to disappear. Recovery girl was watching this in shock.
"Holy crap! You have those energy blasts, strong punches and can heal people?! What kind of quirk do you have?!" Asked the red head.
With Ryu and Kendo, they were walking around.
"That was intense," Kendo said with a smile.
"Tell me about it," Ryu said.
"Ryu you were pretty cool out there," Kendo told him, "You're basically a human version of Fighter Kirby with those ranged attacks."
"Well I did get a few moves based off that copy ability, in addition to other fighter games and I also..."
Kendo smiled as she listened to his rambling. She then shut him up by seizing his lips with her own. They broke apart after a few seconds.
"You talk too much," she said.
