Jacqueline bit her lip as she walked into the cafe. Last night had been alright. Jacqueline knew Rebekah had enjoyed it more than she had, and she was glad. Rebekah had put a lot of effort into organising the school dance and she deserved to enjoy it. Though It had been a little awkward as they realised it was a bad location for any type of date.
So they'd gone as friends for the night.
They had danced to a the fast songs and talked through the slow ones.
It had been a good night... even if Elena, Stefan, Bonnie, Caroline and Matt had all been there too. That had been another reason that they fell back into their friendship mode. While it was better that they hadn't 'announced' anything at the dance - it did make for uncertain footing today.
What were they?
Friends or girlfriends or neither?
Jacqueline didn't know and she was slightly dreading the proceeding conversation. At least they had come to a cafe out of town and safe from prying ears. Still... speaking about emotions and feelings weren't her forte.
No matter the location.
Jacqueline nodded as she sat down in the booth with Rebekah. "Hey, Beka" she greeted easily
Rebekah smiled, "Good morning Jaq"
The waitress approached them with their usual orders. Apparently the woman knew well enough when she saw one of them. Though that wasn't surprising considering how often they come here.
"Thanks" Jacqueline said, happily digging into her caramel syrup waffle and fruit.
Rebekah smiled at the lady before enjoying her own breakfast burrito. Both of them had gotten sweet vanilla iced lattes with their meals. "It's as good as always" Rebekah commented happily
Jacqueline nodded her agreement
"I had a lot of fun last night" Rebekah said with a rather shy smile
Jacqueline nodded, "I always have fun when we're spending time together" she added in way of agreement. Even though that type of event wasn't Jacqueline's thing - she's still had a good time talking and dancing. Despite the fact it hadn't gone as the date she hoped it would have been.
Hopefully they could correct that.
Rebekah nodded, "Same. I had forgotten the little Scooby gang would be there"
"Me too" Jacqueline sighed before stabbing a piece of fruit with a little more force than necessary. "Though- if we, well if ever do want to be together... they'll know about it" she said as carefully as possible.
Rebekah sighed
Jacqueline resisted the urge to wince at the less than pleased look on Rebekah's face.
"Do you want to be together?" Jacqueline forced her voice to remain calm. "I guess it's something we should think about, right? If you need more time to do that?"
Jacqueline hoped not.
After their very highschool-ish make out session in her room yesterday, well, Jacqueline hoped it meant Rebekah didn't need time to think. In fact, she hoped it meant Rebekah would be willing to see where this goes.
Jacqueline figured she could do that.
It felt right.
Jacqueline just had a good gut feeling about them being together. Her gut hadn't steered her wrong yet.
Jacqueline just hoped that Rebekah was finally on the same page. Though she understood the new territory they were both in - it still hurt when Rebekah hesitated.
"What would happen? What would we tell people? What would it even mean to us?" Rebekah breathed out all her questions. "Can we really just one day say that we're a couple all of a sudden? What if my brothers or your brothers don't approve? Would this make you my girlfriend?"
Jacqueline failed to follow.
Rebekah took a breath and sighed, "Sorry" she apologised
Jacqueline shrugged, "I get it. I've never done this before either - but my gut tells me this is a good thing. It feels right... doesn't it?"
Rebekah smiled and nodded
"Then we can figure things out slowly I guess" Jacqueline shrugged again as she thought it all through. "We'd have to tell our brothers... but who cares what anyone else thinks?"
Rebekah sighed, "This won't be easy will it?"
"I don't know" Jacqueline admitted, "But I'm willing to try if you are"
Rebekah nodded and smiled softly, "I am. It took me a while but when I thought you had moved on... it hurt. I shouldn't have run away like I did, but I won't run now"
Jacqueline breathed a sigh of relief as she nodded. They had both needed some time to come to terms with their feelings. Jacqueline knew that they should have talked it through sooner then they had. It might be unconventional way to start a relationship but it was okay by her regardless. They had made a mess of the entire situation but at least they were dealing with it now.
They easily lapsed back into comfortable silence as they thought things through. Jacqueline knew there would be a lot to happen in the next few day now.
It would emotional.
And uncomfortable...
Jacqueline would need to sit Tyler and Jeremy down for a conversation first. She would want them to find out through her, not someone else. Jacqueline would try her best to make them understand and hoped that they would.
She didn't think they'd have an issue though.
Not to mention Rebekah would have to tell her brothers too. Elijah had basically given them the go ahead already anyway. If Elijah knew, then Jacqueline assumed Kol and Klaus might as well. If not, then Elijah would keep them in line when Rebekah tells them.
Elena would want to know too.
Jacqueline sighed at that - she hadn't spoken to Elena in a while though. She had refused to chase Elena down this time. If Elena wanted to be part of the family then Elena had to seek them out.
If not...
Well, then Jacqueline guessed she wouldn't be needing to tell Elena anything.
"If we date then - well, then Damon will have to back off. Just because we're two women doesn't mean we can't have a real relationship" Rebekah said suddenly
Jacqueline smirked, "I agree. Though Damon won't care much, it was never meant to mean anything to him."
Rebekah nodded and then winced, "We should have had this conversation sooner... I don't regret it - but I do know that we went about it the wrong way. Especially involving Damon"
Jacqueline shrugged as she sipped her iced latte.
She knew that there had been a far easier way to get to this point... but it's too late now. It had been a tricky past few days but that was hopefully over now. It wasn't like they'd done anything wrong with Damon. He liked them about a much as they like them - which isn't much.
Damon had been a willing means to an end and he knew it just as well as they had.
It hadn't meant anything.
Damon had wanted an escape from his Elena drama. Rebekah and Jacqueline had wanted a buffer between them. It had, at the time, seemed like the perfect solution that fell into their laps.
"Damon's a big boy" Jacqueline muttered sarcastically before she grinned at Rebekah. "Does this mean you'll be my girlfriend?"
Rebekah grinned and nodded, "Officially now"
Jacqueline chuckled and looked around the cafe before she leaned across the table and kissed her new girlfriend. It was just a quick kiss but they both grinned in response anyway.
That was great!
Kissing in public like Jacqueline had wanted to do for weeks now!
"Now we just have to tell our brothers" Rebekah sighed a little at that before she grinned again. Jacqueline was about to ask why she was grinning when Rebekah leaned forward and kissed her again.
Jacqueline wasn't complaining.
"What was that for?" Jacqueline chuckled when they parted again.
Rebekah shrugged, "As your official girlfriend I believe I can do that as much as I want"
"Definitely" Jacqueline laughed
Jacqueline had called a family meeting - something she hadn't done in years. Jeremy had pestered her the entire way on the drive back home wanting to know what it was about. She hadn't told him though. Honestly, Jacqueline wasn't sure how to tell him. Though she supposed she still had a few minutes to work that out.
Or not.
"Hey" Tyler greeted as he walked into the living room. "What's going on?"
"I don't know" Jeremy sighed with a shrug, "She hasn't said anything. It starting to freak me out"
Jacqueline rolled her eyes before she stood up from the couch. In her head this conversation had gone a lot easier than reality seemed to be going. Jacqueline wished Rebekah was here! Rebekah is way more in touch with her emotions. The blonde would have had some explanation that was more than just a few words.
Jacqueline was just uncomfortable.
"Uh? Is everything okay?" Tyler frowned in concern
Jacqueline sighed as she turned to face them. She kept her face blank but calm as she nodded. "Everything is fine" she agreed, "I just have some news"
Maybe it was like ripping off a bandaid?
Sure...
"I'm dating Rebekah" Jacqueline said simply and watched them both blankly for a reaction. Maybe bluntness was just easier than some long explanation?
She preferred it.
They're use to it from her anyway.
Tyler looked completely baffled as he looked at her and then Jeremy. Jeremy was sharing Tyler's reaction of shock and surprise. Neither boy looked like they knew what to say.
"Wait-" Tyler shook his head, "You're what now?"
Jacqueline smirked, "I'm dating Rebekah as of this morning. I thought I should tell you both first"
"But..." Jeremy frowned a little as he tried to wrap his mind around it. "I thought you, you know, liked guys?"
"I do" Jacqueline agreed with more calmness and control than she truly felt. But she gripped firmly onto all her remaining confidence to get through this conversation. "But I like Rebekah a lot too and we've decided to start dating"
"I- okay?" Jeremy nodded slowly, still looking a little surprised and a little lost. Though thankfully that didn't seem to be in a bad type of way.
"So Rebekah's the blonde vampire?" Tyler asked
Jacqueline nodded
Tyler grinned wolfishly and whistled, "Nice. She's hot"
Jacqueline completely agreed and she smirked before catching herself and throwing Tyler a look instead. "That's my new girlfriend your talking about, idiot"
Tyler just laughed
"Wait so-" Jeremy looked like he was still trying to understand. "You and Rebekah, are, like, gonna...?"
Jacqueline rolled her eyes at him and huffed.
Jeremy made a pinched sort of face, "You know what? I'm happy if your happy... just don't be too happy cause I don't wanna know about that - whether your with a guy or a chick - your still you!"
Jacqueline snorted sarcastically, "Thanks" she rolled her eyes. Though she couldn't say she was surprised by that part of his reaction. She would make sure she always had a privacy spell on her room.
He certainly didn't have to worry.
Jacqueline might have been a little uncomfortable with the conversation, but she figure it had gone well. "Thanks for not Laing this a big deal" Jacqueline said and gave a more genuine smile
They both nodded easily.
Jacqueline wondered if Rebekah was having the same luck?
Kol would probably say something like Tyler and Jeremy just had. Elijah would probably be a little uncomfortable with discussing his little sisters romances, but supportive. Klaus likely would offer to kill her if she hurts Rebekah. Jacqueline didn't imagine Rebekah getting any disapproval though.
It should work out in the end.
Jacqueline smiled a little to herself as she picked up her phone and sent Rebekah a message.
Correction; sent her girlfriend a message.
Jacqueline finally felt completely happy again. Things were gonna work out - she just knew they would. Thankfully her gut instincts are always right.
REBEKAH POV:
Rebekah and Jacqueline had both sent out family meeting messages at the café. Rebekah had taken her time getting home and now that she's here - she's gonna have to tell her brothers the news.
She was nervous.
Though Rebekah was inexplicably happy about her relationship. She hadn't ever felt this giddy when dating before. Jacqueline certainly was special. Rebekah now couldn't even remember what she had been scared of in the first place.
Being was Jacqueline felt amazing.
It had from the beginning.
She walked into the entertainment room and hovered in the doorway. Elijah was sat in his usual chair reading some book. Nik was sketching someone in his art book. Kol was laughing as he no doubt flicked through memes that he had become obsessed with recently.
What was she gonna say again?
Rebekah couldn't remember anymore, but she knew that she wanted their approval.
She cleared her throat unnecessarily and put on a brave face. Rebekah feared their rejection most of all. Honestly, Rebekah wasn't sure what she wound do or say if they disapproved. She couldn't bare to let Jacqueline leave her, but she didn't want to loose them.
"Rebekah?" Elijah soothingly called
Rebekah blinked and sighed as she forgot her momentary panic.
"Yes, sister? You called" Kol rolled his eyes and whined, "Now what seems to be the need for a meeting? I was busy"
"Well I-" Rebekah cleared her throat again as she resisted the urge to squirm under their expectant gazes. "I have news, I suppose... and I wanted to tell you first"
Elijah gave her a small encouraging smile that had her feeling a little more confident. "You have our attention, Rebekah" he nodded for her to go on.
"Right. Yes, well I have decided that I will be dating Jacqueline" Rebekah said slowly as she looked at them all. Trying to gage their reactions was a difficult task, but none of them seemed angry or upset.
"That is good news" Elijah nodded, "How did it go?"
Rebekah smiled softly, "Rather well... I gather this means you approve? You don't mind?" She asked hesitantly as she searched his face.
Elijah stood and gave her a hug, kissing her forehead gently. "I find myself quite fond of Jacqueline already. I think she will be good for you, Rebekah"
Rebekah beamed despite the fact she tried not to.
"I will admit I'm rather disappointed the charming BloodWitch will be taken" Kol grinned, "Though now since she's your girlfriend, you can help me get answers"
Rebekah rolled her eyes.
While Kol's words sounded rather conceited, she knew the truth. Kol didn't like to admit he felt things - and this was his way of covering for that fact. This was him giving his approval in a way only Kol could pull off. Managing to be both sweet and annoying at the same time.
"I will do no such thing, brother" Rebekah smirked
Kol dramatically sighed, "Dont you love me?! The curiously is killing me!"
"Then you'll die" Rebekah chuckled at his exaggerated gasp of betrayal. Though she knew he wasn't lying about the curiosity getting to him.
Kol always loved magic. Even when they were humans and he was a witch. Kol had sought anything and everything related to magic out since he was young.
Rebekah looked at Nik.
Nicklaus may the one brother she argues with the most, but it's only cause they're so similar. Nik goes about showing his care wrong. Rebekah goes about reacting to things wrong too. His opinions matter though. When Nik was silent her eyes dropped to the floor in disappointment. He was never silent. Rebekah realised it must be because he's especially unhappy.
"Rebekah, you know I'll always support you" Nik chided as he pulled her into a hug.
Rebekah let out a breath of relief and hugged him back. "I love you Nik" she whispered as she hugged him tightly.
Nik sighed in exasperation but she knew it was just a cover. "I do love you too, Rebekah" he said before letting go. "And I think you and Jacqueline will make a lovely couple"
Rebekah smiled
She was extremely happy that her family had taken the news this well. She knew in her 1000 years she had never once looked at a woman but Jacqueline isn't just any woman. Rebekah knew in her heart that everything about this was different.
It was going to work, she knew it would.
Seeing that her brothers had faith in that as well only made her happier. In fact, Rebekah couldn't wait to tell Jacqueline how it had gone.
She wondered if Jeremy and Tyler had understood? Though she doubted either would care too much. They were happy if Jacqueline is - Rebekah knew Jacqueline would be fine if not a little uncomfortable.
"I'll be in my room then" Rebekah happily excused herself a she pulled out her phone.
"Off to call your girlfriend are you?" Kol shouted teasingly
Rebekah only laughed with him.
She was feeling on top of the world at the moment. Like nothing had ever made more sense than it does now. Rebekah had never been happier or more content. She had never been this confident that she wouldn't be heartbroken.
Things are great for once!
She was glad they had talked this through. Jacqueline never really thought she would find herself saying that about anything... but here she was. In all fairness she had never pictured her life turning out the way it had either.
And maybe since most of those things turned out to be good, this would to?
Jacqueline really hoped it would.
Rebekah is special though, Jacqueline knew that without a doubt. Despite the awkward and unhelpful advice given to her by Tyler and Jeremy - Jacqueline knew she wanted this. It physically felt like not having Rebekah would hurt a hell of a lot more than anyone's thoughts on it.
Jacqueline had never cared about what others thought before, why start now?
Jacqueline looked at Rebekah again and the thoughts that had been swirling in her mind faded. Jacqueline didn't know how it was possible to feel this way, but she liked it. There was something so natural about it all that comforted Jacqueline.
"Do you want to stay over tonight?" Jacqueline ventured, her voice calmly confident despite how she really felt.
Rebekah nodded slowly in agreement - looking almost like she was getting ready for rejection.
Jacqueline frowned a little but decided not to question it. She understood that these were new waters for both of them. Jacqueline figured, like any new relationship, they would have to find a rhythm that worked for them.
"There's no pressure or anything" Jacqueline assured Rebekah quietly, as she wondered if maybe this was a bad idea.
She wouldn't take it back though.
In all honesty she was thrilled at the idea of being close to the beautiful blonde. It didn't have to be in a sexual way. Jacqueline wanted Rebekah to know that wasn't what she was expecting. Though she didn't really know how to communicate it in words.
So she didn't.
Instead Jacqueline went to her dresser and pulled out her draw of pyjama suitable clothing. "You can search in here for something to wear" Jacqueline smiled at Rebekah
Rebekah returned the smile and dug through the draw of clothes. "Thanks" Rebekah said and turned away but Jacqueline could still see the smile Rebekah attempted to hide.
That made her feel great.
Jacqueline liked the idea that she made Rebekah smile. Even if it was over some small gesture like sharing clothes to wear to bed or something. It still felt good and did nothing to hurt Jacqueline's ego.
"You can change in the bathroom if you want, Beka" Jacqueline said nodding to the bathroom door next to her closet door.
Rebekah nodded with a another giddy smile and disappeared into the bathroom.
Jacqueline started undressing herself as she stood in her bedroom. She was unhooking her bra when she felt a presence hovering behind her. Jacqueline was once again glad Rebekah couldn't hear the spike in her heart rate. Being a BloodWitch meant Jacqueline didn't 'cast' spells to use magic, it was a part of her body and soul already.
Like an extra limb.
Which was why Jacqueline already knew Rebekah had come back into the room. Despite the fact that Rebekah had made no move to announce that fact. Jacqueline smiled to herself and continued on as if she wasn't aware she was being watched.
It wasn't like she minded anyway!
Jacqueline set her bra on the bed and then stepped into the silk sleep shorts. Pulling the matching deep royal blue silk singlet over her head not long after.
Rebekah cleared her throat then and walked further into the room like nothing happened. "Thanks for letting me borrow them, Jackie" Rebekah smiled
Jacqueline nodded with a sly grin.
She would allow Rebekah to continue on as if she hadn't gotten a good show. Jacqueline didn't intend to make Rebekah more uncomfortable than she feared the beautiful blonde might already be. If bringing it up embarrassed Rebekah than Jacqueline didn't know how Rebekah would react.
She doubted it would be a good reaction.
So she left it alone.
"Are you ready for bed?" Jacqueline asked moving her dirty clothes to the basket for now.
"It is late" Rebekah said in way of agreement, casting a nervous look towards Jacqueline.
Jacqueline nodded and despite feeling as nervous and unsure as Rebekah, she took the lead. Getting into bed she climbed under the covers and smiled encouragingly at Rebekah. Once Rebekah was in the bed Jacqueline reached out with her magic to turn the lights off.
Leaving them in the dark.
Jacqueline took full advantage of her magic and used it to strengthen her sight a little. She wanted to be able to see Rebekah cause she knew as a vampire that Rebekah could see her already.
It was awkward.
Sighing softly she huddled into herself as uncertainty clouded her mind. Jacqueline had never been an insecure person but something about Rebekah forced her to wonder about those things. Jacqueline couldn't help the uncertainty she now felt, especially when Rebekah kept her distance.
What if Rebekah was just going along with this for her sake?
What if Rebekah wasn't as attracted to Jacqueline as she is Rebekah?
What if Rebekah regrets agreeing to be in a relationship with her?
Jacqueline but her lip in worry before asking the question she was dreading. "Are you sure you want to be with me, Rebekah?" Her voice wavered from It's usual confidence. Though the safety of the dark bedroom prevented her pride from being too damaged by that.
Rebekah sucked in a breath, "I do!" The blonde insisted quickly. "I promise I do want to be with you. I just - well, I just don't know how" Rebekah whispered the admission with shame lacing her voice.
Jacqueline was almost relieved.
"We can take it slow?" Jacqueline offered quietly. "I mean... I don't want to make you uncomfortable. It just feels natural to me, to want to be close to you"
Rebekah smiled, "I feel the same. I really do" she insisted
"Good" Jacqueline said a little more confidently this time.
Tentatively Jacqueline reached out a hand, resting it on Rebekah's arm. She felt the blondes skin prickle with goosebumps at her touch. Gaining a little more confidence Jacqueline moved closer to Rebekah, cuddling up to the blonde. Rebekah seemed to grow bolder once Jacqueline had made the first move. Rebekah readily snuggled against Jacqueline and they eventually found themselves clinging onto each other. Almost as if letting go would end it all and leave them alone.
"I don't know how this is going to go, but it really like you" Jacqueline whispered
Rebekah reached out and tenderly stroked Jacqueline's cheek. Rebekah nodded, "I really like you too"
They moved closer in the safety of Jacqueline's dark bedroom. Meeting Rebekah half way, Jacqueline pressed her lips against Rebekah's. She could feel the sudden thrill that shot through her body. Her hands tightened around Rebekah as the kiss continued. She wanted it to last as long as possible. As the kiss to developed, Jacqueline could only marvel at the feeling of Rebekah's kisses. It felt like their mouths were meant to fit together, their lips in a perfect dance moving against the others. Jacqueline's tongue tingled as Rebekah's made contact with her own.
It was a jolting feeling.
The need to hold her close was overwhelming. They continued kissing until a necessity for air made her pull away. Both of them were panting slightly but they didn't move far. Jacqueline could still feel Rebekah's lips brush against hers as they regained their breath.
Jacqueline smiled to herself as she rested her forehead against Rebekah's.
"We can stop, if you want to? We don't have to do anything... that's not why I asked you to stay. I just wanted to be around you" Jacqueline said allowing nerves to get the better of her, as she tried to make that clear.
Sex was not a requirement to staying over.
Jacqueline might have done some bad things in her life but she would never do that.
Not ever.
"You remember we've had sex twice already" Rebekah reminded her gently. "Plus, I want to... if you do" The blonde hastily added
"Mhmm" Jacqueline hummed with a grin and pressed her lips back on Rebekah's.
She felt Rebekah smile against the kiss but the blonde responded instantly. Rebekah's hand that had been on Jacqueline's cheek ventured further down. She sighed blissfully into the kiss when Rebekah moved her hand to Jacquelines chest. Exploring under the flimsy shirt until Rebekah found Jacquelines left breast. Rebekah's squeezed experimentally before catching Jacqueline's nipple between her fingers.
Jacqueline felt herself responding as excitement flooded through her body.
Unashamedly she moaned a little at Rebekah's actions. Pressing herself further against her new girlfriend in reaction. Jacqueline slipped a hand into Rebekah's hair as they kissed. It was intoxicating in the best way possible. Jacqueline let her hand move down Rebekah's back until It splayed out on Rebekah's ass. She was surprised to find that she rather liked the position even if they were still fully clothed.
"Hmm" Rebekah sighed blissfully
Jacqueline slipped her thigh in between Rebekah's legs. Both women needing the friction as they lay on their sides facing each other. Jacqueline felt Rebekah grip her thigh with her legs and shift her hips, rocking forward.
A breathy moan left Rebekah's lips and it was music to Jacquelines ears.
Rebekah seemed to forget all about their kisses as she clutched Jacqueline tighter to herself. Jacqueline grinned devilishly when she realised how desperate her new girlfriend was getting. Rebekah's hips rocked forward to gain more friction against Jacqueline's thigh.
"Becks" Jacqueline said, finding herself full of confidence once again. Seeing how much Rebekah wanted her had erased the doubts in her mind. "Rebekah" Jacqueline said as sternly as possible
Rebekah seemed worried she had done something wrong, but relaxed when she realised Jacqueline was smirking.
"Let me help you, baby" Jacqueline whispered, her voice hoarse and seductive
Rebekah looked taken aback by the use of the name before a wide and delighted grin was on the blondes face. Rebekah kissed her softly before pulling away again. "I like hearing you call me that" Rebekah admitted
Jacqueline would deny the fact that she beamed in response.
Focusing back on the task at hand, Jacqueline reached for Rebekah's leg and guided it up to rest on her own hip. She removed her thigh and slid Rebekah's shorts off her beautiful legs.
"Your amazing, Rebekah" Jacqueline whispered honestly as she admired the blonde.
Jacqueline knew if vampires could blush that Rebekah would be pink by now. She thought Rebekah looking flustered was incredibly hot. She planted kisses on Rebekah's jaw, neck and collarbone. Allowing her tongue to take control, teasing and kissing. This is the part that Jacqueline is confident in doing. Jacqueline never doubted her abilities in bed before, but being with Rebekah was different.
It felt more important.
More meaningfully.
And this time they didn't have Damon between them taking control.
Her hand slipped in between them and Jacqueline was delighted by how ready Rebekah was. Slowly, Jacqueline began to let her fingers explore. Using her own past experiences and Rebekah's reactions, to show her what to do. She was glad to see the way Rebekah responded to her touch. Her fingers worked rapidly and she watched Rebekah breathing a little erratically, hips jerking and moans escaping.
Jacqueline could only smirk - completely proud of herself and not ashamed of the fact.
Rebekah moaned loudly and writhed in pleasure. "Jacqueline!" Rebekah moaned even louder when Jacqueline touched a place that was particularly sensitive. Spurred on by the moans of her name Jacqueline continued relentlessly. Rebekah clenched around her fingers before she finally found release. Her girlfriends tightly to her as her body unclenched and relaxed again.
Jacqueline kissed Rebekah on the corner of the mouth in a tender display of affection.
"Hmhnm" Rebekah breathily moaned contently. Her bright blue eyes shining at Jacqueline in lust. Rebekah nuzzled her face into Jacqueline's neck and began kissing Jacqueline's body as they both got completely undressed.
This was gonna be a long night.
With the way Rebekah's eyes glinted as she promised to try and make Jacqueline feel as good as Rebekah had - Jacqueline was perfectly glad for the long night.
