TRENTANOVE
"Hey baby" Jacqueline greeted and welcomed Rebekah's arms around her as she kissed her girlfriend. She had just come from dropping Jeremy off at school this morning.
Rebekah hummed against her lips with a smile. "Hello" Rebekah said before kissing her again. "I missed you"
Jacqueline only pecked Rebekah on the lips again at the admission. She sent a wave of love and happiness through their bond. Jacqueline found that she always missed Rebekah when they were apart. But she wasn't quite willing to say as much when it had only been a night.
But now she gets the rest of the day with Rebekah... as she usually does.
"Jeremy and Tyler will be coming over tonight?" Rebekah asked
Jacqueline hummed, "As if they really had a choice. Of course they will be"
Rebekah snorted and tightened her arms around Jacqueline's waist. "What's Tyler doing today then? I thought you were asking if he wanted to spend the day with us?"
Jacqueline rested her forehead on Rebekah's shoulder as she sighed. Tyler had technically graduated school early in New Orleans, which means he didn't go to school here. Yet Tyler had been sulking around the house or at the Grill for weeks.
Davina had been busy lately with Marcel.
Jacqueline didn't really know what to do about the situation. She couldn't exactly mention Marcel or Davina to anyone though. She wrapped her arms tighter around her girlfriend instead. Her hands settling on Rebekah's ass as she pressed against her girlfriend. Jacqueline huffed, "Do you really want to talk about Tyler?" She rose a brow
Rebekah smirked knowingly, "You're deflecting"
Jacqueline rolled her eyes, "Of course I am. Are you going to allow me to distract you or what?" She snarked
Rebekah laughed and smiled widely
"Gross!" Kol fake gaged and made a dramatic show of covering his ears. "Please keep talk of defiling my sister away from my innocent ears!"
Jacqueline snorted
"I quite liked where out conversation was leading" Rebekah said giving Kol a smug look as she did so.
Kol spluttered indignantly
Jacqueline only rested her head on Rebekah's shoulder again as they stood there in each other's arms. She never minded being wrapped up in her girlfriends arms. Jacqueline sent a wave of love and gratitude through the bond.
Rebekah smiled in acknowledgment and then pulled away.
Jacqueline allowed Rebekah to lead them further into the entertainment room. Rebekah pulled her down into the couch to sit. She smiled a little with her girlfriends care. Jacqueline guided Rebekah to sit in her lap. Holding back a content sigh when Rebekah snuggled closer.
Jacqueline wasn't usually one for snuggling, never had been before Rebekah anyway.
Though now she enjoyed the proximity and comfort.
Jacqueline rested an arm around Rebekah's waist and the other on Rebekah's thigh. While Rebekah sat across her lap, head on Jacqueline's shoulder and arms around her waist. Nowadays it was usually how they ended up when sitting on the couch.
Their families had gotten used to it by now.
Rebekah hummed, "Are we going to finally discuss what has you worried about Tyler?" She looked up at Jacqueline as she spoke.
"It's Davina" Jacqueline announced with a small sigh. "I think he misses Davina. She's been busy and she can't leave home easily"
Rebekah nodded knowingly, "Hasn't he called her or texted?"
Jacqueline shrugged, "I don't know. I guess not as much"
"You should invite the girl for dinner then" Elijah said as he walked into the room. Clearly having heard some of the conversation already.
Jacqueline really wished she could invite Davina. Even if she'd wanted to there was no way for Davina to make it in time. Jacqueline knew Tyler really missed Davina and she hated seeing him so upset. Tonight was the first time Tyler was really socialising since he's fallen into his little rut. Jacqueline was actually getting worried with how he's been lately. With kids friends, no job and no Pack - Tyler barely left the house.
"Davina isn't in Virgina" Rebekah explained, "She's a girl Tyler met in New Orleans"
Elijah nodded in understanding.
"She's in the coven in New Orleans?" Kol asked now interested in the conversation.
Typical.
Jacqueline shook her head, "Nope. She's not" she said. Jacqueline remembered barely managing to tell get there in time that day. If she hadn't of teleported-
Jacqueline perked up suddenly.
"What?" Rebekah frowned a she was pushed to sit up by the sudden movement.
Jacqueline grinned, "I'll teleport!"
Kol turned in her direction at that particular announcement. Whenever magic was mentioned Kol was suddenly all ears. All anyone had to do was mention magic and you'd have his full attention. Like a really annoying dog with a bone.
"It won't make you too tiered for tonight, will it?" Rebekah worried gently
"I'm a BloodWitch" Jacqueline smirked cockily, "My magic doesn't have limits"
Rebekah laughed.
Kol looked even more interested in what she was saying. He had been asking and wanting to know about her magic since they first met. Though Jacqueline had barely given him anything in response. The curiosity never lessened for Kol though as he took every chance possible to learn something about BloodWitches.
Jacqueline wouldn't be surprised if he wrote random facts She let slip down.
He was rather obsessed that way.
Pulling out her phone she sent both Davina and Marcel a text explaining what she was about to do. Jacqueline didn't wait for their reply's as she hurried to stand away from Rebekah and Kol who hovered nearby.
Jacqueline, knowing the safe way to do this, pulled out a small knife from her bag.
"Why do you need blood?" Rebekah frowned watching her intently
Jacqueline tentatively sent a wave of reassurance and confidence to her girlfriend through the bond. Though she did explain. "Since I'll be bringing someone back with me from such a long distance - this is the safer way. Though technically I don't need runes to teleport - it's just easier to control when I have an anchoring point"
Kol looked like a child in a candy store. "An anchoring point?"
"Runic magic" Jacqueline nodded with a raised brow, "Your not familiar with it?" She mocked him
Kol pouted, "Don't be rude now, darling. You could always teach me" he suggested
She rolled her eyes.
"Runic magic is used by Ancestral Bound Witches and by BloodWitches" Jacqueline explained, "I don't really use it much. Though the coven did teach it when I was learning"
Jacqueline sliced across her palm with the blade and dipped her finger in the blood that pooled. She crouched down and painted the symbols on the floor in her blood. Jacqueline furrowed her brow slightly as she recalled the symbols required.
ᚱ ᚣ ᛉ
"What do they mean?" Rebekah asked as she watched closely. "They look similar to Nordic language - Viking language from our human years. However those aren't the same"
"Travel, people, protection. This predates the Vikings" She smirked at her girlfriends surprised face. "Witches were created thousands of years before vampires"
Kol continued to pout, "Are you ever going to share your proof of that?"
"No" she snorted, "It's all safer in the hands of my coven. Though I might tell you the story sometime"
Kol looked pleased.
It was progress after all, Kol hadn't gotten her to blatantly agree to something before now.
Rolling her eyes she returned to the task at hand. Jacqueline stood back up and smiled warmly when she was handed a tissue by Rebekah. "Thank you baby" she peck Rebekah's lips as she took the tissue. Wiping her hand of the blood she concentrated on where she wanted to go.
The Church.
Davina.
Jacqueline closed her eyes and pictured the little room. The one in the top do then Church. The one covered in Davinas art supplies and clothing. She reached out with her magic, feeling it grow thick in the air. The room crackled with the static as she reached out to the room in her mind.
All was still.
Then it wasn't.
Jacqueline ungracefully stumbled when she appeared in Davinas room. She had been hoping to look less like a fool when she did that but there wasn't much she could do about it now.
"Jacqueline!" Davina screeched
Jacqueline jerked her head up to look at the girl in question. She smiled, "Hey"
Davina was sitting on her bed and hurriedly jumped up. Scrambling closer Davina barrelled into Jacqueline at full force. Davinas arms locked around Jacqueline in a hug that also felt like an attempt to keep her hostage. Though Jacqueline soothingly hugged the girl back anyways.
"Did you get my text?" She asked
Davina nodded against her shoulder. "What does 'get ready for family dinner. Be there in 5. Teleport friendly clothing' Even mean?!"
Okay, so maybe the hasty text hadn't been all that clear...
Jacqueline snorted.
Davina pulled away and gave her a look at the reaction.
"It means we're teleporting to my girlfriends house for dinner with the family and your invited" Jacqueline explained with a smirk, "So are you wearing a nice outfit to leave in yet?"
Davina beamed, "I finally get to meet Rebekah?"
Jacqueline nodded, "Just don't mention Marcel. Okay? He's got some really bad history with her family" she sighed
Davina frowned but nodded, "Okay. Hey, uh, do you think, uh, that Tyler will be there?" Davina asked, blushing pink without meeting Jacqueline's eyes.
"He will be there" Jacqueline assured then nudged the young Witch. "I think he misses you"
"Really?" Davina grinned
Jacqueline rolled her eyes, "If either of you think that your hiding your crush from me... your failing. I approve anyway. I think you two would be great together" she said simply, much to Davinas surprise
Davina spluttered
"You know!" The girl huffed as if she'd actually done a good job at hiding the fact.
Jacqueline rose a brow at Davina.
Davina pouted before brightening up and flouncing over to her dresser to put on lipstick. Jacqueline watched in fond amusement as the girl rushed around the room. Davina was wearing a pink dress and black flats - she looked nice.
The extra touches were no doubt to impress Tyler.
Not that he wouldn't have been impressed with Davina in a sweatshirt and pants. The guy has it bad for Davina already.
Jacqueline felt a pang of worry.
Worry that wasn't her own - It's Rebekah's worry. Jacqueline was slightly surprised she could feel Rebekah's emotions from across the country. Though she supposed she really shouldn't have been surprised. Jacqueline pushed a wave of love and assurance back through the bond to Rebekah.
"Ready?" Jacqueline prompted
Davina nodded
Jacqueline crouched down and cut her hand with the blade she brought. When the blood pooled a little in her hand, she painted the symbols onto the floor.
ᚱ ᚣ ᛉ
Davina watched in interest.
"Okay. Just hold my hand" Jacqueline smiled reassuringly as she offered her clean hand to the girl. Davina hesitantly took it and Jacqueline held firmly. She reached out with her magic and It crackled around them. Jacqueline put the Runes in her mind as she envisioned the Mikaelson entertainment room.
Everything went still.
Then Davina screeched loudly in fear and shock.
Kols laughter followed the screech.
Jacqueline smiled in amusement at the young witch who's eyes were still firmly shut. Jacqueline somehow doubted her hand would be returned anytime soon now. Davina was clutching it tight enough to possibly break something.
"Darling. This is Tyler's little witch?" Kol asked curiously, "Is she a BloodWitch too?"
Davina opened her eyes and frowned at Kol. Davina looked at Jacqueline who nodded soothingly before the girl ventured to look around the room.
"She's not a BloodWitch" she said to Kol with a stern look. "But your gonna leave her alone nonetheless, Kol"
Kol rose a brow in challenge.
Jacqueline smirked in response to the challenge she knew she would win.
Kol pouted.
"Jacqueline?" Davina whispered as she moved closer, still clutching Jacqueline's hand.
"This is Kol" Jacqueline pointed to the vampire. "And this is Rebekah" she nodded to her girlfriend.
Davina perked up and looked at Rebekah then, inspecting the blonde curiously. Rebekah smiled a little in fondness before extending her hand to Davina. "Pleasure to meet you" Rebekah smiled kindly, "I've head good things from Jacqueline and Tyler"
Davina blushed.
Jacqueline smirked at her girlfriend before shaking her head. "I've got to wash this blood off now. You should call Tyler and let him know your here"
Davina beamed and pulled out her phone.
Jacqueline wandered into the kitchen to wash the blood off her skin. She hummed when Rebekah walked in behind her. Jacqueline leaned against the sink as arms wrapped around from behind. "I was surprised to feel out connection all the way in New Orleans" she admitted
Rebekah hummed, "So was I. Though we really shouldn't have been" she chuckled
Jacqueline nodded.
After all the research and freaking out she had done she shouldn't of been surprised. Jacqueline had known that the bond didn't have a geographical limit. They were forever bound together and distance wouldn't change that.
"It's just different feeling your emotions when we're not in the same room" she decided
Rebekah nodded.
"Tyler will be happy now that Davina is here" Jacqueline said, "I hope they work things out. No more insisting that they're friends" she rolled her eyes fondly
"Playing matchmaker now, love?" Klaus asked as he walked into the room. A brow raised in amusement as he looked at them.
Jacqueline was caught red handed.
For as much as she insisted that she was I different to those types of thing - family was always the exception. Jacqueline didn't think there was a single thing she wouldn't do for family. All they had to do was ask. Cause once she cares about you, she's loyal to the very end. However, Jacqueline didn't particularly want everyone knowing she was bring two in love teens together.
She almost winced at the thought.
Her humanity was showing.
Jacqueline rolled her eyes, "No, I'm simply making sure I dont have to hear Tyler complaining anymore" she huffed a little as her actions threatened to hurt her pride.
Rebekah chuckled and nodded along, "Purely self-serving reasons, of course"
Klaus smirked knowingly but didn't comment further on what they all knew was an excuse.
Jacqueline huffed.
They were all sitting around the large table for dinner. The food was nice, though that was thanks to the chef Klaus had compelled to cook for them. Jacqueline had laughed when she found that particular detail out.
They'd been having a good time though.
Tyler and Davina hadn't mentioned Marcel thankfully. Thought the two were in their own little bubble all all night.
Kol was having fun bickering with Klaus while Jeremy watched in amusement.
Elijah was trying his best to look exasperated but Jacqueline knew better than that. She felt it too sometimes. Jacqueline remembered when she would watch Jeremy, Elena and Tyler argue while attempting to remain indifferent. It was a difficult task and she knew the exasperation was a mask for true fondness.
Rebekah's hand tightened on her thigh.
Jacqueline looked up at her Bonded and smiled happily. She could still barely believe she was able to say that - her bonded.
It was still all so new.
Though Jacqueline felt like an absolute fool for being so worried in the first place. This truly was the best thing to ever happen. Jacqueline had been particularly begrudging when Giovanni had knowingly asked about it. Her pride had been wounded a little.
Giovanni had been right and the woman knew it.
"Jaq took me to see one of those shows when I was younger" Jeremy was telling Elijah. "She hated it! But she sat through the entire thing with me anyway"
Jacquelines eyes softened in a way only Jeremy or Tyler could make happen. Her heart swelled with so much love that even Rebekah felt it.
Elijah hummed, "I prefer to read the original novels myself" he said
Jeremy nodded, "I'm not very big on readying. I like art and drawing more than actual academics" he shrugged
"Jacqueline has mentioned your art program a time or two" Klaus said as he gave a smirk in her direction.
Jacqueline huffed, "I'm proud of him" she defended herself, "There's nothing wrong with that!"
Kol snorted, "Darling, your his biggest fan - I do believe the term nowadays is a 'fangirling' moment" he mocked
Jacqueline shrugged, "I'm always his biggest fan. That's just how it works" she said with an indifferent shrug to Kol's teasing.
"I think Jeremys art is rather good too" Rebekah nodded, "Jaq and I have tickets to the exhibition next month"
Jeremy nodded, "She's always at my events, but you don't have to go to if you don't want to. It's just school stuff" he said
Rebekah smiled, "I want to. Your art is great and I'll be there to see it"
"Isn't that a bit much?" Kol asked with a roll of his eyes. "It's not an audition for who gets to play stepmother, Rebekah"
Rebekah glared at Kol and hissed, "That wasn't what I was doing!"
Jacqueline cleared her throat unnecessarily and sent a wave of reassurance towards Rebekah. Jacqueline sighed, "I think if Jeremy didn't want us there he would say so, right?" She looked at Jeremy searching his face for a sign she wasn't welcome.
Was she overstepping again?
Jacqueline constantly had to remind herself that she was his sister, not mother. The line was blurred in her mind and she could never tell what was accepted for a sister.
Not anymore.
"No!" Jeremy quickly denied, "No I want you to be there! I don't mind if Rebekah goes too" he assured them with an easy smile
Jacqueline narrowed her eyes scrutinisingly before letting out a small breath of relief.
She nodded.
"Great" Rebekah smiled happily, "I look forward to it"
Jeremy nodded and sent them both a grin before returning to his food.
"Do you always attend Jeremys events?" Elijah asked, though he looked more curious than anything.
Jacqueline hesitated in uncertainty
Jeremy nodded though, "She does. Always has. Jacqueline stepped up for us when Miranda wouldn't. I barely even knew Miranda, never saw her unless she was getting something from the kitchen or leaving for one of her benders" he explained
Jacqueline refused to squirm as a few eyes turned to her at the new information.
"Jaq did everything for me and Elena. She took me to my first day of kindergarten, met with my teachers, paid for my school stuff, made dinner and cleaned" Jeremy continued oblivious to Jacquelines growing discomfort with the topic. "Jacqueline is basically our mom. I wish she had actually been my mom... I always did think of her as one"
Jacqueline's heart did a weird skip thing she couldn't explain.
Her eyes dropped to her plate as pain bloomed in her chest. His words were so sweet and she was ashamed that she couldn't be entirely happy about them. It's what she always wanted to hear. But it reminded her that they once had a mother and son relationship. They'd had that bond and it had been unknowingly taken.
Jacqueline paled a little.
However, with the reassurance sent to her from Rebekah she regained her composure.
Jeremy looked over at her then and Jacqueline sent him a tentative smile. He happily went back to eating and she cleared her throat uncomfortably.
"How do you like Mystic Falls?" Jacqueline asked Davina
Davina smiled and nodded shyly. "Well it's been good. We hung out in the Grill"
Tyler nodded, "Yeah and Bonnie practically told her to get out of town" he rolled his eyes. "Apparently Bonnie doesn't want another witch here"
Kol scoffed, "I love witches but I don't like that Bennett girl"
Klaus snorted, "Judgy little thing indeed"
Dinner carried on in silly banter and casual conversation for the rest of the night. Jacqueline pushed away any of the feeling she felt to be dealt with later. Instead she enjoyed the good time with her family. It was an odd mix of people - mostly supernatural - and yet it couldn't be more prefect.
Jacqueline smiled.
It was only when they reached the privacy of Rebekah's bedroom that Jacqueline let out a shuddering breath. The pain she had been pushing aside all night gripped her chest. Jacqueline could hardly breathe as she felt tears well in her eyes.
She blinked them away furiously.
This wasn't supposed to happen!
"Hey, hey" Rebekah soothed, quickly reaching for Jacqueline. Rebekah's arms wrapped around Jacqueline's body tightly. As if Rebekah thought she could squeeze the pain out of her.
Honestly, Jacqueline wished she could...
Jacqueline gripped her girlfriends body. She was glad she couldn't hurt Rebekah cause her hold was fierce. Every emotion that she had locked away seemed to flood her all at once. Her knees gave out and if it weren't for Rebekah then she would have been on her ass.
Jacqueline choked on a sob.
"It's okay, baby" Rebekah whispered and gently slid an arm around Jacqueline's waist. "Come on"
Rebekah led her into the bathroom.
Jacqueline steeled herself against the aching throb of her heart. She walked numbly alongside her girlfriend. Allowing herself to silently be led to sit on the edge of the tub.
It hurt.
Her heart hurt.
Jacqueline let out a shaky breath as she gripped the porcelain tub.
Rebekah moved around the bathroom, continuously casting a worried look Jacqueline's way. Idly Jacqueline watched her girlfriend, though nothing but pain was registering at the moment. The pain was all consuming after all these years of locking it away.
At least now she wasn't alone...
Jacqueline grimaced as she recalled the one night of her life that she consumed drugs.
It had hurt back then too.
The day a soon to be 8 year old Jeremy got home from school and asked why he called her mommy if she wasn't his mommy. The innocent question had broken her heart. Jacqueline painfully remembered him rambling on about how he hadn't known he was supposed to call her Jacqueline. He hadn't even known how bad he hurt her that day.
He still doesn't know.
Cause what was the point of telling him?
Jacqueline knew that even if he considered her a motherly figure, even if she considered him her son - they weren't gonna be that again. It was too late for that now. Jeremy didn't need a mom anymore, he needs a sister now.
He's grown up now!
Jacqueline had missed her chance to be a real mom and it was agony.
Rebekah appeared in front of her again, hands reaching to wipe away tears. "Just let it out, babe, please, don't hold it in anymore"
Jacqueline shook her head quickly and sucked in a deep breath. She couldn't do that. She couldn't let herself feel that pain again... it would hurt too much. Cause she knew, what she was feeling now, was only the beginning of it. They'd barely scratched the surface. Once Jacqueline started letting those old memories resurface, it would open the floodgates to the rest. Jacqueline needed to be able to get up tomorrow morning. She needed to be able to smile and get through the day. Jacqueline was going to have to look at her family again tomorrow like nothing was wrong.
She couldn't do that with this pain.
It's too much!
"Jacqueline..." Rebekah murmured hesitantly
Jacqueline didn't say a word though, she just stared blankly. She needed to get her mind right again. She needed to lock it away in her head like it never happened.
But she couldn't.
It had worked for a while but now she was being forced to face this. Jacqueline felt like an idiot - she felt like all this pain over this was ridiculous. Jacqueline was a little embarrassed. It wasn't like she had lost Jeremy. After all, she is his older sister and always had been.
The mother and son relationship had been taken away but Jeremy was still here.
As her brother.
Rebekah kissed her forehead and lifted the shirt from her body. Jacqueline smiled gently at the tender and caring actions. She removed the rest of her clothing and got into the bath Rebekah had run. She idly watched as Rebekah undressed and got into the bath behind her. Jacqueline sighed and leaned back against her girlfriend.
"You should let yourself feel" Rebekah whispered and rested her chin on Jacqueline's shoulder from behind.
Jacqueline sighed, "It's silly" she dismissed
"It's not silly, Jacqueline" Rebekah argued, "Jeremy might still be here and alive but you cared for each other like mother and son"
"Yeah..." she nodded and slumped against Rebekah.
Rebekah's arms tightly wrapped around her waist in the water. If the bath had been any smaller then Jacqueline would of been sitting on Rebekah's lap. But she found the closeness to be calming and reassuring.
She snuggled further into Rebekah.
"You treated him like a son from the beginning. You raised him, cared for him, loved him like only a mother is capable" Rebekah whispered understandingly, "Then one day, without realising it, he rejected that bond and once that happened you could never get it back"
Jacqueline sniffled, "He was just a kid" she defended regardless of the fact she knew there had been no accusation.
"I know" Rebekah agreed kissing her neck gently. "He went on as if nothing had changed. He continued to need you and yet demoted you to a sister role. You were the one who had to feel that loss and yet somehow continue on anyway"
Jacqueline didn't know what to say to that. She was glad she didn't have to explain though...
Rebekah already knew.
Jacqueline sucked in a breath when she felt a strong wave of love and comfort over their bond. She was grateful for Rebekah more than she could ever express. Words didn't even get in to explain how much Jacqueline loved her girlfriend.
Well...
"I love you" Jacqueline blurted out without really thinking it through.
It was true though.
Jacqueline did love Rebekah and she had known that for a while now. That, however, hadn't meant she had been ready to admit as such. Despite the fact they can feel the love through the new bond.
Staying it was an entirely different thing...
Rebekah looked shocked for a few seconds. Then she beamed, "I love you too!"
Slowly, she turned to face Rebekah. Jacqueline smiled at her girlfriends words - she had needed to hear them. Jacqueline urged Rebekah's face closer to her own. Rebekah complied and leaned forward, kissing her gently. The kiss didn't last long but it conveyed the love they felt nonetheless. Jacqueline relaxed even more against her girlfriend, her head falling back onto Rebekah's shoulder. She sighed contently when Rebekah started kissing her neck. In the warmth of the water Rebekah's hands moved to Jacquelines chest.
She loved Rebekah a lot.
Jacqueline was glad to hear and feel the same love in return.
It was amazing.
Rebekah massaged her breast in her hands before slowly lowering her hands down Jacqueline's stomach. Jacqueline smiled when she felt Rebekah's fingers slithering between her legs. She arched her back in response and spread her legs encouragingly.
"Tell me first?" Rebekah demanded suddenly
Jacqueline knew what her girlfriend wanted and fully planned to give it to her. Jacqueline looked over her shoulder at Rebekah and grinned. "I love you" she said
Rebekah beamed.
"I love you too, Jacqueline" Rebekah promised before slipping her fingers into Jacqueline's folds.
"Mhmnnmm" Jacqueline purred happily in the blondes ear and arched her back.
Jacqueline shuddered when Rebekah kissed along her neck. Her skin tingled under Rebekah's every touch. Everything with Rebekah was so romantic and sensual and perfect. It was always so full of love and trust - even before they had said the words out loud.
Jacqueline could hardly believe she had once said she never wanted to fall in love.
Now she didn't want anything else.
