Jacqueline found herself falling back into a modified version of her old routine. At least this time there was no Miranda to deal with or Greyson to seek out. However, Jacqueline found herself once again taking care of her siblings.
However, ungrateful they were to that.
Jacqueline sighed as she stepped out of the shower. It was 6am and she was hoping to have breakfast ready before they wake up. As she had done when she had been here living with them.
Before Miranda and Greyson's death.
Before everything had changed.
Jacqueline stepped into a nice pair of dark wash jeans. The knees decoratively had been ripped up, but they fit nicely around her curves. Jacqueline pulled on a black singlet top and flannel red and black button up over it. Jacqueline left the flannel unbuttoned and stepped into her heeled boots.
She was ready for the day.
Jacqueline had never worn much makeup before. Even when she had it was usually for special occasions.
Truthfully, Jacqueline had found that her Mancinelli blood blessed her with a beautiful body. She possessed an hourglass figure without much effort. Though Jacqueline had spent enough time in the gym to tone up her body anyway.
Jacqueline preferred her natural beauty to superficial beauty.
Not to mention Jacqueline had always liked her clothing style to be attractive yet simple. She didn't wear dresses unless necessary. Mostly she wore pants but sometimes she wore skirts or shorts. Though whatever outfit it was - it always showed off her body.
Completely opposite to Elena's style.
In fact Jacqueline didn't really think there was anyone in town with similar style to herself. Caroline was more girly, Bonnie was more bohemian and Elena was more conservative. Jacqueline however loved leather, reds, royal blue, tattoos showing, tight jeans, V necked singlets, boots or heels and jackets.
Shaking her head, Jacqueline shut her closet doors and headed downstairs.
The house was still quiet, as it usually was at this time of morning. Jacqueline started up the coffee machine and nearly chugged the coffee once it was done.
She really does love coffee...
Working on her second cup, Jacqueline started breakfast. She made her regular chocolate chip pancakes, a small fruit salad and some grits. Her stomach grumbled at the smell of food and she quickly went about serving it up.
"Is that breakfast?" Jeremy yawned as he walked blindly into the kitchen.
Jacqueline chuckled at the sight and set a plate and coffee down for him on the table. She watched as Jeremy mumbled a thanks and dug into the food. Jacqueline couldn't help but remember the sleepy 4 year old who would demand to be carried toward the food each morning.
"Whats wrong?" Jeremy asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.
Jacqueline moved closer and kissed his forehead in a display of affection. She smiled and then went back to her food. Ignoring the bemused look Jeremy was giving her right now.
"Ooookay?" Jeremy drew out before he continued to eat.
Jacqueline could barely believe how old he had gotten. She may be his sister - adopted sister - but Jacqueline had raised Jeremy. Sadly, she realised that she looked at Jeremy more like her son than her sibling. Though considering Miranda's drug habits had taken a nasty turn for the worse after Jeremys birth... it wasn't all that surprising.
Jacqueline had been the who rocked a 8 month old Jeremy to sleep.
Jacqueline had been the one who got up at 3 am to make Jeremy a bottle when Miranda was too stoned move.
Jacqueline had been the one who went to each and every one of Jeremys school events, soccer games and art shows. Jacqueline never missed a single one and she was always unashamedly cheering in the crowd.
"Are you sure your okay?" Jeremy asked as he cast her sad face a worried look.
Jacqueline sighed, "You know that I love you, right?" Jacqueline asked
Jeremy didn't hesitate in nodding, "Of course I do. I love you too, Jaq. I always have"
"Good" Jacqueline said more to herself than him. She offered Jeremy a smile and ruffled his hair with her hand. "You've grown up so much, Jer" she said with a sad smile. "I hate myself for missing it"
Jeremys eyes widened but he grabbed her hand firmly. "I'm not mad. Jacqueline you did what you thought was best for us... I know that. I shouldn't have made you think I didn't want you here"
Jacqueline hugged him.
She wasn't exactly sure why she felt the need to bring all this up today, but she was glad she had. Jacqueline needed to hear that he didn't hate her and never really had. She also had needed to make sure he knew she loved him. Jacqueline kissed the top of his head, holding onto him a little longer than she usually would have.
Jeremy didn't seem to mind though.
His arms wrapped her her waist and his face buried In her neck. He clung just as tightly to her as she did him - as if he had desperately missed the hugs she used to give him.
Three years made more of a difference than she realised it would.
Jacqueline felt her heart break a little but she was glad to be back. While she would likely never admit it, Jacqueline felt as if Jeremy was her son. She loved him like a mother loves their child and that wouldn't ever change. Thinking he needed to be away from her to heal had hurt more than she allowed herself to acknowledge.
It still stung.
Though at least now she knew she had misinterpreted.
It was a relief to know that.
"I'm here now, Jeremy" Jacqueline said as she held him. "I'm here now and I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going to let you get hurt anymore"
"I missed you" Jeremy sniffled a little in her shoulder as his arms tightened. "If you leave again - can you take me with you? Like you planned to do before Miranda and Greyson died?"
Jacqueline sucked in a small breath as she nodded. "Of course. I'm never gonna leave you again"
Jeremy didn't move an inch from where he held her tightly in his grip. Jacqueline realised that while he might have grown, might have been through a lot... that he's still only a 16 year old boy.
He's still a kid.
He's still her kid.
Jacqueline sighed silently and made absolutely no move to let him go. If he needed a hug, if he needed to just be held by someone he knew would protect him - then that's what she would do. Jacqueline wasn't sure how long they stayed like that but she knew it had to of been over half an hour. She just continued to run her fingers through his hair and rub his back.
She felt a few tears on her shoulder but didn't say anything about them.
Jeremy clearly needed the comfort.
Jacqueline couldn't have been more eager to give it to him.
"What are you doing?" Elena demanded as she walked into the kitchen. Angry brown doe eyes looked between Jacqueline and Jeremy.
Though Jeremy made no move to leave the safety of Jacqueline's arms. In fact, he huddled closer when Elena spoke. As if Jacqueline's hug could shield him from anything Elena had to say.
Jacqueline's heart broke a little at the thought.
Though she didn't let Elena know that.
Jacqueline settled Elena with a fierce look that she usually reserved for enemies. "Take your breakfast to your room" was all Jacqueline said but her voice made it clear this wasn't optional.
Elena shrank back in hurt and betrayal.
"What?!" Elena spluttered in shock, "You can't-"
"I just did. Now go, Elena, with or without food" Jacqueline demanded harshly
Elena sulked and stomped back up the stairs to her bedroom.
Jacqueline felt more tears on her shoulder and held Jeremy tighter. "I'm so sorry, Jer, I'm sorry I let this happen" she whispered guiltily
"Just don't leave me again" Jeremy pleaded, for once since she returned, sounding his age.
He sounded broke.
Hurt.
Desperate for the one person who had always loved, provided and protected him.
"I won't" Jacqueline swore fiercely
Elena is pissed.
Jacqueline knew that, of course, hadn't really expected anything less from the girl. She was starting to see that this version of Elena wasn't happy unless she was the centre of attention. Whether the way she got that attention was good or bad, didn't seem to matter much.
Jacqueline figured they were in serious need of a conversation.
Especially after everything this morning with Jeremy. The 16 year old boy and finally shown from under the layer of protection he built for himself in her absence. Jacqueline felt even more like a failure than she had before but that was something she was keeping to herself.
She needed to see Elena though.
Cause Jacqueline was going to make sure that Jeremy never had to feel that again. If Elena was trying to get herself killed... well, that's got nothing to do with Jeremy. In fact, it's a whole other matter Jacqueline will be addressing.
Jacqueline pulled up outside the Salvatore boardinghouse.
If Elena had gone anywhere, Jacqueline bet it was to her boy toys. With a scoff Jacqueline parked the car and got out. Looking around, she made sure her heart beat was falsified and approached the house.
It was huge.
The place looked like something from a movie. It was rather beautiful and had a warm feeling to the place. Like when the door opened she expected to find a cute little family in matching sweaters huddled by the fire.
That wasn't what she'd find though.
Jacqueline knew that.
Huffing she knocked on the large door and waited for someone to answer. A glance over her shoulder at the blue camaro said someone was home.
Hopefully with Elena.
Jacqueline knocked again, louder this time. Though she knew the vampire residents had just ignored her the first time.
"What?" Damon hissed when he opened the door before he paused in surprise. A smirk worked it's way into his face as he looked her up and down. Damon opened his mouth to say something, no doubt inappropriate, but she cut him off.
"Whatever comment you were going to make - save it. I'm here to see Elena. Where is she?" Jacqueline demanded dryly
Damon chuckled, "Elena isn't here"
Jacqueline narrowed her eyes, "Then where is she?"
"Out with Stefan" Damon rolled his eyes, sounding a little bitter.
He opened the door wider and gestured for her to come in. Jacqueline sighed and figured getting more information would be worth being around him. Jacqueline walked into the parlour looking room. She went straight for the bourbon and reached out with her magic to make sure it was what it appeared to be. When she was satisfied that nothing was contaminating the alcohol, she poured herself a glass.
Damon snorted. "Make yourself at home then"
Jacqueline gave him a look, "I needed a drink after the day I've had... and you invited me in"
He shrugged, "Yeah, yeah" he waved her off and made himself a drink. Damon sat down on the couch and Jacqueline followed him as they drank in silence.
"So where exactly is Elena?" Jacqueline sighed
"Some romantic getaway for the night to be free of the drama" Damon said, rather put out by the fact Elena and Stefan we're on a romantic getaway.
Jacqueline snorted dryly
Damon glared, "What did you need Elena for anyway?"
"Jeremy needs to be kept out of whatever you guys are doing" Jacqueline said seriously as she turned to Damon. "Elena might want to be caught up in this supernatural drama but Jeremy doesn't. He wants out, Damon"
Damon sighed but nodded in a moment of actual compassion.
"He's just a kid" Jacqueline muttered, "He wants to do art and play video games - not wonder how many times that Gilbert ring can bring him back to life"
"Yeah..." Damon nodded in understanding as he refilled both their glasses again.
Jacqueline took a sip of the burning alcohol with ease. She had a lot on her mind right now. There had been so much going on lately that she had barely been able to think. Jacqueline knew though, that she wanted to get Jeremy out of here at some point.
Soon.
Jacqueline could take him to meet the coven. Show him the good and fun parts of the supernatural world. She could take him with her to travel the world. Jacqueline would love to show him all the art collections and museums she had seen in the last few years.
Jeremy would love them.
Jacqueline sighed, it wouldn't happen until she was absolute positive Elena didn't want her help.
"I can hear you thinking from here" Damon complained
Jacqueline rolled her eyes, "I've got a lot on my mind" she retorted as she looked over at him again.
Damon looked at her then, his head tilting in thought. "Then let me take your mind off of it for a while, hmm?" He asked with a small smirk. "We could both use a break from the real world"
Jacqueline wasn't sure...
Damon moved closer, his hand on her jaw as he leaned in and kissed her. Jacqueline only hesitation for a few seconds before she responded. She sighed a little as she kissed him back.
Maybe taking her mind off of things would do her some good?
Jacqueline really hoped she wasn't making a mistake here. Though she did agree they could probably both use some distraction.
Damon's hands moved to her hips and pulled her into his lap. Jacqueline sat, straddling him, as her own hands tugged on the hem of his shirt. Jacqueline knew she was gonna be in for a long night now but she couldn't find it in her to care much.
Didn't she deserve to have a little fun?
Plus, Elena was only interested in having Damon nipping at her heels for attention. It wasn't like this would actually hurt her sister thankfully.
Jacqueline groaned as she rolled over in the bed. She blinked her eyes opened as memories of her late night/ morning activities came to mind. She and Damon had their - surprisingly creative - fun on the couch for a few hours. Eventually though, they had spent the early morning in his bedroom.
It had been a relatively good night.
Jacqueline most certainly felt her entire body relax from all stresses and worries that usually kept her up.
A phone rang.
"Hmmm" Damon sighed in annoyance from beside her as he grabbed his phone. "Hello?" He answered sounding very much like he had just woken up from a late night. "Uh, I've been -" he paused and smirked at Jacqueline. "-a little busy"
Jacqueline snorted quietly.
"I'll talk to you later" Damon said distractedly as his hand pulled back the sheet. He was quick to hang up the phone then.
Jacqueline hummed and rolled on her side to face him. Her arm supporting her head, "Was that the real world calling to ask why you thought you could get away with ignoring it for this long?" She joked
Damon chuckled, "Something like that" he agreed
Damon's hand ran idly down the side of her body. His eyes following the movement. "I didn't realise you had tattoos... well, not until last night"
Jacqueline rolled her eyes, "I worked in a tattoo shop for years" she said remembering the old job with fondness
Damon looked curious as his hand continued to flutter over the ink or scars on her body. "What was it like living here? Growing up here?" He asked before adding. "I've heard different sides of it. Elena says it was amazing - your family. Jeremy always says how horrible it was"
Jacqueline sighed
She rolled over and so she was basically laying on his chest. Her chin rested on his stomach as she looked at him.
Damon patiently waited for her to speak.
"You know those old classic movies, the ones based in small towns with the Quaterback and the Popular girl?" Jacqueline asked idly as her fingers traced his muscles.
Damon hummed, "Sure. The ones with the cheesy America Dream stereotypes"
Jacqueline nodded, "Elena always wanted that. If there was ever a town for it to happen..." she trailed off
"It would be here" Damon nodded with a chuckle
Jacqueline hummed as she looked at Damon. She knew why he was asking and it wasn't to get to know her. It was because he was painfully in love with Elena. He wanted to know more about Elena, to understand Elena Gilbert and where Elena comes from.
She felt bad for him.
"Do you want me to show you?" Jacqueline offered him despite knowing it wouldn't help him to know this Elena Gilbert. But Jacqueline didn't mind reminiscing about the little Elena that she had raised.
Damon looked surprised as he quirked a brow, "You want to let me into your head?"
Jacqueline shrugged, "I'll drive the memories but I'll show you some of you want. I know you just want to understand Elena more"
Damon looked a little ashamed that she knew the real reason he had asked. Though apparently not ashamed enough to reject the offer anyway. Instead Damon nodded and Jacqueline reached out her hands on either side of his face.
She allowed her magic to infiltrate his mind.
Focusing, she recalled a memory from her youth and closed her eyes as it played out in both their minds.
Jacqueline jumped from her bed when she heard yelling. She peered into the hallway and followed the sound to her parents room. Greyson shoved Miranda away from him, the drunk women fell to the floor was a hiss.
"You stupid bitch" Greyson growled and pushed past Jacqueline as she stood in the doorway.
Jacqueline sighed and looked at her mother. Logically she had known a 9 year old shouldnt see this but that never stopped her parents before. Jacqueline was just glad she was the only one to notice. "Get up, come on, get up" Jacqueline pulled on Miranda's arm to help the woman off the floor. "Are you gonna take me to school today?" She asked warily
Miranda grunted and flopped down on the bed. "Sure" Miranda waved her off dismissively and fell back asleep
"Yeah... that's just great mom" Jacqueline hissed in a true 9 year old fashion. She stomped out of her parents bedroom. Slamming the door behind her before turning just in time to see Greyson leave the house. "Bye daddy!" Jacqueline called, but the man didn't turn around.
Jacqueline sniffled a little and crossed her arms over her chest with a huff. She didn't care if he said good bye or not - she wasn't a baby, she didn't need to say bye to her dad!
Right?
Yeah... of course not.
"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" A little voice yelled
Jacqueline looked at Miranda's door, mentally willing her mom to walk out sober and ready to look after Elena. It didn't happen - it rarely ever did this last month. Jacqueline trudged into her sisters bedroom and looked at a 4 year old Elena bouncing in her crib.
"Mommy!" Elena reached for her
Jacqueline reared back in shock. She looked behind her to see if Miranda had followed.
"Mommy!" Elena giggled making grabbing hands at Jacqueline.
Jacqueline frowned but picked up little Elena anyway. "Your a silly baby, Lena" Jacqueline rolled her eyes fondly when Elena grabbed her cheeks. "I'm not your mommy. I'm Jacqueline, don't you remember?"
Elena giggled with wide eyes, "Play princess mommy!"
Jacqueline huffed, "I thought 4 year olds were supposed to be smart" she said to herself and placed Elena on the floor. Elena went straight for her toys and started acting out a princess story. Jacqueline sat and watched Elena play.
"Hungry!" Elena whined dramatically
Jacqueline laughed, "Your gonna be an actor when your older, baby Lena."
"Mommy hungry!" Elena whined
Jacqueline huffed again at the titile. "Maybe your not dumb? Are you pretending I'm your mommy cause ours isn't here?" Jacqueline asked but the 4 year old didn't do more than pout and point to her grumbling stomach. Jacqueline picked Elena up and carried her towards the kitchen.
The ringing of the doorbell had Jacqueline freezing.
"Uh-oh" Jacqueline whispered worriedly as she went to answer the door.
Mason looked angry when he realised she wasn't dressed. "God! Girls take forever to get dressed!" Mason complained. "Did you forget we have school?"
"Did you forget Im not a moron?!" Jacqueline retorted glaring at the 12 year old boy. "I'm not going today. I've got a stomach ache, Mason. Moms letting me stay home"
Mason grumbled, "You're always sick! I think your just pretending! Where is Miranda anyway?" Mason demanded as he moved to push last her into the house
Jacqueline pushed right back with more force than he had been expecting. She slammed the door in his face and wiped a tear angrily from her eye.
She hated this!
She hated not being able to do what she wanted to do. She hated lying all the time. She hated the times when her mom couldn't take care of Elena. She hated that her mom sometimes stopped being a mom.
Sighing, Jacqueline looked up at Elena who was sitting on the kitchen table waiting less than patiently.
She softened her angry stance. "It's alright, Lena. If you want to pretend I'm your mommy for a little while then that's okay. Moms having a bad month. She'll be your mommy again soon. But I promise I'll be a good mom until then" Jacqueline kissed Elena's chubby cheek.
Jacqueline opened her eyes and blinked away the sadness she felt in her heart. She wasn't sure why that memory came to mind now. It had been buried deep in her mind for years.
Damon frowned at her, "How old were you?" He asked quietly
Jacqueline shrugged, "About 9"
Damon pursed his lips in thought. He shook his head, "Elena never talks about it like that. She always says how great your mom was. That they were close - that she misses her but how could you miss someone who wasn't there?"
Jacqueline sighed, cause she didn't know.
"You know... maybe she thinks I was Miranda?" Jacqueline voiced suddenly. "Maybe she wants so desperately for it to of been Miranda that she genuinely has come to believe it?"
Damon hummed thoughtfully
"It only got worse from them on though" Jacqueline voiced without emotion. "I did everything I could to keep it from them. To protect them from the truth... I know Elena hates me for it now, but I never minded being the bad guy if it meant they were happy"
Damon nodded
"I was the mom. Miranda was 'away researching her book' when really she was on a bender getting high somewhere out of town" Jacqueline said emotionlessly. "Elena adored Miranda though. She wanted to be a writer just like Miranda."
Damon shook his head sadly
Jacqueline reached out and forced another memory into his mind.
An angry 13 year old Jacqueline marched into Greyson's practice. "Drugs and money" she demanded expectantly
Greyson grabbed her arm forcefully and hissed as he dragged her into his office. "Jacqueline" he said sternly and gripped her arm even tighter. "You need to be careful what you say!"
Jacqueline rolled her eyes and yanked her arm from his hold. She jutted her chin up at him, refusing to show weakness. "Why can't you send her to get help?" She asked angrily
"She doesn't want it" Greyson sighed and softened
"Who the fuck cares what she wants?!" Jacqueline practically yelled. "I left her with Jeremy while I went to school for my test and she was so high that she didn't feed him!"
Greyson winced but remained silent.
Jacqueline scoffed, "Whatever Dad. Honestly just give me the damn drugs before she goes into withdrawals. I also need money - i need to get us grocery's, Elenas school wants money for a field trip and I'm gonna have to find someone to watch Jeremy while I'm at school"
Greyson grumbled and reluctantly handed over the money from his wallet.
Jacqueline counted the money and then looked at him again in disbelief. "50? What the hell am I gonna do with this?" She asked
Greyson sighed, "It's all I have at the moment. You'll deal with it"
Jacqueline huffed, "You haven't been home in a month! You said you were working! How do you only have 50 to spare for your children?" She hissed
Greyson stood and opened his office door with a stern look. "You are the child. I am the adult. You'll do as asked, Jacqueline. I can still punish you"
"Yeah?" Jacqueline mocked, "You'd have to come home to punish me... and you won't do that" she said before storming out of his office with the money in her pocket. Jacqueline crossed her arms and angrily walked home.
"Jaq?!"
Jacqueline turned and spotted Bock from the year above her in school. He was a always nice but continued to try and charm his easy into her pants. "What do you want?"
Brock smiled, "Just wanted to see your pretty face"
Jacqueline rose an unimpressed brow at him. "Look all you want Brock - but please, do it from a distance" She snapped harshly and walked away.
Jacqueline stomped into the house and found Miranda throwing up in her room. "Here" she threw the pills at her mother who cried in relief. "Jesus, Miranda. Why don't you let me take you to a rehab or something? I could get the money... I really could!" She begged
Miranda took the pills and laughed. "Get out of my face"
Jacqueline sighed, "Dont you want to be a mom? Don't you want to be with your children?"
Miranda snorted and glared, "Why do you think I'm like this? Huh? Cause I didn't want this. I wanted my husband- I wanted to travel and live my life with my husband"
Jacqueline wasn't even surprised by the harsh words anymore. Instead she turned and walked away. Jacqueline walked into her bedroom and checked on Jeremy who's little bed was in the corner of her room. Jeremy yawned and sleepily reached for her to pick him up. Jacqueline grinned, "Did you have a good nap, my baby boy?"
Jeremy yawned and nuzzled his face into her neck. "Sweepy still" the 5 year old muttered. "Randa no nice to me. I missed my mamma!"
Jacqueline sighed but kissed his head anyway. She carried him downstairs and bounced him on her hip as she cooked dinner for them.
"Elena?!" Jacqueline called loudly over the television. "Dinner!"
Elena stomped into the room with tears running down her face.
Jacqueline rushed over to her sister in concern. "Hey! Lena What's wrong baby? Are you okay?"
Elena sniffled, "Caroline is wearing a bra at school and everyone said it's cause she's more mature then me!"
Jacqueline blinked utterly dumbfounded that this was the issue. "Uh, well, you don't really-"
Elena whaled dramatically and threw herself into a chair at the table. Head in hands as she cried and sniffled. "It's not fair! I want to be like the other girls! This is going to ruin my life, can't you see that?"
Jeremy pulled Jacqueline's hair as the 5 year old frowned. "Why Lena cry?"
"It's just not fair!" Elena yelled as she continued to sob.
Jacqueline sighed and set Jeremy in his high chair. Then Jacqueline moved to sit beside Elena, pulling the 10 year olds face from her hands. Tenderly Jacqueline wiped away the tears. "I'll take you shopping. How does that sound?"
Elena sniffled, "Really?" She asked hopefully
Jacqueline nodded, "I'd do anything for you, Lena. We can find a bra for you if you really want one. It was about time anyway, I suppose" she said
Elena beamed, "Thank you Jaq!" Elena threw her arms around Jacqueline in a hug. "I knew you would fix it! You always do! "
Jacqueline chuckled, "Just don't go around flashing your tits or anything" she warned
Elena looked horrified, "Jaq! You can't say that word!"
"What tits?" Jacqueline mocked making Elena reluctantly giggle and blush beet red. "Don't worry, my little Lena. I'll figure it all out" she assured before going back into the kitchen. Jacqueline pulled out her wallet and looked at the money she had.
It wouldn't be enough.
Jacqueline sighed and plated dinner before serving it to Elena and Jeremy. The two ate their pasta happily. Jacqueline listened idly to Elena talk about school. Jeremy demanded praise for the drawing of Jacqueline he had done and while Elena tried to protest that she could do better, Jacqueline made sure they both got the attention they craved.
Jacqueline put them to bed that night and then sat in her room. She called a friend of hers and they met up at the Grill. Jacqueline sat waiting as the family from the booth beside her left a rather large tip on the table before leaving.
She looked at the money - trying to find some guilt for what she was thinking of doing.
There was none.
Jacqueline took the money, shoved it in her pocket and left the Grill. She waited outside for her friend. Jacqueline wondered if she'd feel guilty later about this, but doubted she would.
There was nothing she wouldn't do for her family.
Jacqueline didn't care if that waitress had needed the money. Jacqueline knew without a doubt if it came between her siblings and a stranger - she'd pick her siblings every time.
This was no different.
Jacqueline smiled at the moment she truly accepted the fact she was alright not being the best person. She had done many bad things in life but regretted very few. Stealing to provide from her family wasn't one of those few.
Damon looked at her and smirked, "You stole from the Grill?"
Jacqueline shrugged and rolled her eyes. "I did more than just that but I guess it's where it all started."
"Naughty" Damon chuckled
"Mhmm" Jacqueline nodded as she kissed him again. Damon responded in kind as he flipped them.
He hovered over her and looked kindly at her for a second. "Thanks for not being upset"
Jacqueline knew what he meant and nodded. "It's okay. Thanks for being a good distraction" she gave him a small smile.
"Come to the Mikaelson ball with me" Damon said suddenly. "I'll need a distraction from Elena and Stefan"
Jacqueline shrugged, "Better than going alone I guess"
Damon snorted, "You make me feel so special, Jacqueline!"
Jacqueline smirked mockingly, "My goal in life has been accomplished then"
