"Ah!" Hayley yelped

Jacqueline rose a brow at the pregnant woman who immediately clutched her neck. The smell of blood had Jacqueline quickly crossing the room to see what had happened. "What's wrong?" Jacqueline asked

Hayley pulled her hand away with a touch of blood on her fingers and a frown on her face. Hayley shrugged, "Hell if I know"

Jacqueline inspected the woman's neck and found no mark was left on the skin. Aside from a little bit of smeared blood there was no sign that anything had been wrong in the first place. Jacqueline guessed it must have something to do with the linking spell between Hayley and Sophie.

Maybe something had hurt Sophie?

Jacqueline hoped it was nothing serious and that this would be the extent of the injury. The last thing they needed was Sophie getting herself killed and in the process harming Hayley or the baby.

"It felt like I was being stabbed" Hayley muttered

"There's nothing there now" Jacqueline shrugged before looking over her shoulder at her girlfriend. Jacqueline exchanged a worried look with Rebekah before she guided Hayley to a chair again.

They'd keep an eye on her for now.

There wasn't anything to suggest something serious had happened. Jacqueline didn't see the harm in texting Elijah a message to have him check in on the witches. Jacqueline smiled at the immediate reply from Elijah, assuring her that he would check to see what had happened.

"Do you think it's Sophie related?" Hayley asked

Jacqueline didn't want to worry the woman so she easily deflected with a snarky comment. "Yes. Do me a favour though, don't die on my watch. I'll never hear the end of it" Jacqueline retorted carelessly

Rebekah snorted.

"You know, when I first met you two - I thought you were both real bitches" Hayley retorted

"Yeah?" Jacqueline smirked, glad to hear her bond with Rebekah hadn't completely softened her mean side.

Rebekah gave Jacqueline a knowing look. Rebekah then asked Hayley, "What changed your mind?"

Hayley scoffed, "Oh. I still think you're both bitches... I've just grown to like that about you both"

"How sweet" Tara laughed

"It's time for the demon spawn to snack" Rebekah announced cheerily as she waved around the bowl of apples she had collected.

Hayley rolled her eyes, "I really wish you wouldn't call her that"

"It's a girl then?" Jacqueline asked as she caught the pronoun Hayley used for the baby.

Hayley nodded

"Have you picked a name yet?" Davina called from where she was sat with Tara on the couch painting their nails. Davina and Tara had grown close in the last few days. Both girls enjoying having someone their age to treat as sisters.

"Nope" Hayley shook her head, "Just found out the gender. Klaus and I haven't really talked about it yet"

"Don't let him pick some old fashioned name" Rebekah said with an eye roll before holding out the bowl of apples to Hayley. "Take one. The plantation is lousy with them"

Hayley took an apple and bit into it.

"What's wrong?" Rebekah worried

Jacqueline looked at Hayley when she felt Rebekah's worry for the pregnant woman. With furrowed brows she watched Hayley grow pale and sick - looking like she might pass out soon. Jacqueline placed a hand on Hayley's forehead and was surprised at how hot the skin was. "You're burning up, actually" Jacqueline announced knowing this was no morning sickness.

"We should put her in bed" Rebekah said quietly

Jacqueline nodded, "And call Elijah to see what he found out about Sophie"

Rebekah grimly nodded in agreement.

"Get Elijah on the phone please, Davina" Jacqueline told the girl.

Rebekah moved to help Hayley upstairs into Hayley's bedroom. Jacqueline helped Hayley get comfortable again. She checked the woman's temperature. However, every passing second Hayley seemed to grow more uncomfortable. Jacqueline didn't voice it, but she was really worried about what was happening. Especially worried about how it might affect the baby.

"Stop fussing will you" Rebekah sighed

Davina walked into the room quickly, "Elijah will be here any second. He said he knows what's going on"

"I feel like I've been microwaved" Hayley complained as sweat broke out over her forehead.

"Hey" Rebekah rolled her eyes to lighten the moment. "Just because your carrying a baby doesn't mean you get to act like one. I'm sure my little niece is healing you up as we speak"

Hayley managed a smile at that.

Elijah quickly walked into the bedroom, eyes searching Hayley in worry and care. "Sophie Deveraux was kidnapped and hexed with a curse object. The magic is intended to raise one's blood pressure so high that no baby in the womb can survive"

"A miscarriage hex?" Tara looked horrified

"Shit" Jacqueline said through gritted teeth before she looked back at Elijah questioningly. "How long do we have?"

Elijah pursed his lips and fixed his cufflinks as he said, "2 hours... if we can unlink Sophie and Hayley then we should be able to resolve the situation"

Jacqueline sighed and nodded in agreement - she knew that hexes were created with the intended purpose of never being lifted. To create a cursed object one must have blood from a BloodWitch... the most potent form of magic. To undo a spell created with such power and intent would take more time and BloodWitches than they have available.

"But the baby's in distress" Tara frowned at Jacqueline

Jacqueline shrugged, "There is no baby if we don't unlink them. Unlinking them is the only chance at survival this baby has... there's no guarantee, sure, but it's the best option we have at the moment"

Hayley paled at the thought.

"I'll help then" Tara agreed

Jacqueline nodded, "Davina we're gonna need you too"

Davina nodded easily in agreement but asked, "Why do we need three witches for this spell?"

"The more absolute power put into the spell - the less risk" Jacqueline informed Davina quietly before looking at Rebekah again. "Get Hayley outside and into the pool - it should help cool her down and buy us time to go over the spell"

"Allow me" Elijah cut in before scooping Hayley into his arms and speeding her out of the house and towards the pool.

Rebekah was right behind Elijah too.

Jacqueline took more time to walk alongside the girls as they all rushed outside the plantation mansion. Jacqueline made a pitstop into the 'magic room' as Kol had dubbed the spare room he was using to teach Davina. Grabbing a few of the protective herbs she followed them out to the pool, hoping like all hell this would work successfully.

She couldn't fail.

Jacqueline would never forgive herself if Hayley and Klaus' unborn child died...

"She's burning up, Jacqueline" Elijah sounded worried. His usually composed manor was gone right now as he shed his suit jacket. "We need to do this now!" Elijah said, helping Hayley into the pool.

"Get her in the water" Jacqueline told him

There was no room for being delicate right now - shit was about to get messy.

Elijah nodded and jumped into the pool, dragging Hayley who looked ready to pass out further into the water. Elijah kept going towards the deep end of the pool so that Hayley was fully submerged in the cold water.

"How is this going to help?" Rebekah asked

"Her temperature is sky high and the water will buy us more time to go as slow as we can risk on this spell" Jacqueline explained as she mixed up the herbs and set them on fire to burn in the air around the three witches. "If we rush this... one slip up, one mistake..."

The consequences didn't need to be voiced.

Rebekah grimly nodded in understanding of what Jacqueline was saying could happen.

Jacqueline shuffled to the edge of the pool and beckoned Elijah over to the pools edge. She reached out with her magic to slice into her own wrist and held out for Hayley. "Here. This should help protect the baby - BloodWitches magic runs through our veins"

Hayley didn't bother questioning it.

The woman simply drank as much of the blood as she could.

Jacqueline offered an encouraging smile to Hayley. She smeared more of her blood onto Hayley's forehead in ancient Runes of protection and good health. Jacqueline tore Hayley's shirt open and placed the same symbols on Hayley's heart and stomach. Jacqueline reached out with her magic to make sure the runes were anchored to Hayley's body.

Hayley gasped, "It tingles"

Jacqueline nodded, "It's supposed to - it's magic seeping into your skin"

The concept was truly amazing but Jacqueline didn't bother pondering those implications just yet. Instead she focused on the task at hand. Quickly moving back over to where Davina and Tara were going over the spell ritual. Davina would be able to use the Nature Bound witches version to help them even further by drawing on the elements. While Tara and Jacqueline would take the brunt of the spell by drawing on their own magic and Jacqueline's blood.

Jacqueline didn't do more than briefly pause, to think about what having this much of her blood on Hayley would do...

She figured the alternative was worse though.

The baby can't die.

"Alright" Jacqueline announced to the girls who looked up with determination. "Let's do this, girls. We should get into the pool for this" she advised

The three of them stood in the pool, looking at Elijah holding Hayley, as they joined hands and began the spell. Hayley screamed and panted in pain as Elijah continued to try and sooth her. Jacqueline nodded to the two teens girls before she began to reach out with her magic. The air around them grew static and tense with the powerful magic being used.

No doubt the feeling would linger for days to come.

Davina was chanting and muttering in ancient latin, as she too, attacked the unlinking spell. "Phesmatos, omnio ligata soluto. Phesmatos, omnio ligata soluto. Vingulia cordit..."

Hayley screamed.

Then, like a rubber band snapping, the three witches jolted as the spell was lifted.

Jacqueline eyed Hayley warily for a second. "Are you alright?" she asked quickly and placed a hand on Hayley's stomach to prod the baby for life or distress.

"I-I think so?" Hayley looked like she was still ready to pass out. Only this time it wasn't from a fever... more like the crazy rollercoaster of emotions she had just felt.

Jacqueline smiled and nodded, "Baby is perfectly fine and so are you"

Hayley panted in relief and hugged Elijah tightly as she calmed down from the scare. The way those two looked at each other had Jacqueline ushering the teens to give them a second of privacy. Jacqueline only turned back once and smiled at seeing the way Elijah and Hayley looked at each other. She guessed that it was a lot like how she and Rebekah looked at each other.

That was love.

Whether or not the two realise they feel it, or plan to do anything about it, that's love right there.

Jacqueline wished them well.

"Now it's time to kill Angus" Rebekah announced, "I presume Elijah might take a special interest in that task" The look on Rebekah's face said she had seen what Jacqueline had too.

Davina and Tara giggled quietly as they caught on.

Hand in hand, the women silently disappeared up to the bedroom. To be honest, Jacqueline was starting to really feel the shock of what she had just managed to pull off successfully. Jacqueline knew she'd had to try. She knew that it was the only change the baby could have survived. However, Jacqueline hadn't truly believed it would work.

Her silent shock was indicator enough of that...

In the moment Jacqueline hadn't even registered her own lack of faith. She had been too busy trying her best at making it work.

Now she acknowledged it though.

Jacqueline also acknowledged the fact that she was really happy it had worked out alright.

Though she'd be monitoring Hayley.

There really was no real way of knowing what the implications of using the at much blood would do. Jacqueline knew her blood was potent stuff - magic literally coursed through it. In fact, Jacqueline doubted that she would have been successful without giving Hayley that protection.

She'd keep an eye out for anything odd from now on.

Of course, so would everyone else. If Hayley had thought she was under lockdown before - this was going to be a culture shock. The scare had rattled them all. Especially the Mikaelson siblings who had never thought this possible. In their thousand years they come to accept nothing like this could happen. It made Hayley and the baby even more precious to them.

They appreciated it more.

And who wouldn't have a greater appreciation for life when they're unable to give it?

Jacqueline sighed.

She shut the bedroom door behind them and smiled when she felt Rebekah's arms immediately circle her waist. Jacqueline lent into the embrace, turning in her girlfriends arms to face the blonde. Jacqueline pecked Rebekah's lips before they shared a loving look.

Jacqueline sought Rebekah's lips out again.

This time heatedly.

Jacqueline wrapped her arms around Rebekah's neck. One hand tangling into Rebekah's hair as they kissed again. Jacqueline let out a small soundless moan, pulling Rebekah flush against her body. Continuing to kiss Rebekah deeply, Jacqueline nudged Rebekah backwards towards the bed.

Her whole body tingled.

The desire and longing was so strong it made her chest constrict in need.

With ease, they found their way to the bed. Sitting on the bed they passionately kissed. Jacqueline smiled against her girlfriends lips. The kiss quickly began to develop, their lips moving against each other, tongues expertly exploring. Rebekah's hand tightened around Jacqueline's waist until Jacqueline found herself in her girlfriends lap.

"You really do favour this position, don't you?" Jacqueline smirked a little. Though she didn't complain as she straddled Rebekah's lap.

Cause she liked it just as much.

Rebekah nodded, easily able to admit that she enjoyed this position a lot. Rebekah's hands roamed freely as they continued to kiss. Hands slithering up Jacqueline's thighs before landing on her ass.

Jacqueline laughed quietly

Rebekah smiled and lovingly looked at her again. "I love you"

Jacqueline hummed with a smile as she said, "I love you too, baby"

She continued the path of open mouthed kisses down Rebekah's neck. Rebekah tilted her head, welcoming the action. Jacqueline watched Rebekah's eyes fall shut and her mouth part in soundless pleasure. Rebekah gripped Jacqueline's ass tighter in response to the particularly sensitive spot on her neck. Frantically moving a hand under Jacqueline's shirt.

Both understanding and on the same page, they removed their shirts.

Bras followed quickly.

Rebekah raised a hand and cupped Jacqueline's breast. She smirked and arched her back encouragingly when Rebekah's hands roamed. Feeling her girlfriends fingers teasing her nipples and kneading the flesh. She moaned when Rebekah planted more soft kisses over her chest.

Jacqueline sighed in bliss.

Easing Rebekah to lay on the mattress, Jacqueline continued her trail across Rebekah's neck. Rebekah's arms wrapped around her neck at the change in position. Jacqueline tapped her girlfriends thighs, sliding off the jeans as Rebekah lifted her hips to help. She flung the pants off the side of the bed without a care where they landed.

She'd clean it up later.

Jacqueline sat back on the heels of her feet. She heard Rebekah's whimper at the loss of contact. The very sound making her smile. However, Jacqueline's eyes were drawn to the sight of her girlfriend sprawled out before their in bed.

Jacqueline's eyes glazed over.

Sometimes she could barely comprehend how luck she had gotten. Finding Rebekah was the best thing that ever happened.

Rebekah held herself up on her elbows and tilted her head curiously. Clearly enjoying the sight as much as Jacqueline was. Reaching out she stroked a hand over the top of the pink lace thong Rebekah wore. Rebekah shifted her hips in anticipation of the touch and Jacqueline could feel the heat intensify.

"Jacqueline..." Rebekah urged when the light touch was removed.

Jacqueline nodded sympathetically but held strong. "What do you want me to do, Beka?" She asked innocently

The noise Rebekah made as response was reward in itself.
