Jasper POV:

-Going to high school with the Cullens has always been dreadful. Having to deal with the emotions of hormonal teenagers, plus the added emotions of the Cullens, has always been overwhelming and almost painful. All the lust, envy, hate, pride, etc. Not mentioning hunger. Dealing with the hunger of teenagers starving themselves to try to look like the models in magazines, which never made sense to me, was manageable. Humans didn't feel as strongly as sups did, but I was dealing with quite a large group of humans and the Cullens' hunger as well. Which made it worse for they were already on a diet that left them unsatisfied, but also waited to feed till the last second. When they could no longer handle hunger without putting themselves and the humans around them in danger. It was annoying to deal with on a daily basis though, causing me to really hate high school. Not to mention the inaccuracies in the history taught…-

I was brought out of my thoughts when Evelyn took hold of my hand under our shared table in class. Looking into her beautiful amethyst with specks of amber eyes, as she smiled softly at me. -Just by the look on your face I can tell you hate having to deal with high school and all that goes with it. I do too, but now we have each other and will be there for each other through this hell. I also won't force you to do high school all over again after we graduate this time, like the Cullens. We can go to college, work or just travel the world. If we want to stay in a place longer I have an ability that will give the illusion of us aging.- She told me this through our link while giving my hand a reassuring squeeze.

-Thanks Darling, you make having to be here bearable. I can do anything as long as I have you at my side. Though I'm glad you won't want to do high school over and over. The thought of traveling the world with you sounds amazing, we will make many memories together and with your ability we can stay somewhere longer if we so wish. I also want to introduce you to Peter and Charlotte when we are done here in Forks.- I thought back to her while bringing our intertwined hand up to my lips placing a kiss upon Evelyn's knuckles.

-Even though I just met her last night, after sharing the memories of our lives with one another. It feels like I have known her all my life and having her in my life is unbelievable. It feels like my life was once black and white, colorless, with shades of grey. The moment she walked into it she had brought color with her, making my life colorful and vibrant. In so little time she has captured my heart completely and changed my life for the better.-

3rd Person POV:

The bell for lunch had just rong, Evelyn and Jasper packed away their things. Jasper took his mate's backpack, like the gentleman he is, hooking their arms around one another heading to the lunchroom. -If it wasn't for modern technology and fashion. I would think I was back in my time taking a stroll with Evelyn. It makes me wonder what life would have been like if I had met her as a human.- Jasper couldn't help but to imagine Evelyn in an 1860's dress. -Why are you staring at me like that cowboy?- Evelyn thought to Jasper, after seeing him smiling at her. -Just what it would have been like if I had met you as a human and what you would look like dressed in the attire of my time.- Jasper thought back to her. -Well I didn't live in the 1860's in other worlds or this one, but you are in luck. As Renee had Bella and I dress up at a reenactment with her because she was dating a Civil War fanatic at the time. Would you like to see the memory of it- She asked him in her mind with a cheeky smile on her face. Then sent Jasper the memory through their link after he nods quickly at the thought of seeing what Evelyn would have looked like back then.

Jasper's breath hitched at the sight of her, if he was a human his heart would be trying to beat right out of his chest. -You look so beautiful darling. If I had met you as a human I would have probably made a fool of myself, just at a chance to court you and make you mine.- Jasper said through their link with a look full of love and awe. Evelyn couldn't help, but blush at Jasper's adoration. -Well if you were as charming then as you are now, then I would have definitely accepted your offer of courtship… Now enough making me blush let's get to the cafeteria, I am hungry.- Students and teachers alike stopped what they were doing and stared as Jasper smirked as a blushing Evelyn pulled him along the hallways towards the cafeteria.

In the cafeteria, Bella had just sat down at Mike's and Jessica's table where Eric was already sitting. "Hey Mikey, have you met my home girl Bella." Eric asked cheerfully. "Your home girl?" Mike asked incredulously. Then Bella felt someone kiss her cheek. "My girl." Tyler said cheekily as he pulled Mike's chair out from under him. "Sorry, I had to mess up your game Mike!" Tyler called over his shoulder as he ran off. Once Mike got up off the floor he chased after Tyler. "Oh my God, it's like first grade all over again and you're the shiny new toy." Jessica said with a fake smile on her face, obviously jealous. If only she knew that Bella did not enjoy the attention. "Smile." Angela said cheerfully. Next thing Bella knew she was being blinded by a flash of light. "Sorry, I needed a candid for the feature." Angela told Bella and before Bella could say anything Eric came up to them. "Feature is dead Angela, don't bring it up again. I got your back baby." Eric said, patting Bella's shoulder then walking away.

"I guess we can do an editorial on teen drinking…" Angela said with disappointment apparent in her voice. "You know you can always go for eating disorders.. Speedo padding on the swim team??" Bella suggested to cheer her up. Which made Angela perk up saying "Actually that's a good one." "Kirk, right? That's exactly what I thought." Jessica added feeling left out. "We are talking about Olympic size." Angela joked. "There is no way since he is so skinny, it doesn't make sense." Jessica giggled out, Angela nodded agreeing with Jessica and giggled with her. Bella was glad she could cheer Angela up after disappointing her about the feature, but that was all forgotten as she caught sight of a group of pale and quite beautiful teenagers coming towards the lunchroom doors.

"Who are they?" Bella asked them. Angela and Jessica ended their conversation to see who Bella was talking about, already having an idea of who it was. Seeing the Cullens making their dramatic entrance the girls spoke up. "The Cullens." Angela informed Bella. "They're Dr. Cullen's and Mrs. Cullen's foster kids. They moved here from Alaska like a few years ago." Jessica said in her gossip mode. "They kind of keep to themselves." Angela added onto what Jessica said. "Yea because they are all together. Like together, together." Jessica continued with her gossip, liking having someone new to tell. "The blonde girl that's Rosalie and the big dark haired guy is Emmett. They are like a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal?" Jessica said with a scandalized expression as Bella watched the couple walk into the cafeteria hand in hand. "Jess, they're not actually related." Angela tried to defend them, making Jessica scoff. "But they live together, it's weird." Jessica said to justify her reasoning.

Then Bella saw a short pixie like girl skip in next. "Ok the little dark haired girl is Alice, she's really weird. Everyone used to think that her and Jasper, a blonde guy who always looked to be in pain, were a couple. Though it looks like Alice wanted them to be and they weren't. She would always be hanging off one of his arms. Maybe that's why he always looked like he was in pain because he didn't like her doing that. This morning everyone found out that they weren't a couple because Jasper made it clear he was done putting up with her clinginess when they weren't even dating." Jessica said loving the new bit of gossip that came to light today. If the girls were to look back at the pixie haired girl they would have seen a scowl come across her face. Completely ignorant of the fuming pixie, Jessica continued on. "Dr. Cullen is like this foster dad slash matchmaker." Jessica scoffed out. "Maybe he will adopt me." Angela joked, making Jessica giggle and Bella smile slightly at them.

Then Bella's breath hitched as she saw a boy she thought was impossibly beautiful. All she could think to compare him to was a mythical Greek god Adonis with his pale skin and slender slightly muscled body and messy bronze hair. "Who's he?" Bella asked, watching him in awe. "That's Edward Cullen. He's totally gorgeous obviously, but apparently no one here is good enough for him. Like I care, you know. So yeah. Seriously, don't waste your time.." Jessica said bitterly towards the end. Which proved to Bella that she in fact did care and most likely has been turned down a couple times. "Wasn't planning on it." Bella replied back looking down. Then after a moment looked over her shoulder to look at Edward. Only to see that he was already looking at her with an intense look on his face, causing her to look away to hide the slight blush on her cheeks. Missing his look of frustration at not being able to read her mind.

The boys had finally come back to the table after this had happened. "Hey, wasn't there another new girl that came to school today?" Tyler asked the group at their table. "Yeah, Evelyn Lavellan. She is Bella's cousin." Eric answered Tyler's question, sitting on Bella's right side. "Well where is she and is she going to sit with us too?" Mike asked Bella, sitting on her other side making Jessica jealous. "Oh, ah.. Evelyn is in a program that allows her to take some college classes online early and she tends to do the course work during lunch. So she tends to sit off at a table on her own to do that and eat." Bella explained shyly not liking the attention being on her. As she finishes explaining this to the group the cafeteria becomes silent. As the group of teenagers turn around in their seats, they see why. Just to see Bella's cousin, Evelyn, and the missing Cullen coming into the lunchroom together. Arm in arm with Jasper saying something that made Evelyn laugh.

Evelyn POV:

Jasper and I had finally made our way to the cafeteria completely ignoring those around us. "So that is how Peter in just a huipil (traditional Mexican dress) kept him from being butt naked in front of border patrol. Made him think twice about messing with my favorite Stetson." Jasper said with a smirk, making me break into a fit of laughter. -That is the most beautiful sounding laugh I have ever her.- Everyone in the cafeteria seemed to think at the same time. I could also feel the lust and envy coming from the teens towards us and I knew Jasper could too. Then I was bombarded with thoughts from everyone in the cafeteria in a matter of seconds, unknowingly letting Jasper hear them as well through our mind link.

-You got to be kidding me!! First day one of the new girls are here and already one of the Cullens has his claws in her! At least Bella is still single- Tyler Crowley thought looking from Jasper and me to Bella.

-Man! I should have asked her for her number earlier when I had the chance..- Eric Yorkie thought he sounded put out.

-The Cullens are freaks, what does she see in Jasper?! Isn't he the one that always looks like he is in pain?- Mike Newton thought with disbelief.

-What?! First there are two new girls that take all the attention off me and now one of the Cullens is being friendly with one of them!! She isn't even that pretty, I'm prettier…- Lauren Mallory's thoughts were filled with anger and jealousy.

-Did they meet each other already and is that's why Jasper made it clear to everyone that him and Alice weren't a couple? So Evelyn would know he was single to not ruin his chance to date her? If I have a class with her later I will have to ask her.- Jessica Stanley's thoughts were filled with curiosity for who would be the main focus of gossip at the school.

-Wow I have never seen Jasper talk to anyone that wasn't a Cullen. He even doesn't have that look of pain he usually has and for once looks happy. I don't think I have ever seen him smile since the Cullens moved here. Well good for them I think they look good together.- Angela Weber's thoughts made me smile, her thoughts were as sweet and kind as the girl herself.

-What is Jasper thinking?! I know she is his mate, but she is a human!!! Even if she seems to have no scent… Normally he always agrees with me that we shouldn't intact to much with human. That its dangerous for the family and can bring the Volturi down on us. I'm going to have to have a talk with him when we get back to the home…- Rosalie's thoughts were full of disbelief, anger and worry for her family.

-Why didn't I see her coming?!?! I haven't been able to see anything clearly since she came here!!! She has ruined everything, Jasper should have been mine not hers!- Alice was seething and screeching out in her mind. Making both Jasper and I tense for a second unnoticed by both humans and sups in the room.

-I still can't hear her thoughts and now I can't hear her cousin Bella's thoughts either. I don't like this… Could something be wrong with my gift?- Edward's thoughts just seemed to be centered on him and his ability to read minds.

-I can't wait till Jasper introduces us to his mate. She seems cool, maybe she will play video games with me. None of the girls and Carlisle ever want to play with me..- Emmett's thoughts were interrupted by Edward cutting him off. "I don't play your video games with you." Edward said condescendingly to Emmett. -I never said you did, and I said none of the girls and Carlisle did. I counted you with the girls.. I mean what guy sends two hours doing their hair to make it look like they just got out of bed with their hair looking like that. Not mentioning you whine and throw fits like a little girl when you don't get your way.- Emmett seemed to think towards Edward making him growl under his breath at him. "If you don't like my thoughts then don't read them." Emmett said, smirking at Edward.

While this was all happening we had walked up to Bella's table. "Hey Bellzy-Bub, how have your classes been so far?" I asked her as I let go of Jasper's arm to give Bella a side hug. "It's been ok so far, I made a couple friends." Bella replied while waving her hand towards those at the table. Looking over them I gave them all a smile seeming to daze them. "Hello, everyone. I am Evelyn Lavellan, Bella's cousin/sister/second mom." I joked towards the end making the boys and Angela laugh. While the other girls gave a fake laugh and Bella blushed. "Well Bella, I just came to see how your day has been so far and give you the lunch I made for you. Which I'm glad that I did because an apple and water bottle is not enough for lunch." I told Bella in my "mom voice."

"Thanks Evie, it looks delicious. I forgot to pack myself something for lunch." Bella said with gratitude in her voice. "No problem Hells Bells, you know me. I'm so used to making lunches for everyone in the house. I even made Papa Charlie lunch too." I told her, remembering how grateful Charlie was when I handed him the lunchbox I prepared for him. "Well I will see you later at Biology Bells and it was nice meeting you all." I said to them all over my shoulder as I walked to Jasper's side. Jasper once again wrapped his arm around my waist as we headed to an empty table near one of the exits with a wall to our backs. That had a perfect view of the Cullen table, Bella's table and all the exits.

-I can tell the Major inside you chose this table, it's strategically sound.- I said through our link, projecting my approval to him. -Of course, I have to make sure I keep you safe. I know you can take care of yourself, but you are my mate and I will always want to take care of you.--Must keep mate safe!- I was surprised that I could even hear the Major through our link.-Well thank you Major, just as you both want to keep me safe. I want to keep you both safe as well.- I could tell I had surprised them both, for they both projected it through our link. -It is nice to meet you my mate. I did not think I would meet you till Jasper would let me out.- Major told me in his commanding and thick southern accent. I could imagine if he was out that he would be standing at attention, like the soldier he was. -It's nice to meet you as well Major.- As we sat down I looked over at Jasper and he was looking at me with awe. -You both shouldn't be so surprised. The Major is as much part of you, Jasper, as the Angel of Death is a part of me. You are both a part of a whole that makes my mate and so I accept the both of you. Never fear rejection from me. Though my alter hardly ever shows herself, you will eventually meet her as I have met Major.- -You have an alter as well?- Jasper asked me surprised to hear this. -Yes, since my time in Arlathan. Just as the Major came to be in your time in the SVWs. She is Nyx though now she is known as the Angel of Death while I was Vhenan and am the Guardian Angel now. The only reason you don't hear her as I can hear the Major is that Nyx and I are very in sync with one another. She will rarely show herself apart from me.- This seemed to surprise and shock both of them. -You and Nyx have almost merged together as one?!- Causing me to nod my head at Jasper. -Yes and if you like we can talk about it more later tonight. Sense us communicating without talking to one another will make those around us curious.- Which both Jasper and Major agreed with as we all looked towards the Cullens.

I reach into my backpack and summon the lunchboxes my clone had prepared this morning into my hand. "I made too many lunches this morning so you won't have to get a school lunch if you would like. I promise my food is tasty." I said to Jasper as I placed the food on the table. -Don't worry cowboy, I have a gift that allows Cold Ones and vampires to eat the food I make. It won't taste like dirt and you won't have to throw it up later. You will be able to digest the food and it will calm your bloodlust, but it can't replace blood.- -That's amazing darling, it has been a long time since I had eaten food. I figured it wouldn't be able to replace blood, but it's nice to know it will calm the cravings for it.- Jasper had a genuine smile on his face at the thought of me thinking of him and making him food.

Jasper's face seemed to light up at the thought of actually being able to do something as normal as eating. "If you can't make up your mind which lunch to have, we can simply just share both lunches." I told Jasper as I handed him a fork and waved at the food. "I don't mind sharing with you darling. This all looks and smells delicious." Jasper said. Right before taking a forkful of chicken into his mouth, letting out a small hum of delight at the taste of the food. "This is the best thing I have ever had to eat darling. Thank you for sharing your meal with me." Jasper said with a genuine smile on his face as he tried something else. "I'm glad you like it cowboy, I also made some fruit smoothies to drink. You can try them all and have the one you like best. Then after we finish eating lunch we can share the desserts I made too." I said happily to him as I placed the smoothies and desserts on the table. He tried them all, but seemed to like the strawberry smoothie the best.

As we ate our food and talked to one another I could feel many eyes on us. I tried to ignore it the best I could, but it was hard with my supernatural hearing and the ability to read minds. -I wonder how Professor X and Jean Grey could put up with this.- For a while I was doing fine till I started hearing the Cullens' thoughts and let Jasper hear them through our link.

-I know she is his mate, but how can Jasper eat that nasty shit?! He will have to throw it back up later and his stomach is going to bug him till he does… Then why is he acting like he is actually enjoying it? Doesn't it taste like dirt like all human food does? Maybe I should introduce myself to her if she let me try some.- Emmett's thoughts were filled with curiosity about the food. Making Jasper and I chuckle remembering one of the many memories Jasper had of Emmett trying to eat human food only to throw it up right after.

-What is Jasper thinking?! She is human!! He is putting us all at risk talking to her..- Rosalie thought while glaring our way. This caused Jasper to tense a bit, sense out of all the Cullens Rose had become a true friend to him. I reached out for his hand under the table giving it a squeeze letting him know without words that I would always be here for him. Which made him smile at me and squeeze my hand back returning the gesture.

-This can not be happening right now! How can I not read this girl Evelyn's mind? Could there be something wrong with my gift? No it can't be I can hear everyone else just fine. Does she somehow have a gift, but she is human this shouldn't be possible! Is she the reason I can't read Jasper's mind now too and I can't read the other new girl's, Bella, mind either… Alice can't seem to see any of them either, when she was able to see Jasper before Evelyn moved to Forks. Is Evelyn some how subconsciously using this ability to block me and Alice on Jasper and Bella? I think I will have to call a family meeting about this. She is a danger to us, but she is also Jasper's mate.. I must be careful in how I bring this up to the family if I don't want to be at the receiving end of Jasper's wrath.- Edward's thoughts were filled with frustration at his inability to use his gift on Bella, Jasper and me. As well with so many unanswered questions and trying to find a solution to it all, but the worst was yet to come…

-THAT BITCH!! She is ruining all of my plans! How did I not see her coming?! Not only can't I see her, but now I can't see Jasper or Bella either! She is ruining everything, the future I wanted no longer exists!! She has to go… I have to get rid of her, she has to die! Once she is gone the future will be as I saw it, Jasper will be mine and all will be right in the world.- Alice's thoughts were the worst of the bunch. Edward didn't seem to hear her thoughts because he was concentrating on his own or he simply didn't care and agreed with her. Either way I would keep my guard up around them.

Jasper's POV:

My mate was letting me hear the Cullens' thoughts through our link. At first I wasn't too worried. Emmett's thoughts made me laugh because out of everything, me eating food was all he could think of and the possibility of him being able to eat food too. Rose was just being herself worrying for her family. Which was understandable with the laws our kind have, but once she finds out that Evelyn isn't human she shouldn't have a problem any longer. -Hopefully everything works out with Rose. Out of all the Cullens I have truly come to care for Rose as a "twin sister" that we pretend to be in front of the humans.- Edward's thoughts weren't surprising.. He has always been full of himself and believed himself to always be right. Though Alice's thoughts had me seething in anger, making it hard for me to stay in control.

-HOW DARE THAT PIXIE BOY THREATEN TO KILL OUR MATE!!!- The Major roared in my mind banging at the bars of the cage in my mind that kept him at bay. -Let me out! Let me out Jasper! Let me out so I can torture and then kill the threat to our mate!- I had almost given in till I felt my mate wrap her arms around me. "Thanks for complimenting my cooking Jasper. It always makes me happy to hear someone say they enjoyed the food I made. If you like I can start making this a part of the norm. Making lunches for us to share together." Evelyn said. -That's right, while we were listening to the Cullens we were still talking. Right before hearing Alice's thoughts I had been complimenting her cooking skills.- The Major and I started to calm a bit with having our mate in our arms.

Then the most amazing scent flooded our senses. It smelled of the rare rainstorms in Texas, the spice cake mother would make on special occasions, wild flowers and what I believe power would smell like. It smelt of home and then I realized what it was at the same time Major did. -Our mate is allowing us to breathe in her scent and from what we have seen from her memories we are the first. No one else has had the privilege to breathe in her scent in this life.- Major purred out in pride at this. The revelation made my heart swell with pride and joy. Causing me to bury my head in the crook of her neck breathing in her scent, deeply calming myself completely. -I'm glad I was able to calm you both down. She can't kill me, my love. I am a true immortal, I can not die and once we complete the mating bond so will you.- Hear this made me release a breath of relief. -My mate is safe and we will be able to live forever together without fear of death ever separating us.- -Even so I would like to be let out to deal with her. She can't be allowed to live after threatening you my mate.- I couldn't help but to agree with the Major that we couldn't let a threat to Evelyn live, especially someone like Alice. -Don't worry she will get what is coming to her, but we can't get rid of her yet. It's not the right time yet, if we were to do so now would cause more problems for us. I have seen it and unlike Alice's visions mine are more reliable.-

She was right, she had shown me the vision through our link. -Evelyn's visions are more solid, no blurriness like Alice and Edward have described Alice's to be. Unlike Alice's they weren't subjected to a decision made, but what the future held with everything currently affecting it. It wasn't set in stone, but Evelyn didn't have to wait for someone to decide something to be able to have a vision.- -Alright my mate, but when the time comes I want to deliver the killing blow.- After we had all agreed to this the Major finally calmed down and so did I.

Once Evelyn could tell I was completely calm again she pulled away, placing a kiss on my cheek, but she still held my hand under the table giving it a squeeze. -The humans don't even know what Evelyn just saved them from. For this all happened in a matter of seconds within our mind link. If Major had succeeded in coming out, he would have killed anyone who got in his way to take out the threat to our mate.- I couldn't help looking at all the faces around me that could have died moments before. "Now why don't we dig into these desserts I made, I bet you will love them." Evelyn said as she lifted her fork with a piece of cake to my lips. "You don't have to be jealous darling. I can think of something else I believe will taste even better." I said in a husky tone as I stared into her eyes. I knew she figured out right away what I meant as her breath hitched and her blush darken. -I will say it again I'm one lucky SoB, Evelyn is an amazing woman. She isn't a woman to be reckoned with, for she is a rainstorm like her scent. To those she cares for she brings relief from the drought season. Unfortunately to those that dare make an enemy of her she is a hurricane of destruction, causing their demise.- "Oh, shut up and eat your cake." She told me while shoving another piece in my mouth. I couldn't help but smirk at her and send her a cheeky wink. -Yes she is an amazing woman that brings a storm with her, but as I can recall from her memories she has always enjoyed dancing in the rain. Though now she will have me there dancing in the rain with her.-
